That a fair assessment and I agree with a lot of your points You mentioned “her head is in the right direction” and I even said when she asked “I appreciate the spirit behind the question”

No one is coming to save you, there is no magic comment that you’ll read on here that will fix you. Get a pen and paper and write about what it is you want and go do it

Love that this can be a place where we push back on commonly held RP ideas such as self improvement being the goal It’s a good starting place for those lost but not the final destination

Veni Veni Emmanuel and Ave Maria are both beautiful. With a taste like that I suggest Alleluia by Eric Whitacre

That song is beautiful! Just added it to my playlist I’m a huge music guy (drums, piano, production) and I hate contemporary worship. Watch this if you want to know why Here is my worship playlist titled “Worship, but not agonizingly generic”. Lots of singer songwriter, folk and a select few popular songs

Likely, but even still. To be respected among men leads to interest from women

The common gripe from men seems to be the asymmetric risk/reward of marriage. Why not just get a prenup

I believe to a small extent there is some truth to the whole introvert vs extrovert thing. Regardless of that I act as if it is not true. I do this to avoid a self-fulfilling prophecy. In the event it is false or not as significant as it's made out to be I am on the side that has nothing but gain

Tired and can’t really write a long response but here’s my logic Mission is paramount > a wife can either help or hinder your mission > to have your mission hindered is bad > you must do everything you can to properly vet a wife > an aspect of vetting is sexual past

I relate to you. "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." Matthew 7:6 Save your breath and let it be what it is. You'll learn that often no amount of words will change people especially your parents

I'll be checking that out. Was thinking about surgery, but from what I've read it's not worth it

I don’t really have a very good answer I’ll leave that to people more wise than I. I will ask though how old are you and do you have plans to move out for college/ work/ military?

Agreed, I wasn’t promoting surgery. I was more asking about non-surgical things to do. I edited my comment to be more clear

Valid question Don’t really have a very coherent answer, but I remember a convicting moment while reading u/deep_strength ‘s blog a few months ago. I’ve been trying to re-find the blog post that either triggered my realization or explicitly stated why lifting was important. But to no avail For me I want to be prepared for when I do find that 10/10 who is FAT (faithful, available and teachable). If I’m fat (literally) she’ll just pass me by. Granted this reason is of the flesh but it is still a d…

When you say The verses above don't depict the actions of a red pill aware man... he's confident, authoritative, gets his way, tells his wife what to do and when, he's the boss and let's everyone know it... is that Jesus? I think not. I take it to mean that Jesus is not the things you listed when there are clearly moments where he is/ does the things listed. It would make more sense to me if it were to say "is that how Jesus is all of the time? I think not". My point here was to offer a contrast…

I think not. I feel like the verses you chose are very cherry picked. That makes me wonder. Is the scripture supporting r/ChristianRP cherry picked?

Chances are, you probably would enjoy college even more if you weren't emotionally invested in the outcome. For clarity I'm not dependent on the outcome of how college goes. College being my "light at the end of the tunnel" was a literal survival mechanism. I needed hope and I chose that (that was before I committed myself to Christ). What's your mission? Don't work on yourself. Work on your mission. I hear you loud and clear. I'll be working on that More about that on the sidebar in posts you'v…

If we were to throw you into a relationship right now you would absolutely be unsuccessful not because you've never been in a relationship with a woman before but because you don't have a mission and purpose. You're right. I feel like I'm just floating along right now with no purpose. Saw a RCP user recommend "40 Days of Purpose by Rick Warren" I'm on day 7 and feel like I'm getting some stuff out of it. Do you have any advice on finding my purpose?

Thanks for the response! Just going to keep my head down and keep working on building myself up in Christ. This verse has been weighing on me a lot recently. The Lord provides the right wisdom at the right time. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father …

What about your other shoulder? I agree that he should lift around it, but if his bad shoulder needs medical attention then it could be a while before he's 100%. Wouldn't want to create an imbalance by training the other shoulder

To write off women after hearing the “toxic stories” is to operate out of fear. “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” - Isaiah 41:13 Take this time to wrestle with God. Pray and don’t hold back your anger and frustration. Cast your burdens upon the Lord and grow through it. All the best brother.

Just read 1 Kings 21 and it was the story of Ahab killing Naboth and taking his Vineyard. I don’t necessarily see what you mean by “What’s described in that chapter is what we as men are facing today”. Could you please elaborate
/r/RPChristians28/09/18 03:38 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
