"if they were working class and had a bar they hung out in after their factory shift tried their luck with the local widow or divorcee who walked in and if they were wealthy they had a mistress hidden away." So. Much. Truth.

So I'm a bit weird, but I guess part of that can be attributed to growing up in Europe from a traditional south american family. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS ONLY ACCORDING TO MY OWN PERSONAL VALUE SYSTEM. SECOND DISCLAIMER: Everyone is free to do what they want - this is simply my own take on this. For me the end-goal of an LTR is to marry, have a family, the whole shebang. I tend to know right away as well if the person click on a level that could let that be a possibility. If so, I'll approach us …

It's fine if you don't want to. In fact, it's great that you readily know you don't want to or care to engage in relationships. I was simply replying to you asking regarding any negatives. Sadly this is one of the lesser known ones, although I guess we all know about it deep down. I'm all about people taking full control of their lives and choosing whatever lifestyle they please, so long as they're aware of all the facts.

Speaking from personal experience, forming and breaking such intimate bonds so frequently makes it harder to form a deep bond with a partner. It's the reason I stopped having so much casual sex. I couldn't care less about the STI stuff, I should but being honest it never really concerned me in the heat of the moment. There was a night and day difference in my capacity for forming deep emotional bonds with a partner before and after my "wild phase". Did a bit of research and it led me to finding …

Right, let me unpack that for a second. 1st point. You agree with the poster in the higher suicide rate + us being "discouraged from having emotional outlets...". Then you go off an an accusation, but hey, feel free to. 2nd point. Poster's point (emphasis mine): If I tell you men die earlier because of poorer health (see lack of funding for men's health and discrimination by insurance companies -- mostly run by men Note they mention exactly what you mention in your first paragraph. Then you go o…

If you could elaborate for us unenlightened ones, that'd be great. In fact, if you could cite each "If I tell you..." and how the infinite resources point negates each item, that'd be fantastic for a logical discussion.

Male here. Who could disagree with these points? Kind of sad that this needs to be said :/ Way too much rhetoric getting in the way of actual progress and change.

NRK did an amazing documentary that for a time caused quite a bit of controversy in the country on this. One of the most interesting findings was that the STEM gender gap increases the more developed a country is. In less developed countries where there is a higher pressure to enter high-paying fields, the gender gap is smaller than in more developed countries (when it comes to STEM). The more developed a country is, the more freedom there is to 'study what you love', which interestingly shows u…

Your husband is an incredibly lucky man. Also: As for the attention it gets and possible compliments, the only male attention I am comfortable with is from my husband which is why I like wearing nice/ more sexy things around him but not around most other people. What I do like very much are compliments from other women on my clothes/style though - that actually gives me a huge ego boost, especially if the woman giving it is very good looking herself. Props to you. This is a thought process I can…

Was about to reply that no, Tinder can definitely work for normal guys but yeah, I'm ~6ft (5'11.75), moderately handsome and got a crazy profile (have lived throughout Europe/played in a band/am in science/am outdoorsy). Honestly though, focus on having an insanely awesome profile. That and just try to look cleaned up and groomed. Not saying you'll get crazy matches but you'll be maximizing your chances.

Also, when it comes to the "too pushy to hang out all the time", keep in mind this is not your fault. Unless you have some issues where it needs to be 24/7 from day 1, if you meet someone and you really fucking like them, you'll want to be around them as often as possible. I've had gfs where they would ask me to come over after work, then the same the next day, and before you know it I haven't slept at my place for a week. There's people for all kinds of preferences. On one end, some couples lik…

I'd generally with the cohabitation if it weren't for the fact that everything has been awesome until all this shit started happening. Her new job has made a difference. Before she would get home angry and ready to curl up in a ball, which I can't blame her for. If I was locked in a room for 8 hours with people that were bullying me, I'd either have gone to jail for assault or gotten depressed. She's been much better, but as soon as she started her mom told her about her dad being dangerously cl…

Thanks for the reply man. 1 - Yeah, I've given that a lot of thought. She went from a cushy life where her dad took care of everything for her to straight into adult life, and in a tough way. Massive bullying at work, huge issues with landlords, eviction, etc... She literally sucks at dealing stress. 2 - Yep, this is also a big problem, but not as much as you'd think. My parents went through the same, their families hated the other's SO, but they in the end said fuck it and they've been together…

Hey man, thanks for your reply. "Sensitive alpha" is literally what I've always strived for, and I guess up until 2 months ago what I was. Definitely my fault for not keeping it up. This is what I've been doing and I've noticed that it is has been the key to things improving. Not sure about this. I've pondered it at times, but she would lose her family. Thanks for your reply. Sometimes walls of text are needed to explain things in detail. Advice given with the wrong information has no use. To start off, I'm not new to TRP by any standard. I've applied it in my life for the past 2 years to amazing results. I just started lifting again, I admit it was one thing I definitely am to blame for, as I have let myself get out of shape. The reason I want to fix this is because the problem is not with her, it's the situation. Had you read the whole thing,…

Well, I'd say it is just ONE of the many reasons slut-shaming occurs. Another is that before we had paternity testing, there was a very real possibility you could raise a kid that isn't yours. This means women with promiscuous behaviour would not be viewed upon favorably due to that risk, at least on some subconscious level.

