You just gotta keep livin, man. LIVIN There’s no rules from here. You can date seriously, or keep it casual. Focus on your career and build your assets or go and travel. Keep losing weight and carve yourself out of granite. Regardless, it’s up to you. Just keep writing the rest of your story. Women were never the problem. The relationships we chose to have with a particular woman was. People change and grow apart. You get to choose to keep growing too. It’s OK to feel anger. It’s OK to feel hurt…

That makes sense. So when you get back put something on the calendar. Book room a few hours away from her. Ask her when you book it if you should do one bed and maybe a pull out. Joke that the pullout is only for if she snores. I just can’t stress this enough just have fun and be present. I believe that two people who are both healing and learning to walk again can help each other through the process. Open communication is the foundation. Things might not work out on the first go. One person mig…

There’s really no rules to this so just have fun. If you both feel like you are nervous about entering a relationship then don’t make it a big deal. I don’t know your physical proximity to her but for the love of god please go see each other or move on. Plan a day to spend time together ASAP. Go to a festival, concert, day trip, it doesn’t matter. Just take the initiative and meet her. If things are going well and you feel like you want to be more physical then let her know. I feel like I want t…

Idk about other people but I thought tinder was mainly for hookups. Hinge was good but most of the attractive people are behind a pay wall. Bumble worked best for me but this maybe different in your area. Online dating was super easy for me. I couldn’t see your profile but here’s a few tips. - women hate selfies. Even if you have to stage your own photos and get a camera stand. Do it. - create opportunities for women to engage you. Not sure about tinder but add prompts or text so they can commen…

Hey brother, I was in a dead bedroom for three years. It’s honestly super easy for you to make excuses all day long about why she isn’t taking your needs into consideration. She’s busy, stressed, hormones, she’s reading spicy novels, or whatever. The truth is she’s not concerned enough about how you feel to motivate her to address the issue. I didn’t make out with my wife for three years. There’s all sorts of things about how women going on and off birth control and influence how they see their …

Hahahha dude. I swear I had never heard or experienced music until she moved out. All the sudden the words have meaning. I find myself emotionally experiencing music for the first time in my life.

I was in a dead bedroom for 3 years. I don’t admit it to anyone unless it’s a serious potential partner. The truth is it’s no one’s business unless you make it so. One thing I will add for additional info. I ended my marriage for a variety of reasons and the dead bedroom was only a byproduct of the marriage. I’ve learned in the early months of dating now that I struggle with ED at the age of 33. So that’s some kind of cruel joke. So all I can do is laugh and try to troubleshoot my issue. I guess…

lol! That was my exact feeling when I first read his book 5 years ago. The lessons of can’t hurt me helped me finish my first 50 mile run but it didn’t prevent me from getting a divorce. So. Here I am.

Glad you found some motivation. Goggins is far from Perfect though so just take it with a grain of salt. He has literally ruined his body because of his mentality. There’s still some great lessons and food for thought in his message. Personally, I would recommend Joe De Sena. I think he’s a little more involved than Goggins. Stay hard though brother.

I was the alcoholic. I don’t count the days anymore but it’s over two years sober. You need to think about self preservation. Draw your line and make it explicitly clear. She needs to choose to be sober for herself. She can’t be sober for you otherwise she will blame you. Sobriety is all about taking accountability for one’s actions. You need to be able to enforce the line you draw and be willing to not only end things but watch her self sabotage in the process. It’s not your job to save her. Sh…

One of my favorite sayings about retirement is “its better to retire to something, than to retire from something” I like this saying because it helps refocus the goal of the situation. A lot people think the goal of retirement is to stop working. Most people find little to no satisfaction with that idea. They either die, become grumpy, or just go back work. People who retire to focus more on their grandkids, volunteer, travel, or start a new hobby often find a new meaning to life. Just in case m…

lol yeah. I couldn’t do 100 pulls or chins when I started. I had to use elastic bands and a stepping block sometimes. I’ve done this workout about 4 times now. I’ve switched between pull ups and chin ups. Just focus on getting your reps in how ever needed and never skip a day. This workout is all about embracing your situation and getting it done no matter what. A significant amount of cheating”modifications” is necessary to make it through week one and two the first time you do this. Just teach…

The Jim Wendler 531 is the best workout I’ve ever done when coming back from an extreme hiatus. I’m not sure what a budget means when most planet fitness are $10 a month or when cement is so damn cheep. The harder issue with this workout will be finding enough weight to move. My philosophy is to just do the damn thing and let the rest follow. Pick one habit at a time to focus on. Your body will eventually be craving healthy eating. Otherwise until that happens just feed the body. When I finally …

Someone made a comment about covert narcissists and deleted it. I just wanted to say thank you. That’s an interesting idea and I could definitely see that being the case.

We will see. There isn’t much income to come after as I just switched careers and I’m ok with giving her half the value of the house. I’m probably still being a pushover but we are meeting with an attorney next week.

I think that’s a fantastic point and something I really need to address with myself before I move into any type of relationship. I’ve always said in my professional life that you get the exact relationships that your tolerate in your life. I know I allowed that dynamic to happen. I think I tried to be a supportive and caring partner while I thought she was dealing with severe depression. It was supposed to be temporary. I tried to treat her like she had a clinical issue. She must have assumed th…

I’m coming to terms with it all now. We aren’t/were not good together. There was so much scar tissue that we couldn’t see a positive reason to stay together. The moment she said she was done trying after she had contributed almost nothing to our healing, income, lifestyle, or any other part of our relationship a switch was flipped in me. That was it for me. I know there’s some tough months ahead but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little excited. We shall see how it all plays out in the ne…

I’m still super new to this as we only just decided to get a divorce in the last month after being together 18 years married for 9. I’ve known this would happen for years but I didn’t have the balls to stand up for myself. I know I will lose my house, my savings, and my dogs. That all fucking sucks but I played my part in this situation. I got sober 2 years ago and I’ve learned a lot in that time. I felt so much guilt in my marriage because of my alcohol issues. That’s the main reason why I thin…
