Check with a lawyer first. You’re usually protected if you go through a sperm bank / fertility clinic. Otherwise “the best interests of the child” override almost everything, including contract law.

Man, the bar is way lower after kids are out of the house. If you’re 45 or older having a career, your own hair, and your own teeth puts you halfway to rockstar. Sadly, the women chasing are single for a reason.

Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it. From 1941 to 1946, the probability of a man aged 25 - 34 to survive fell from .96 to .61. Implying roughly 40% of men that age did not survive. https://web.williams.edu/Economics/faculty/brainerd-rfwomen.pdf Edit: Russian men.

That sounds like the British suffragette movement. Feminists downplay how violent they and their Labor allies were. Arson, bombings, and street riots were a big part of the protests. Edit: https://www.thesuffragettes.org/history/key-events/

Not sure if you're referencing my comment or kugelamarnt's. The point of my comment was not to "get even". It was to point out that the Male Imperative and Female Imperative (ala The Rational Male) are very different. Tomassi argues that since only one Imperative can succeed, women must control men's sexuality. Our society's gynocentrism results in a situation where the very idea of trying to control female sexuality is taboo, and controlling male sexuality is unremarkable.

It would have to be a long con in my state. A short-term marriage, considered under five years, is less likely to result in a spousal support award. The reasoning is that spouses have had less time to become financially intertwined or economically dependent on each other. If support is granted, it is often for a very limited period, such as temporary support paid only during the divorce proceedings. For medium-term marriages, between five and twenty years, spousal support is more commonly awarde…

A tempest in a teapot. He’s in PR, and well aware that focusing on the few who disagree will generate more attention than the majority who think it’s reasonable. Nothing in that article was controversial- he believes couples should contribute in proportion to their earnings, that children (and implicitly, being a SAHM) will complicate that, and that he shouldn’t have judged her career choice. Oh, and couples talking about money before marriage is a good thing. If you fall for someone who doesn’t…

The Conversation? More like The Lecture. This is not a peer reviewed journal. It’s closer to a letter to the editor. Let’s overlook that if only one partner in a heterosexual relationship is abusive, it’s more likely to be the woman. Let’s also overlook that lesbian couples have the highest rate of intimate partner violence. IPV is definitely and exclusively a man problem, facts be damned.

Old News, my friend. Here's a study from 2012 - > This paper assesses gender disparities in federal criminal cases. It finds large gender gaps favoring women throughout the sentence length distribution (averaging over 60%), conditional on arrest offense, criminal history, and other pre-charge observables. Female arrestees are also significantly likelier to avoid charges and convictions entirely, and twice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted. Prior studies have reported much smaller sen…

There is no magic dirt in Britain. If you import Pakistanis from the poorest, extremist rural areas, ghettoize them, and expect them to hold British values, you will be disappointed. Studies in the US have shown that second and third generations of immigrants are more radical and less aligned with native values than the immigrants themselves.

Shared custody, sometimes referred to as “split custody,” involves both parents having significant, though not necessarily equal, responsibility for the child’s physical care. Joint custody, on the other hand, is primarily about the shared decision-making authority over the child’s upbringing rather than the physical division of time. Equal Custody is a subset of shared custody. In my state, joint custody is the default. Unless the magistrate decides it’s in the best interests of the children, b…
/r/MensRights19/01/25 06:15 PM
2

Not necessarily. Equal custody should be the default. “Dad gets the kids one weekend a month and every other holiday” is joint custody. That also means “Dad pays child support for the days he doesn’t have them”.
/r/MensRights19/01/25 05:00 PM
1

In the US, it’s waaaay better than it was in the 70’s. In most states equal custody is the starting point. However I was told in the county I was in the only way a man gets primary custody is if the mother agrees, is in jail or rehab, or spends a lot to prove the mother is unfit. (BTW, if she is unfit, there’s probably a disparity of incomes, which means you’re paying for her lawyer also).
/r/MensRights19/01/25 04:46 PM
6

Bullshit phrasing. The issue is with men getting primary custody, not any custody at all. Joint custody is the legal or defacto default in most states. Here’s a discussion of joint custody laws.

