Having a sex drive might be a sign a man is healthy. Agreed. Wanting to rape people isn't healthy... So you contradict yourself, then. Rape is extremely common throughout the animal kingdom. Especially in our common ancestors the higher primates. We are in fact animals. Having the impetus for that behavior is not unhealthy. I would postulate that not having those inhibitions is actually unhealthy. Rape is an extremely effective evolutionary strategy. We evolved with that trait being favored, bec…

Wanting to violently rape people is bad.... Guess we disagree, then. I think it actually suggests a male is healthy. While we're on the subject though, I don't actually have violent sexual fantasies. I have certain inhibitions, naturally. I'm taking the position for the sake of argument. Even if I did, there is nothing wrong with it. Implying that such ingrained behavior is malignant or toxic is only going to cause self-hatred among males. I think it's upsetting that men have to hide this aspect…

And that's exactly why these programs are a bad idea. Because there's nothing sick about possessing those feelings. Postulating that they are sick or depraved would make boys hate themselves. Thanks for demonstrating my argument.

It's an anonymous forum, first of all. And I already answered the second question just because you and a small minority of people have violent sexual fantasy doesn't mean the rest of us do. Yes. It kind of does. Again, it's biology. But keeping feigning superiority lmao

Absolutely no idea. I've seen numerous mentions of programs facilitated by feminist groups popping up though. And if the result is anything like the collegiate system, my prospective sons will be homeschooled. I wouldn't trust any feminist organization to "educate" my sons. They would probably just convince them that they were born wrong or toxic

If you're asking me whether I'm a violent rapist no. I'm just kind of moody tbh and I was being passive aggressive. Sorry, lol And extreme urges to rape people isn't "part of the male experience" most people want to have consensual sex... Why don't you visit any number ^8kun of anonymous forums then, if you're so confident? Most people aren't as brazen as me. When unburdened by social pressure, they say interesting things. For me in particular, it's never been extreme. But I think mos…

Where was that suggested? We both know those inhibitions are part of the male experience. That doesn't mean condoning their expression. I have a difficult time associating immutable aspects of being male, with toxicity. There is nothing wrong with experiencing those feelings. Why shame our youth into thinking they are broken? We can instead educate them on how to reconcile those emotions, preferably in a manner that's not detrimental to their self-image.

I won't apologize for understanding biology. Such a harrowing tale, someone being honest. You have the same inhibitions... Continue denying your own nature. Such benevolence. I'll accept it. Even if I'm punished for it. Every man is compelled to rape. That's healthy male behavior. The impetus exists ubiquitously. You can deny that. We're socially conditioned not to express it, however. The moral animal.

You go to such extremes “neutering us at birth”: this sentence makes no sense and you are not only reaching but stretching to such degree that makes your whole post extremely bizarre to read. And yet, that's how I feel. I disagree with many of your own assertions. I think I've exhausted the utility of this thread. Everyone seems to be enjoying the psychoanalysis of my text. I am a violent sexual predator because of biology. It has nothing to do with my character. Also, an anthropomorphic designation. Would you say most animals are "violent sexual predators"? Despite that they would exhibit analogous behavior.

you say that society views men in a bad light, but you think those things yourself I believe we are animals. And animals are beholden to their biology. That doesn't mean I think poorly of men. Simply that men have certain programmed behaviors. I wouldn't evaluate these behaviors as inherently bad, either. We need to recognize sexual dimorphism. Boys are going to screw around. It's ok if the boy likes the truck instead of the barbie. He will probably find more enjoyment in physical activity. None…

I have no difficulties within the substance of my conversations with women. I'm also not socially retarded, but thanks for the insinuation. What I struggle with is the approach. Like I said — in terms of behavior. That could be more a consequence of my environment, however. I have essentially zero opportunities to interact with women (or anyone else) outside of a vocational setting. I've found that my interactions with women are perfectly fine when I'm not fixating on the all-consuming identity …

The internet is always going to hate, anonymity breads controversy. Get offline, find a physical hobby that you enjoy and stick with it. You'll find value in yourself and you won't need anyone else to do the same. This is great advice

This sub needs to separate out personal mental health issues, and actual men's rights issues. These are inextricably connected. Our mental health issues are often a consequence of the current political climate. Like the relationship between men and rising social isolation. Or the rise of the incel community. Or the never-ending bombardment of hostility directed towards men online. I'm literally just expressing my personal struggles with being male. What better orator than a male that's strugglin…

