Well you're definitely a troll, but here's my advice anyway. Stop judging yourself by how many women you've slept with. It isn't an accurate way to gauge self worth, and it will never be satisfying. You are so much more than the people you've managed to bed. Everyone likes confidence, and that's where you should start. Even if you're Tom Cruise, you still have zero chance of banging about 90% of the women you see every day, so why agonize about what they think of you? Just do what you want and s…

Well currently the left wing in America is being eaten by regressives. And they aren't particularly nice to men. I'd consider myself slightly right of center but I know many on here are left leaning.

The second step is talking to an attorney. The first step is documenting everything. Every cent you spend on the girls, every cent you get from the ex, every cent you earn and every second they spend time with you vs her. I'm talking pictures, receipts, bank statements, the works. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row before getting into this and it will make your life much easier. It sounds like you're doing your best to ensure your daughters have good childhoods. We're rooting for you!

The problem is that America is fucking terrible at accepting new drugs or chemicals. It takes forever because the logic is that we'd rather miss out on a useful drug than risk using a harmful one. Give it time. There is demand. A supplier will arrive.

That sucks but people are allowed to say things in public spaces. I don't think women have a legitimate complaint when they complain about catcalling (just catcalling) and I don't think you do either. Sorry. If it's bothering you talk to the owner of the establishment or leave, or, if it's actually breaking the law, call the cops.

Thank you for the response. It sounds like you're genuinely interested. Before I respond, let me clarify something. I do not blame women for these problems. Not for any of them. It makes no sense to hold half the population accountable for laws and practices they did not begin, regulate, or even want in most cases. I do blame feminists, and to be specific, I blame the radical "kill all men feminists". I have a lot of respect for feminists like Dr. Christina Hoff Sommers who has spoken out at len…

Ok, I'll bite. I'm mad that we extend rights to women in our society that we deny to men. Namely: The right to genital integrity The right to vote without agreeing to die in a war The right to legally surrender a child without being required to pay 18 years worth of support. I'm also mad that when I bring up these issues, some people claim that I believe any number of things to make me go away. They throw words like "racist" "sexist" and "misogynist" at me with very little reason. I'm mad that o…

I'm on board with most of it, but I think feminists' hangup with sharia is more likely attributed to their intersection with political correctness. They can't criticize it because the people who do it are mostly brown, and they don't criticize brown people. Additionally, I would argue that any system that cuts pieces off its infants isn't privileging them. I think "women have privilege and they know it" isn't right. Or at least isn't the whole story. Historically, women have enjoyed the privileg…

Sounds fine to me. If the word is as intuitive as it sounds, then it wouldn't be something gendered, and therefore wouldn't give ammunition to the feminists.

And we all know how well mockery worked out for Paul and his "bash a violent bitch" push. When feminists see something they could conceivably get away with calling misogyny, they jettison everything else from their minds that they have to in order to make it happen. They get extreme tunnel vision and they spread around this mockery as the genuine article. They use it to convince people they're correct. That is why you /do not/ under any circumstances, say anything they could willfully take out o…

I'd prefer if we didn't use either term. To create our own mirrored term legitimizes their gendering of what should be a completely neutral topic: being condescending. We don't need to use "femsplaining", we just need to ask why such a word does not exist. And the answer is because no one would tolerate it.

I'm just gonna stop talking now, there's no reasoning with them... I could not disagree more. Yes it is very unlikely that you will get through to this nut job. I came here to suggest pictures, but since you already have that, I'll expand. Obviously don't go near them yourself, but if you could get a mutual friend to get pictures of these girls as well, that could also help. I don't know what Canadian laws are on this though. Precisely. We do not want to be "meninists". If we mindlessly campaign for anything that helps men even if it would be sexist then we're not better than feminists and we set the pendulum to swing back one day.

