I agree. I think I should have phrased it more as - bare minimum requirements. They are not exceptional, these should be a given!

Not sure where you live but in my city, we have a small chain gym that is actually a women's only gym! I couldn't have gotten into lifting weights without it, I always felt too intimidated/uncomfortable at coed gyms. It's a little pricey but it's absolute paradise. So clean, calming, safe, and supportive. Since some others have mentioned this option already, if you don't have one: barre classes, yoga, spin, and pilates will also be majority women.

I know, sorry if this seemed harsh. But you've got a great community here and even though it will hurt, you'll have so much space to grow and level up once you're not taking on such an emotional toll. <3

Yes, he actually mentioned his grandmother's ring as an option as well - she'd like to pass it down! I think I have some hesitations about that simply because I would be afraid it would never truly feel like it was mine if that makes sense? But I like your perspective on it - it's a gesture of joining the family. He has his grandfather's watch and it's beautiful, so I can see that sort of thing is important in his family. I will keep that in mind and perhaps just getting to look at it before rul…

This is super helpful. He also mentioned his grandmother has a ring she'd like passed down - but I am super cautious about that. I think if anything I could see having it reset (not sure if that's disrespectful, but I'd like a modern piece), maybe as the actual~ wedding ring. But for me, I'd like my own new item for sure. I totally agree with what you said, it's about making sure the value and expectations align in terms of investment and taste. We have the best ladies on here, such well-written…

My current BF who I met using FDS principles asked me to be his girlfriend after our third date (3 weeks in). I wasn't ready and told him he was welcome to date other people in the interim, as I was. He had a couple of dates planned but canceled them despite my answer, without my knowing so. After we were official and I asked about it casually, he said "he felt it would've been disrespectful" to continue taking other girls out. When men know what they want, they know. I don't believe in "exclusi…

I've been dating my boyfriend for about 6 months now, and he exhibits many HVM behaviors and green flags as I was following FDS religiously when we first met. When we first started dating, We went out four Saturdays in a row, before each date he texted me the Sunday after asking me out again, and then planned something accordingly, making a reservation based on food or a place I had mentioned I liked on the previous date. I hate texting back and forth with new people (good morning texts give me …

Welcome back! I hope I make the cut!! I was nervous when the sub was closed and asked for a flair :/ I've been hoping it would happen for months and I panicked!! Either way, I'm so glad the sub will be returning to its roots and dedicated to more positivity and effective dating strategies. Things were getting a little dark there with all the negativity. I can't even begin to list the positive changes that have happened in my life since this sub helped me shift my mindset in dating and life! Than…

A man I was on a FIRST date with recently asked me if I wanted to walk around the poorly lit public park (in a large city) at 10pm after dinner, after I politely declined (blamed it on my heels) he asked me to split the check, clearly having expected something to go down with his little dark park at night move. I got the creeps and excused myself to go to the restroom and a kind waitress saw my face and blocked my body to hide me as I fled the restaurant!! These dudes CANNOT be trusted.
