pretty sure i wasn't giving medical advice. But, you know, if you're going to be provide assessments of posts, you should at least be thorough and non-judgemental with your criticisms. ;-)

Chillax, Smexxy, I didn't say it was zero-risk. Yes, I could have gone further and said "talk to your partner, find out if they've been shedding/outbreaking recently, and avoid those times" but shit, if the partner has been living with it, THEY ALREADY KNOW THAT PART -- but if they're not communicating when they're at high risk, avoid them! Also, yes, women can also pass viruses without having any symptoms. But female-to-male infectivity is estimated at less than 5 percent of the rates of male-t…

condom up and fuck her blue. It's really not all that much of a risk, and if you're wrapped up you're probably not going to have any issues. There's a girl i've been sexting back and forth for a few months and shit is about to get real pretty soon, and she's also down with HSV. But girl is smokin and open for anything, so... i'm gonna hit it and enjoy it.

Since it's hypothetical, you might as well walk away, since you don't know her side of the story, and how while he was "faithful" he was emotionally distant, or manipulative, or wouldn't communicate his needs when asked, or any number of other hypothetical real-life issues. Judging one side of a couple based only on one side of a story only shows that you care more about choosing a "winning" side so that you can feel justified in your reaction, as opposed to taking an active part in analysing yo…

If you choose to avoid a person because of their behavior, then you are acting rationally and constructively. If you choose to insert your values into their relationship regardless of the outcome, you are acting immorally and destructively. Oh, dang, you nailed it! My pizza box overflows with crusty tissues from wiping away the tears of my joyous life. At least the pizza was good. My relationships are what they are, for each of the people involved. Nobody else outside of our relationships know or understand what goes on behind closed doors, nor should they. everybody's relationship is built on trust. And communication. When either or both break down, a relationship can falter. Sadly, your insistence that circumstantial evidence mea…

You've set up a straw man, and you've knocked it down yourself. Good job! You, absolutely, have ZERO RIGHT to judge anybody. You may think you have a "moral imperative" but all you are doing is promoting your own ignorance and inability to separate your life from anybody else's.

No. You have completely missed the point, and you've reiterated exactly why you don't understand the point. "OP implied". Because he doesn't know. Not even the "friend" knows for certain what is going on (otherwise the discussion would be completely different) Do people cheat? Yes. Do you have a responsibility to judge them? No. If somebody cheats on you (for whatever value of "cheating" you and your partner have agreed to). THEN you can judge your situation. But just yours.

I hope you're imaging lots of loving friends and family, and respecting partners, because that's what I've got.

So, because the friend doesn't know if the guy knows, and makes the assumption that he doesn't, and goes on to tell somebody else, and you read it.... So you know? For certain? Because unless you personally know them, how would you know? And yes, "don't-ask, don't-tell" is a thing. People get off on it. You're not a white-Knight, you're reacting to a fourth-party's retelling of a story, and judging something you can't begin to understand. You want to know what to do when you find yourself in tha…

Right. That's why I'm not making any judgements. What they do is their business, and anybody else that isn't involved directly with them has no business in their relationship.

You don't know that. You only know that the friend expects that. You have no direct knowledge of the couple's lifestyle arrangements. Making judgement calls based on third-party indirect information only hurts.

What's wrong with non-monogamy? You don't own another person, they're with you because you provide something they want in their life, and presumably the opposite is true. Grow up, stop acting like you deserve the constant and unwavering commitment of monogamy, and ask your partner what they want. Some people like non-consensual non-monogamy, some don't. Your only job is to move along if you don't like what they are offering, not judge them because they don't fit into your narrow-minded world-vie…

So she may be looking for some stress relief, and the crazy ex is available but not her first choice. But you didn't act on her signals, so she went with what she knew was available. There's nothing wrong with a single-mom FWB, and in fact, can be a lot of fun. You just need to be up front and honest that you're not looking for anything serious. Don't bring up the kid thing, unless it's specific to your plans. Have fun, keep it casual. Don't be afraid to say "no thanks" if it gets past your comf…
