Nah, my friend, she is pissed at you because she left and had the affair. Women like this are terrible at emotion regulation and taking accountability for any of their actions, even though they would have you and everyone around them believing they are poor, innocent victims who had no other option in the end. As long as she can spin the narrative and turn you into the villain of her life, she can justify her awful behavior, including but not limited to tearing out your heart and breaking up you…

Damn, she waited til the divorce started?? Stop your gloating over there, sir! (I’m joking, this shit hurts regardless, and I’m sorry you went through it.)

I’d venture to bet that “Jimmy on Relationships” was one of them 🙄😆 ironic that cheating women rely so heavily on cheaters to tell them how to win and get ahead in life.

It probably looks a lot like a new man doing all the “empire” building for her while she acts like a so-called “pillow princess” … until she decides to call that abuse. And the worst part of all is that far too many men just like us simp for women just like them because they don’t bother to do the inner work before chasing new tail and fucking up their own lives and well-being for it. Foolishness all the way around.

This is painful, man. I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but two years later and a year and a half post-divorce I still struggle with my ex leaving the state to go be with her new man that she started seeing while we were married. Shouldn’t matter anymore, and I wouldn’t even go looking, but lucky for me (/s), my kids tell me all about her when they are with me for my half of the time. Except of course the part where she is off getting fucked by someone not me (but of course it was “not lik…

Late thirties divorced halftime dad of two kids, and I second this notion. I’m not sure I’m even happy to have a partner after being married my entire adult life, but most certainly not marriage.

I’m fucking angry. My daughter just got done talking about a song that helped me through my divorce and was all, “What if he was actually the problem and made her uncomfortable, and the new guy made her feel comfortable and safe?” Parroting my ex almost word for word. Goddammit, man, it’s hard to even want to be a parent when bitches like my ex are so fucking awful.

Yeah, honestly? I feel like it was all a waste. I can’t even get positive about who she was because the whole entire time that I was lifting her up and loving her … I will never actually know if she loved me, cared about me, was faithful to me, or if there was anything beyond simple obligation in it for her... Her stories in the end turned me, her, and US into something I would have never recognized. But that’s “her truth” so the truth will never actually matter. Not to her. Not to others. And s…

Friends? I will likely never even look at my ex-wife within the same vicinity ever again, let alone speak to her, and even then, I have never spoken in shorter sentences in my life than when I have to communicate with her about kid stuff. If the kids want to know why later, they can ask. Otherwise, I want nothing to do with that awful person, and that is completely on her. Cheating, lying, home wrecking fraud was my best friend. So yeah, no, I’m all the way good now. And the fucker she cheated a…

My ex wife sat on our bed to tell me all about how she is leaving me, it’s over, yada yada, WHILE ACTIVELY CHEATING, and proceeded to tell me how awful it was that one of our mutual friends from a long time ago had gotten divorced and “was with a new woman within 6 months!!” Four months later, still before moving toward the divorce she so desperately wanted, she moved from one guy to the next and she is with him still. Women like this are next level fucking AWFUL. The only ones close are those w…

That’s hilarious because I just saw a woman on another sub talking about how justified these ideas of “mental load” and “emotional labor” are because of how awful men are. And all I could think about was how I used to cook, clean, work, take care of the kids, regularly protect and save my ex from her own mental health overloads (her whole life), and then when it came time for her to cheat and leave, how much she needed my help for basic shit. It’s all one big (but good) goddamn lie.

I hoped mine would come to her senses, but the longer I stayed away from her, the more I actually came to my own instead. They aren’t worth the love and time and energy we give.

Dude, their utter helplessness to do the most basic shit is infuriating after they “walk away.” Like, fuck you, go figure it out on your own. But they don’t. Instead they just go get new men who will “save” their sorry asses. Must be an exhausting way to live.

Oh boy, I remember the day many years ago my wife offered to bring a “single mom friend” into our marriage... I was so taken aback by that “offer” (I still question if it even happened!) and I was like, um … NO. Now, to be fair, it did sound hot as hell, BUT I also was mature enough even back then to know just how that situation would have gone. Years later, shocking to find out she’s a cheater who couldn’t communicate or take any accountability for her actions. So many of these people really ar…

Better yet, OP, in your future relationships, don’t let women give you any ultimatum. If they start “pulling back” and expecting you to read their minds, believe them and instead, get ahead of leaving. Because playing mind games as grown-ass adults is bullshit and for the fucking birds.

Cheaters suck. This brand of so-called misogyny wouldn’t even exist if women like the one this commenter is talking about didn’t exist. But they do, and many of us gave our all to many of them. Never again, though, I can promise you that.

I heard once many years ago that someone should never give 100% to any job or they’ll come to expect more of you that you won’t have to give. The idea was to give 75% and then you have room to give more and also won’t burn out as quickly when they treat you as the expendable person you are to the org. That’s what it’s like being married to women like her who cheat and leave. They’ll bounce from dick to dick simply because they can and because they learned long ago to never give 100% to anyone bu…

Very similar situation here. My kids came to my place for my week this week and my oldest immediately went into texting her mom and then telling me about stuff she needs (that I presumably need to buy). I told her that I don’t have the means to do that at the moment (I don’t or I wouldn’t have put it that way) and she immediately went to call and talk to her mom about me. I am pretty hurt. My ex was a cheater and a liar and that’s what fueled the divorce, and now I just get to pay for it over an…

Do not engage. No looking back. Her regrets are her fucking problem. If she didn’t want to damage her children and destroy her family, she would have considered all of that before cheating and being an awful person. Keep being the best dad you can be for your kids and moving forward.

