Children were not always valued like they are now. There was a time when people were happily willing to let children work in mines. Fast forward to present day where children are a lot more protected and cherished (some may even say spoiled) is mostly down to social conditioning. It's also why there are more and more videos popping up of young men walking past women getting harassed or even assaulted without helping at all. They're growing up in an increasingly polarized world between men and wo…

The argument against biology is that not all emotional vulnerability in men is treated as equal by women. There's not a single women on earth today who would lose attraction if they see a man cry right after his child gets killed in a tragic accident. In fact, they would most likely go and comfort him. Conversely, if a man bursts into tears when a robber breaks into the house, then many women would lose attraction instantly. Why are the two situations treated so differently? Social conditioning.…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 07:18 PM

Exactly, which makes OP's point meaningless. The best option for women (and a certain extent men) is to date within your league. Otherwise, you're just setting yourself up for misery.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/26 07:15 PM

See my comment above, they don't get pumped and dumped. They just get treated like shit in the relationship (for the most part).
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/26 07:13 PM

As someone who has worked in high finance/politics, I've known many many men in relationships where they're 2 to 3 leagues better than their partner. Let me tell you a dirty little secret: most women in those relationships get treated like dogshit.

What kind of fucked up mentality is this? Just because a man hasn't been drafted doesn't mean they can't speak up about this issue. I've never been assaulted, but I can empathize and speak out for those who have been assaulted. You're literally proving the point of the OP.

Tell that to the Ukrainian soldiers who have been getting blown the fuck up. The question I’m wondering is when the Ukraine war ends, will the women there be forcibly impregnated to deal with the incoming demographic crisis.

But what's the point of knowing how to keep a woman, if you don't know how to pick out a woman? Seems like putting the cart before the horse.

I mean look at all the young men flocking to Andrew Tate and Fresh & Fit for relationship advice. Most young people who aren't given guidance feel lost and discarded, so they turn to "toxic" influencers for support.

The birds and the bees talk is different though because that just usually focus on safe sex. I’m more referring to conversations around relationships and even marriage. Like both my parents had a talk with me as a teen about how girls should treat me in a relationship and red flags to watch out for. I know a lot of girls get this talk from their fathers, but none of the guy friends I have ever got this talk at all. They were basically forced to figure all this shit out on their own, and a lot of…

You hit the nail on the head. All these debates end up in the same avenue. The average woman just doesn't find the average man attractive. That's it. All this noise about men increasing or decreasing their standards doesn't mean shit in the end.

There's another popular thread this week where the OP claims that women don't settle for providers and beta bucks. It's complete and utter bullshit. Like you said, in today's world, unless you're one of the lucky few to strike it rich in your profession or are born into generational wealth, there ain't no way you're getting by on a single income. No fucking chance at all

100% agree, but this is exactly why nothing will change. Men have far less in-group bias than women do. Men in power care more about their own interests and protecting women than they do about tackling male homelessness or incarceration rate or pretty much any male-specific issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/25 02:37 AM

Not accusing you of doing so. But it's a very real possibility that this happens as the gender divide grows larger and larger in the future
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 10:30 PM

People venting about not being attractive doesn't hurt anyone. It's when they start taking action on their thoughts and words, that things get really ugly

Women, on average, tend to be far more risk-adverse than men. If you engage in more risky behavior (i.e. wandering outside at 2am or getting into a fistfight over disrespect), than you'll probably face more violence
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 10:17 PM

Why are you pretending that only women care less? Plenty of male politicians vote for wars
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 10:13 PM

I agree, but their logic is "people in power" do this to men, and most of the "people in power" are men. It's a somewhat flawed argument, but I can understand why they feel that way
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 10:10 PM
13

You also have to keep in mind that the people in power don't empathize with a lot of issues that the average man faces. A fat cat politician isn't going to go out of his way to tackle male homelessness, drug abuse, etc. unless their constituents push for it because they've likely never gone through that experience themselves
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 10:08 PM

Oh, trust me, I wouldn't do that, but a lot of young men would, that's my point. As long as the majority of men are desperate, nothing will change
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:56 PM

I agree with your overall premise. However, if every single man only picks women who want them, there's going to be a shit ton of lonely men

Unless you're attractive or successful, you'll get very few dates, if at all by doing this. That's why so many men wine and dine women in the first place
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/24 04:18 PM

Right, but it’s still for the most part culturally engrained for men to be the protectors, and effective protectors must be composed and stoic under stress. The day that men aren’t sent to the front lines of war first, is the day that stoicism in men isn’t some huge expectation that they feel pressured to meet

Bingo, do people really think the average woman would appreciate their partner bursting into tears and saying how scared they are if a robber breaks in? No, they expect the man to toughen up and protect the family

We're already heading in that direction, no need to accelerate it. Because when we eventually get to that point, we're all fucked, both men and women

Not sure what point you're trying to make. Sure, some attractive and successful people don't beg for attention, but there are just as many who do. To say that every single person who begs for attention must be overcompensating for their unattractiveness is completely unreflective of the real world
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 08:15 PM

I'm not saying self expression doesn't reveal who people are. I'm saying it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. A man driving a lifted truck might be compensating for his insecurity, but as long as he's attractive and/or successful, most women won't give a shit. I work in high finance and see it all the day. This industry attracts some of the most egotistical, insecure people you can imagine, but they usually have no issues attracting women or getting into relationships because the maj…

