Lmao funny story one of the big reasons I broke up with my ex is because he would burp AWFUL smelling burps in my face even after I told him to turn his head 💀💀

But a man that wants to woo you is not taking you to a sandwich shop or drinks... That's a man that's trying to do the bare minimum to get into your pants, even better if you pay half for it! I understand your view point but men don't see a woman paying as her showing affection. They see "oh, looks like I'm gonna get to do the bare minimum for this one, she doesn't have standards". And a man isn't going to go 50/50 on the first date then pay the second. The moment you go 50/50 you've set the ton…

It's infuriating to see your beautiful friends grasp at CRUMBS and then come tell you about it. Why send the screenshots and ask for advice if they never fucking listen? I have two friends that are doing this right now and I just stop engaging when they bring up their dating life.

Thank you that was exactly what I was looking for, after the first episode when they hint that the dudes smoking outside are going to take an interest in her when she goes to the high school, combined with the pill thing, I was like ehh do I trust where this is going? I hate when media uses rape and assault to break down a woman for cHarActEr deVeLopMeNt.

Lol she's right.. feminism makes us play the role of the woman and the man. But it also gave us financial freedom, the ability to divorce your husband, the ability to have a job. Feminism isn't the problem, the problem is that men exploit feminism to do less while women do more.

In regards people saying "well if you want xyz, just ask, I'm not a mind reader!" I shouldn't have to ask for flowers on my birthday, ask for nice date once in a while, ask for my partner to do the dishes or clean up after themselves. Women are not project managers for men, it is not their responsibility to identify everything that needs to be done and then delegate. Saying "just ask" is another way men escape responsibility for anything they don't want to do, make you spoon feed them instructio…

Exactly, one comment should be enough for them to snap into action. I know if my partner (or friend, or employer, or anyone I respect/want to be respected by) gave me a piece of criticism, I would never make that mistake again. And if I did, I would recognize it without them having to tell me, apologize, and then REALLY never do it again. It just comes down to respect

I love this. Your last point about the picture reminded me of how my LVM ex would behave around gifts. He would get me something shitty, then tell me about all the other ideas he had (that were actually amazing ideas and something I genuinely would have wanted!), with excuses of why he thought they wouldn't be good gifts. I knew it was just that he didn't want to put in the effort but wanted the brownies points of having the idea. But an HVM would just follow through without any of the posturing…

Having a good job, a well kept home, being respectful, reasonably attractive, good texter, and takes you out on nice dates... I would say that's the bare minimum. If any one of those was missing it's an automatic no. Otherwise if there are no glaring red flags, I would consider seeing that person until I do see a red flag.

Because it's just a way for someone to invalidate and distract from the issue. Not all men, so what? It doesn't change the fact that there's a problem. It's just something men say to shield themselves from any responsibility and distance themselves from "those" men, as if they are not part of the problem. Same as saying "all lives matter". It has nothing to do with the issue. We're not talking about all lives, we're talking about black lives. Similarly, we're not talking about all men, we're tal…

I moved on by realizing that him mistreating me and not valuing me doesn't mean that I don't have value. He isn't the one who decides I have value. And maybe he's taking the new girl to meet his parents cause he's love bombing and future faking her. He'll cheat on her in 6mo too. It's not you. It's him. One day you will look back and have so much clarity, you'll realize that you used every excuse to make yourself believe it was your fault, that you were the problem, that you should have looked o…

If it's not too personal, could you give some examples of what kind of ups and downs they have gone through (in a general sense)? I like hearing about real life examples of what kind of work goes into a healthy HV relationship. Because when people say "relationships take work" I feel like they always mean "the guy is trash and the woman needs to suck it up", and rarely do we hear about the work that HV couples also need to do at times.

You don't need this confusion in your life. The possible options 1) he wanted you to say "oh, you can't commit because of visa issues? Let's just have casual sex then". When you didn't say that his plan backfired and now he's trying to rope you back in. Or, 2) he's telling the truth in which case his life is a mess and he needs to get his shit together before being a good boyfriend. Either way girl, he's not worth your precious time. Thank u, next! 💅

I'm in Seattle... And I was just talking to my roommate last night about how we can't even remember the last time we saw an attractive dude in real life 😂 I think the OLD scene isn't as awful as some other places since there's so many men. But if you don't want to OLD, people in Seattle are kind of standoffish and never strike up conversations, so if a guy does approach me I'm way more suspicious than I am flattered. But all that said, I'm currently not dating and before that I was in a relation…

No, you don't owe him anything. His reputation is not your responsibility. He most likely wants a reaction out of you, for you to go "omg what could he have heard, let me re-think every interaction I've had related to him and make sure I haven't hurt his feelings". He thinks you care, or he's trying to get you to care. So you be indifferent, show him you don't have a care in the world what he thinks of you, what is happening in his personal life, etc. Did he say let's meet up, or have a phone ca…

Proud of you!!! But beware, he's going to come back. He assumes your standards are so low that you'll take him back after this "punishment" of ghosting you. Trust me, you'll get an email, or a message through his friends account, he'll find some way to contact you if he's blocked, because he thinks he can treat you like shit then come back and "make up" and carry on. Be prepared for when this happens. Don't tell him what he did wrong, because that leaves room for him to negotiate, to say he'll d…

Why do you need to let him down if you're not together and you're not talking? Sounds like you want an excuse to be able to talk to him perhaps. Keep him blocked, move on. The fact that you have "history" is reason enough.

