From filing to getting the final judgement almost 6 Mo's exactly. But in my situation, I moved out, no kids, I didn't fight over anything, let her keep the pets & the house. We didn't use lawyers I just walked away. Only thing that even made it get to a judge was I changed my mind and wanted to modify our mediation agreement.

To me it sounds weird that your ex finds it weird that you'd want to hold onto memories. They made you who you are. Even if you trash them down the line, I don't see the problem in wanting pics. But I may be biased. I took the wedding video & pics w/ me when I left. 🤷🏾‍♂️

After doing consultations for months I realized I wasn't even gonna be able to handle possible lawyer fees & just did everything myself

I chose to move out of the marital home because things had become too much for me & I had already been unjustly arrested for DV a yr prior. My thought was I'd move out we'd start "dating" again & I'd move home. So I left the pets w/ her. I didn't worry about finding a place that accepted pets. At that time I was still going to our house & spending time with the pets. Then I made a statement to her criticizing her for leaving one of our dogs in the crate for long periods of time & she stopped ret…

I have my ring & hers & plan to pawn them both. I know I won't get what I paid for hers but I figure I don't need em so any pocket change is better than the looming memory

I'd be upset if I got married & my wife didn't take my name. I was upset in my situation where my X hyphenated but her dad isn't even in her life 🤦🏾‍♂️

I was very adamant about my ex NOT keeping my last name! She hyphenated when we got married - which I wasn't a fan of for many reasons - but I figured, we didn't have kids, she didn't get any degrees or do anything significant while having my last name so there was no reason for her to keep it. If she doesn't want me, she doesn't get to keep my name!

I was w/ my ex for 8 yrs, married for 4. I tear up every now & then when I think about how things played out because I miss her & even tho I'm the one that moved out & eventually filed for divorce that wasn't my goal. I was really hoping we could work it out. So now, unfortunately it seems like everything reminds me of her. I take it in stride & know that grieving the relationship & losing my best friend will take time. I don't fully break down anymore & the tears that do come don't come as ofte…

It's a tough club to be a member of, that's for sure. I often have to remind myself that those around me don't truly know what I'm going through. Try to find a support group so that you can connect w/ guys that are going thru a divorce or are divorced.

I walked away from a 4/3 home my stbx & I built & moved into in order to have peace of mind. Ive asked her to buy me out but I doubt that'll happen. So for now I got a small remodeled duplex in a sketchy neighborhood. Definitely not where I want to be, in fact I HATE it but it's cheap & I have somewhere I can afford to lay my head.

Be observant of how she handles things when she gets upset or hurt by others . During my relationship my ex cut off 3 friends (@ different times) that she had known for well over 5 years & known them before me. Just cut them off & acted like they never existed. When I decided I needed to move out, we talked about using the time to work on us. She ended up getting cold & distant, stopped responding to my calls & texts. Said I had a abandoned her & has now started to act like I don't exist & we we…

My ex was a 34 G, incredibly expensive to buy bras that size. Only got to play with them for 7 yrs 🤦🏾‍♂️

One of the things I'll avoid in future relationships is anyone who doesn't align w/ me s3xually. The ex likes to twist my words & use this against me but I always said that I knew we were on different pages but I hoped we grow & explore together over the years. She took that as me going into the marriage under false pretenses & trying to change her. I just meant we were young her early 30s, me mid 30s, if we're gonna spend our lives together why wouldn't we be open to exploring? Especially if I …

I just filed last month so everything is still ongoing. She makes more than me & we don't have kids. Honestly all I want is for her to buy me out of the house, split our marital debts & for her to drop my last name. So we'll see.

I asked for a separation & moved out. I hoped for us to be able to work on our communication & work things out but she ended up ignoring me & acting like I don't exist. She stopped responding to calls & texts & told me to stop coming to our house & wouldn't let me see our pets. So I filed for divorce, there's no sense in letting things linger & being legally attached to someone I can't even talk to.
