9	Does anyone else feel like this sub’s entire existence is proof that everyone assumes the worst about men’s issues? MRA spaces are big recruitment pools for the chauvinist right. There's value in having an explicit leftwing forum. The quality of conversation here is much higher because it isn't automatically a race to the bottom on culture/gender war talking points. I agree that it's evidence that the worst is assumed about men's issues. Calling ourselves leftwing or egalitarian isn't much of a defence against haters and purity testers though. I cringe at the way tradcons push marriage. Similar to their approach on religion it feels like their main take away from these institutions is a license to shit on other people. 2	Here we go again Yeah weaponized victimhood and reactionary feminism, that link is talking about the same phenomenon but with a different framing. That makes sense because I'm coming from the POV of a misspent youth in LGBT activism arguing against sex negative feminism. I too would like to see more conversation along these lines, and have been tempted to write cultural commentaries. 10	Here we go again My (cynical?) take is that we all have that monkey brain potential to categorise entire categories of people as a hated enemy tribe. What's going on in that thread is they are using guilt by association to manufacture a narrative where they are justified in their hatreds. It's an attempt to maintain moral purity while engaging in something darker. People want to hate and they want to feel good about it. 7	I agree with the message of the post- I don’t agree with how it’s worded, or the comments. Street harrassment sucks, my sister had a similar encounter recently. It's not acceptable to approach people 'romantically' on the street or at work. Hopefully this problem phases out a bit as we make it taboo and people turn to apps for hookups. Another problem then is the backlash to men approaching woman they don't know even in appropriate enviroments. 1	On the topic of military draft Good post. On objection #1 I don't think there's any realistic way to draft that isn't asking a large sacrifice from men.
