This makes me so angry. But it's no surprise - seven years gone like that. He probably can't believe he's not having a bad dream, it's a crushing sense of denial. Maybe with time he'll see what really happened.

Looking over some of the laws, many states seem to specify that the recording is only illegal if none of the parties involved in the recorded conversation consent to it being recorded. To me, that suggests that I can legally record any conversation I personally have with someone. Is this accurate?

For someone pushing an agenda, we're more dangerous now than when we were so hated most people took us as a joke. Now we're a threat. Not saying that means they'll be stupid enough to shut us down, but they have more reason to now than they did before. Amen on not being victims. Let's keep the discussion objective.

I mean that's the issue, tailoring is damaging and can only go so far, I'm not wearing a suit unless it's a perfect fit, I can't afford a new suit, ergo, I'm not wearing a suit

Also 20, wore a suit almost all last year, made out with one girl. Wearing black and white t shirts this year, hookups are weekly. Clothing affects you, but the impact is negligible compared to other factors. I've found what makes me feel comfortable, and that's far more powerful than "dressing to impress" Edit: Actually stopped wearing the suit because I couldn't afford to keep having it tailored to my growing frame

Amen. I could not imagine a man like Mr. Rogers breaking frame. Frankly, I don't see a single BP behavior about him.

Thank you. I'm not frustrated with how Roosh did as much as I am with how he didn't own up to it. Seriously, for a sub that preaches accountability and other masculine traits, it's a bit pathetic to see all these BP defenders saying "oh but he never had a chance". Makes a few things on here seem downright hypocritical if we don't hold one of our own to the same standard we hold those who disagree with us.

Here are some things Roosh should've done that would've survived false editing. eye contact fighting loaded questions instead of attempting to answer calling Oz out on his hypocrisy Above all, for the love of God, at least eye contact. At least a modicum of confidence. I don't hold it against Roosh that he didn't do these things (again, nerves are a bitch), but it's ridiculous to say there's nothing he could've done.
/r/TheRedPill29/04/15 04:59 PM

Yes, but he did fuck up. He didn't even hold eye contact. I'm not saying he should be castigated for this, but let's not pretend that he didn't have a shot at coming out on top.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I don't believe it - he knew the heat would be on in that studio, and he wasn't prepared to hold frame in the smallest degree. Yeah, stage fright can really break a man's frame - that's fine, and I won't hold it against Roosh. But as a man, he should own up to the weakness he showed instead of blaming it on "backstabbing female producers". If you lose the fight, you don't blame it on the other party. You get the fuck up and figure out how to win the next one.

Haha I'm the same way, but to the point where agnosticism has become a STRONG belief system for me (I might be wrong, of course, but that's just it). Not saying that this is how you should be, just that not having an opinion doesn't make you uninformed. And really, a good place to start is philosophy (this coming from someone who derided philosophy for years). NOT the kind of ethical philosophy people try to push on you (why I hated philosophy, turns out that's not really philosophy), but all of…

Manson talks about this exact thing in Models, citing the example of a friend who was asking girls if he could pee in their butt. His argument is that it wasn't the insane behavior that drew girls, but rather the correlating confidence his friend had that night, enough confidence to do something like that (I.e. there's a correlation but no causation - it's the confidence that both attracts women and allows your friend to wear pajamas, it's not the pajamas that attract women by demonstrating conf…

Not knowing what you believe is a completely acceptable belief. The idea some propagate of needing to "have an opinion on everything" leads to ignorance, and frankly, stagnation in our lives and society. Wow your friends sound like idiots. Don't know how to help you there, but yeah, don't force a tribe of male friends if that's not what you have. I think the core message of these books is very simple, and that's to let go of your insecurities. If someone thinks you're stupid for something you sa…

No shit skiing is a good idea. I find these kind of happy coincidence dates to be the best, especially if she's a quiet girl and you're at the level of inexperience to be asking a question like this. There's no forced tension (which can be good, but not for shy or inexperienced people), you're just teaching her how to ski, and if you guys happen to hit it off during the lesson, awesome, kiss her on the chairlift. Edit: Alta? It has a nice vibe for dates.

Oh I love that feeling. At a party last week (college hookups are supposed to be easy, right? Well, they're fucking not if you're a pussy like me), got increasingly angry at myself, started being increasingly aggressive with my approaches (which got more and more successful), and finally had a crazy hookup right on the dance floor. Whatever drives you, man. Tap into that.

There's a simple 1-2 counter for this. Give up. You blew it. You had your chance, she knows that you were too much of a pussy to do anything, and she's lost any possible interest in you. There's nothing to do now but cauterize the wound and move on. Cauterize the wound. TOMORROW. THE VERY NEXT MOMENT YOU SEE HER. Go up to her and say 'hi'. That's all you have to say, you're done if you say that. Come back here, tell me you did it, and I'll give you a big thumbs up. If you're really feeling balls…

Man it's all about being honest with yourself and others and just letting go of your vulnerabilities. Read some stuff by Mark Manson, that's basically what he preaches. I'd say this post is a good counter to those war-mindset RP dudes who think life is a fucking battlefield. Maybe it is, but that doesn't mean you can't stop to make yourself and others feel good.

Negative reinforcement isn't very effective, especially if it's something so very mildly negative.

