Do you have close gal friends? Why haven’t you denounced the title system and formed C-corps with them? Which men don’t want feminism to continue? I’ve never met anyone against feminism. The basis of feminism is that women feel empowered to live their lives the way they choose without outside judgment or influence. There’s a monumental difference between “a woman should X” and “I’m searching for a woman who chooses X”

Marriage is that protection - all of the legality of marriage is perfectly aligned to protecting SAHPs, but love has gotten all mixed up into this legal contract. A marriage license forms a legal entity with 2 shareholders. The shareholders bring in the income. The product of the company is children. The fact that people marry for love is insane to me. You don’t need to opt out of the title system to form a company with someone just because you love them. There’s plenty of people I love that I d…

In my opinion, marriage is a (due) protection for women dedicating their time to raising children. I told my fiancee that we will get married while she’s pregnant. I see no reason for the legal implications of marriage without children. Conversely, women give up a tremendous amount of self sufficiency, value, and power having a child. I will marry for the protections granted to the mother of my children, and would never marry for any other reason. She will also become a REPS and dependent and sa…

I’m a [male] software engineer making ~500k. My fiancee is currently unemployed taking care of her grandmother. She grew up upper middle class, and is an elegant, nurturing, feminine, agreeable, attractive, poised, well-spoken woman. At my income, I’m not interested in what she can bring to the table financially. I want well-adjusted children with a highly involved mother. I want to be with her because I know that she will be the biggest influence on my children, and she’s an admirable human. I …

She shouldn’t pay; at 20 years old, she should offer. If he’s established in a career, she should not offer. Apparently us men differ here - I show up to ‘wow’ my dates. I wear a tailored blazer, pay for dinner, pick her up in an exotic car, show genuine interest, carry the conversation, and put effort into coming across as someone impressive. I lose interest in women who don’t show up with the same effort. It’s not about the cost; I don’t go for an expensive meal. It’s about the effort.

I’m 33/m, and will try to adjust to something a bit more age appropriate. I would suggest you offer to split the bill. Do be serious and ready to split, don’t be assertive in your offer to split. If he offers to pick you up, and you feel safe with him knowing where you live, you should accept. I suggest you wear a dress. I’ve never, ever ever met a man who didn’t like to see a woman in a dress. There’s 2 kinds of “dressed up for a date” - fashion cool (whatever they’re selling at Aerie/Aritzia t…

Words of affirmation is a love language. I’m a man, words of affirmation is not my love language, and words of affirmation make me a bit uncomfortable. I love for my victories to be recognized - things I truly strived for, worked towards, conquered, accomplished, etc. If every minor thing was recognized, it would feel demeaning.

Firstly; I’m not defending my behavior - I think it’s just worth explaining the thinking/progression of how (some) men end up saying one thing (“I’m looking for a relationship”) and doing another. To women, it looks malicious and calculated - in almost all cases, I assure you it is not. I’m 33. Body count isn’t hugely important to me - within some reasonable range. Women are people, and horny too. I don’t like this “women choose to sleep with men, but women are the victims” mentality, either. 2 …

Men can go into it with good intention; but the woman’s mate-viability is a spectrum (not wife candidate -> wife candidate) - when it swings in the direction of “not wife candidate”, I might throw the Hail Mary - “let’s sleep together”. I understand how confusing this is for women. I’ve also been dating for a year, am looking for a wife intently, but end up sleeping with a bunch of women. The women I do want a relationship with are the ones who aren’t interested in me and/or won’t sleep with me.…

Yes, I’m agreeing with you, here. His behavior is indicative of poor attitude, but the fact that it’s dinner vs. coffee is not. I may have misinterpreted OPs question. I interpreted OP’s question to be asking in a general way if coffee dates are indicative of lower-quality men than those offering dinner dates. In the specific scenario you’re mentioning, I completely agree this is poor form.

Picking one and then switching to another can happen for many reasons. I went on ~15 first-date-dinner-dates within the last 2 months. My observation was that it made the date adversarial and interview-like. I wanted to portray my maturity, commitment-focus, and seriousness. I left dates feeling like “she’s very kind, but no chemistry/attraction” - dinner dates provide little opportunity for physical touch and shared experience; just conversation. Many dinner dates I left feeling like it could h…