Girl, it wasn't overthinking and anxiety, it was him being too chicken shit to properly break up with you so he put on a show. Don't reach out, he's probably going to text you in 6mo to "catch up" but he will be looking for an easy lay. Instead you should uncover why you feel like this guy is "the one" and what you are feeling like you are lacking, that he provided to make you feel that way 💕

Your gut already knows. Listen to it. The dreams are your instincts telling you to listen to what your body is telling you. When you're in a relationship and nothing is very obviously wrong but you just feel in your gut that something isn't right, its hard to listen to and break up over it. But me, and every other woman who has listened to that instinct, will tell you that afterwards, you will know that you were right to honor it, and it will teach you to never doubt your gut again. Female insti…

Wow, then I'm so happy you were able to realize what you deserved and got out of there! I ask because I hear so many stories of marrying someone and having the LV traits really show up after kids, and I was curious if you can tell something is wrong or if you subconsciously bury it and attribute it to the stress of marriage/kids/life. I'm happy it resonated. The only reason I know this is because I am still transitioning from being like this as well. Being caring, empathetic, generous, and kind make you an amazing friend-- to people that deserve it. When you honor yourself, love yourself, think you are the ultimate prize, you realize that this makes you an amazing partner, parent, and friend. And that you are so amazing and valuable for being so caring, that this is not something you can just give to anyone that asks! This is yours, it is your gift,…

I mean this with the best intentions: they're right, you are the problem. He's taking advantage of you. But you're the one offering, saying yes, sacrificing yourself for other people that would never do the same for you. When stuff like this happens I try to respond with what a HVM would do, instead of entertaining whatever pick-me tendency the other person is feeling. Example: my friend recently texted me about how her ex from 3 years ago is "insta official" with his new girlfriend of over a year. Lol yes, when people say "I feel attacked" 🙄 way to immediately make yourself the victim in a situation where YOU did something wrong, and invalidate everything the other person said. Guess what asshole, sometimes you ARE being attacked, because you suck!! Deal with it or gtfo

Wow, so apologetic. It reminds me of myself when I had zero boundaries and would feel bad for calling out people that hurt me, because I didn't want them to feel bad. It's an entirely different and more fulfilling world on the other side, I hope she finds it.

Ugh honestly if he can't even control himself on the second date it doesn't bode well. If he did it now, you'll be catching him doing it every day. It made you uncomfortable, so stick to your boundaries.

Ugh thats awful. And having the red light district is probably what makes it so bad in the first place. They see a set of women they feel they don't need to respect because they'll give them sex, and that mentality doesn't stop once they leave the district, it's one that extends to any woman they see thereafter.

You are going to feel SO much relief when you do it girl, trust me. It's going to feel so good, you will feel so free, and all the doubt will disappear. You will immediately know that it was the right decision deep down. You will be able to reconcile loving him with releasing him from your life for your own peace. All of it will fall into place but first you have to take this step. Hype yourself up and get it over with, so that you can level up the way you are ready to!! Here's to the first of m…

I agree, like /u/Alma00019 said I felt like the latter half the book was targeted towards women that had already married LVM and I was almost getting tired just reading about the emotional energy it would take to do some of the stuff she was describing. Like switching up your schedule, taking weekend trips to make him miss you, etc. I suppose at the end of the day it can be summed up to "match his energy" which is what we talk about here too, but fuck doing that with a husband.

You play dumb fox until you hear something you don't want to hear. Them asking how you can keep them entertained is a sign of a LVM. No need to play dumb fox when they already told you what you needed to hear

LOL what?!! Yes putting pictures of your kids on Facebook is an attack on men jerking off to your profile, because women would surely put their kids in that position. Not to mention that this whole discussion is under the assumption that jerking off to someone's Facebook profile is a normal thing to do. My brain cannot even compute....