I responded below, but thought I'd add here to address the part about false rape. The reason I included that is because you listed your video as "preventing accusations of sexual assault" and false accusations of sexual assault are the only kind of accusations that the majority of men will ever have to worry about. I think it's worth at least addressing if you're going to gear your video towards all college age men.
/r/MensRights07/09/17 10:36 PM

Having read this, it seems that you're much more willing to look for objectivity here than your video made it seem (at least how I interpreted it). I apologize for biting your head off in my original comment. I think the core difference in the way I understand sexual assault to the way you have portrayed it is this: I acknowledge that this is a crime that can be committed by anyone. I acknowledge that 'good' people can commit this crime, especially when alcohol is involved. My contention however…

I'm sure you'll be mentioning slut shaming in this article, and that's certainly a valid point, but I think it's worth considering the other side of slut shaming. Women are shamed in this way (usually by other women) because they are showing affection to men "too much". They're being shamed for essentially devaluing sex by giving it away while the other women would prefer to make men work for it. This is basically shaming of women because they're associating too closely with men, and essentially…

I agree with your assessment here. There is always the danger of letting the radicals affect the movement as a whole. But here we have an advantage that feminism lacks. Who can say what a feminist is? Ask 10 different feminists and 10 different non feminists. You'll get 20 different answers. Where as we have a much more focused group with focused goals. Because of that, it's much easier to call out the fringe elements when they're saying things that are detrimental to the movement as a whole. I …

Maybe for some, but in my experience it's not a very big percentage. Anyone can stand up for men and their human rights. Genitals should never enter in to the equation. And the same goes for women's rights.

Hi, I'm a college aged male, currently in college. I watched your video, though admittedly after the 2 minute mark, I wanted to rage quit. Let's be honest. You titled and themed your video "how do I protect myself from accusations of sexual assault". But what every slide of the video was geared towards was "how do I make sure I don't sexually assault someone". You need to be honest here. You did not make this video to protect young men from false rape claims. You made it to try to protect young …

Your point about the civil rights movement is a good one. But in my opinion, if the government hadn't done anything, it still would have happened, just slower. However, it probably would have been less bloody. I see your points though, and they make sense. I think we may have to agree to disagree to a certain extent.

I was not familiar with this case. Having read it, I'm again torn. I understand why congress thought it necessary that this law be enforced, but I would have rather seen the hotel forced to allow black patrons by the free market, and by people avoiding the hotel for it's bigoted beliefs. The compulsion of the law is certainly faster, but I still think it's unethical to force people to render service to someone. It's the same with the Christian wedding cake fiasco from a few years back. Let them …
/r/MensRights04/09/17 11:10 PM

That's a fair point, and if we're talking about the government, then I'm all for it. But this is concerning a private business. I think they should be allowed to serve whoever they want. Now, if a business is blatantly discriminated against men like that bakery from a while back that charged men more than women, then I will not give them my business and encourage others not to, but I don't think it's ethical to force a place to serve someone.
/r/MensRights04/09/17 08:43 PM

The answer is yes, but I'm against it for other reasons. I think it's worth opposing any purely cosmetic surgery performed on an individual who can't consent. Especially if that surgery isn't really reversible.
/r/MensRights04/09/17 05:54 PM
3

Huh. Well I'm a little torn about this. On the one hand, I think private businesses should be able to refuse service to whoever they want, and I think the more women know how to use a gun in self defense the fewer will be raped, and as an added bonus the feminists will be less able to sell the lie of rape culture to harm men. On the other hand, it's still pretty shitty to deny someone entrance on the basis of their genitals.

Then you come along and say that it's not mutilation, it's rape. Never said that. It's both. My mistake. I intended for it to read "not just mutilation" but accidentally omitted the word. Get fucked. That's not an argument. You do appear very much to be focused on your morals and "telling the truth" as you would phrase it, even to the detriment of actually convincing people to not cut up babies. I think you've lost sight of the bigger picture.

Here you go - you have the moral high ground here. It's yours, take it. No one can take it away from you. But I am a pragmatist. I am a pragmatist who wants badly to see fewer infants mutilated. And so I will use whatever tactic is at my disposal (within reason), to convince people that mutilating babies is wrong. Then you come along and say that it's not mutilation, it's rape. And that is going to be considerably more than what most people are willing to consider. That makes these people think …

Same here. I thoroughly enjoy Dr. Randomercam on YouTube, and when he had Allison on in the ragening series (which I wish they'd continue), I really enjoyed her commentary and passion. But in the podcast, I just can't enjoy either of them. I don't know why. I support the badgers greatly, and the work they do is invaluable, but I haven't sat through a single podcast start to finish. Thank you for giving us a fair shake. Whether you decide to advocate for men's rights, or not that open mindedness is always appreciated. As for your question, I can only speak for myself. I suppose I would place some significant amount of blame at the feet of feminists who have campaigned for sexist laws. However, much of what we typically speak out against, essentially what I would term compulsory chivalry, is very much cultural. It's been engrained in us as long as recorded history: men do th…

I can see where you're coming from, but if you try to get it recognized as rape before you try to get it recognized as multination, you're going to make a lot of people think you're just hyperbolic. I don't think this is a tactic that will get us results. I'm not saying lie about it. I'm just saying that this particular argument is not in my opinion very useful in the current climate.