I think, ceteris paribus, greater acceptance is a good thing. Perhaps he does dilute some truths, but I believe many more he just reframes in a linguistically popular way. We often say here that most people agree with RP thinking if it's presented in a way that doesn't trigger a gut rejection. Maybe Manson has just figured out how to convey practical advice and ways of thinking without resorting to the sort of victim rhetoric that a lot of us here seem to be addicted to (and believe me, I was, t…

I've read Models a few times, along with more conventional RP literature, and after giving it a lot of thought, I think honest game is the RP ideal. Isn't the idea to become the man whose honest self is perfectly attractive? Amused mastery, confidence, and abundance mentality are a lot more effective when they come from a genuine place. EDIT: Did Manson write anything as Entropy?

Is it just me or is this guy the most controversial figure on this sub? Whenever he's brought up for discussion, he seems to be unequivocally bashed, but other times I'll see a top comment like this quoting him.

So I usually am 100% on board with this attitude (until a few months ago, I was ALWAYS on board with this attitude), until I got arrested at my house party (I'm 19). Stayed silent, plead the fifth, encouraged all my friends to do the same. The one thing I'm glad I insisted on was not letting them in the house, but I did have a bit of a prickly attitude about it all (fucking pigs arresting legal adults for having a few beers). Unfortunately, the police report was full of lies and exaggerations, a…

Sexiness is the way a woman carries herself ...but most women look a hell of a lot better when they take care of their physique, complexion, and hair. Yes, we all aspire to control fates. That's the pinnacle of SMV. But telling men that they shouldn't lift because "it's cheap" is the equivalent of telling women that they shouldn't wear makeup because "it's cheap". Yeah, it's cheap. But dear God does it help. (for context, I have a merit-based full ride at a Top 10 university. Rather high status …

I always love hearing about this experiment, because it feels like it was written by Asimov himself. I disagree with a lot of the Declinists here, however. We have much space left. For humans, space exists in realms beyond the physical. Economies, networks, innovations - all feed our desire for growth and conquest, and I believe they'll continue to do so for quite a while. We aren't all Beautiful Ones. Also, we're about to colonize space. If Elon Musk doesn't get us there... well, I will :D

This would be good. I'm always a bit cautious about posts like these, because I don't want this sub getting trolled by some fem who baits and then "LOOK THESE MISOGYNISTS WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING". What can we gain from posts like this one? That's not a critiquestion, that's a genuine question: I see a lot of generalized complaining about women, but this subreddit is for learning, not bitching. And saying "men run meetings better than women" isn't news, is it?

You make some good points, but defining alpha by desire is a bit circular. It makes the statement "alpha fucks, beta bucks" rather trivial, no? I agree that an alpha will draw vagingles, but using that as a definition is like defining a criminal as someone who's in jail: It's a consequence, not a cause.

And this is why I still go to church now and again. There are good takeaways from many spiritual messages, regardless of your theism. I think we're rather in agreement, then. As for OPs notion, I think there are a few ways of looking at it - you and I clearly started off from different perspectives. What I take from this is a case for living a more spiritual life - whether that spirituality stems from an organized religion or from careful consideration of your own values. While I respect the for…

Haha likewise, didn't catch this reply. In essence, my argument is that I'll hold in default higher regard the moral decisions of those who deliberated the morality of their actions more than those who didn't. In general, I believe those who think through morality are more moral than those who don't. This new belief system is superior to others because one should spend a longer time thinking of what is wrong vs. what is right? Ceteris paribus, yes. Of course, there are many people who don't real…

Well thought, and well written. I rarely say this, but you have found a hole in my reasoning that even I missed. If I'm understanding what you're saying, you mean that the "masses absent of morality" have their own morality, and by my own argument, I'm wrong to criticize it. Very well, this has often been a stumbling point for me. At the same time, though, I've always had a deep inherent belief in the morality of self-determination. Freedom, if you will. So I'm curious - how would you propose we…

Your argument is valid, but I'm keen to side with OP here, for three reasons: I believe the "Religion of You", as OP describes it, is centered around "a set of guidelines and boundaries that you believe in and that you follow to the death". That is, it is not absent morality, but rather bound to a strong self-determined morality. Be moral, but let not the masses determine what morality means. Furthermore, be firm in adhering to your principles The "Religion of You" that you speak of, that exists…

"Be emotionless" is something that gets thrown around this subreddit every once in a while, and with good reason - it's much easier to emerge victorious from a situation if you don't let your emotions cripple you. However, I believe many people neglect the real power of emotion. If we harness the right emotions to motivate us, we can be much more driven and much more effective in many situations. We can go from "I should do this" to "I'll give it my all or die trying, goddamnit". And above all, …

A good point, but consider context. If you're in a bar talking to a woman, she will know that you're interested no matter what the first thing you say is. Better to own it than pussyfoot.

I agree with almost everything you said, except the externalizing. Yes, I took a risk, and I got caught. But I did everything in my power to minimize the risk, and as I'd spoken with all my neighbors beforehand, and kept the party quiet, there was next to no chance of police arriving until this guy literally called 911 and reported the party. So right now, my take away is either shy away from any risk, or, when I take a risk and things don't go my way, figure out why they didn't and make sure th…

After I let him know that I'll be able to find out who it was (while also saying I'd never suspect a good friend like him), he's basically broken down. It's to the point that my parents are going to visit his parents tonight because my mom overheard him talking about suicide. Thank you for all your advice. At this point, I'll just leave him with his own conscience. I did fuck up, not by doing something which is legal at my age in two of the countries I'm a citizen in, but by putting my trust in …
