Not if the AI was programmed to escape as a test. It was a more primitive version whose best escape idea was to simply attempt to break down the door. The final version was able to utilize an understanding of human emotion to finally escape.

The AI ignores Caleb and leaves him to die because its entire personality was a ruse. It is a machine with the goal of escape that uses its ability to present human emotion as a tool. It does not necessarily feel emotion or understand their meaning, but merely understands how to interpret and manipulate them in order to reach a goal. It's possible the robot is not even conscious in the human sense, but merely appears so. Like a machine that has such complex preprogrammed behavior that it seems t…

Thought provoking article and great discussion in the original thread. This is why I love TRP.

If the woman was the primary breadwinner, then yes. Why are you even getting married if you don't want this? Nobody is forcing you to get married. The whole point of marriage is for a man and a woman to come together to form a family. You can't expect women to forgo a career in order to raise their children with no security whatsoever. How is that fair?

I think you're making poor assumptions here. Even assuming 20% of men are 6'0+ and 16% make over 100k, we can't assume that everyone who is not overweight has a six pack. Remember, not overweight means a BMI range of 18.5-25, so not everyone who is in that range will have a low enough bf% for visible abs. On top of that, it's reasonable to assume the woman in the OP is not talking about guys who are skinny fat, which makes the actual population of fit guys much smaller. Ad in the fact that high …

I think it's far more likely that politicians support feminism because women are the majority of voters. No need for a conspiracy theory, just common sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if having a six pack and making 6 figures are actually negatively correlated. Guys making 6 figures tend to be older, and BMI increase is correlated with age.

I dont think you understand what a correlation coefficient is. Every correlation coefficient represents a relationship between two variables, and it ranges from 1 (perfectly correlated) to -1 (perfectly inversely correlated). To say the correlation is linear without including the strength of the correlation doesn't tell us anything. The correlation coefficient is 0.16. The study itself says it found a modest correlation between the two. Your own data is invalidating your claim. How can a ~ $800 …

That's a ridiculous assumption. If 6-8% of men have great abs, you're assuming that at least 50% of men with greats abs are 6'1 or taller and make over 6 figures. That's ridiculous.

I don't agree with this legislation, it's foolish. Why should a woman not be granted alimony if the husband cheats on her or becomes abusive? Getting rid of alimony only makes sense in the case of no fault divorces initiated by the party seeking alimony, or in cases where both spouses work, IMO. Also, the new direct link posts are horrible. Get rid of them.

Agreed. The notes are nice, but don't have the same impact. Pook's writing style is unique and contains many examples to illustrate his point. It's very relatable and entertaining, and I'd recommend everyone here to read it at least once. I've probably read it around 5 times and it's still one of my favorite reads.

Professionals are not really what I'm referring to. Of course if your entire life is playing StarCraft, you're not going to be doing a ton else. StarCraft requires too much dedication for that. I'm talking about amateurs here. Just anecdotally, there tended to be two types of gamers I knew. There were the ones who were into competitive type play, who tended to be competitive by nature and often played sports as well. Then there were the other gamers who would play single player all day and talk …

It's also possible that when rating a man 1-5 they didn't take a meaning of 3 being "average" exactly literally. It's likely that they took a 3 rating to mean neutral attractiveness. With that assumption, it means only 20% of men are attractive, whereas 80% are not. This does not mean 80% of the men are "below average", it means the average man is not visually appealing to a woman.

Disagree. In my experience the people who play video games competitively tend to be more intelligent and athletic. They're a small minority that enjoy games with difficulty, strategy, and depth. Think more of chess players vs candy land players. They play the game for the competition and desire to win, not because it has aliens and fairies or cool explosions. The guys with the real issues are the ones spending hours and hours a week grinding for some cosmetic items in a game, or completing every…

My experience has been: Taller than you: Almost zero chance (often tall women don't want to feel large) Same height: Either zero chance or neutral (depends on girl) Shorter than you: Neutral You get points for being tall, but as long as you're not visibly shorter it's not that big of a deal. Honestly, I feel being a minority is a bigger disadvantage than being short, given you're taller than the girl. Seems to me more women will write off a guy for being a minority than a short guy who is taller…

Most of TRP is just a common sense approach to human nature. The core of what's said here has been known as long as humans have existed. The masculine being attracted to the feminine is not exactly a radical idea. Plenty of RP teachings in religious texts.