I'm torn. On the one hand, I like the idea of places where no one will be afraid of being censored for their opinions. On the other hand, places like that will be unlikely to contain people like feminists who typically deal poorly with criticism. This could lead to these new sites being echo chambers for people with our view points.

I think the phrase "self centered, overreacting irrational person" would describe your experience. In my opinion, we shouldn't be branding people as "SJW's" unless they exemplify SJW beliefs. If we just go around calling anyone who's acting like a cunt an 'SJW feminist', the term will lose all meaning just like the terms 'nazi' and 'misogynist' have.

Stress that it should be his choice. If you can afford it, offer to pay for the operation yourself if the boy wants it when he's 18. This is inaccurate. I don't remember exactly off the top of my head, but I believe something like 45% of women voted for trump. So yeah, there were probably some who voted based on vagina, but most were better than that. Let's remember this: Women are not, and have never been, the enemy. The women and men, who are working hard to strip men of their rights are the enemy.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to say that there was no pair bonding, just that promiscuity was also a thing. The same could be said today. Look at how many unmarried teenage pregnancies there are. We are a species that tends towards promiscuity as well as pair bonding. Even if we weren't, the statement remains true, women are the limiting factor on human growth and expansion due to our long gestational periods. That fact has shaped the evolution of our species.

Absolutely not. Certainly a part of them are cultural, but there are good logical reasons why they developed in the first place. Consider this: You have two early Stone Age villages. Both live in the same environment and are identical in every way. Each village is made up of 5 men and 5 women who are all functionally identical, with no sexual dimorphism. In village number 1, the 5 men go out and hunt, while the 5 women stay home and perform duties necessary to keep the tribe going, such as tendi…

Many people on this sub will make the sensitivity argument. I avoid that one because it will invariably draw the anger of people who are at the point in their life where they refuse to consider the possibility that they have been harmed by circumcision. Frankly, I don't think it matters if she's lying. If he had herpes, and had sex with her without telling her he had herpes, he is at fault. You wouldn't want to get something like HIV just because your girlfriend didn't mention she had it, would you? That law exists for a reason, and a good one.

This is the right question. Anyone who looks at what the average MRA is trying to accomplish can easily see that there is no compromise to be made.
/r/MensRights23/07/17 06:07 AM

Well the law is pretty clear cut. If he had herpes, and had sex without telling her he had herpes, then he is absolutely at fault. And I don't think that's a law that should change. But I'm not very familiar with this particular instance. There may well be circumstances here that I'm not aware of.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in my understanding, circumcision wasn't really discussed at all in the main steam 5 years ago. Where as today, we're seeing it the intactivist movement start to gain traction. Go on the Donald when they discuss FGM and you'll see at least a few people upvoted when they decry MGM. Thanks for the response. I have to ask, though, why a feminist and MRA? It's all labels at the end of the day, what really matters is what you believe and how you act on those beliefs, but I've always favored the label "WRA", since it more succinctly summarizes my viewpoints, while also avoiding lumping me in with the man haters in the feminist movement. Constant diligence. Here's how I look at it. Feminism became a thing because of the general opinion that the scale was shifted in men's favor. Regardless of how it was then, it's pretty clear that it's in women's favor now. Our goal should be to move the scale to a balancing point, and yes, that is in the same direction as away from women, but we need to watch our own ranks for the spite that feminists have displayed in this regard. I despise arguments like 'women have been oppressed for X centu…

I disagree. feminism promotes things that are harmful to both men and women, it's in everyone's best interest that it be opposed. Except maybe the people making money off their victimhood. I think there is room in the MRM to be both in support of men's rights and opposition to feminism. I agree with the first part of your comment though, that can get a bit tedious.

