That thing with that is that it makes these trades cheaper. If welding becomes automated people still have to sell the stuff being welded. If it becomes cheaper to weld it becomes cheaper to sell and produce welded stuff. More can be welded, faster, cheaper, and more efficiently. So instead of being the person welding you could just buy a much of these machines and sell what the robots are producing. It takes up a few welding jobs but it's not impossible to be a tradesman.