As for it protecting men? I'm skeptical. Equal treatment is already the law, and the 14th amendment provides the constitutional backing. Any exception to that is in favor of women, and would be under another amendment. I'm amused by the fact that they think passing the amendment would preserve abortion rights. Since they believe men can get pregnant, any abortion restriction applies to men and women equally. So no constitutional problems.

Sadly, that was one of Trump’s changes to pay for other tax cuts. Alimony is now taxed at the payer’s rate which is usually higher than the payee’s. I don’t know if formulas have been adjusted for this. If not it could easily be a 10-15% windfall for the payee.

In my state, donations through a licensed sperm bank are protected against this. It’s when some guy does a favor and donates personally that he’s exposed. Any contract the parties sign can be set aside “in the best interests of the child”. Worse, if the parent applies for state or federal aid, the government goes after child support.

I asked my doctor about this. He said part of the effect is that wives push their husbands to go to the doctor, and to make the lifestyle changes recommended. So men could get those the benefits without marrying.

Sadly, politicians and bureaucrats have made the decision that keeping a family intact is cheaper than paying welfare. You don’t get re-elected “making life harder for single mothers” and “tearing families apart”, versus “fairness for fathers”. Men are disposable.

Yep - program details. Here’s a great idea: biochemistry students had a group project to report on a condition that Ohio tests for at birth. After review by medical staff, the reports are online as a resource.

Did you know if a medical professional (doctor, nurse, genetic counselor) sees “misattributed paternity” they are not ethically required to make the parents aware, and most would not? In my state there are 43 mandatory tests that have to be performed on newborns. Some are for conditions that occur in 1 in 10000 births. “Misattributed Paternity” is not one of them despite occurring about 1 in 30 cases.

Why would I want a woman who wants to kill unborn children? Moreover, Trump's position was that Row V Wade was poor law, and needed to be returned to the states. That is accomplished, and he has not indicated he will pursue anything else. Not electing him will not change what the states do.

I think it’s hilarious. They all claim to deserve the 6-6-6 men who make up <1% of the US population. Women gain status from being desired by desirable men. Publicly claiming to reject men is an attempt to imply they are more desirable. For the record, I pledge to abstain from having sex with glamorous international supermodels unless they voted for Trump. The fact that I’ll never meet a glamorous international supermodel doesn’t diminish my moral stand!

In my state, there are something like 42 mandatory tests that have to be run on a newborn. Some of the genetic tests look for problems that occur in 1 in 100,000 births. Why wouldn’t you test for a medical trait that is incorrectly reported at least 3 in 100 times? They claim it’s to protect the newborn, but it protects the person who committed fraud more.

It wouldn’t matter. Courts have ruled that “the best interests of the child” outweigh everything else, including contract law. They justify it by saying the child is not a party to the contract (prenup), but that’s the camel’s nose in the tent. Anything that’s not “in the best interests of the child” can be modified or set aside.

Look at the poor outcomes that result from single parent families. The nuclear family serves a purpose. The extended family fills the same needs. Other social structures might but I’m skeptical they’d work in our culture. Government benefits will never equal having two caring and involved parents, nor the culture that created them.

Fair enough. This paper seems to be the source of the 3.7% number. I’m surprised we don’t have better estimates from genealogy DNA, but the paper points out that doesn’t have the attributed paternity. For example, a family raising an underage mother’s child as her sibling.
/r/MensRights14/09/24 02:48 PM

Here. 1-5%; the 30% number is from tests taken when paternity is in doubt. Still, the 3.7% number given is pretty shocking when you consider how seriously society takes mistaken maternity. A hospital that handed out the wrong baby 1 in 100 times would be sued into oblivion.

