Don’t give up. Fight. I am in the thick of it myself but you are stronger than you know. I have to keep telling myself, “This too shall pass”! The since October I have had multiple deaths of people a care deeply about. Had a child stop talking with me and move out filling lies from the group that supported my ex. Lost so much in divorce and found out the more than the last 6 years have been a lie and I face a possible cancer diagnosis. And still I stand (more like limp). You can too. DM me if ne…

That is a very tough place to be in. In honesty my divorce is very fresh. From what you are saying divorce seems extreme. I was in a similar situation and didn’t understand but revelation over that past few weeks brought to light affairs for multiple years with multiple partners. It explained why things like counseling/therapy never worked. It explained shifts in personality/character. I am in no way inferring that your marriage is the same as mine was. I wish that upon no one. I am only stating…

I unfortunately am now divorced but you don’t have to share in that same fate. In your post you have not mentioned why he wants divorce. That why is important. You don’t have to answer that question here but it needs to be answered with full and complete honesty. DM if you would like to speak more.

This is the way. By looking back you are setting yourself up for more pain.

This is what you caught. Probably more that you missed. It isn’t worth it. If she wants out let her go. The longer you try to keep her the more she will be rewarded when she walks out. Learn from my mistakes. I tried to keep family together for the kids and she will walk away with more than I ever expected and people say “I am winning”. No one wins at this game. Best to cut your loses.

Keep moving forward brother. I am still at the early stages (inside of the divorce). I’m praying for you to keep marching on and praying that I can find who I am from her after 20+ years married. It’s all good. Hoping that I can find happiness and peace outside this mess. Your story brings hope. Keep up the good work. 💪🏾

This describes my stbxw perfectly. Instagram mom but when the kids need something they have to call me. Simple things like dinner aren’t even done when I am not present.

In Ohio here. 1 year alimony for every 3 married. After 20 years it’s up to judge.

This is it. I am struggling myself and I am in therapy! Although it is easier said than done, this is it brother, the cold, hard truth. We would do well to remember it.

I hope I get there one day. She just filed. I see the judge later this month. By word or mouth I found a good lawyer but my case doesn’t look good because I took care of everything so in Ohio’s eyes she needs my support. Thought about offing myself so she wouldn’t get a dime but we have kids I don’t think she cares about the kids more than she cares about the money. I have a long road ahead. I am trying to just take it one day at a time. Be a good father and stay positive that this too will pass…
