What can I practically do about family court risk?I sure hope so, but I am skeptical. Couldn't find any cases when searching. | /r/MensRights | 31/08/23 09:39 PM
What makes divorced men re-marry?Thanks for sharing your story. Happy for you and wish you the best. | /r/MensRights | 30/08/23 09:00 PM
What can I practically do about family court risk? Thanks! I think that my main concern is that the judge has essentially unlimited discretion in the calculation, and may just decide to override any legal principle if the judge feels so. This is actually a big issue with the courts. the defendant is like a fish in a barrel and the judge has complete and absolute power, so trying to out-maneuver the desired goal (wealth transfer to the lower-earning party) seems futile. | /r/MensRights | 30/08/23 08:58 PM
What makes divorced men re-marry?I see your point, but people learn to avoid touching hot objects pretty quickly even before learning to speak... Not to mention that he went full blown and had seven children. That could not have been a mistake. | /r/MensRights | 30/08/23 08:55 PM
What makes divorced men re-marry?How difficult was your first divorce, if I may ask? The reactions I see from some divorced people are similar to survivors of military violence - the landscape now feels unsafe to them, even if there are friendly people in it. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 08:42 PM

Dating isn't worth itCompare dating to job search (in the typical employer's market) - the job seeker has little power (except the top 5%), need to go out of their way just to get an interview and will have to go through multiple interviews just to be ghosted at the end. This is dating for men, and for the same reasons (supply and demand, who needs the other side more acutely). If you were a women you wouldn't give a second thought to this date - you would just continue to the next one. The only reason you are think… | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 08:32 PM
What can I practically do about family court risk?"divorce court isn't always logical" I think that this is a big part of the problem. The wide discretion given to judges circumvent any legislative effort, and reinforces the idea that family court is just a facade for achieving a predefined outcome (essentially mothers and children supported to an arbitrary life style by the father). It's hard to fight against an agency that has such power. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 03:04 PM
What can I practically do about family court risk?Is there a concrete effort to change that? Women managed to do so spectacularly and within a short time. Sometimes I think that men's competitiveness creates a "crab bucket" mentality that allows this to happen. When we all aim for the top, stepping down on our competitors makes sense because we think that we will never be in the loser position. If we stop aiming for the top and instead plan for a life in the middle of the ladder, safety of the losers becomes valuable. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 02:52 PM
What makes divorced men re-marry?"stick and stones may break my bones but words could never hurt me", as the saying goes. Yes, contempt from other men may cost you some social and business opportunities, but won't get you in jail/indentured servitude like marriage and divorce could. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 02:49 PM
What makes divorced men re-marry?Psychological traits do seem to explain it, though I was hoping that there is a more rational explanation. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 02:47 PM
What makes divorced men re-marry?The question is not why do they partner with another person - that makes total sense since their problem was with that specific prior partner. The question is why do they choose to bind themselves again to the same hostile and unnecessary arrangement - nothing requires a couple to be married. Even things like health insurance, which is a benefit of marriage, are mostly a matter of spending (you can buy the insurance privately for money). So why go through the same ordeal again? | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 02:45 PM
Dating isn't worth itHer leaving might have been due to fear: going to someone else's home alone feels risky - imagine yourself going to a much stronger person's home alone. Still nothing against you - that's her own thoughts, and could have nothing to do with what you did. I actually think that your conclusion is a healthy one - once you don't care so much for dating you won't put as much effort into it, so failures won't matter. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 12:24 PM
What can I practically do about family court risk?Unfortunately, your advice about kids seems the only logical conclusion. My state does not have permanent alimony, though they can always screw you in other ways. Honestly the only actionable advice I have heard so far was to open a trust. Another advice I can come up with is to make sure that the spouse makes as much money as me since in the absence of children the calculation typically depend on the income level. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 12:01 PM
What can I practically do about family court risk? And if he does, it seems that no one will care about it. I think that the biggest win of the current system is to convince the public that the non-custodial parent (mostly fathers) as deserving no right or relief. That's the root of the problem that allows this treatment. | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 11:56 AM
What can I practically do about family court risk? There are still guilty-until-proven-innocent-and-even-then-ostracized and forced marriage via common-law marriage risks. The public seems to happily forgo constitutional rights in family law matters. So what can we do beside complaining about it? | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 11:51 AM
What can I practically do about family court risk? The prospects of becoming an ATM is indeed one of the deterrents of becoming a parent. Were you aware of these risks before having children? If so, what made you still have them, if I may ask? | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 04:22 AM
What can I practically do about family court risk? Thanks for the actionable advice. Does it stand in trial? Won't the judge just count it as part of the assets? | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 04:19 AM
What can I practically do about family court risk?No kids, no plans for ones (with active measures to prevent this). Familiar with divorce laws, but the answer is typically "depends on judge". | /r/MensRights | 27/08/23 04:18 AM