I think it goes beyond that. People don't like to acknowledge that they've been damage or harmed in some way that they can never really recover from. We see it in the far lefts rebranding of disabilities as 'differently abled' because that makes it easier for people to handle. It took me a long time before I acknowledged the downsides of my own circumcision because I didn't want to think that I had lost something, and I didn't want to think that my parents could have done something to me that wo…

That's certainly how some MGTOW think, but I know MGTOW who try very hard to distance themselves from actual sexism. I'll grant you that maybe I don't understand the particular sect of MGTOW you're talking about though.
/r/MensRights11/05/17 02:42 PM

I disagree. I don't think MGTOW should have to accept or associate with women, but can't we all agree that insulting and deriding women as a class gets us nowhere? Once again, I'm not accusing all MGTOW of this, but there are certainly some who do it. Saying things like "women are worse than cockroaches" will only make MGTOW look bad.
/r/MensRights11/05/17 02:19 PM

Let me reiterate. I'm not judging these groups as a whole. But you have to admit there are certain MGTOW that hold pretty shitty views on women in general. One springs to mind that described them as worse than cockroaches. And PUA's can be manipulative, and actually objectify women sometimes.

None of us are fighitng against women. I disagree. I'd vote for something like 'women's rights advocate' similar to us. It's what I consider myself. It's useful in that it is self defining, unlike feminism. That helps protect it from the mutations that feminism has suffered.

[spoilers] I've seen the movie, and this is nonsense. The father is a bad guy but it's not casting men in a bad light. Male characters are allowed to be evil, that's not the sort of thing we should have a problem with. Additionally, I thought this movie did a great job of depicting the relationship between two of the female characters and making them actually strong and independent without having to shit on men to do it. It also showed an extremely strong personal bond between the main character…

I hope it helps you. As much as we quibble over labels, they don't matter nearly as much as what we personally say and do. But in my opinion, if the sane and rational feminists like you appear to be want to disassociate themselves from the kill all men types, I think you guys need a new name.

This is what people are talking about when they say they've 'taken the red pill'. Now you know what feminism has become, and why it is bad. No, this doesn't make you a misogynist. Quite the opposite, I'd argue that treating women like perpetual victims of life is itself pretty misogynistic. Honestly it sounds to me like the Red Pill documentary would be good for you to watch. It was filmed by someone who it seems to me was in your exact situation.

Am I understanding correctly that you're looking for pros for a male only draft? If so, here's the big one: Fuckloads of men from your country can die without significantly damaging your country's ability to create the next generation of people. Compare that to lots of women dying. If that happens, each death represents 2 to 3 fewer kids in your next generation, where as, if it's men, the remaining men will just have sex with more women and pick up the slack.

/u/ericallonde hit the nail on the head, but to add to that, you are not at fault here. No matter what you've done, no matter how you've messed up, nothing justifies you having to take abuse like this. This is not your fault. It's the fault of your wife who either does not know how to express her anger safely, or doesn't care. Either is inexcusable in an adult woman. You need to leave.

I can understand where you're coming from, but I still disagree. Let me use an analogy to show you my perspective. Let's say you're walking home from work and night, and you come across someone attacking someone else with a small pocket knife. Which is the more sensible course of action, to break out your first aid kit, and start treating the injured person, or to stop the attacker before trying to help the victim? First off, thanks for taking the time to give the MRM a chance, but I disagree with your conclusion. Men's rights is not something feminists want to see exist. Because a great many feminists would like to reduce men's rights in many ways, i.e., custody rights, eroding due process for rape trials, and the Duluth model, men's rights must oppose feminism. As for the point of changing the name, I don't think it would do the slightest bit of good. The phrase MRA has a bad connotation because feminist…

This is a tricky issue, as I've said before. I'm of the firm opinion that it is unethical to either force a woman to abort a baby or to force her to bring it to term. I also think it's unethical to have a mother stuck taking care of a kid with no help from the father unless she's aware of it in advance. Because of this, I don't think fathers should have legal abortion of an already born child. I think a better solution is to give the father the option to end his responsibility at any point durin…

Your analogy isn't even internally consistent. Surely if there is food in someone else's bowl and I took it, the only outcomes would be either two half filled bowls, or my bowl full and the other empty. But shit analogy or not, I agree with what (I think) you're trying to say. "Men should not achieve their rights by taking them away from women". I agree. Why is this movement about imitating feminism It isn't. Men have plenty of issues but they're fixed by approaching it like a feminist. The legal system and colleges have been approaching things like feminists for the last few decades. It has not fixed anything.