This is it. Social media addictions and therapy speak (read: babble) are things I am finding all these women have in common. What I find particularly entertaining (when it’s not just hurtful) on this side of divorce is that they also think they’re going to find this “ideal” man which is why they monkey branch from one to the next to the next, never realizing how perpetually unsatisfied they are, and never once considering that maybe, just maybe, they are the actual problem in their relationships…

I’m convinced that social media has mentally and emotionally stunted so many women. They’ll never admit it. Of course they won’t. But I have a working theory that cheating, lying, and all this other shitty and antisocial behavior is caused directly in some part by SM addiction.

This thread is actually triggering as hell. It reminds me of the “weaponized incompetence” narrative most women use, almost as frequently as they throw around the word “narcissist” (while unironically cheating, lying, and abusing). I have seen guys weaponize incompetence and it has always pissed me off; but I have also seen women weaponize this “mental load” bullshit and it gets shrugged off… Because she had to use more than a single brain cell to function as a grown-ass adult? God, it’s actuall…

God, there are SO many especially post-divorce and being cheated on… pretty much anything by I Prevail, Scatterbrain, and old school Linkin Park. The Door by Teddy Swims was a lifesaver early on. Sometimes I go back and listen to my earlier divorce playlists (did this today, actually) almost just to hurt and remind myself, and I’ve been finding it strangely healing instead.

That’s a good question. It is worse when I consider how I planned my whole entire life around that person and loved her deeply just for her to betray me in the end. It can also get lonely sometimes, and I chose not to get under someone new in the process as I saw it as an opportunity to get to know myself and grow through it. It has been a financial train wreck. I haven’t been able to keep my footing after going down to a single income and then taking a massive pay cut after losing my job. I als…

My dude, divorce is the only thing that gave me any relief from this kind of bullshit from my lazy-ass ex. Oh, don’t get me wrong, she would pour herself out for everyone else all the time… but her own family? Might as well have not existed. I still have to wash my kids’ dirty laundry when they come to my place. Eventually I realized that this is also why she was able to cheat in the end and force my hand in a divorce I ultimately never wanted. But now I’ll never find myself in a situation where…

You get to the place where never wanting to speak to her again wins out. It doesn’t always hurt less, but the pattern changes to where it hurts less often.

Thanks, bro. This is how I have been living for the past two years, and I guess it’s tough now because it’s a new phase for me, and I have no clue who the new guy is…but then again, I have no clue who my ex-wife is, either, except I know she still keeps her word as well as she did when we were together, so at least that is consistent. 😏 Anyway, I appreciate it, solid advice.

That’s the craziest part about being betrayed. It doesn’t just affect (and end) a relationship. It ends who we all were at the core of our being. Very few people understand this. I can’t even do fucking and cocktails because my ex made me believe I was all kinds of awful in the end, too, so it’s all her words about me, all her actions that followed, and me just working to heal and get to a new baseline of normal and not being completely broken by her anymore. That’s what love gets you, fellas.

I suspect my ex did the same, but I removed myself from SM before she could paint the picture of her poor little abused and traumatized self all over the world before the reveal of her new boy toy (that she decided to go get while we were still married). My kids don’t know what their mother is and probably never will, even though I hate the thought that she gets to spin the narrative whatever way she wants. It doesn’t matter. The difference between us is that I know the truth, and her smear camp…

I don’t / won’t talk to their mom about anything unless it is essential, and even then, I prefer not to. That said, I think you’re right. I pulled each of them aside tonight just to talk about life and it was such a sweet time. Even got the opportunity to leave the door open about the divorce and other partners with my oldest because of their friend who has been through it. I feel like I often get too into my own head and in my own way that I forget how this shit must be a silent killer for them…

I made new friends through my divorce and I told them everything. My only real regret was talking about it and processing at work, but that was my whole life actively falling apart, so it is what it is. The lesson I learned wasn’t so much not to talk to, or in front of, people. The lesson I learned is to never, ever get married again; to never, EVER pour my heart out for a woman who will likely only end up being a cheater in the end; and to know my limits at work by never submitting myself to an…

The other day I wrote in tears that my car was mocking me. I had to put something in the backseat right after I dropped them at their mom’s, and when I arrived home alone, it reminded me to “check the back seats.” It’s as if the ghosts of my ex and kids haunt me every other week even though they’re all alive and well. Fuck cheaters and destructive, self-obsessed women and the never-ending damage they cause.

I have been off all SM (beside Reddit) for over two years now, but it doesn’t stop me from looking at her profile every so often to see if anything has changed. “Pain shopping.” And what’s crazy is I actually stopped for a good long time, just to pick it back up every so often again. I have stopped again now, though. I just have to keep reminding myself every single day that what I see will only hurt me and it really just doesn’t matter anymore. Thanks for the advice. It’s solid, and it’s how I’…

Thank you all. This is just what the doctor ordered, I suppose. I definitely needed some perspective. Last night into this morning, I’m just remembering the truth about that person. Best of luck to the dumbass who has to clean up after her disgusting lifestyle just in time to learn how little she values loyalty and love. Cheaters gonna cheat. Better him than me.

YES. 💯 I have realized over a year into being divorced that I would rather not have it any other way. End of story. And when I get sad (which I still fucking do because I loved that woman and my family with my whole heart), I keep forging my own way forward and remember that what she put me through isn’t worth a single goddamn thing. Not in the end, and not throughout our relationship. She can be someone else’s problem now. Good luck out there to the poor dumbass who didn’t do his due diligence …

Woman lies, no problem, he deserved it, he’s a cheater (is he?), and WORSE … a MAN. Man lies (did he?), gets taken for everything he has, reputation ruined, end of story. Don’t believe me? How about the article recently wherein a woman PSYCHOTHERAPIST describes her ex-husband’s SUICIDE as a “final act of control”? What. The. Actual. Fuck. Be safe out there, my friends. The relationship world looks pretty fucked from where I stand.
