If you are divorcing your VA disability + your income from working will be used to calculate child support. So say your ex makes 40k per year working full time, and you make 30k on disability and 40k working full time you will be paying her like you make 70k. Ask yourself, would you rather work 10 hours a week at a part time job and make 40k per year? Or would you rather work full time hard work and make 55k per year while giving your ex around 15k per year in support. The above example is how t…

so I have lied a few times and said my car is broken or I'm too sick to drive a few times just to demonstrate what happens. The ex is saying she is about to get fired from her job and guess who's fault she says it is? My fault because apparently she is entitled to my labor because its best for the kid. It is not best for the kid to have an enraged car ride with Dad first thing in the morning 3 days a week.

I'm sorry you're hurting! I am on VA disability, and I foolishly got a full time job when she left... so now I have given her around $20,000 in child support while I wait for a judge to review the numbers for over a year. Sometimes inability to work can be a blessing when it comes time for an exwife to start looting your life.

In my case my exwife has refused to communicate about divorce terms except in a court room. She has a pro bono lawyer who is her best friends Mom. My legal fees are around $30,000 because she is obviously delaying this divorce as long as possible because she gets my child support and likely will not get it when the divorce is final. My lawyer is requesting that she pay half of my legal fees. I've been waiting 8 months to hear what a judge thinks about that.

DO NOT GET A JOB stick with whatever the status quo is. In your case you could get out without paying child support... it's a crazy high bill, much more than a kid needs.

The justification is that my ex has to work at 8:30am, her work is 28 minutes away from the school and she would likely get stuck in traffic on her commute potentially making her late to work. I don't have a work a schedule, and I don't work often, so the judge decided I could do all the driving. I guess because the kid goes to school 1 mile from my home and I get the benefit of being part of the town / school community they are balancing that out by giving me a commute like a full time worker o…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