Give me one reason why an exclusively female supremacist group needs to exist in America today. Women have superior rights to men. From my comment elsewhere in this thread. I disagree. You'll see this from a lot of circumcised men, not just the ignorant ones. I would argue that no, they cannot. Sex appeal is a distinctly human characteristic, not one that is even applicable to an object, so the entire concept of 'sexual objectification' doesn't make sense. At least from my perspective.

The man who reaches to pet a dog and gets bit, eventually stops trying to pet the dog. True, and that's sound logic when we're referring to one dog. But when you're applying this to multiple people and judging them based on previous encounters with previous people, you're harming only yourself, and you're doing it without good reason. Just my two cents.

Companionship has long been a huge reason that both men and women need each other. And just because men can cook doesn't mean they don't need women. Besides, if you intend to have kids, they'll be much better off in a two parent home.

Well that's pretty shitty. I'm glad that if we're enforcing this law, we're enforcing it both ways, but I think we're deluding ourselves when we suggest that anyone under 18 has no agency whatsoever. If someone lies about their age, I don't believe that the person having sex with them should be able to be charged with statutory rape. The trick is proving that they lied, and that a reasonable person could believe them.

I think the predominate push is honestly because the parents think it's in the child's best interests. General lack of knowledge, and the father having had a circumcision likely contribute to it as well. If it was mainly caused by anger, it would be much easier to change people's minds. Equality would consist of women offering the average man sex freely and frequently. Until that happens, prostitution is a symptom of men's subordination. Come on man. Even if that was realistic, it's still stupid. Women don't owe men sex, this isn't an equality thing. And if they are put in a situation where they need to, say, drag a 200 pound unconscious man out of a burning building, and they can't, then diversity quotas have directly caused that death.

It sounds like universal retests every so often would solve that. I don't know how it works in fire departments, but there are recertification tests every so often for EMS.
/r/MensRights16/12/16 02:36 AM

People will die because of this. If a woman can pass the tests that firemen pass, then I'm all for letting her graduate. But there is NO place for quotes in a job field this dangerous. We cannot afford to send anyone but our best into a fire. I hope not a single one of the women who got in on quotas and couldn't pass the physical tests gets hired. It would be grossly irresponsible of anyone to send them in to fight a fire.

Wow. This article basically translates to "help, my boyfriend is too considerate of my feelings". It really is damned if you do, damned if you don't. I think it's a point worth making though. women have not been clamoring for affirmative consent. Feminists have. And feminists very frequently do not represent the interests of women.

This. I appreciate the sentiment, but it's incorrect. We cannot give them an inch, and suggesting that there is a discrepancy in the amount of money women are paid for the same hours as men is giving them an inch. They will happily use that to justify more idiotic laws.

Only a pitiful male would collude in his own gelding I disagree. 'Only good man' syndrome is certainly part of the mindsets of many male feminists. Besides, don't you think you're being a little bit hyperbolic? I can't say I'm innocent of that crime (see above), but surely calling them geldings is at best unhelpful, and at worst damaging to the cause? That's actually a really good point. Perhaps I was overzealous in making my comment. If their political beliefs were fine and dandy before the election, they shouldn't be any different now.

So was this just to piss us off? I mean, yeah, that's awful. That's extremely shitty and a failure of our court system. I can't help but notice though. This article calls him a rapist. When a woman rapes a man or even another women, who even deigns to suggest that maybe she was in the wrong? There is more than enough room to condemn this and the failure of our court system to prosecute female rapists. Good try though.

It's lack of orthodoxy. Very many people claim to be feminists and they play from about a hundred different rule books. If they had a hard fast list of what it means to be a feminist and could effectively denounce those who were actually hateful, it would clean itself up in weeks. So basically, the same problem Islam has.

However, my argument is that the only people that actually care about circumcision had a physical issue with their own. Perhaps I missed your point. The issue here is that, while I would also guess that this is probably the case (overall, obviously there will always be some individuals who buck the curve, e.g. Mike Stephenson, and the honeybadgers), it's difficult to say for sure if it's accurate or not. Now, obviously this depends on the type of FGM we're talking about, if its the variety where only a small portion of labia is removed, that isn't that severe, but in instances where the entire clitoris is removed, I'd say that's definitely worse since the analogous procedure on men would involve the removal of the entire glans. How about no? First off, why are you assuming that just having a woman president means that women would be unfairly advantaged? Isn't that the exact mistake feminists make when they assume that a male majority in congress means that women's issues won't get attention? I'm happy to concede that Hillary is a shitbag, but that doesn't mean that any woman would be in the same position. "Fuck women" is a terrible, terrible mindset. I agree that the prison system is too lax, and that it needs to be a strong deterrent. I would be in favor of most of those (in high security, federal prisons), with the exception of healthcare. I vehemently disagree. While we should absolutely be trying to reduce incidence of false rape claims, we should be trying to make it as easy as possible to come forward with actual rape claims. Now, if they are proven to be false, they should absolutely be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, but, and this is the important part, curtailing the rights of another group of people on the grounds that it is something we lack, is spiteful. It's also what the feminists have done for decades. It…

