Stop “should have ing” yourself to death for one. I’m sorry this happened but if it’s over then you need to move on. Let your child be your new purpose. Or your job. Now is the time to dig deep and rediscover yourself and your hobbies. I thought the same thing. I had lost my purpose. But what’s lost can be found again. Read, spend time with family and friends. Do whatever you have to do to get your mind moving forward.

Don’t think that. I failed as a husband but I was ALWAYS a good father. Don’t get in your own head. Go to court first! Get your rights before she comes up with false accusations.

You can’t change the past. Just learn from it

I cheated. A lot. Not proud of it and I am suffering the consequences

If it was NY they would arrest you. Woman can torture kids here while the attorney for the child cheers them on. Hopefully the judge does something for you. Sounds like she has a history of crazy.

Well I’m in New York. So she made up domestic violence accusations and dragged me thru an article 8. The attorney for my daughter also hates men and fathers. It is a biased horrible system. And it’s the children that suffer. I had to go thru 2 mental health evaluations, 3 drug and alcohol screens, and a domestic violence class that had people who beat the hell out of their exes. All I did was send stupid drunk text messages 4 years ago and they treat me like Hannibal Lecter. The only reason I ke…

It gets better. Keep moving forward. Find things you like to do that take your mind off things. I am in year 4 of going thru family court with no end in sight. You have to compartmentalize things. It’s a good opportunity to remember the person you were before you wasted all these years with the wrong person. Stay strong!

I wish I had moved. If you can and have the means do it. Otherwise you have a stuck in the mud spinning your wheels feeling. Just my own experience

We are going thru the article 8 now. I’m almost 2 years in. She has no evidence of anything because I never did anything. I get to see my kid once a week for 3 hours with a supervisor. Keep in mind there is no arrests reports etc. nothing ever happened. It’s just her word cause she is trying to keep control

How do I get the full stay away thrown out at this point? I left. We were amicable for 4 years then she started dating and I wanted 50/50 and she freaked out.

Gone thru 3 lawyers and 20k in one year. I get to see her supervised for 4 hours a month. Total. No police reports never been arrested. It’s nuts.

She pulled an order of protection. Made up things that didn’t happen. Ever. Control is her religion. And she spends all the time with my daughter so now she is anxious about being around me cause of her moms bullshit.

I’m in a similar situation. In court for a year over custody. Barely get to see my daughter. Ex is a psycho who claims I’m stalking her. All to keep control of my daughter. I’ve thought about walking away. Anyone do that? Any experiences?

I really don’t unfortunately. Every situation is different. I would try and make it work if I had a chance to do it over. Way cheaper. But you also have to take into account the mental health of the kids. If you two hate each other the kids will pick up on that. I have lost a lot of time with my daughter. And I’ve done nothing wrong. They play the “abuse” card and a judge signs off on it. I’d never put my hands on a woman in anger. And I’ve never done that to my child. She is a sweetheart who wa…

I left when she was 3 and she is 8 now. It would have been better to stay a little longer. Going thru custody battle now and she pulled the order of protection shield. Have not seen or talked to my daughter in over a month. Lawyers get involved and it gets worse and more drawn out. And she has a new bf. He has not been around my daughter yet. My soon to be ex is just ferrying her away to her grandmas every weekend so she can spend time with this guy. Meanwhile I love two minutes away and can’t s…
