This is heartbreaking. He’s so obviously trying to squeeze everything he can out of her before she finally wises up and divorces him (and saving up a bit of a nest egg for when she does).

I’m not trying to defend her specific choice, just contextualizing why someone would choose not to go through a donor bank. Also, not wanting to pay tens of thousands of dollars cash as a one-time expense up-front (generally during the lowest-earning years of your life) is not really determinative of one’s ability to afford a child. But yes, I do concede that someone asking for donors through tinder most likely does not have their shit together.

Isn’t there a huge demand for quality sperm right now? Plus figuring in the costs of the sperm + possible multiple rounds of IVF it can get super expensive.

This is a major driver for women completing higher education at higher and higher rates. Not having a college degree is simply a larger barrier for women to overcome when it comes to lifetime compensation.

It’s just another attempt to keep women in their place. Women can be financially disadvantaged and treated poorly by men, but also street-wise and resilient. Or a woman can be financially comfortable and treated well by men, but then she becomes naive, weak, and deserves to be victimized.

I guarantee he makes slightly more money than her and felt like he was getting the better end of the deal by splitting finances down the middle. But now that he knows his gf is sitting on more money than him, his ego has taken a hit and he feels uncomfortable with the idea that he isn’t the most financially advantaged one. And he also knows that this is morally indefensible so he throws in a line about feeling like she has “a foot out the door” despite his lack of saving being more indicative th…

That’s just what men say to manipulate women into having sex with them during times when it would normally be off the table. Men will also tell you that sex to them means nothing beyond physical satisfaction and that’s why it’s different when they cheat or sleep around. I’m not saying that’s actually how they feel either, but basically don’t expect scrotes to have any sort of logical consistency or actual feelings to back up what they say. It’s just whatever serves them in the moment.

I don’t care about John Mulaney but I’ve only ever heard bad things about Olivia Munn. Plus there’s something really gross about getting into a relationship with someone at a vulnerable time in their life.

Yeah and when women do make fun of incels it’s because of their propensity for vile behavior and thoughts, not the literal fact that they haven’t had sex.

Men commit to a time, not a person. They’ve been together long enough that it’s appropriate that they discuss what they want to achieve before marriage and an ideal timeline. If after discussing his goals she finds that he isn’t actively working on them, it’s time to move on. If he keeps moving goalposts then it’s time to move on.

Sadly, it usually starts with the mothers coddling their sons and letting them walk all over them. I did volunteer childcare for a short while and we received training on “respecting cultural differences” which was basically just telling us to expect young boys from certain cultures to be little shits. These were 5 year olds who had already been taught that women are subservient to them.

Who’s “We?” We know that men as a whole are selfish and want everything all of the time, so why is it surprising that men complain about not being desired enough too? Watch scrotes use this as proof that men don’t get enough affection and try to shame women into being more sexually forward. Never mind that men are not conditioned into being truly desirable by women. They are conditioned into acquiring women by traits and behaviors that are attractive to other men. Also the fact that a lot of men…

All else aside, there’s something very sinister about trying to equate phone data to thoughts that exist in your brain. The only way you can believe that women are loved for simply existing is if you don’t value or acknowledge labor performed by women. No one gives a shit these days if you’re divorced, especially if no kids are involved and that goes double for men. So there’s probably a deeper reason why he kept it hidden. And the only way to salvage this would be to be totally honest and let her decide for herself if she wants to continue a relationship, but if he hasn’t figured that simple fix out yet then he’s probably looking for advice on how to be even more dishonest and manipulate his way back to being with her. That’s true. Unfortunately, in these refugee situations the women and children have much less freedom of movement than the men, and it is easier to get the men out in hopes that they can establish a life somewhere and bring their wives and children over later. The downside is that these women usually become massive targets once it becomes known there is no longer a man at home.

Basically. There’s an entire movement among men who dedicate their existence to making as much money as possible for a decade or two so they can retire early and pinch pennies for the rest of their lives. Which in itself is fine but just don’t have kids or a spouse that you expect to keep working until old age. Oof, I can relate because I always did the same thing. The pattern always went like 1. Get to know them through work/ school 2. Sleep together 3. Well, the truth is that women do attempt suicide and self-harm more often. We’re far more likely to internalize our emotions and blame ourselves for negativity in our lives, which leads to higher rates of depression and low self-esteem. But because women are simply less prone to extreme violence than men, whether it’s to themselves or others, they choose methods that are less effective (ie overdosing instead of shooting themselves).

Saddest part is that a lot of women at my work end up asking me a million questions about my husband as a sort of “get to know you” conversation instead of asking about my hobbies or whatever. Men’s value absolutely plummets in old age. They’re usually well passed their prime earning years, it’s the first time they experience a loss in authority and respect, and they often fail to cultivate the social and family ties that give satisfaction in your later years. Acquiring a younger partner makes them feel like they can rewind the clock for some reason. So yeah, just the general shortsightedness of patriarchy that so often causes men to shoot themselves in the foot.