I disagree. Look at the picture. The message it's obviously supporting is that male circumcision removes much more skin than female circumcision. That's not true in many cases, particularly ones that remove the clitoris, as that would be analogous to removing the glans of the penis, not the prepuce. Just to make sure you understand where I'm coming from: I dislike circumcision and would love to see it made illegal, but I don't think it is in our best interests to resort to cherry picking things …

Not to disagree with the message, but I would be interesting to see if these are both average instances, or if it's cherry picked from the most extreme examples.

I don't think taking away women's choices is what we should be looking at. We should be trying to give those choices to men.

I disagree with the first part. You can sleep with any woman you want and not get called a slut (vague terms like rapist may be thrown around upon occasion), if you sleep with men, you most certainly will be called a slut.

All right, I'll bite. The term "privilege" is kind of hard to work with, since it could apply to social or biological advantages, but there are certainly a few: Peeing while standing up is certainly convenient Men tend to have an easier time maintaining a healthy body weight, because of the way we store fat Men can take part in all combat roles in the military (yes, this is absolutely overshadowed by the draft, but it's still worth mentioning, since there are people who want to do that sort of t…

Ok, since you didn't give a competing definition, I'll assume we're going with mine. The answer is yes, it's still oppression, because the slave owner knows it's wrong. And there is no one in the world so deluded they think it's ok to own another human being.
/r/MensRights01/10/16 06:59 PM

I don't think they're comparable. I think someone who is ignorant (willfully or otherwise) of the detrimental effects of circumcision would liken it to removing wisdom teeth, or fixing a cleft palate, something done to increase quality of life. In order for something to be categorized as oppression, it has to be willfully done for the detriment of the people being oppressed, at least that's always how I've defined it. Maybe we're working off of different definitions, what's yours?
/r/MensRights01/10/16 06:25 PM

Eh, given that there are feminists who define themselves as being trans exclusive, we would be more friendly to them. Neutral rates higher on the friendliness scale than malice.

/r/MensRights30/09/16 09:36 PM

Agreed. Maybe I'm being less clear than I think I am. Let me try to clarify. I don't think circumcision is a good thing, or even that it should be legally performed on anyone under 18. I do agree that it is mutilation. My only contention is that does not constitute "oppression" because it is not done with the intent to oppress today.
/r/MensRights30/09/16 09:34 PM

In certain situations quite possibly, but on the whole, I don't think it's intended as a bad thing. And no, that doesn't make it better, but I think we should try not to be hyperbolic with the language we use for it.
/r/MensRights30/09/16 09:13 PM

Perhaps I was unclear. I was trying to convey that, while it did originate as something to hinder men, that is not why it is still in practice today.

If you come here looking for people who are against circumcision, you're going to be successful in that end. I would hesitate to call anything going on in the first world "oppression" though. Circumcision is so popular because puritans started spreading it around to make masturbation more difficult. I think it is definitely to men's detriment, but the reasoning most people have for it is not rooted in any desire to oppress men. I was circumcised because my parents were afraid that if I looked 'd…

There isn't and shouldn't be one. We should not lend legitimacy to their ridiculous gendered term for condescension by coming up with our own.
/r/MensRights23/09/16 05:11 AM

How many women can spell it correctly? Not relevant. I agree, we should not be paying any credence to people who just hurl accusations like this with no substance to their claims, but I don't think that means we should just reject all claims on their face. There are some in our sphere, who actually say some things that would qualify for misogyny, and I think we should knowledge and try to reduce that. It's the only way we'll get people to take misandry seriously.
/r/MensRights17/09/16 07:52 PM
5

Funny, but in all seriousness, we shouldn't just dismiss an argument, however insane. That's the same as what they do with their "male tears" nonsense. My tactic has always been to ask them to name a right males in America have, that females don't, then the inverse.
/r/MensRights15/09/16 02:51 AM
2

