About 4 years after a 20 year marriage ended. I tell men that somehow if you can keep your marriage, try. Rebuilding a life after divorce is much more difficult than it seems

This is the right answer and the best advice

Don’t. You honestly have to forget that this person exists, it’s just now paperwork. Creating a new life is the best thing to do

Do 4 things. Eat healthy foods, get outdoors to walk, don’t drink alcohol and strengthen your community network of friends and acquaintances.

I did. It was based solely on a good financial plan.

If you’re serious. He is honest advice. Try to work on your relationship. Once your child are over the age of 6 years, it gets easier. You don’t want to be in parenting custody for almost 20 years. This may sound weird , but if there is any chance, try to hold your relationship together.

Zero. People just don’t want to get divorced again so they tolerate more than the first time

I honestly feel for guys that are blindsided. I hated my ex wife and when she said she was leaving, I asked to make sure that the door is locked on her way out

Next, and this is important. You have to deal with this like a death. The person who you know is no longer alive, dead. Grieve if you need to, but you have to start thinking about how you are going to unwind this situation slowly and rationally

Let’s start with why is she leaving you? You sound like a devoted husband and father

Cleveland area, other than that, I would stay in Florida.

I had something similar. I bought out the equity with a refinance and took the house. It saved selling costs and after 4 years still living in the house, it was worth it.

And…. do not use alcohol, drugs or women you meet at the bar to drown out your pain. You need to be sharp.

Okay. This is the answer. Get a female lawyer with a minimum 10 years experience in family, next complete the asset disclosure process, next tell your ex wife, or have your lawyer do it through her attorney, that the remaining residual value you each have will be gone unless you settle outside of court. And

She out smarted you, you need a better lawyer

I’ll give you advice with these questions- Is your net worth greater than $2 million, are you a business owner and do you have money saved in far away places?

When you ask, you already know she’s asking the same question

Solved. Live permanently on a bus and keep touring doing music gigs indefinitely.

No one is nagging, complaining about me, or giving me the cold shoulder. I am looking forward to peace and focusing on improving myself. Because I learned that I am the only one I can count on.

I would share this same advice to a friend. Your relationship is over, there is wreckage in the past that was traumatic. Both of you need to move in separate directions to restart life. If you become codependent, you are putting your life in jeopardy by way of drugs, alcohol, or mental illness.

No. And don’t fall for anything she says about being friends. Move out as soon as financially possible and then communicate only by text. You’ll thank me one day
