In a professional setting, men **Never** open with "I'm a husband and father,"....many men in professional life don't even wear wedding rings. Suddenly a light went off, men don't define themselves through others because they themselves are the ~definERS~. Women are the ~definEEs~, defined by the the men and/or the uterus.

So many women relegate themselves to the definee role, and it's frustrating to be surrounded by them!

It takes courage to face the world as an unowned human, fully capable in her own right with no one and no MRS title to hide behind.

The more women who stand up and loudly proclaim themselves as the definee, it makes the women who have chosen or didn't have the option of hiding behind a wedding ring, stand out even more.

People continue to think of undefined women as 'other' and put into the 'damaged' stack. The cherry on top of this shit cake is that I think the women who do it, subconsciously realize it and are trying to make themselves seen as qualified and 'one of the good ones.'
