No of course not. It’s a well known fact. Proximity to sheep lowers libido. That’s why Jesus known for being a shepherd. So he could be unburdened by worldly desires. Focus on spirituality

No. I wouldn’t share. It’s none of their business or mine. I had kids with this person. I have to live with that. What would I really do with the information anyway? If she brings unsafe people into my children world there is nothing I can do until something happens.

So I joined a 12 step for codependency. They tough me about family dynamics around addiction. How it affects us. Essentially when you are the child or an addicted person. Or a narcissist. Your needs take second place to there need to feed addiction. I learned to repress my emotions and put others needs before my own. I got into relationships with people that liked that hierarchy. The problem I ran into as a giver is you can only give so much. There is no limit to how much a taker will take. When…

Your dad gave you personally a gift. Or was it a gift for both of you? I’m not judging. Your story sounds lot like mine. After being gaslit for years about what a narcissist I was. I started talking online tests to see if I was. The first thing I learned was narcissist to take tests to see if they are one. After looking a little deeper I found out I was codependent. And tended to have long term relationships with adult children of alcoholics. The entire” happy wife happy life “ line is the most …

The only way this works is if your and their ego is in check. That rarely happens. The ex and whoever they date isn’t accountable to the person. There is nothing to be gained over this.

She would be entitled to say no. No matter what his opinion of this guy is. Everything that happens on her parenting time is out of his control. So even if he meets this guy he’s powerless to change anything

Your feelings are valid. You have every right to feel how you feel. But choose opinion A Who your ex dates is none of your business. What she does on her parenting time is none of your business. . Find a constructive way to address your resentment. Put all your efforts into building your self up.

You can define what a happy loving relationship is for you. It’s not just about romantic relationships. If you say you are a “ door Matt”. You can learn to create and hold boundaries. Learn about ways you allow people to manipulate you and how you manipulate others. Learn what an enmeshed relationship is romantic or otherwise. It changed my perspective on the world and who I am in it.

Try coda. It’s a 12 step for codependency. The only requirement for attending is wanting a healthy loving relationship.

Dude. I hear this. I have no idea how they calculate child support. I was paying 50% of my net to child support. Living off 1200 a month. Riding my bike 100km a week. I had my kids 35% of the time. And paying for court. I was right in the edge of just pan handling and collecting bottles. What is the point of working 40-50 hours a week for 1000?

Leave her. That’s a major red flag. If she’s harbouring resentment towards your child.

No. Not at all. Marriage is an old fashioned out dated concept. Marriage is a business agreement with a 50% ( probably more) chance of failure. When it does fail it’s a spectator financial emotional set back.people just use there children as tools to inflict emotional pain. I doubt I will ever even live with another woman.lots of people are talking shit about prenuptial or cohabitation agreement. Even with those things it’s not worth it. Divorce will still cost you obscene amounts of money. Chil…

But you aren’t a loyal husband. You have poor impulses control. And no dick discipline. Your virtues of character don’t outweigh your defects of character.

Family lawyers don’t care what you are willing to pay. They know how much money you have. How much you make. They intend to take it all. You don’t have a choice. Once I realized this, that it wasn’t in my control I was at peace with it.

There are no strategies. You will have to self represent. I’m in the same boat. Narcissistic people don’t see you as an equal. They will always be there to throw sand in the gears. Just because they can. You have to always fight for basic equality. You have to always do your best for your kids. That being said your best isn’t always going to be what you think it is. Counselling is key, you want as much impartial 3 rd party influence. Surrender trying to control the situation.

I’m in the Same boat. We do a 3/4 split but I pay full child support and don’t collect child tax or get to claim them. I go to the food bank regularly. Walk ride my bike. Working harder or more is not the answer. At this point it puts you in a higher tax / support bracket. Thin of inventive ways to get by. Being poor sucks. But it’s not the worst thing to happen. Good luck.

This is good advice. I have support from a coda group I’m involved in. I did talk to my sponsor. I think I just hit a real low spot after having police at my home agin. I thought my kids might avoid this drama. But I can see that’s not possible. Thanks for reaching out. I’ll definitely look into the other groups. You are correct having a supportive community is key.

I don’t think you understand the abuse. The toll it takes on me. I can’t feel safe around my children because I don’t know what they will say to there mom. I don’t know what she coaches them to say. It is depressing as fuck. The levels of depression I have to navigate have prevented me from working. You can think what you want.

I don’t disagree. But reading this really makes me sad. I desperately want to be able to trust someone I love. Humanity is so toxic. And I know you are right. We don’t value people for who they are. This is sad.

I’m codependent and let my ex rule my life. After we had children she decided she didn’t want to work. It was my responsibility to cover all a bills. But I wasn’t allowed to drive the car or budget are finances. She borrowed money from friends and family with out my knowledge. They came to me to pay them back. I told them I had no knowledge of it. And refused. She told police/ well fair I physically abused her so she would be at the top of the list to receive aid and low income housing. We recei…