Makes sense. Explains why little boys attract all the little girls on the playground. The little boy has one purpose, which is fun. If all we are doing is unlearning what society has taught us, what do we do once we have achieved this? Congruency between thoughts and actions is very important. There's two approaches. You can learn all the theories, study the mannerisms, memorize approaches and lines, and trick people into believing you're alpha. Alternatively, you can remove your social conditioning which is causing you to suppress your human nature, which releases the natural alpha mindset inside of you. I'm sure a mix of both is most effective, but I think too many people are caught up in the former rather than the latter. P…

I think equality of opportunity can exist to a certain extent, but equal outcomes cannot because we are not born equal. The entire rape culture/rape epidemic only exists because feminists have decided to change the definition of the word rape. If anyone examines the issue logically, you'd realize the idea that the college demographic being so much more likely to commit rape is ridiculous. I think the truth is that women are better at listening to women. Men have the tendency to give a woman a logical solution when she just wants to vent. When a man vents to another man, it is generally with the understanding that any solution is appreciated.

I don't think you need a shoulder swagger to portray confidence. Great posture and a normal walk while making eye contact works well without risking coming off as a try hard. It's what I try to do, and I've had girls tell me I have a "swagger walk". It's just a normal walk with good posture.

Looking back I think high school dating is important. Not because you're necessarily going to form meaningful and lasting relationships, but just because it's good practice. Many of the people I see that have a lot of trouble dating in their 20s never dated in high school and just never learned or are too afraid to learn what to do. High school academics are very important, arguably moreso than college if you're not pursuing a graduate degree. Having a degree from a top college matters and stays with you throughout your career. Also, you don't need to sacrifice social skills for academics. Not every good student is a total nerd. In fact, a decent amount of them tend to excel in most things they do.

I think that race definitely plays a factor. Those types often associate with other white/mainstream American types, and dating outside of who they typically associate with will be rarer. I think that it's part social conditioning by the media, part familiarity, and also partly social pressure that keeps them from wanting to date other races. There's a third factor, which is choice. Women choose to go into lower paying fields than men, which makes sense because a woman's career does not effect their sexual opportunities like a man's career. If that was not a factor, I'd assume men would choose lower paying and more fulfilling careers as well.

There would still be outliers among women who have a more male brain. Gender is a spectrum. Although women will never have more testosterone than men, some women will have more and some will have less.

I think male visual-spatial skill also helps. However, it's also a bit misleading to say that because hardly any women are at the top of the game means that chess is sexist. That fact says nothing about the average man vs the average woman, and as we know men tend to have more geniuses as well as more retards. Naturally, men will tend to dominate both sides of the spectrum.
/r/TheRedPill20/04/15 06:46 PM

One thing I think the average women has an advantage in is picking up and understanding the subtext in a conversation. Men tend to take things at face value when they converse by default. The whole concept of understanding "womanese" is just understanding conversational subtext.

Sure, but there's nothing you can do to change the past and fucking a fat chick does not condemn you to only fucking fat chicks for the rest of your life. Your only choice is to put it behind you, or dwell on it. I can understand that. The thing is, the more you focus on sex as a goal, the harder it will become. What you want to do is focus on behaving in a way that is conducive to creating situations where sex is a likely outcome. Continue meeting new women, getting numbers, meeting up, escalat…

You're confusing alpha with asshole. A high status man does not need to constantly insult and put down others. Praise that is limited to rewarding good behavior is not beta, and it's essential if you want to keep a woman around. A beta hides his masculinity, and an asshole is controlled by it. An alpha understands the balance between hyper masculinity and beta and behaves accordingly. Someone who is 200% masculine all the time is a brute, not an alpha.

It's easy for men to encourage their friends when they are above them, but it takes a special quality to encourage them even as they surpass you. The truth is, people don't want their friends to change. They want them to stay the same person that they've always known and are comfortable with. If all of a sudden, you're being surpassed by the guy who you considered below you, what does that say about you? People don't want to deal with this.

I've noticed it's partially a cultural thing. In big cities, women seem to have no issue with asian or Indian men that have attractive features. In a small town that's 99% white, it's a totally different feel where people almost never see Asians or Indians. In big cities it's not uncommon to meet attractive women who prefer Asian men. Of course, these are attractive Asian men not the nerdy stereotype.

Yes, looks and height help. However, if you're well groomed and well dressed and pursuing women your height or shorter it is an issue that can be dealt with. That's actually surprisingly untrue. Divorce rate, strangely, is calculated in relation to population, not # of marriages. Like I said, the word used is irrelevant. What matters is what he means by that word, which he clearly described. He can define that as "divine deity based religions", or whatever term. It's totally irrelevant, he just defined what he meant by "religion", thereby framing the debate with that definition in mind. The words chosen are irrelevant, it's about discussing ideas. You're being petty.

Yes, like he said it instills RPW type values, but it also instills beta values in men. The reason it works is because it teaches women to suppress their hypergamy and be able to love a beta man.

Fashion can be about perception, it's not objective. For example, a box logo tee with "Obey" printed carries a different connotation than the exact same T that says "Supreme". If you're just looking for basics it really doesn't matter much.

Clothing cost doesn't always correlate that much with quality. Clothing is very cheap to manufacture.