In my state, 3% is added to cover the support agency expenses. The real benefit for the state is keeping women and children off welfare programs. It’s a big enough benefit that the state tries hard to find a father, any father, to pay support. I believe there are also Federal kickbacks to states for participating.
/r/MensRights09/09/24 04:07 PM

Our politicians want to protect women from the consequences of their actions. They’re also unwilling to admit that they’re taking money from everyone to do that. So when women apply for support, the law asks “where is the father?” That’s good, why protect men from the consequences of their actions? The problem is with edge cases like this. A man is legally the father, but not morally.

Deadbeat dad is a more sympathetic story than “doesn’t pay ex wife”. In my state, spousal support is half the difference in incomes for half the length of the marriage. There’s not a lot to fight about. Once it’s ordered it doesn’t change without a visit to court and a good reason. (Salary increases on either side aren’t a good reason unless they’re large). In many cases, the salaries are equal or nearly so, and the support is not worth fighting over.

Commercial, probably. Occupancy rates for downtown buildings in major cities are plummeting, and many buildings have gone into default or will soon. Banks and Property owners are playing chicken. Building mortgages are coming due, and the buildings are worth much less than before. But banks don’t want an undervalued property, so as long as they get paid, they want to extend the mortgage until the market recovers. If a building owner can’t afford that, they default.

Ohio’s is pretty sane - you start at half the difference in incomes for half the length of the marriage. Any variation has to be justified to the magistrate. The only deficiency in my opinion is that equally shared custody is not the default.

He should write down what he remembers of the conversation. He should also look up your country’s definition of sexual harassment and the university’s. US.

I especially appreciate the women who tell us they’re “fun-loving”. Helps them stand out from the majority of women who do not like fun. /s If the only thing you have to offer is “fun-loving” and “likes to X”, I’ll pass. Estimates are paternity testing at birth would cost as little as $18. Activists in my US state have been blocked because "It's not in the best interest of the child". Courts have ruled “Where a father challenges a paternity judgment, courts have pointed to the special needs of children that must be protected, noting that consideration of what is in a child's best interests will often weigh more heavily than the genetic link between parent and child... [The courts] zealously safeguard the welfare…

Way back when dirt was new, there was an excellent manosphere discussion on female solipsism. Women, more than men, have a worldview that makes themselves the center of their attention. Edit: Found it. BTW, searching for that thread reminded me of the classic days of the manosphere, and how many good bloggers have left. Consider Ian Ironwood's experiment: I started bringing a notebook to lunch with me, and I would sit over in the corner and write stuff down. Sometimes I doodled. No big whup. Ent…

Find love in your 40's. Just don't expect to have kids: A woman’s best reproductive years are in her 20s. Fertility gradually declines in the 30s, particularly after age 35. Each month that she tries, a healthy, fertile 30-year-old woman has a 20% chance of getting pregnant. That means that for every 100 fertile 30-year-old women trying to get pregnant in 1 cycle, 20 will be successful and the other 80 will have to try again. By age 40, a woman’s chance is less than 5% per cycle, so fewer than 5…

Not quite that bad, because each person is responsible for 50%, and then custody is taken into consideration. Worst case, she gets 100% custody and he pays $500+/month + cost of insurance, plus all of her begging for school trips, clothes, etc. Best case is equal custody and he pays for insurance and out of pocket medical dental. That's why women's lawyers fight like hell to prevent equal custody.

Eric S Raymond had an excellent insight into this, almost Rollo Tomassi-like: why do so many women say they want nice guys and then sexually reward arrogant jerks? And the answer has a lot of staying power. Women are instinctive hypergamists who home in on dominance signaling the way men home in on physical pulchritude. And: they’re self-deceivers – their optimal mating strategy is to sincerely promise fidelity to hook a good-provider type while actually being willing to (a) covertly screw any…

Perhaps he couldn't afford a divorce. Those get a bit expensive when you've got children. FTFY. In my state, spousal support is half the difference in incomes for half the length of the marriage. Child support is almost $1000 per month for a household making the median income of $52K per year. Plus the employed partner is usually on the hook for providing insurance, which means paying "family" vs "single" rates. You know why divorce is so expensive? Because it's worth it!