But personality matters very little if the person in question is attractive and/or successful. Hell, attractive and/or successful people get away with committing actual crimes
/r/PurplePillDebate13/08/24 07:37 PM

It's more simple than that: if you're attractive and successful, you're confident. If you're unattractive and unsuccessful/mediocre, you're cocky. It really has very little to do with actual behavior Michael Jordan is one of the cockiest athletes of all time and constantly talked trash, yet he's beloved by millions and considered to be the GOAT. If some random bench player behaved even 1/10th the way MJ did, he would be despised and clowned on

Women want men to be stoic in difficult times (e.g. a robber breaks into the house, he gets fired from his job and the bills are due, etc.). They want men to be exciting and bubbly in good times. The thing is this standard is almost impossible to achieve. Most stoics I've met have the same even-kneeled temperament in both difficult and good times

Why should they be when modern women are nowhere near like their mother's or grandmother's? There are no longer incentives for men to try as hard in the past, which is why we're seeing more and more of them dropping out of society

I mean it's all relative. I went to school in a college town, and one-night flings were pretty common. Even after I graduated and went to work in a big city, one-night stands were fairly common among my friends who frequented bars and really wanted to pursue that kind of lifestyle. Conversely, I can probably count the number of steady, happy LTRs I know of on one hand
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/24 07:18 AM
3

Sure, but most people are not attractive enough to overcome a major personality flaw, poor finances, or a plethora of factors that affect LTRs. I would say in today's day and age, almost anyone who tries really hard and has somewhat realistic standards can get one-night flings. Steady LTRs are far more difficult to form because there's so much on the line

Ah, that's a great word to put it. Also, I don't think you're a hypocrite at all because at least you acknowledge this is a serious issue. I just can't stand the people who say, "falling birth rates, fewer people getting married, the death of community and the nuclear family. No problem at all. Everyone is free to do as they please. Who gives a shit about future consequences"
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/24 06:52 AM

I think it's more so there's this rising sentiment in society to just accept things for how they are without calling it out. Oh, women nowadays don't want to get married and have kids anymore? Well that's their choice, and we shouldn't question, judge, or even try to understand it at all. Never mind the potential dire consequences of this trend, let's just accept everyone's decisions
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/24 06:45 AM

Lol, I feel like you don't need to understand history to know this. It's kinda common sense, but I guess that's extremely lacking in this world nowadays

The reason you haven't dated yet is more important than the age. Some people refuse to have sex before marriage. Others are laser-focused on their careers and haven't really attempted to date. Now, if you're really putting in effort to be in a relationship and haven't by your 30s, then it's probably time to do some serious reflection or consider lowering your standards. Also, how are we defining dating here? Are we talking about a one-night fling with some random girl at a bar or serious long-te…

I don't know in what setting a man can call a woman a whale without being called out or criticized for saying something disrespectful (unless it's a comedy show). Also, when it comes to relationships, women have far higher standards than men. There's a reason why the 666 rule exists and is almost normalized in today's society
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/24 06:23 AM

My perspective above is based on what women have told me. Oftentimes when one of my girl friends tells me that a guy is acting creepy at a bar or some other establishment, they say they feel more grossed out than threatened. Sure, there are a few times when they feel genuinely afraid of their life and want me to walk them home, but the vast majority of time their complaint is "uh, that guy is so weird and awkward. I don't want to be around them"
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/24 04:39 PM

Right, but most women often have a choice. They might not be happy with all their options, but at least they exist. The average man has pretty much fuck all. The rich kid can choose to live in a penthouse apartment. They might be unhappy doing so for whatever reason (feel guilty, don't want to be alone, etc.), but the option is on the table. The guy working minimum wage has no other option but to eat shit and pray for a miracle
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/24 04:34 PM
3

What I mean is that since women usually have more options than men when it comes to dating, men often have lower standards of beauty. Similar to how if I have few job options, I'll take the shitty minimum wage offer because it's better than nothing I disagree with your point about the fat acceptance movement. It's actually the opposite. It's totally acceptable in society to fat shame men or mock their height and dick size, but women are often off limits because society is against punching down o…

You're basically comparing kids of rich parents who choose to live in their friend's basement but in a snap of finger can move to a penthouse apartment to a minimum wage worker that's living in a tiny flat. If you can't tell the difference, you're being purposely obtuse
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/24 10:32 AM

Yeah, this is why male victims of rape and sexual assault are hesitant to seek help. Just look the OP, they can't even fathom women committing sexual assault. It's like their brain is about to explode. Sometimes I wonder how people end up like this
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/24 10:27 AM
3

The issue is what men consider fat and unattractive and what women consider fat and unattractive is very different. There's a reason why the fat acceptance movement is way more geared towards women than men
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/24 10:06 AM

Creepy often isn't associated with a feeling of being threatened as much as it's a feeling of being disgusted/embarrassed. When I see a lunatic waving a knife around, I feel more threatened than disgusted. Vice versa, when I see an unkempt man approaching women in a very socially awkward manner, I feel more disgusted/embarrassed than threatened
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/24 10:01 AM

You just made a sweeping generalization by saying that women have a plethora of options, which is accurate. You do realize that generalizations almost always have some truth behind them, right?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