Thanks. In my opinion, we shouldn't make the MRM about attacking anyone, or anything unless it relates directly to men's rights, no matter how much they deserve it. We really don't want to give the feminists any ammo, or validate their tall tales about us. We have a poor reputation, and I don't think it's our fault, but it means we have to be as on point as possible. /rant

I see the point you're making, but what solution does that leave us? We can't advocate for men's rights, and NOT advocate for women's, can we? Wouldn't that eventually lead to the exact opposite of our current conundrum?
/r/MensRights04/09/16 04:18 PM

But I haven't even mentioned responsibilities. What do you call someone who advocates for equal rights and responsibilities for both sexes? Egalitarian still sounds like the most appropriate answer.

I've always seen it a different way. If you're a men's rights advocate, and a woman's rights advocate, then you're an egalitarian. If you're either, but not both, then you leave yourself open to causing the same kinds of problems we have today.

First off, let me say, good for you for posting your opinion here. You'll probably catch a lot of flak for it, but I'm glad to see different opinions here, because it means this place isn't an echo chamber. The book the crucible is about the Salem witch trials. Basically the town of Salem hanged many innocent people because one woman pointed the finger at them and called them witches. The sentiment "we must not suffer a witch to live" was a driving force in that they believed it was better that they kill innocent men and women than allow potential witches to be free. I drew the parallel because this is exactly what the idiot in the original post is calling for. And witch hunts are exactly what she …

Saying you aren't a racist is bait for a Kafka trap. One of the most common Kafka traps ever. Do what you want, but IMO, including anything to the effect of 'I'm not a racist' in something you do or say just invites anyone reading to try to find racism.

Your contention is that the word can only have one meaning, and that this must be the original one. I suggest you google "US equal pay act". You will see that it was passed in 1969 (IIRC) and does exactly what you suggest. Obama even amended this act to redundantly restate equal pay. What else do you think we should do? EDIT: another point I might add, is that few to no people believe the wage gap is whole cloth fabricated, just that the differences are easily accounted for by men and women's differing choices. The original statistic that people use (77 cents) was never meant to describe all f…

No true Scotsman fallacy. The definition of feminism is extremely fluid and greatly differs from person to person.

I wish you the best of luck. I would tell you to break up with her, but I'm sure you took it into account when you started dating her. I would recommend you get a video recording of her begging you for sex before each time so you have a leg to stand on if she decides you raped her. As for solid sources, I suggest /r/mrref.

Well said, but I disagree that we legally have to let them do it. A case could easily be made that infant circumcision impedes that child's rights, but yes, it is very complicated, I don't think there is an easy solution to be found.

Well thought out, I hope you don't get swamped in downvotes for this. I had a similar opinion to you for a while, but consider this, what if the religion said that your right leg must be removed at birth? Yes, that would be much more extreme, but you are arguing that the religion should be able to practice freely. I don't think we would allow that practice to continue in America, regardless of how popular it was. I am all for freedom of religion, but that freedom does not extend to what you do t…

This is stupid. He posted this to /r/funny, presumably where they got this. Yes maybe they had a stressful relationship, but it is also quite possible that they had a lot of sex. That would tend to increase his heart rate. There as also a myriad of other things that could explain it, and very little to suggest there is a direct correlation to her being bad for his health. Perhaps I'm a minority but I don't think this belongs here. This strikes me very much like the level of pedantic nonsense tha…

Good. There should never be quotas based on gender alone. Now since a choir works a lot better with a range of voices, it could make sense to set brackets for people i.e. We need X sopranos, and that would accomplish the same end. but the way we fix this is most definitely not with more quotas. Sweden is plenty fucked up already.

I don't know what the prevailing opinions in this sub are, but I definitely understand why maternity leave is typically longer than paternity leave, and think that should be the case. There are legitimate biological reasons for it. Of course I don't think they should be able to take a paid vacation from work and not have it affect their career, but if someone just had major surgery from a C-section, some time off work is pretty understandable. What do you guys think?