I had a really shitty fwb situation with this dude who was using me, and when I found FDS I told him to get lost. He still follows me on Instagram and I find myself posting stories that I want to to respond to, just so that I can ignore him. I'm so angry at myself for allowing him to treat me the way he did, and some part of me feels like having him reach out and then me not responding is a way to get back at him, to empower myself after he treated me so poorly. But I know I should just block an…

I'm sure it's the fact that you had no interest that made him crawl back.. Imagine if you kept texting him, wanting him to still be into you, he would have sensed the desperation, dragged the whole thing along, and known that this is a girl he can use. Anyways I'm sure you know this 😂 lol but verbalizing it is so helpful for my brain just to reinforce why FDS really works and why being able to say "bye" the moment you're unsatisfied is the greatest power there is!

I agree, and also I find that we are conditioned by all the bad experiences to jump at at any decent proposal even if we don't want it. This dude at whole foods asked me for my number once, and he wasn't my type at all, but was really respectful and nice so I gave it to him, then had to go though all the trouble of telling him I'm not interested when he texted me. Afterwards I was like 🤦🏻 wtf girl, just because someone is nice to you doesn't mean you have to give them what they want!! We are the…

Exactly, it is yet another system created by men and upheld by the patriarchy that dehumanizes women. A woman's beauty simply cannot be captured by a number.

I like this advice, hopefully after rediscovering how it feels to be organically turned on and you fulfill it, it's a feeling that becomes a lot more common and easy. I'm working on this myself. If I'm not seeing anyone and performing in any way, I only have the urge to masturbate like twice a month at most.

Awesome post! One thing I have trouble with in practice, is when we are in situations where these things could occur, it's going to be in a private place, ie. grinding/massages/cuddles can only happen in the privacy of one of your homes. How do you do make your boundaries clear, that you are ok with these things but not sex? I feel like in these situations one thing always leads to another, and combined with my inability to speak up for what I want (working on it!) I would always just end up hav…

I've recently had many many therapy sessions dealing with a close friend that was also problematic. What I learned is that you have to do what will give you the most peace. In my case, I eventually had to ditch her. If you don't want to ditch her you need to work on setting boundaries with her. Notice how she fell over herself apologizing when you spoke up, the more you draw boundaries, one of three possible things will happen. 1) she complys 2) she doesn't want to deal with it and she leaves 3)…

Unfortunately those are all LVM. And they're not rejecting you, you're rejecting them because they don't meet your standards. Maybe take a week or so to take a break from dudes and double down on self care/journaling/affirmations... Whatever helps remind you of why you're worthy of the respect you want. Get back into that Queen headspace, so that brushing these losers off feels like nothing.

My ex would get a beer/wine every time we went out to eat, which was often. He also frequently went to happy hours and would have multiple beers. He didn't drink at home, but the drinking I saw him do was more than I would like in a partner. I would hate it so much when he drank beer because he would burp a ton and it would smell AWFUL. I never knew how to bring it up except going "ew, don't burp in my face", to which he would respond "I did it out of my nose, it traps the smell!" 🤢🤮 Ugh, never …

And the shitty thing is that when you're a pick-me, you think the way you get a guy to like you/commit to you is by showing him you're "confident" and "fun" by sleeping with him. Being a pick-me is lose lose and while this dude's comment is hard to read it's ultimately how many men think and the reality we live in Edit: I'm talking mostly about the end of his comment, the top bits about women being prudes but also having to put out makes zero sense

I feel like once you give a certain type of guy the idea that it takes xyz to have sex with you, they're not going to entertain you changing your standards (which you are completely within your right to do, obviously). So I really wouldn't have too many expectations with this dude. The reason he's texting you so much is because he knows the routine at this point and wants to get laid. You can tell him you're not interested in hooking up and are looking for a relationship to see if he pursues, bu…

It's definitely one of my 'pick me' tendencies. I have to be nice to everyone and like everyone no matter how they treat me because friendships and attention are scarce, nobody likes me, I need to hang on to whoever wants to associate with me, etc. Well, that's not true, and even if it is true, I'm more than ok with being by myself for a bit so that I can find friendships that truly add to my life 🙌 I recently let go of an emotionally draining friend that was causing me so much grief... I feel s…

I feel this.. my ex would also gaslight me and tell me how I was insecure when I would constantly see signs of him cheating. Eventually I went to therapy to figure out my "insecurities" and even my therapist told me he probably isn't cheating, instead of telling me to trust my instincts. Well ultimately he was, and I'm SO happy that now I have the validation to listen to my gut and trust the signs I saw, and hopefully I never ever trust someone's words over my own instinct, because I truly belie…

Wow, that sounds awful, I'm so sorry you experienced that. The way he was negging you about being anxious and nervous when he was putting you in a situation where your instincts are telling you that you SHOULD be nervous is honestly so dangerous and I can completely see how someone could get sucked into a situation like that, especially the way you described him doing it slowly with the passport/ID excuse, fake roommates, pushing wine, etc. It's one little thing after the other and before you kn…