Iron Rule of Tomassi #3 Any woman who makes you wait for sex, or by her actions implies she is making you wait for sex; the sex is NEVER worth the wait. > When a woman makes you wait for sex you are not her highest priority. Sexuality is a spontaneous chemical reaction between two parties, not a process of negotiation. It’s sex first, then relationship, not the other way around. A woman who wants to fuck you will find a way to fuck you. She will fly across the country, crawl under barbwire, clim…

The problem with stereotypes isn’t that they’re not accurate, it’s that the exceptions resent being lumped in with the majority. 92% of biracial children with African American fathers are born out of wedlock, with Caucasian mothers leading in that percentage [at 97%]. 90% of women who have children out of wedlock with African American men will not end up marrying that man, where as 10% will wed, yet those that wed, or do have their children in wedlock, typically end up a single mother nonetheless…

Yep got bit by that. I got laid off at 55 when the company figured out they could hire five workers overseas for what they were paying me. The court said “Your salary history shows you should be making $120,000. You are free to take a job paying less, but support will be based on that number.”
/r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen16/06/19 02:41 PM

In my state, you’re required to pay the amount set by the court. Get fired? Tough shit. Want a job that pays less, but offers better quality of life for the kids? Fine, but the amount you pay isn’t going to change. Get disabled? She gets first shot at the disability pay unless you go to court and they agree circumstances have changed. The only way out is to die. Oh, wait, she has a claim against your estate for all the child and spousal support you would have paid.

In the US, both Federal and many states have magistrates. In federal court, magistrates assist district judges. Handling pretrial matters, discovery and post-trial relief are part of their duties. These judges also hear some civil and misdemeanor criminal trials, along with habeus corpus petitions, which are requests for a new trial because new evidence may indicate that a convicted criminal might be innocent. It’s not fair, but it is common. In my US state, the magistrate works from an “imputed” income, which is basically what they believe you should be able to earn. By law certain types of disability payments are not allowed to be considered as income. Magistrates routinely include them in CS calculations, because in Family Court “the best interests of the mother child” override the law.

In my state, the Notice of Eviction can give a grace period of as little as three days, although magistrates look a little more kindly on 14 or more. At the graduate school level, The gender breakdown of men and women in psychology departments is approximately 75 percent female students to 25 percent male students. This three-to-one ratio has remained constant over a ten-year timeframe, when data from 2004-05 and 2009-10 is analyzed with the current year’s data. 2017 data.

She’s 57. It’s an ironic flip of the truism that women believe 80% of men are below average in attractiveness. Men in general find 80% of women who are much older than them below average in attractiveness. Men in that age range (and I’m one) find 80% of women who are their age or older than them below average in attractiveness. I date 10-15 years below my age as the best mix of physical attraction and maturity. Think she’d date a 67-73 year old man?

Left and Right are inadequate descriptors. During the 1960’s most unions were “left” economically but pro-capitalist, yet “right” Socially, culturally and staunchly anti-communist. Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” Robert Heinlein

Remember that women think men are like them but imperfectly so? For example, women assuming men look for the things in women that women look for in men - career, status, leadership, instead of youth and companionship? Women are very attuned to what their peers think and do. They transfer that belief by trying to convince men to date single moms by trying to convince men that’s what their peers would do, or that their peers will think less of them if they don’t.

In my state, the rule of thumb is half the difference in incomes for half the length of the marriage. If one party wasn’t working, they “impute” an income and assume an amount they could make full time. Having physical custody of children isn’t factored in, since child support is assumed to cover it. Doctors in the US don't make it easy for Doctors from elsewhere to practice here. Even if grads of foreign medical schools pass the required exams, they often have to redo their residency, and compete with US graduates for slots. Research that before you marry.

