Actually it's a pretty sweet video. I've seen a few with this judge and he's a good man. He basically asks the kid to decide between three fines, a small one, a medium one and a large one. The kid thinks about it and says the medium one. I think the judge praises the kid for being honest and either throws the case out or gives the father the smaller fine. He praises the father for doing a good job raising someone who thinks things through and tells him to keep it up.

I feel I'm falling into the fallacy he describes as I want to believe him and just brush the accusations off as ridiculous. For the OP. Her name is Cassie Jaye and she directed the documentary about the Men's Rights Movement called The Red Pill. I really enjoyed the movie and was surprised how open to foreign ideas she was. After watching it you should look into some of the videos where she discusses the backlash from making the film. On a more serious note it's where a man spreads his legs slightly due to the pressure on his groin if he sits too close-legged. Most men sit with their legs slightly apart because it's more comfortable for us due to this and our hips being angled slightly different than a woman's. Apparently it is now also a micro aggression or hate crime depending on how radicalised the person you are talking to is.

I can't really blame him. It's his daughter and it's kind of his job to have her back but this is exactly the kind of stuff that would have been laughed out of the courtroom if Weinstein had tried this defence. That... was a really depressing read. I really hope none of my children have to go through any of what happened here. I'm glad to read an article that just discussed what happened rather than appearing to make judgements. Yes, some aspects of MRA beliefs can be somewhat childish. I agree 100%. It's just not worth the risk. You have to watch your back in this situation. If you aren't absolutely sure, you are better off going home alone. Risking your freedom, career, family, friends and reputation over this is not worth one night of sex.

I agree it's a problem. The issue is if the person is under the age of consent, they legally cannot give it. So even though they agreed to sex it can't be viewed as informed consent or something like that.

Fair point. I've looked up a couple of things and you are right. Thank you for pointing that out. I saw a similar article on BBC news a little while ago. The headline was: Almost twice as many women killed themselves in prison this last year. When they went through the article they said the total number of female suicides had risen to 13 women over the last twelve months. Big fan of Karen myself here. She was the first personality that really got me interested in the movement. I'd heard of it before but never sat down to review things until I saw her. For those interested the first piece that made me think of this was a document about homelessness called something like: Jill gets welfare, Jack becomes homeless by Alicia Patterson. I actually think the end of the article really hammers the point home more than anything else. This tag doesn't mean just white men, which is of course the patriarchy as everyone else is oppressed by the white man. But black, Asian, Latino, disabled, gay, trans. I've seen some of those videos before and what I feel is missing to really put the nail in the coffin is after a group of people have watched a woman abuse a man for several minutes; how will they react when he defends himself? No I agree, but the grass roots of the movement were sound I believe. The problem was no one stopped and said hang on, arent we going too far the other way? MRA is the antithesis to feminism because it had to be. But I've seen a lot of mens rights activists too who utterly believe women have everything and they have nothing to strive for. That's just as damaging to equality as the other way round. In my opinion.
