Girls like the challenge. If a pretty girl never hears a guy tell them they’re pretty, they ask themselves, ‘why doesn’t he tell me I’m pretty like everyone else?’ If you’re going to hunt deer but once you step into the woods and a deer walks towards you and shoots himself in the head and lays down in front of you, how fun was hunting that deer?

Hm might indeed keep that mystery little longer and keep ‘showing’ my interest. Might blurt out one at some point after a few dates when it feels natural. But still then I’m limiting it to just one probably.

Yeah to this point I didn’t really feel the need to tell her she looks beautiful since I feel like ‘showing’ that I like her by physical escalation, body language and the fact that I asked her on a date was to me enough to show I like her (and of course kissing her). But since I know now that we both are interested in each other, I’m wondering when that point of “oh I’ve heard a hundred guys say this” is passed. I see plenty of girls in relationships glow up when their guy tells them they’re loo…

Yeah I feel like whenever I see guys give a girl a compliment and that’s the main topic of that sentence, it just feels awkward because the girl can’t do anything other than say ‘oh haha thanks’ and wait for the conversation to move on. Now that I think back when she showed me a video of her dancing, I could have said: ‘wow, she’s cute AND a good dancer… how long have you been doing this for it looks damn difficult’

The dancing compliment was indeed after she told me she likes to practice dancing in her free time and I asked if she could show me sometime. I could agree with your second point, however I personally had a family party once where I dressed up really fancy in a suit, which I rarely do, and got complimented a few times that I looked handsome. Maybe it’s different because as a guy we don’t get complimented as often as girls, but I feel like if I was walking around in dirty clothes and my hair was …

Thanks man, great explanation. I feel like girls can subconsciously sense when a guy gives a generic 'you're cute' compliment that it's with a certain goal in mind. Especially when you barely know them it feels unnecessary and you're putting them on a pedestal. With my situation, at this point I really have no 'goal' in mind by telling her she looks beautiful, I'm dating this gorgeous girl right now and if I think she looks pretty when I see her all dressed up then I mean it. I also think quanti…

Yeah it came to my attention when I was watching that show ‘too hot to handle’ on Netflix. It’s a bunch of horny people in a villa who lose money if they get physical or intimate. But what came to my attention is that they compliment on looks so many times. Things like ‘you’re looking absolutely gorgeous today’ multiple times. But it clearly works for them since you can clearly see the sexual chemistry. It’s still a show so not everything will be completely real, but I’m wondering what makes thi…

How flirty was your conversation? I feel like if you're having the same formal conversation that you would have with your distant relative who you see on a family party once every few years that it lacks any flirtation. I'd say tease her here and there about stuff and indeed slowly start physical escalation. I feel like in clubs it's way easier to escalate since you HAVE to get close to be able to talk with her. You have to talk into her ear in order to hear each other so you'll be standing inch…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
