I’ve been saying. When a feminist says “equality”, it means more benefits for women and less for men, even if women were already objectively treated better. When a feminist says “inclusiveness”, it means exclusion of men. When a feminist says “diversity”, it means more women and less men, even if it means zero men. I’m hyperaware when these words are thrown out by someone now. I will try to clarify if they actually mean what they say, or they’re just using the feminist definition.

We should all have a female-sounding nickname. For example, call yourself Nicole instead of Nick when applying for jobs.

Ah so there are multiple? Damn if these idiots weren’t actually idiots, scientists would be lining up to research their age reversal.
/r/EverydayMisandry03/04/25 09:11 AM

Was that the moron who somehow aged in reverse (from like 29 to 22 or something) between posts? Lol some people do be crazy.

Ehh what’s new? Feminism and rape apology go together like peanut butter and jelly. Now, accountability and feminism? That’s oil and water.

Singapore has male-only conscription too.

With a few exceptions of course. Like they hate that men are viewed as better leaders (not unreasonable), but they also love that women are viewed as more valuable (like in times of war for example), even if they will rarely admit to the latter (they will twist it to benevolent sexism of course).

I’m just curious, in real life when you mention men’s issues, do people treat you differently (whether positive or negative) afterwards? Like do certain people just stop talking to you afterwards?
/r/MensRights17/02/25 12:56 AM

Nah, not even close. The ask men subreddits (AskMen, AskMenAdvice, AskMenOver30) even have quite a bit of support for feminism, although r/ AskMen has been more critical of it lately, which is a good thing.
/r/MensRights16/02/25 11:40 PM

Is this a record? I wonder if anyone can find a post that would show just one giant circle on this Bingo board.
/r/EverydayMisandry16/02/25 12:17 PM

Quite ironic that a 2chromie user is complaining about misogyny being more accepted than misandry on reddit lol. I mean I shouldn’t be surprised, since even criticizing their religion (feminism) slightly is misogyny to them. While “Kill All Men” is “just a joke, and if you take offense to that you are part of the problem”.
/r/EverydayMisandry16/02/25 12:13 PM

Feminists are masters when it comes to projecting. They believe in patriarchy theory because that’s what female feminists would do if they were in power (oppress the opposite sex).

That’s their entire MO, no?
/r/EverydayMisandry23/01/25 10:25 PM

Damn that’s pathetic. Imagine telling someone “your gender isn’t as bad as frequently depicted” and their response is to continue to double down. I feel sad for him honestly.

In my country, the privilege to be taken away from your family to uphold the patriarchy (we discuss how to prevent women from getting this privilege), and be paid handsomely (if you eat only grass you can save lots). For 2 years.

I remember as a kid watching a local comedy series. In one episode the wife said to the husband that statement in example 1 (Your money is my money, my money is also my money). It was obviously played for laughs, but even as a kid I knew it to be off.

“Every day is men’s day!” You should demand they treat you like it then. Get them to say Happy International Men’s Day 364/365 days a year. Get them to celebrate it with you with a treat (their treat of course). You can reciprocate on that one day that is International Women’s Day.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates19/11/24 02:16 PM

I do wonder, hypothetically, if the Democrats started to acknowledge male issues through a non-feminist lens (aka no patriarchy theory, toxic masculinity etc), would they piss off a significant portion of their voter base? Cos if so, and sadly it wouldn’t surprise me, it would show how fucked the country is, that even acknowledging male issues without blaming men is frowned upon.

Chin up man. In a nihilistic sense, I don’t really find this depressing any more. To me it’s a bit of fascination mixed in with amusement when watching them use their ‘logic’. You just get your points across, backed up with facts and data, and watch them try to twist their way to attempt to insist on “men bad”, failing which they’ll resort to name-calling like a child. I’ll admit though, it can sometimes get boring as they regurgitate the same predictable responses, but occasionally they surpris…

Hope you’re doing good man. While I’m not good at giving pep talks or motivation, maybe the peeps at r/mensupportmen can help you?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/10/24 12:23 PM

I used to do that (cross the road to get away from women) and when I told my feminist “friends” they would applaud and say that’s what every man should do. Now I really can’t be bothered, if the woman’s uncomfortable she can cross the road instead. It’s a public place and I have as much right to exist on it as any woman.

r/Leftwingmaleadvocates and r/everydaymisandry are good. More highly moderated to remove generalizations and the former does not allow rage-bait. But I see the importance in all three (including this) sub. Big no no for menslib however, that one’s just controlled opposition.
/r/MensRights03/10/24 10:46 AM

Wouldn’t that just lead to more women getting hurt/killed too if they fail to kill the men?
/r/EverydayMisandry03/10/24 07:05 AM

Makes it easier for men then. Since they can just avoid the whole firm.

