I could’ve written this. Over the last five years, things have been rough, the last year I’ve really seen things much clearer. The relationship we’d had has changed, we’ve changed and I feel like it is all work without reciprocity. We always end up angry, frustrated and not hearing each other. For the first time in a long time I feel like I’m seeing clear again. I’m sad but also looking forward to seeing what comes.

I have tried. I took my spouse to couples counseling and the third session she got up and exclaimed that the problem is all me so why does she have to be there and she walked out. I feel like I’ve been open and honest and yet it’s the same story over and over. Honeymoon phase, building pressure, explosion, calm and forgetting, honeymoon, building pressure… wash, rinse, repeat. I’m not looking for perfect, I’m looking for someone who treats me with respect and who I know I can trust and respect i…

I thought about that too but if it’s not Christmas it’s new year, new year then Valentine’s, it’s always another event or something else.

I hear you. I’m in a similar situation. When I’d set up counseling, she booked out during a session and exclaimed that it’s all me and she had nothing to fix. I’ve been wrestling to get things under control but over the last two or three years it’s gotten worse and I’ve given up. In a most recent fight I told her I’m done and she asked to re set up counseling. It’s going well but deep down I think I know she’s only doing it to keep me around and not to improve things. I’m just so tired and so ov…

Thanks and sorry you had go through that. My kid is adult age now so I’m not too worried about that. I could easily see her lying as much as she can to shift things. I’m going to seek consultation to make sure I don’t misstep too badly but your point is well taken. I appreciate the reply and I hope your life is back on track

Probably the best answered I’ve received. You’re damn right, I need to stand up and just do this professionally and get it done. Thanks fella