Actually you will most likely get the swimmers back if you do the reversal, but they might not be as potent, especially after 10 years. You and I have different definitions of "most likely": In general, vasectomy reversal: Leads to overall pregnancy rates of greater than 50%. Has the greatest chance of success within 3 years of the vasectomy. Leads to pregnancy only about 30% of the time if the reversal is done 10 years after vasectomy. Self improvement and de-escalating in a marriage are both soft dread techniques. If a partner has maneuvered you into a weak position, the last thing they want is for things to change. Raising your SMV (via self improvement) or removing the power she has to deny sex or affection (by de-escalating physically, checking out emotionally, or spending time on things you value) set her hamster spinning, and she imagines radical and unpleasant change. OMG, is he gonna cheat? Dump me?

If it were me, and I was set on law school, I'd try to figure out what to expect getting out. Look at graduates from the school you want to go to. Don't look at the average, because schools cheat in order to increase their ranking. Look at quartiles. What percentage of the top 25% of graduates found a job, and what is their average salary? Do the same for the 50-75%, 25-50% and 0-25% bracket. Then remember, everyone else in your class will be like you. If you get into a top ten school, everyone …

Think about it, in most cases, the popular kids in high school were generally popular because their parents were wealthy and laid back That's a comforting thought, but it lets a lot of us of the hook. It allows us to believe things are out of our control. "Oh, it's not my fault I'm not popular because... ". Reject that mindset. Popular kids were popular because of who they were and what they did. Women thrive on the ambiguity of the friendzone. "I thought he was just being nice", "We're just friends, so I can ask him for favors". It's a strong indication she's already "dated" other guys, and does not want to continue feeling guilty.

It's worse than you describe. In my state alimony / spousal support may terminate if she remarries but child support continues until 18 (and sometimes longer if the child is in college or disabled).

And 10 more but that was oral, so they don't count. And of course, vacations, well they don't count, nor when "it just happened" or when he got me drunk.

It's hard, man. I divorced after 32 years together. She moved out and gave me an "or else". I realized we were both much happier and told her I was getting a divorce.

"Wow, you make marriage seem so attractive. I can't wait!" "Yeah, many women seem to blimp up once they're off the market. How disrespectful!" "Ok, so our prenup is going to have a no weight gain, must wear makeup clause."

Read about the "sunk cost fallacy". It doesn't matter how much you invested in her in the past.

This is brilliant. Retarded stepchild - you want to be kindly, but set a boundary and not let her manipulate you. Don't do anything for her you wouldn't do for a stranger. Don't go out of your way to notice or ignore her.

If they're acting like women, treat them like women. The same RP tactics, the same attitude. IDGAF and outcome independence applies to all your relationships. Family thinks you should settle down? Tough, it's not their life. Stick up for yourself. They think you're being an asshole? Good, they're less likely to argue about it. PS - start reading Dalrock. He discusses TRP as it relates to traditional Christian values.

Yes ... In my pinkie. That's the gayest left pinkie you'll ever see. Does buttsex count? Cuz your ass is not bad. Oh no, I can't do women's hair to save my life. Yes, I'm a lesbian.

She's trying to keep you in the "just friends" box, aka orbiter. Your choices are to accept it, cut off contact, or escalate. Personally, I'd soft next until she initiates, then escalate.

He definitely choose the wrong place to play. If there's blood in the water and sharks are circling, there is no right place to play. It started with one or two articles calling Jian creepy, then an allegation, then it snowballed. All it took was the group mind reaching a consensus to flip "cool" to "creepy" to "criminal".

And if she threatens to harm herself, call the police. Do not interact with her. If she mentions suicide or something life threatening, call 911 or the local equivalent. If it is some other harm, call the non-emergency number and ask who to call. This has two effects: it documents her behavior and the consequences lessen the likelihood that she will attempt to use that tactic to manipulate you.

A woman decides within minutes of meeting you what category you fit - hot, friend (beta), loser. You can change her perception, but you're in a category from the first impression. The three date rule isn't an iron law but has two good points. If sex is your goal, it encourages you to escalate and work towards the goal. Second, it forces you to assess if you are in the friendzone and not waste time if you are. If you are interacting with a woman, she's getting something out of it - validation, at…