This is her: https://hoflaw.com/our-attorneys/katherine-wilcox-carter/ At least she doesn’t pretend to fight for men. But good to know who she is to avoid her if she ever starts ‘fighting for men’ all of a sudden.

Pretty ironic considering how these kinds love to use ‘mansplain’. Yet here we are.

Goes to show how those troglodytes think eh? Reducing everything to sex, which might ironically make more shamed men view women as nothing more than sex objects.

Hopefully the actions of these idiots (the teachers) will help steer boys and men away from feminism.

Fr. They making it sound like women are so incompetent that them wearing a mask and polishing nails is harder than men working in construction or the like. If I were a woman I’d feel insulted lol.
/r/MensRights18/08/24 01:51 AM

Also note how the more highly upvoted comment in the screenshot insinuates that “Patriarchy” = “men”. That’s as masked-off as it gets.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates12/08/24 07:13 AM

Maybe all the men she has encountered have preferred looking at animals over her. With such a gross personality, it shouldn’t be a surprise.
/r/MensRights10/08/24 08:42 AM

I mean, she seems to be all of the things she uses to describe men. Maybe that’s why she attracts such men?

Lol I read that as femaleparasites at first. Might be a more apt name tbh
/r/MensRights09/08/24 02:00 AM

Lol at my worst I just wished I had no hormones (zero attraction to women), at OP’s worst (maybe?) she wants to kill the majority of men, including me. And we’re the bad guys.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/07/24 12:05 PM

It’s because they (feminists) always view everything from the female lens. So when slapped with a statistic that undeniably shows men being disadvantaged, they’ll turn it around and call it sexism against women instead. This phrase (benevolent sexism) was what originally opened my eyes about the one-sidedness of feminism, way back when I was a naive teenager.
/r/MensRights19/06/24 11:51 AM
32

DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) Lol they really should distinguish between the feminist version of these words and the actual meaning. Or at least put it in air quotes. I know if I were a linguist, I’d hate feminists even more than I already do. Feminist diversity = less men even if it means 0 men. Feminist equity = working towards equity when there are less women, but not when there are more women. Feminist inclusion = exclusion of men
/r/MensRights10/06/24 11:54 AM
16

It’s the patriarchy’s fault somehow
/r/MensRights07/06/24 01:26 PM
2

What are you doing to make it better? I’m guessing she’d just say she’s not personally responsible for abusing men, while expecting innocent men to take responsibility for the actions of the few bad apples. All while ignoring the hypocrisy. Or you know, just blame the mighty ‘patriarchy’, cos that always works.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/05/24 01:20 AM
14

He’s not wrong in thinking that, sadly. Because women do matter more for the general populace.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates28/04/24 12:44 AM
1

Yup basically just like most women in a country with male-only conscription: they only have benefits to gain from the status quo so why should they rock the boat? That’s why it’s gross when these same women will claim they’re for equality, and when pressed on this issue just go “men doing it to other men”, when they themselves have a say in it (a vote; and an unconditional one at that, unlike men). But to be fair, there are tons of men who do support conscription too. Some have the crab in a buc…
/r/MensRights26/03/24 11:31 PM
7

And then 100 years down the road, feminism will claim how women (ignoring the men) were so oppressed by being forcefully conscripted.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/03/24 03:29 PM
5

Heck, I’d even argue the fact that feminism is even allowed to gain this much power, is a testament to a privilege women have had. To make claims without nuance like the ‘wage gap’ and have it be eaten up by the bulk of society, have everything gender-related be viewed from a female lens (see: Benevolent Sexism)… All of that wouldn’t be possible if men as a class (50% of the population) were the uncaring tyrants feminism frequently paints them to be.
/r/MensRights26/03/24 03:03 PM
2

Not no reason, she doesn’t want to be drafted (and tbh as someone who has been through conscription, I understand). But pretending she cares about equal rights and then basically turning it into “yes, by other men” is just gross.
/r/MensRights26/03/24 02:55 PM

Please don’t give them any ideas man.

