(you don’t seriously fucking believe men are just as likely to be raped by women as women are to be raped by men right) One issue is that feminists have expanded the definition of rape, but maybe they were right to do so. And now some, not all, feminists are willing to expand a desire to protect female rape victims to a desire to protect males as well. It is reasonable to be skeptical that women can regularly rape men, and that most rapes of men are perpetrated by women as long as you define rap…

I was going to ask "How does one measure or qualify the 'most popular feminist on Threads," but then I wondered if I want to know?

If spouting hatred without pushback was their goal, broadly, then why complain about mainstream subs banning them? Why go to mainstream subs, where pushback would be stronger?

One thing to consider is that a lot of medical testing goes on in the military and in prison under orders to submit or in exchange for lighter sentences for the men locked up there. Men are much more likely to be hurt or over punished by the prison system, so that may be playing a role. Men are also more likely to need economic help in exchange for temporarily signing away their rights by joining the military. Men also have a seemingly harder time when homeless or poor and also represent a large…

I mean, in theory, both could be true at the same time. Ever hear of arms races? Maybe "bad men" do give off "red flags" but then their greater experience with getting caught with them drives them to get better and hiding their "dirt." So women compare notes on who turned on them and construct new, more stringent lists, which "bad men" then figure out and so on.

Fetch is a female coded slang term, short for "fetching", and archaic word for attractive. It originated in the circa 2000 teen movie Mean Girls. It is not specifically "feminist" just stereotypically female. At least, that's how I was familiar with it.

Isn't The Guardian a British magazine? British feminism has a decidedly different flavor than American feminism.More transphobic and denialist about domestic violence against men, more gender-essentialist. It's not universal in the UK and American feminism isn't perfect either, but there is a difference across the pond.

I don't know if this will work for you, but I found it easier to access those feelings and their natural expression while watching sad movies. I wasn't really looking to cry specifically, but I was already looking to stop myself from stopping myself, if that makes any sense. I think I started being able to cry at movies well before being able to cry at my own life. The first time I can remember that breakthrough (though I vaguely recall not the first time it happened) was watching the Cohen brot…

What are you talking about? I think most US colleges provide free screening to men, women and non-binary students. Are you outside the US? Is it different there?

Was this done in the UK? They seemed to use that "it's not rape unless you were penetrated" definition, but didn't seem to be trying to dismiss men being victimized that way. In the past when I've seen people communicating that way it was because they were trying to use terminology that would be legally correct in their home country. If that's the case though, I was surprised that 25% of men who were raped through penetration reported female attackers. I know pegging has been getting more popula…

Children and adults who sexually harass and assault your kid will keep your kid from being a kid. Children and adults who accuse your kid of sexual assault will keep your kid from being a kid. Children and adults who sexually harass and assault your kid and then accuse them of sexual assault will keep your kid from being a kid. A body cam could solve these issues. I wish I had one when I was in high school.

Thank you for getting "emotionally naked" and sharing your experience here. While your perspective is disturbing it may be eye opening even as it is upsetting. It also reminds me of the discourse about false accusations of rape. Feminists often frame the issue by using the sad fact that very large numbers of women are sexually assaulted and most of them do not disclose it for various reasons, fear of not being believed, fear retaliation by the accused, even fear of over punishment by society of …

I don't think so. Maybe this is just a joke, but I have seen both conservatives and man hating TERFs use the talking point that trans people's gender identification is invalid because they claim that it is simply due to "trans" people not acknowledging the flexibility of gender. This is particularly ironic to me as conservatives generally are quite mean to people who have interests and behaviors at odds with their assigned at birth sex, and due to their man hating TERFs are unlikely to truly wel…

In the literal, open, surface reading of their statement? Their claim that the Internet is full of randos who might give wrong, harmful advice? I guess that's true. But it's also true that it's full of people like yourself who may have experienced something similar, people whose well meaning advice may still be harmful or wrong, but are part of a growing critical mass of thought and feeling, and some of those people will have the right idea. I remember when the gay rights movement was coming up,…

Men can't have abortion, the morning after pill ect. Also men often face abuse in relationships and have a choice between "dipping" and dying.

Some people who might be at least partially sympathetic may also believe/hope that if male birth control options improve enough the issue might become irrelevant without them needing to take an uncomfortable public stand. They may even be right, not that it's not also a convenient excuse. Supposedly research on a male birth control pill has resumed last I heard.

He might be. I know he definitely behaved in a manner that could be perceived as physically threatening and often was verbally or emotionally abusive to Heard, he was also known to be randomly physically violent with other men, but I'm not aware of any conclusive evidence of him using force against Heard. There may be evidence I'm not aware of though. I don't know exactly what to believe. Depp may have been an abuser or just what Heard's apologists try to frame her as: an imperfect victim. I oft…

Yup, underated comment. I'm old enough to remember when my (USA) culture was much more homophobic, and unapologetically so. I remember in the late 90s reading a study that showed that psychological problems in teens was correlated with your peers thinking you were gay, not with being gay. For me it was the smoking gun that homophobic norms were a problem for everybody and that gay people could be psychologically healthy if the culture would just stop bullying them.