I think you could go so far as to say that the majority of the people in the first world could rightfully describe themselves as men's rights advocates if they chose to. The problem is the stigma that feminists have worked long and hard to attach to our group, which is extremely effective at stopping people who regularly advocate for mens rights from calling themselves MRA's. Because of this, the most effective way to gain support for our cause is to show very clearly that we are not the stereot…

I agree, but let's keep in mind that just because it is probably a false flag, doesn't mean we should just assume it's one. It is definitely worth our time to address these as they appear, whether they are trolls or actual radicals, because it will keep us from becoming like feminists in safe space echo chambers, and because it will help improve our image.

I think the idea is to keep people from taking what someone else says out of context. I agree, one party consent to record is the better option, but I understand the logic behind two party.

Sounds about right. All it's missing is that since most candy crush players are women, that means that half of all gamers are women and they're totally missing half of their audience by making these misogynistic games that appeal only to men!

He NEVER raped her We don't know that. I absolutely agree that the media and courts have a pro women, anti men basis, but let's not get carried away here. There are multiple reasons why she could have lied under oath. I'm not saying he did rape her, and the default absolutely should be innocent until proven guilty, but we don't have all the facts here, we can't definitively say something like that.

Newborn male circumcision in the U.S. declined from 64.9 percent in the 1960s to 58.3 percent in 2010. I had thought it was considerably higher than that. I mean it's still awful, but nice to know there has been a decline.
/r/MensRights23/02/16 03:28 PM

Seriously. That's why they're doing a good chunk of this. That's why they don't care about people who are accused, because whether they're innocent or not, it looks more like the colleges are doing something if they find them guilty. They would rather see innocent men burn than suffer a witch to live.
/r/MensRights23/02/16 03:21 PM

I agree that people need to vent, but if they're doing it by saying things that are the same as feminists, how can we say that we're any better than them? You could justify a lot of batshit things feminists do by saying that they just need to vent. I would very much not like to see MRA's drinking from female tears mugs under the guise of venting.

That sounds all well and good, but I'm about 99% sure /r/feminism would say the same. I really agree with this transparent ban list. I disagree with you, but I understand where you're coming from. However, given that if an older man has sex with a teenage girl and goes to jail for it, should it not be just as criminal for the gendered reverse to happen?

While I agree this is a problem, I would not go so far as to call any group in our society 'oppressed'. That opens up a can of worms that we don't want to deal with. Because as the SJW's put it "a group cannot be both oppressor and oppressed". Whether or not that phrase has any value, it makes it seem like anyone who claims "oppression" is claiming that their group is the only group with Problems. And while I would agree that men face more problems than women in first world counties, it is not a…

This is one trial on one individual. And the fact that the results were 'destroyed' sheds further doubt. If this were true it would certainly lend credence to arguments against circumcision, and help our cause, but we need to look at things that support us with the same level of scrutiny we use for bullshit like the 1/5 or wage gap statistics. This is sketchy at best. I would love to see more research on this, and if this opens a door to further study, then fantastic, but this article itself rea…

Are you sure that's not because of the individual organizations? Here in the US, the boy scouts is boys only, but venturing is coed. I'm a Boy Scout and i would definitely love to see girls allowed in all aspects of the BSA. Girlscouts is a joke, and allowing girls into Boy Scouts (like other countries) would probably cause Girl Scouts to have a massive decline and eventually go away.

Every presidential candidate scrambles to be as radical as possible in the primaries and then races back towards the middle the moment they have the party win. What Hilary Clinton says now has zero bearing on what she actually believes. Though that isn't exactly a new thing.

I think we should consider Johns motivation for this. I've been a fan of the vlogbrothers for a long time (I was actually about to post this here if I hadn't seen it here already), and he is big on tumblr. Look at this dislike ratio on this video, that is ridiculous for the vlogbrothers. While I think he could have been considerably more honest concerning the 4% unaccounted for, I think it was pretty brave for him to say anything at all to discredit the wage gap as feminists see it. While I woul…

I cannot speak for this sub, because I'm new here, but I frequent /r/tumblrinaction and IMO they suffer from similar problems. I think the most effective way to keep a place from becoming an echo chamber is by being the change you want to see. In other words, do not let the 'woman hating' comments stand unchallenged. Obviously censorship is not the answer, but hopefully the comments will be able to stand on their own merit rather than just mindless circlejerking.

For me, it was from watching YouTube videos by dr. Randomercam. I believe his quote was: "if you claim to be an egalitarian, then you are by definition, a men's rights advocate and a women's rights advocate. I couldn't find any flaws in his reasoning, and I considered myself an egalitarian, so it made sense.
