I'll ask what I asked another contributor: Here's my experience: There are two main groups that need advice. The ones that need to hang more positive things on their scaffolding, increasing his or hers attractiveness. Then there are people that is lacking the scaffolding itself. The later group might even have tons of good stuff to bring but they never get anywhere at all, usually because they are genuinely clueless about this stuff. My theory is that they never been introduced, in their home or…

All of these advice are great life advice in general. But there are tons of people that live that kind of life without much success in the mating game and there are tons of bores that have an active dating life. Can you be more specific in your advice? How do you get to a place where your advice matter?

There is a hypothetical male, ted, who decided to take your advice and abandon all attempts at introspection, self improvement, or finding meaning in his dating life. All such effort will instead be directed at simply meeting more women. That's.... not what I am saying. I am saying that whatever type meaning, self improvement and introspection you choose is completely meaningless. If you know how to date, you can find a mate with your philosophy, whatever that might be. Consequently ted has met …

There are sexual things that, if she tried to to me, would make the most gorgeous woman completely unattractive. Or, at least, the level of attractiveness would be so high that it could never be attained by a mortal, rendering it moot anyway. Some people have different ick-levels

So, theoretically, if the girl is hot enough, you would let her peg you?

Want a wife? Gotta act like husband material, and vice versa. What you need is the fundamentals to even get there. From there it's simply a matter of degrees and ambition. If you want a hotter wife, have to be hotter husband material, and thanks to TRP (arguably) we have a picture of what that entails. If you want to get a suitable mate, you need to actually be able to do meet them. That is the main thing I see people fail at. Looking for some deeper meaning in the failure or success in that end…

Why do you think that the person isn't sexually attracted to the spouse and not in the act?

I am not so sure about that. Both of you guys are bickering about how to describe the same system, instead of talking about the system itself. I remember a seminar by a young woman that lived with the Zulu peoples for a school project. She was amazed when she discovered that awkward young people(awkward elders too) were taught the social dance by the rest of the village. The funny thing was that it was so natural and laid back. A woman might have just started laughing and corrected a guys advanc…

I don't think that TRP/PUA are malicious against the people it is trying to help. I just think that, like most of the self help industry, it's more of a religious experience then concrete. it might be helpful to a lot of people, but it's helpful in a very convoluted way, like a shamanistic ritual. Compare that to western medicine, where you take a pill, and go about your day. It is probably overwhelming for somebody that just want's some specific help.

/u/TheGreasyPole I think both sides are trying to help out. Both are off the mark, in my opinion. Both of you are standing on bad foundations, honestly. This is something that I find funny in these discussions, you bicker about these very vague ideas but you are silently agreeing on the substantive stuff. In this you are both different twists on the same theme.

Most studies I have seen shows the opposite: You lose IQ, health, happiness, etc. when you are alone. We have a modicum of control over how we would like to express our own nature. If you aren't careful you could set up a game where everybodys experience is a net loss.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