In fairness there kind of is, but those trends when done by men have a stronger "guilt by association" stigma around them because they are usually associated with "manosphere" content, including PUA, incels, red-pill, ect. The tests themselves are sometimes suspect of being faked too, not that the fem-affirming on Tik-Tok are all real. I feel like the male version did exist and generate lots of outrage from men and boys, and outrage from feminists at men's outrage, but that phenomenon was more o…

So it sounds like your friend's GF had your friend raped by proxy, paying her friend to drug and rape him and take pictures and send them to him, supposedly as a kind of "test." This sounds less like a "loyalty test" some women do, which I view as suspect but maybe defensible, and more like a sexual blackmail scheme using sexual assault to get the blackmail "evidence," all while using the trope of "friends helping friends test their SOs" as cover. I am feeling confused and grossed out and angry …

The way a 7+/10 woman actively dates is on a total delusion of grandiosity with usually the sluttiest men in the entire city. Lol, I love how you used the phrase "sluttiest men." I often think of men as slutty, but angry feminists and proud patriarchs both usually say "it's different for men," which it is kinda, but when men make trouble for themselves and those that care about them by thinking with their junk, I think "slutty" may be a valid evaluation.

It may matter where one draws the line for "hatred" and "ignorance." I also got the impression that our doodler in question might be more ignorant and dealing with trauma of her own than heartless and cruel. But I saw your comment above with down votes, and I wondered if people in this community are judging her not as they would wish to be judged, but as they actually are judged themselves everyday. That is to say when men talk about their reality they are often mocked and told they are liars or…

I would agree about the current status quo, but things may be changing for men and things changed drastically for women in the past due to feminism. I think it might not be a coincidence though that feminism started to rewrite the rules for relationships right about when even straight women decided they would risk "being called gay" and "never finding a man." If the prospects under current terms and conditions are lousy enough they might realize they're better off alone. I don't think men have i…

I have often thought this. In Cognitive Behavioral Psychology the link between thoughts, actions and emotions is emphasized and I think men's agony when they feel grief or fear motivates them to "reframe" situations in ways that often distort or over emphasize combativeness, exploitation and Ill will. Men's fear of grief might be more tragic still because grief might be the emotion most tied to gaining wisdom and finding new directions in life.

I have a fascination with Stoicism. The modern usage of the word has indeed migrated to meaning tight control or even suppression of emotions - when not referring to the actual ancient philosophy. Although the ancient philosophy also was centered on controlling one's emotions. Stoicism was generally marketed in its day like a cross between self-help and therapy. The promise was that you could stop getting in your own way by flipping out and letting your emotions take control. "Just bottle everyt…

Social media is incentivised to use the specific emotion of anger to motivate engagement. CGP Grey has a really great YouTube video about it. This Video Will Make You Angry. He's more libertarian than I am these days, so it might be easier for him to not freak over republican opinions being expressed, but I truly value freedom of speech, and it seems he generally does too, while many others closer to me on other issues often fail to see the value in it.

I think OP meant it in the "spreading misogyny" sense, not the original "can't get laid" sense. There has been some migration of the word's meaning lately.

Then why are you here? Reddit probably pushed this post into your feed to drive engagement, like for weeks Reddit was trying to suggest to me BOTH "natalist" and "anti-natalist" subreddits and judging from the angry and mystified posts on both forums I wasn't the only one. Anger drives engagement. CGP's "This Video Will Make You Angry"

You are going to have to focus on yourself for awhile. You are used to focusing on her, worrying for her, worrying about her. You need to be job one now and that will feel unnatural for awhile. You don't have to do lifts, or do it to sculpt your body, but I beg you not to give up exercising. It helps our sleep cycle, and sleep undergirds all our other health cycles. Can you go hiking or running in nature? 🏃🌲🌳☀️ I hope you can get your family to accept that it wasn't your words that hurt them.

I believe you. I know guys like that too. It's usually their personality. Unless they are ready to "work on their people skills" most guys that height seem to struggle. The question you should ask yourself is: "Do I know a lot of guys that height who have plenty of success with women?" You could ask this guy you know for pointers, but you might find that any advice he gave you might be more effort than it's worth to you.

They might just be reacting that way to take out their own frustrations, they might be trolls looking for a crack in her armor, without knowing this creator I can't say she did or didn't provoke them, and finally she might have cherry picked or even manufactured those comments for drama and engagement. It's actually usually much easier as any kind of human being, man, woman or otherwise, to see foolishness and inconsistency from the outside than the inside. One thing about dating though, people get overeager and project what they want to see, even as their partner also puts on a show "trying to put their best foot forward."

Except, it looks like a lot of states I think of as "red" have "high" sharing of custody (defined there as 50%), Alaska, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, while several states I tend to think of as liberal bastions like California and Oregon have poor showings here. Although ... several east coast states are presumably blue and equitable, and the deep south seems both "red" and unequal.