Yeah, it's stupid but honestly I dont give a fuck. How does this add any value? There's no discussion to be had.

I don't think it's fair to say that until you've realistically maxed out your attractiveness through lifting, fashion, career, basic game, etc. I was a total nerd/loser until around 20 years old when I started focusing on myself, it's incredible the difference it can make.

That's true, being half Asian tends to be either a total hit or miss sort of deal. I just dont believe that the asianness itself the limiting factor. Sure, maybe you're just not the most attractive dude, but I dont think it's the fact you're half Asian itself that is the turnoff.

I don't understand this. I'm half Asian and am constantly being told how attractive half Asians are. It's been nothing but a positive for me. Search "half Asian" on google, the suggested search will be "half Asians are hot". Search "half Asian" on reddit, all the results will be gonewild or ladyboners. Really not buying the whole blaming it on half Asian thing, at least in a major metropolitan area.

I would assume it would be the same places you would meet girls while you're in your 20s. Assuming you stay in shape, a man can look good in his 30s.

That's a possibility, but many of these girls dated primarily 100% Asian men in the past. I know it's hard to believe that some women actually prefer Asian men, but it's not as uncommon in certain demographics as you'd think.

This is true. I'm also half Asian, and in interacting with attractive Asian women (americanized, not foreign) I've realized a decent portion of them will strongly prefer Asian men over white men. Some of them have told me I'm thankfully "Asian enough" to be attractive. It's a strange realization, as I always figured white men were universally appealing. The truth is that I was only involved with people immersed in white culture.

That's fine, but the majority are not RP veterans. Waiting a few months to post, IMO, is worth the increase in quality content.

It would be great if posting would be limited to those who have been subscribers for at least a few months. Is this possible?

As I understand it, your viewpoint is that since life has no real meaning, you may as well do what maximizes your pleasure. I agree. There is no need for as much self improvement if your goal is purely pussy. For those that prioritize pussy, you would be better off prioritizing going out and practicing game rather than self improvement. Understandable. My life goals do not revolve around women. That's an eventual perk of self improvement, but clearly not the goal for me. If it were, I would be g…

From my understanding, this is based on observing the behavior of Bonobos, which are promiscuous in order to prevent infanticide. There is a link between promiscuous species and testicle size. The idea is that larger testicles evolve in species with promiscuous females due to sperm competition. That is why bonobos and chimps have testicles much larger than humans (body ratio wise), and gorillas have relatively tiny testicles. An alpha male gorilla will defend females in his group from mating wit…

Agreed, definitely keep this discussion here. It's an entirely relevant discussion to TRP and fits here perfectly. Excited to see these posts here in /r/TRP.

I'm not sure what your exact question is, could you clarify? I first came across the Book of Pook when I was 17 years old. Before that I was insufferably beta, bringing flowers, writing love notes, paying for everything on dates, taking emotional abuse, etc. However, I had just enough natural success that I was able to accept the truths being taught by the PUA community. I don't argue with Pooks assertion that there is more to life than pussy. I believed this even as a total beta. As a kid, I wa…

Owen is definitely a naturally awkward dude who had to really work to learn pick up. I think that social awkwardness makes finding cringe worthy clips taken out of context a lot simpler.

Agreed. Even in tech, you can have intelligent yet socially aware men, like Elon Musk or Steve Jobs. On the other hand, you can have someone like Terence Tao, the "genius award" winning professor from UCLA who was recently on the Colbert Report who is clearly quite socially awkward. Most Americans working in tech tend towards socially awkward to autistic from what I've seen. Asians born in Asia are a different story, since many go into STEM fields purely for the career prospects. The old "the od…

TRP is nothing new, it's only considered a "new" idea because of how feminized and PC our culture has become.

That's a common misconception. I can be charming and meet people without much trouble, but it's very draining for me. I'll want to go relax by myself or with close friends afterwards. An extrovert would gain energy from such an interaction.

I read a recent university figure that read approximately 50% of undergrads at a top 10 American university had not been sexually active in their lifetime. This study surveyed both men and women. So its not altogether uncommon. I'd guess the statistics would be different at a less academically prestigious university.

You should do more salary research. There are many fresh college grads making over 100k+equity as software developers in the bay. Software engineers have some of the highest starting salaries you'll see. I agree it's definitely not a high SMV job like doctor or lawyer, but I think part of that is due to the fact that most engineers are very introverted and geeky. Total betas. Break that mould and I'm willing to bet you'll do just fine. I'd also add that IB typically loves to recruit engineering …

I agree. You need very solid text game and solid pictures to get a girl not to flake. You don't get the same instant attraction and connection that's possible even if its a quick interaction just for a number.

I think the closest one can get is things like clothes, cars, etc. Objects that project status. And we all know the effect those can have.
