It’s weird because you’re aware of what you’re doing. I’m not saying being ignorant of your actions is an excuse, but the fact that you call it a game means you already know it’s not exactly normal. If I had to guess I’d say a therapist would be able to untangle why this is going on. My advice would be to stop objectifying people and get back into the swing of having normal relationships with all people. Also talk openly with a therapist about this. If you’re constantly playing a game of “how fa…

Pull a Forrest Gump and run across the country, slowly consider all options and their impact, get a small cult following, rub mud off your face and invent the smiley face emoji, stop in the desert to turn around and tell your small cult following you’re going home, run back home and return to your wife with the understanding that differences of opinion don’t have to be a point of contention but can be treated as a topic of conversation. I live everyday wishing I would’ve done that myself. Have a…

This is called a pre exit divorce. Same situation here. If you guys have kids I’d say yes, but if you don’t have kids get the fuck away from that person. I consider my ex wife a friend, not a close friend, but a friend and a great coparent. If we didn’t have to coparent I can’t imagine we’d have any sort of friendship. If I hypothetically take my child out of the picture the early exit is passive gaslighting followed by pulling the rug out on what’s supposed to be the relationship you imagined w…

Everyone’s different, but it’s been experience that you can still love her and move on. It fuckin sucks though dude. Keep your head up though. Life’s a beautiful thing to miss.

If you’re letting her stalk you then you clearly enjoy it on some level. That’s probably worth exploring. You’ll feel better dude.

We both walked away owing nothing to each other and 50/50 custody while never needing to see a judge in person. I’ve come to understand my situation is one of the most uncommon ways a divorce plays out, and I’ll be honest it’s still confusing to me. We both work, we’re both great parents, and our kids are only ever gonna see us get along. If that’s an option for anyone I would assume they’d shut up and do what’s best, but fully grown adults end up acting like children while their children watch …

I have a feeling I’ve had the exact opposite experience as you. I’m sorry dude. That sucks. You’d think the adults could be adults during the most pivotal moment in their kids lives. I think strong parents swallow their pride and do what’s best for their kid. Make it smooth for the kids.

It’s a process, but this is the exact answer to the question posed.

Learn to enjoy your new freedom. Your ex wife’s move is just another clear indication you all made the right decision. Time eventually heals everything.

I’ve been on the fence about that for 5 years now. Still not 100% sure in either direction. Everyone’s happier now, but my thought is that my ex didn’t try to fix things. Lol just typing that makes me realize I don’t regret it. Just to be clear. There’s always going to be a level of regret simply for going through that horrible process. My point is that I’ve moved past that, we all get along wonderfully, and it’s been the most beneficial thing for our child.

I’ve worked with two therapists, and that’s why I’m able to go to Christmas and move on as best as I’m currently able. Last time I was with a therapist was the middle of last year. We were working on moving forward and weighing the pros of moving forward alone with an understanding my ex wife will always be my ex wife. I know I’m never going to get back what was there. Thank you for your comment. I need to get back with my therapist and focus back into what the hang up is, or maybe just focus on…