Men are willing to ruin their lives and everyone else’s just because they’re so afraid of feeling old. The more of life I experience, the more I realize how mentally frail men are on the whole. Men aren’t too stupid to manage money, they’re just terminally selfish and ego driven. Do not trust them with any amount of money that you aren’t willing to lose. OP revealed the truth in the comments- she thinks she’s getting too old to have kids and she’s afraid that he’ll leave her if they wait a couple more years to get married. From what I saw, she keeps avoiding the question of how long they’ve been together, and instead just talks about how they met in the military a decade ago. What really worried me is that she said these are coworkers saying this stuff, not friends and family like that makes it better... but it’s worse! It’s bs the majority of the time. Men rarely form attachments or even pay attention to women they aren’t attracted to. They only say this kind of stuff to deflect blame and prime you for whatever fucked up stuff they just know they’re gonna do eventually. We take it as vulnerability and a genuine admittance to their faults (that we also assume they’re willing to work on, because as women we’re socially conditioned to evaluate our behavior). She did the new gf a huge favor. Child support for 3 kids is probably a nice chunk of money and she has a right to know about this financial burden that he otherwise would’ve kept hidden from her. Hopefully when she grows up she’ll learn whatever relationship advice her dad tries to gives her is bullshit. The whole “older man = money” stereotype is just a way to hand wave age gap relationships as being mutually beneficial. Most of these guys are nothing special and date much younger because they enjoy being with someone whose brain hasn’t finished developing. When I was being abused by my much older ex-husband, it was difficult getting help because of the assumption that I was benefitting financially from the relationship despite the reality of him financially abusing me as well.

Most men have at least somewhat of a Madonna/whore complex because that’s how they’ve been conditioned to see women. Men like when women make the first move because it’s easy, but easy women are obviously not held in high regard. I do think approaching men can have therapeutic value for women but it is not a good strategy for finding a happy and balanced relationship.

It makes perfect sense once you get rid of that pesky concept of enthusiastic consent.

And even then, don’t entertain the idea that he’ll appreciate it. Leveling up a man is FOR YOUR BENEFIT, not his.

“Man feels the need to assert dominance and put down partner lest anyone think she’s merely on his level, let alone too good for him.” What else is new?

So they aren’t sleeping together and they aren’t going on dates. Normal people would just call these friends. He’s literally just dating her because he knows he would get dropped so fast if they were just friends. Be wary of men who play the pity card too fast. It is an easy way for men to feign intimacy without contributing anything. If a man is actually into you he’s most likely going to be focusing on impressing you, not making you feel bad for him.

I think they were saying she doesn’t want her son to emulate her in the future by putting up with disrespectful behavior like she is.

Can you elaborate? I can’t remember hearing bad things about him. Simply being unattractive does not make one a scrote.

The article itself is ridiculous. There’s nothing impressive about dating many ppl in Japan and not having them find out about each other. It would be very easy to do considering the amount of privacy expected in relationships in Japan, and how easy is to make excuses due to work.

My “ex” who assaulted and abused me at 19 when he was 37 is a househusband now so I guess it works for some people. 🤮

It’s so stupid because I don’t know any woman sleeping around much by her mid to late 20s. Most of them end up in long term relationships unless they’re still getting the run-around by noncommital men.

Most men understand that they will most likely die before their wives and need someone to take care of them in their old age. They’re desperate to procure their very own personal nurse, free of charge, once they feel their value start to plummet.

No one got bored of vanilla sex. It’s just a consequence of the porn industry constantly having to up the ante to hold consumers’ interest, leading to the normalization of violent or degrading sex.

Please tell me why so many men get hung up on their exes after the fact? Literally almost every guy I’ve known can wax poetic about whatever girl they dated for 3 weeks when they were 15. OR they insist that they will never treat a woman right because of something stupid like their middle school gf broke up with them the day after their birthday. Meanwhile most of the women I know were cheated on or sexually abused during these years and are able to move on.

Because society tells women the more we sacrifice and work for a man, the more he will love us. Good and bad women just are, but men only become good through transformation by a good woman. Of course that isn’t true. Most men are going to forever treat you the way you let them from the beginning. You can ask for nothing for years and a man will still flip his shit once you dare expect something back from him. It’s so obvious but a lot of us learn this fact too late.

What’s with all these guys with “female best friends?” I see these posts on relationship subs all the time. Funny how it’s rare for a woman to have a “male best friend,” unless he’s gay or otherwise obviously physically incompatible with her. When will girls realize that these “female best friends” are just women who realized men treat you like shit once they get you, and keeping these orbiters around gives you all the perks of a boyfriend and none of the drama.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