I lived in Germany for three years and most of my female friends have told me they prefer darker guys, and that's what I've seen as well. Blonde and blue eyed guys tend to seem feminine to them. They'll go for arabs, Spanish, south american, black, etc... much more than a northern european looking guy.

I don't get why you're being downvoted. As someone that went through a period of promiscuity, it definitely has had an effect on my ability to bond with a girl. Maybe it affects women a bit more, but to say it doesn't affect men is shit. There are trillions of ways to achieve abundance mentality.

I agree to an extent with both you and /u/SteelChicken. Yes, there are bound to be certain tendencies and sets of behavioral patterns that can be observed, discussed, and in some part explained by empirical studies YET I strongly disagree with the notion that abounds in /r/theredpill that the sidebar material is holy and never wrong. Can't say I agree with your second paragraph, but I definitely agree with your first. Keep in mind, affluent men (upper middle class) can often get away with hiring good lawyers. I've seen this happen many times. We have a broken system. It's not just pussy-passed women. The USA has a fourth of the world's prison population (last time I checked) and only five percent (one-twentieth) of the world's population. This is fucking crazy. We need to stop jailing people. Release non-violent drug offende…

Wait, what's the problem with the woman in your last paragraph? I feel sorry for her too. If you know even the slightest bit of psychology then you'd know most disorders aren't things you shake off or snap out of. You usually need to rotate meds along with some kind of therapy like CBT. Not defending her bc she's a woman, but bc she's a person with mental health issues (like I at one point have had).

I think you and I are quite alike. We're both highly analytical. This can hinder us if we don't learn to control it. I'll give you one amazing tip. Next time you walk around the city, stop and ask cute girls for directions. No need for small talk. Just directions. If you already know where you're going, pretend you don't. This will help you get used to exchanging words with cute girls. Then start making some small talk when you have the opportunity.

The socially anxious guy's guide to conversing This is what works for me. I approach conversations with the following question in mind: Who is she? Everyone has (at least) a handful of topics they obsess over. The topics they think about all the time. For some it's travelling. For some science. For some politics. Find those and you've taken your first step towards answering this question. Pace yourself If your rhythm is Question->Answer->Question->Answer, it's gonna get boring quick. After an an…

Generally yes, but it'll be less likely if they're "her besties" or if they value the friendship more than dick. Then again, jealousy is quite powerful.

You said you don't know guys outside TRP would hold those views, hence my reply. Don't know about your guy friends, but with most guys I've hung out, at one point or another we end up talking about men/women/relationships. About your discarding of relativity, most morality nowadays is heavily relativist. Few people hold absolute truths to be their entire life perspective. Rather, many relativistic notions dashed with some absolute "truths" (for that person) that serve as pillars for their relati…

Pretty much every guy I've known my entire life. This includes guys from Miami, all over Spain, Germany, Middle East, UK, France, Greece, pretty much all South America. I've met about 6 guys who were into promiscuous women, but they were the type of guys that would date a porn star because of the awesome sex. Maybe you're a female, and asked guys about this. Hasn't it struck you that maybe they wouldn't tell the truth because they don't want to get slapped? This way of thinking is pretty much on…

You know, you actually got me into thinking. I often try to be open with my views. I think it's me sticking to my guns, but I have noticed it sometimes causes me to not be able to get my point across. I'm reading through the 48 Laws of Power as well and what you say, about framing the argument in a way that will be best received, really resonates with everything that's going on in my head. Meh, I've always felt them up to a point. This analysis is just how can TRP explain my approach. Ive never really did any of it on purpose. TRP definitely helped on really being aware of the power dynamic and the whole concept of hypergamy, as well as balancing out the AF/BB duality. Keeping these in mind is the only way to successfully take the 'softer' approach.

Physics student here. From what I've heard the life of a scientist is usually highly stressful. Now, socially speaking women are encouraged from a young age to cry if they feel like crying while men must hold it in because it's the "manly" thing to do. This explains at least in part the proneness to crying. If I get berated by a professor in front of other colleagues at the lab and I cry, I'm never going to hear the end of it from my colleagues. Hence I'll be much more likely to hold it in. No A…

Completely agree w you. I don't get the other posters pounding their chests yelling: "Be more alpha!". She was obviously falling for the guy, he read too much AF/BB stuff and went overboard with it. She probably told herself: "If he doesn't care about me as much as I do about him, I'm just setting myself up to get hurt". Plates, or what are more generally called FBs, don't have much emotional investment. OP, it seems to me like you actually started to like this girl, read too many trp horror sto…

Might've had the gf on his side then. Rather than seeming "weak" to her, her nurturing instinct would kick in. I know many guys who have lost fights in front of their GFs, usually to the effect of getting nurtured (of course they took a beating like men and didn't crawl up in a ball to cry).

Don't tend to agree with your views, but in this case I do. Sure there are times when fighting is necessary, but it's a skill to be able to notice potential "rivals" in social settings and maneuver to have them be on your team. It's a skill we all should practice. TRP tends to have this view of masculinity almost like being a lumberjack: get big, be tough, etc.. I view masculinity more in the vein of James Bond: in control of the situation, aware, confident with a dash of cocky, motivated. There…