The internet is just a reflection of the real world. I'm trying to distance myself from that horrible stuff. That is absolutely a good thing. thats way way down the slippery slope Not the way I see it. Masculinity is being perceived as inherently toxic, something in need of remedy. Men are violent. Men are rapists. Men need to be fixed. I've tried moving off-world to Ruqqus. I'm not typically one to cower. But I can't deal with this stuff anymore emotionally. I have nothing left to learn from speaking to these people. However, the trends are still pervasive. Even within this alt tech community that generally detests feminism I'm still inundated with that shaming. It just changes... I just can't ignore this. Egalitarianism has a static immutable definition. It's the premise that the sexes should be treated equally. I think this is a reoccurring problem I often see in this debate linguistically. People conflate feminism with women's rights. Women's rights is also a static concept. The idea of advocating for women. That's something that I would subscribe to. I would however not subscribe to the ideology of feminism. Which is ever-changing, and beholden to the views of that movement's constituents. I n…

This is not “philosophy” Yes it is. You preach a philosophy. Feminism is an ideology, egalitarianism is a concept. I preach a philosophy too. We just don't agree. I'm sympathetic to many of your points (even if I'm not stating it) but the underlying premise of your argument is that men "are the root of the problem". Which we will never agree on. You want me to be honest? I think your the root cause. Your placing all social issues on the shoulders of a demographic so diverse that it composes half the global population. Like I said, I think it's practically speaking an illusion. I’m back. Maybe that’s annoying for you, but you’ll have to deal with it anyway. Why are you being so aggressive towards me? I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. I genuinely wanted to hear your perspective... I can explain why the model only makes women seem the victim. Domestic violence has been primarily against women since pre-historic ages. Let's be honest. You don't sound like a feminist. Most feminists would be justifying her actions, here you are opposing them. You can claim affiliation with the movement, but your thoughts don't compose the collective sentiment of the ideology. Perfect example is actually male rape victims. The definition used to only be applied to girls by men. Now anyone can be a rapist and anyone can be raped. Are you familiar with Duluth's Power & Control Model? What is the arbitrary line in the sand then? How about a 50 year old man that takes an interest in a 13 year old boy down the road. I'm guessing that doesn't give you the same impression. Is it OK when a woman does it, but not a man, for some reason? Something to think about

This was an emotional video for me. I love Blaire, she's awesome. It's heartwarming to see someone (literally anyone) express sympathy for men. I also really appreciated that she didn't just relegate this problem to boys. Which is for some inexplicable reason almost always the case (can speculate further), she also emphasizes that mature males can also be victims, and regularly are. Also, tons of reassuring comments from women in the comments section. In general this video meant a lot to me. I a…

That's an interesting perspective... I can't quite relate to the female experience. But I think for a man, being raped by another man, there are very specific implications of that regarding a man's conception of "masculinity". What does that mean? I think the ability to protect, provide, and project themselves with confidence in stressful situations. For example, I don't think a female rape victim (correct me if I'm wrong) would be too concerned about her perceived inability to protect, provide,…

I think that we're biologically wired to extend less compassion and empathy to men. imo, that's the catalyst for the whole "male disposability" phenomenon, the underlying behavior was present since the inception of humanity. Men have always been less valued on a reproductive level. That's why they always undertook the most dangerous responsibilities historically. Humanity could repopulate easily with just a single man and 100 women. The converse is not true. I think that the men's rights movemen…

Fair point. But here's the thing Feminism is an evolving ideology, equality is a concept. The feminist ideology, in its ever changing iteration, could attest to advocate for equality, but if their ever-changing priorities act in direct contrast to equality, then such a statement means nothing. I advocate for equality as a concept. Feminism as an ideology doesn't represent anything even remotely similar to that concept.

Plenty! Our social value isn't correlated to our age. We don't have massive hormonal fluctuation that hemorrhages our daily lives. We are respected in positions of authority just for being male. It's hard to believe how much of an oversight exists for issues that affect men. It certainly lends credibility to evolutionary psychology perspective, that we're wired to extend less compassion to men. 15 year old boy raped by woman: pornographic images, "had sex with", playful, one week in jail, teehee 15 year old girl raped by man: people advocating for death sentence, year in jail, dehumanized, vilified, abject hatred Nothing strange going on here...

If the girls can compete in the boys wrestling at the low weights, then the boys should be able to compete against the girls in the high weights... Why? Do you foam at the mouth when you contemplate a woman getting beat helplessly? That's not a fair competition. I don't think this is a double standard at all. There are biological differences between the sexes. A man participating in a woman's sport is just unfair. You will destroy any semblance of fairness. If your familiar with the MtF sports participation controversy the argument runs along similar lines. Does this inadvertently discriminate against men and MtF Transsexual women? Technically, yes. But that's only when your ignoring that the sexes are biologically different.