/r/MensRights20/03/24 08:44 AM

You don’t get it! These men need to ‘smash the patriarchy’ not evade their kidnappers. Only then will good things trickle down to them.
/r/MensRights20/03/24 08:28 AM
22

In feminist speak, ‘gender diversity’ means more women, so it’s important in HR too. Where it’s not important is in trash collection or as conscripts.
/r/MensRights16/03/24 02:48 PM
10

While I sorta get your sentiment, this feels like highlighting how it is more prevalent than widely thought, rather than gendering an issue. Like we frequently hear how “it’s men doing all the killing” etc. So this stat, along with the historical stats (helpfully provided by u/AskingToFeminists) would disprove that.
/r/MensRights12/03/24 10:28 AM

Sometimes it really feels like feminism would rather ‘pwn’ men than help women.
/r/MensRights12/03/24 10:22 AM

Those amoebas are likely to say: “It’s men doing it to other men!”
/r/MensRights10/03/24 01:28 PM

“every other day is International Men’s Day!” Then we should celebrate it like it is: take half the day off/demand celebratory cakes/get company discounts etc. Whatever the women get on IWD, the men get every other day of the year.

Female only wars then. Violators of this will get reee-ed at by the UN.
/r/MensRights03/02/24 06:50 AM

Okay, let’s make the draft female only. By keeping the big bad men away, they’ll be safe right?
/r/MensRights03/02/24 06:41 AM

Would women avoiding interaction with men be sexual harassment too? I doubt so right?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/01/24 07:11 AM

Blame it on the ‘patriarchy’ while continuing to scream “Believe All Women” (unless of course, said woman doesn’t agree with feminism, then she’s a “pickmeisha”).

/r/MensRights02/01/24 10:38 AM

BTW why are you guys so scared of using one account on this website... do you really care so much about fake internet upvotes? Meh They are probably afraid of getting banned on their main accounts from their ‘tolerant’ feminist subreddits. And farming reddit karma is likely their life’s only accomplishment too.
/r/MensRights31/12/23 11:46 PM
17

But but but those aren’t real feminists!!! I, a basement-dwelling ‘patriarchy’-smashing activist, am the real feminist!
/r/MensRights30/12/23 11:20 PM
134

“Misandry doesn’t exist” “Misandry hurts feelings, misogyny kills!” “Those aren’t true feminists!!!” “Men deserve hate anyways, for creating the patriarchy; it’s just the patriarchy backfiring!” Sounds awfully similar to the Narcissist’s Prayer once you list it out like this.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/12/23 11:34 PM
5

I mean I take it you were previously a combatant? Sicne you mentioned injury. Not worth it to give it your all in NS man, just prioritize your safety. And I don’t look down on anyone who has had to serve, I’ve had to do noncombat roles for a while too. But women who mention NS is easy are just morons in my eyes. Freeloaders, to put it bluntly, but I don’t like saying nasty things to the women who do support us.
/r/MensRights24/12/23 03:56 AM
17

I mean even being a clerk or store man which is way easier than combat roles, is still 2 years being wasted away. Those girls are free to sign away 2 years of their lives for peanut ‘pay’, only then will I take them seriously.
/r/MensRights24/12/23 03:15 AM
9

This so damn much. Probe a little further and they’ll just revert to pulling the “men doing it to other men” card. Never mind that politicians including women in the draft would be political suicide.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/12/23 11:01 PM
8

Think about that for a moment. Considering their immediate response to OP is “reee incel”, I doubt they’re capable of thinking.
/r/MensRights13/12/23 05:02 AM
30

Since my country has mandatory conscription for males, and males only, it means that 99% of local-born men have been victims of gender-based violence. The other 1% were also threatened with violence but ultimately found too unfit to be violated.
/r/MensRights12/12/23 08:33 AM
93

