I went through a year and a half's worth of train wreck dates thanks to OLD. I started thinking there was something seriously wrong with me (because OLD is supposed to be the golden standard for dating, barf) Then I started dating offline, and had perfectly normal, lovely experiences. There is something seriously wrong with the men on OLD. I don't know if men are more susceptible to getting addicted to dopamine hits and OLD plays on that, but none of the men I met wanted anything serious (consta…

I was somehow responsible for all the cleaning, meanwhile my ex couldn't even be bothered to change a lightbulb or put air in my tires.

I got kneed in the lower abdomen by a boy once. I was maybe 10 or 11. Hurt so bad it left me breathless. Later I retaliated by kicking him in the crotch. He folded like a cheap camping chair. But I'm the one who got chastised because I "could have done a lot of damage". Well, what about the damage to my internal organs, fucker?

What kind of work did you do on yourself? This is an issue for me and I'm trying to change my attachment style to secure.

Absolutely. Can't say that it didn't hurt, because I lost someone who I thought was my friend in the process, but I didn't need that energy in my life.

This really spoke to me. Had a thing for a guy who confessed he liked trashy, emotionally unstable/dramatic girls. He ended up picking a girl with borderline personality disorder over me. I think I dodged a bullet.

I did. Friend turned into an orbiter and into a lover. He was 4 points under me on the attractiveness scale, according to him (he was big into ratings but yeah his ratings were accurate). Told me he couldn't commit because he was afraid he'd disappoint me even though he supposedly wanted me so much. He also cheated on his previous LTR and had issues with alcohol and money management. That one hurt because he was a friend first. But he ended up manipulating me to raise his own self-esteem, turns …

I fucking hated this. My ex would grab my ass or boobs when I was in the middle of cleaning. He wouldn't do any chores at all and I was responsible for everything. Like a butt grab would make me drop everything when I was busy and exhausted.

My marriage and ex-husband were extremely similar to yours. Just so you know, ALL my chronic health issues went into remission within about a year of splitting up. Making that leap (divorce) is extremely scary, as times are uncertain and you've probably also been gaslit into thinking you couldn't make it on your own, but trust me. Saving yourself and leaving is the only way. Just keep working at it but eventually you will have to go or you will die prematurely - I'm not kidding or trying to be d…

Reminds me of when I got married. We were young, broke, and he lost his job. I pawned my engagement ring so he could afford some extra schooling. Not only he never finished school because he was lazy as shit, but he never replaced my ring even though he promised he would when things got better financially. It was a 1k diamond solitaire. Years later, we were experiencing problems, unsurprisingly, and I reminded him of the ring and his broken promise. I got a $80 amethyst ring from overstock.com. …

Beauty standards where I live have gotten insane and impossible to reach - I'm talking the "thicc" look with a tiny waist and big peach butt. Brazilian butt lifts and extreme waist reductions (where the surgeon has to break one of your ribs) is common. Meanwhile, it feels like men are looking sloppier and sloppier. Things are starting to look really fucky on the dating market.

The LVM I fell for before discovering FDS used a variant of this - that he had made a lot of women angry through his life. This was on our first meeting. My reply was "aww, I could never be mad at you". If only I could go back and slap myself.

I wasn't even that picky when I started dating. I kept an open mind. I just expected you to be decent human beings, with your shit together. This is a huge issue for me. I know of exactly one man who is tidy and organized. Sorry, guys, but I shouldn't be afraid to use the bathroom at your place. I'm not being picky either, I know many dudes who haven't cleaned their kitchen or bathroom within the last 6 months. This is not okay.

Honestly, I know it makes me petty but I love it when it happens. My ex-husband moved to the ghetto with a LVW right after our breakup. Another ex who broke my heart is paying spousal and child support, is in trouble at his job, and lives in a 3 bedroom with 6 other people. They have no self-esteem. They think they're worthy because the guy "chose" them over his own wife. Guess what, he ain't choosing shit, he's just having his cake and eating it too. And if by some miracle he ends up leaving his wife, he'll cheat on you down the road too.

All the info was public record. Court docs, social media and I'm generally very good at finding stuff. It's possible your guy adopts a completely different personality when he's out and about around other people. Status is very important to some people and they will play a certain role. You most likely saw the true him, in an intimate setting, with his guard down, and it wasn't pretty. Someone who acted the way he did has lots of deep-set issues.

Hey sister. I'm in a similar boat. I met someone on OLD a few months ago. I pursued him. He seemed really into me after I got him to notice me. We had sex, which was amazing and he was very complimentary on my performance both during and after via text. Only for him to ghost a week later. I tried reaching out twice, only to be ignored. It's hard, it sucks, and months later I'm still hurt. I even discovered some less than flattering things about him - he lied to me about being divorced (is only s…

Also if it makes you feel better this is why older manipulators like to date young women. They pretend it's because of the tight body, but have you seen Marisa tomei, Juliana marguilis, Kate beckinsale, Gwen Stefani? And it's not because they are celebrities, they just exercise and eat well. Agreed on this, but man, Gwen Stefani is pretty much the ultimate pickmeisha. I had the paid version of Tinder which allows you to see everyone who swiped on you without liking them back. Of course, a lot of these 3000 swipes were gross dudes punching way above their weight, but there were some really cute guys too. I never have a problem getting swipes, the "getting a date" part is harder.