It's terrible... The lies are pervasive, systemically reinforced, and cultivated. The fuel that allows this narrative to survive is perceived oppression. We reject feminist ideology, therefore we must be trying to subjugate women. The general population continues to believe that feminism is; as Karen Straughan put it — the way. I think that's the source of the lack of compassion towards men

Which is what drives their hatred. I think that MGTOW are motivated by feelings of indignation/worthlessness. not to suggest that either is healthy, but they are different

Are you just going to use this data to slander us? Because that's typically what people do in this situation. Your questions imply that your trying to elicit prototypically "misogynistic" opinions from us. If you trying to get bonus points from your gender studies professor by demonstrating how evil/misogynistic we are, then your research means nothing. If you want to actually study men's issues (doubtful) then begin by watching "The Red Pill"

It's honestly comical at this point. I don't even get angry anymore. You go on /r/AskFeminists/ and look at posts about the SCUM Manifesto. The text literally advocated for the extermination of the male gender. Feminists think it's "interesting" and constitutes a "central feminist work", but maybe they allude to the fact that it's "kind of transphobic". Put statistics in front of them about male rape/domestic abuse victims. You won't find sympathy. If anything, they will become belligerent for e…

Genuinely curious, how is there not a patriarchy? Men dominate politics, high level jobs, and more because of oppression of women in the past Alright... I'll throw my hat in the ring. I firmly believe that almost all of this can be attributed to biology. That's just going to make the situation significantly worse. What your advocating for is analogous to an "eye for an eye". If we're going to advance men's issues, which I presume is your intention, we need to actually facilitate conversation with feminists. To do otherwise is going to harm our credibility and progress. If anything, this kind of thinking is what's going to keep us in the dark ages

So the primary problem is that men can't speak for themselves. Absolutely. There is no dignified platform for men to express grievances on the political level. Therefore, individuals attempt advocacy work alone. This only attracts a polarized audience. No... If anything, the feminism movement has galvanized opposition towards our ideals. However, culturally, people are generally speaking more receptive to the idea that men are disadvantaged in some ways. Not necessarily the right ways. They seem to be more concerned with feminist concerns like "why don't men cry" and other equally shallow quandaries. But it's a start.

Most women seem to prefer cut dick for aesthetic reasons. This makes me livid because it is essentially women advocating for genital mutilation, purely based on their own pleasure. But then there's also a demographic of women that prefer uncut men because it basically just means the genitals function better. Right. Search "Male Genital Mutilation" on /r/MensLib, no results. Search "Male Genital Mutilation" on /r/MensRights. Hundreds. Why? Because feminists don't want to accept that male genital mutilation exists, and is comparable to female genital mutilation. They want to protect the status quo. The women there genuinely hate men. They advocate for their continued suffering.

I'm not an MRA. I fundamentally disagree with both of these gender specific social movements. However, men are struggling in almost every conceivable way in our contemporary society. Unfortunately, this is the only platform to solve these problems in our dichotomous world. Legal Men have no reproductive rights whatsoever. 1 2 3 4 The entire court system in the United States strongly favors women. Ya, this fucking infuriates me. I looked in the talk section and evidently they are doing this to remain "impartial". Fucking retards. You literally contradicted yourself in the same sentence. In most of these stories men are too afraid of potential consequences to defend themselves. Because if the man is being raped and bruises the woman to defend himself then the woman can simply claim that he tried to rape her. And then he goes to jail for a decade and his life is ruined. It's easier to just let the woman rape you then try to challenge the legal system.
/r/MensRights04/09/19 06:30 PM
1

I suppose so. I Just find it very unsettling... I always try to interpret that an individual has good intentions. Because in our own eyes everyone believes they have good intentions. I have a hard time with this subject in particular though. I don't understand why feminists (and women more generally) feel that it is necessary to compare or suggest that MGM is somehow less then. Or not as problematic. That makes me very upset. Because I still have very strong emotions regarding my own mutilation …
/r/MensRights04/09/19 06:13 PM

I disagree. Most of the people I argue with about the subject are women. Most men wouldn't even acknowledge that it's a problem.
/r/MensRights04/09/19 05:48 PM

I think they are both terrible and shouldn't be compared. I am not stating that one is worse than the other. They are both genital mutilation by definition. /r/MensRights04/09/19 01:10 AM
