Since when was a round number of some bullshit, archaic measurement system relevant to the way humans conduct their lives? Seppos love the sixes for some reason. 6 inches, 6 feet, however long those are. You know other, better numbers exist, right? Edit: cheers for the redditcare report, princess. You’ve been reported ;)

I’m sorry brother. I wish I could say it goes away. It doesn’t. You just get better at dealing with it. My kids were kidnapped to a town an hour and a half away. I see them once per fortnight only, and it cost me $100k AUD to get that. I didn’t see them for about 10 months thanks to false allegations, and it’s been nearly three years now since it all started. Like you, I was an extremely active parent. If you are going to be relegated to the role of a “sometimes” parent against your will, then d…

Thanks for updating us! I remember your original post, it hit a nerve with me. Proud of you man. You set a boundary with her, and you kept it. She needs to get used to this. Divorce is not the fairytale of subservience that she seems to expect it to be. Divorce may have been incentivised for her every step of the way so far, but you are not under her thumb anymore. I found your update really satisfying. As for CPS, who cares. She can keep calling them. They’ll figure out pretty quickly that she’…

It'd be nice to believe in karma. And monster is a good word for it. I was admonished in court for previously referring to the woman who did this to me as a monster. It seems you've just gotta bend over and take every stroke, and god help you if you show any sign of being upset about it. "See? I was right about him" as the barbed wire-wrapped strapon travels deeper and deeper

I could’ve done the exact same thing (run off with the kids and never let her see them) Yeah, I dunno about that. I mean, legally, technically, you could've done it. But had you done so, guaranteed there would've been an amber alert, pictures of your mug in the news, and "police and family have concerns for the welfare of the children" etc etc. Gotta keep everyone safe from the human beings with the big bad penises. /s

Mine set the caller photo for me on her phone to an image of a swine. The kids used to see it every time I called them, or vice versa. I only found out when she mistakenly sent me a screenshot of something else and the image was visible in the corner. Normally I’d just get over her bullshit - I can’t control what she does or says to the kids, but she took it way too far with that rubbish. I involved the lawyers. Got the final parenting hearing coming up in August, and this will be brought up dur…

I experienced 4 out of the 5 items on your non-exhaustive list. I started referring to her as either "the kids' mother" or her maiden name almost immediately. Even referring to her as "my ex" seemed too endearing to me. People seemed to cotton on pretty quickly.

I would not entertain this crap in a million years. You need to set this boundary with her before she makes the trip - not out the front of your apartment with the kids present. She will either make a scene in front of them, which will cause them distress, or she will manufacture some kind of situation that attempts to make you look bad. What she will not do is acquiesce and go quietly into the night. If you decide not to set this boundary, and to let her in, then you need to reciprocate her beh…

Damn man. I feel you. I was with my children's mother for 12 years, married for 5. She kidnapped the kids one morning without warning - took them to "daycare" and I didn't see them for nearly 12 months. The ensuing false allegations had the desired effect. She waited exactly 4 weeks before she allowed an aged, balding twonk in to my children's lives to play daddy. The guy looks seedy as fuck, and I reckon I've seen more hairs on a cake of soap in a caravan park than on that genetic mistake. I di…

I don't think it ever really goes away, especially if it's a particularly nasty divorce and kids are involved. It comes back all the time and you have to learn to deal with it when it does, otherwise you're straight back down the hole getting dragged through the emotional sewer. It comes back at birthdays, milestones, celebrations, when your kids get married, etc. You can't really grieve the loss of your kids properly when they are still out there in the world. Not unless you detatch yourself em…

And so soon after marriage too.. It's a shame that so often we must think this way. But there's a reason for having to think this way - and it's a really fucking good one. The best way to protect yourself from being ruined? DO NOT get married, boys.

Hey man. Parental alienation is a very real thing. I've been going through it myself and holy shit there is just nothing worse. I don't really have any words of wisdom for you my friend, other than to say you will always be their Dad. No matter what the serpent does or says to them, she cannot change that fact, and neither can her shitbag attorney. So have faith in your children - they are half you after all! Have faith in them to be able to look at what has happened, think for themselves, and s…

This happened to me too. I eventually realised why they were doing it - it is a dog shit strategy. By any chance, do you have children? And by any chance, are they currently residing with the mother, particularly in another town? The longer they can drag this out, and the longer that the children remain somewhere that you do not want them to be, the less likely any court will rule to return the children to their hometown. In my case, they were trying to establish a brand new and untouchable 'sta…

You’re totally right. Perhaps it’s as simple as the biological process. Mothers carry children to term, birth them, breastfeed them, a whole lot of stuff that fathers cannot do. Could it be that the prevailing attitude is nothing more than a primal bias? Edit: grammar

The misguided belief that a father is somehow a lesser parent perhaps? There are also a great deal of bin-fire fathers out there, which probably doesn’t do much to help the perception of the rest of us.

It happens all the fucking time when you’re a father. Taking my daughter to get her hair cut only to be quizzed by an extremely concerned hairdresser as to “whether I have Mum’s permission to be doing this” Being followed around shopping centres and covertly filmed by concerned women when I’m out with my daughter. Being Karened when I take my kids to the park and watch on from the side. Being told by (mostly) women that I’m “babysitting” my children when I am in fact parenting. Being told in fam…

Her threatening to commit suicide unless you stay married is coercive control and is a form of domestic violence. Does she have a history of controlling behaviour? She needs help. Urgently.

A bodycam is good advice!! I am now considering getting one of these myself. Just make sure that if you go this route, try to insulate the kids from it as much as possible. You don’t want them feeling as if they are in the middle of some kind of conflict between Mum and Dad, and you certainly don’t want them feeling as if they are being filmed. They don’t need any additional stressors in their lives as a result of the conflict, and it is your (and her 🙄) job to make sure that doesn’t happen. Whe…

From one DV accused to another - all the best brother. I really wish I had some helpful or insightful advice for you. All I can say is that she sounds quite unhinged, and I would hope that the court, or any court-appointed expert (such as a child psychologist), would be able to see through her bullshit. I imagine they see rubbish like this constantly, because it happens ALL the time. You obviously had the foresight to be able to obtain video evidence of her behaviour - well done. I think it is b…

I passed. But it was a crock of shit. Trick questions, and academically ambiguous choices with very little distinction between the possible answers. I felt like I would have had to have been studying YOUR specific degree in order to make a distinction between many of the possible answers. I don’t think your study is going to give you what you hope it will.

Jesus Christ… I haven’t any advice for you my friend, but I want to wish you the very, very best. You have the patience of a saint, and you have suffered far too long. She is abusing you with the threat of suicide. That is textbook coercive control, hence you are a victim of domestic violence. Document document document, and look after yourself brother. You’re doing the right thing. We’re behind you.