Well if you’re responding to something insidiously incorrect like “homelessness is a female issue”, then you can say that you’re just correcting their misconceptions. Although more likely than not you’d be blocked or insulted. If they’re just venting, then I’d just ignore them. Although I’d like to see them not barge in with their “women most affected” energy or calling someone an incel when they discuss men’s issues separately (might be hard for these types tbh).
/r/MensRights26/11/23 01:08 PM
3

Well in a way, sure. But many short guys are also more desperate, so more likely to get played (used) too. For money, attention etc. That’s why it’s important to build up their self-confidence (cue the retards that throw ‘Napoleon Complex’ around when a short guy even shows a hint of confidence).
/r/MensRights03/11/23 11:38 AM
10

Some (many?) are just malignant though, not so much ignorant.
/r/MensRights28/10/23 11:06 PM
71

“It’s benevolent sexism! They view women as weak and therefore not worth killing!” “It’s men doing it to other men!” Or quite simply, though more likely to not be said out loud: “I don’t like how it doesn’t frame women as primary victims, so we can’t call it gendercide”
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates04/10/23 01:08 AM
6

Conscripts are basically cannon-fodder, cos training a soldier takes a lot of time, resources, and drive (something a lot of conscripts don’t have; not that I blame them, since we’re basically forced, under the threat of jailtime, to serve).

The following is a very informed and highly reusable comment by Karen Straughan in response to a feminist who thinks the many blatant sexists among feminists aren't real feminists: So what you're saying is that you, a commenter using a username on an internet forum are the true feminist, and the feminists actually responsible for changing the laws, writing the academic theory, teaching the courses, influencing the public policies, and the massive, well-funded feminist organizations with thousand…

there are women so similar to you but who claim to be feminist and are (knowingly or not) misandrist and feel the same conviction as you and believe themselves to be entirely correct. I don’t go around saying “Kill All Women” or supporting causes that exclude women. So please don’t put me in the same camp as them… But since the majority of both parties seems to not research the other, they see you guys as misogynists, and you see them as misandrists. I look at the policies (Duluth Model, VAWA, etc.) that the prominent feminists drive, not only what they say (which is often times misandrist too). If you’re a peasant who identifies as a feminist, and are offended by the way many here view feminism, take it up with those feminists in power, not us. And before you bring up “men in power yadayada”, just know being a man is not a choice, being a feminist (a label) is. And I mean this not a condescending manner, but just look around plenty of examp…

They’re a LARPing troll account tryna get this sub banned. Same pattern as a previously banned one, where they try to post something that on the surface is pro-men, but really with each subsequent comment they can’t help but let the mask slip.
/r/MensRights03/09/23 04:29 AM
35

Why is there still « positive » discrimination against men when we underperform ? Because discrimination against men is positive for feminism? It’s just another stupid term along the lines of “reverse sexism” and “benevolent sexism”, to view it entirely from the female lens, rather than from any objectivity.
/r/MensRights31/08/23 10:55 PM

Yes they do, as seen in this TinMen post. I was just being tough on the troll is all. It was actually quite obvious they were baiting.

Sure thing buddy.
/r/MensRights30/08/23 11:44 AM

Lol how did you interpret that from my comment? I know you’re probably that troll that keeps getting banned, so unsurprising I guess. But yeah misandry is rife in feminism, doesn’t mean every bad thing happening to men is feminism though.

Imagine, just image if someone went into any feminist space and flipped the genders of this statement. Fr. Or just change ‘men’ to ‘blacks’ and ‘women’ to ‘whites’. You’d have a racist talking point. I’m not responsible for what another man does, and I can’t control what another man does either.
/r/MensRights20/08/23 04:42 AM
6

I mean, more women in power wouldn’t magically solve men’s issues either. Since women as a group lack an out-group bias. More of the right type of women, sure. But that can be said for men too. And who said anything about men not adding anything to the problem? Scathing talks about ‘simps’ (read: men; although I don’t like to call them names) come up all the time here, including those with power. So, I guess you’re just selectively seeing what you wanna see. Don’t forget, this is one of the few …

Men get no empathy or sympathy.. but men are expected to empathize with and have women's issues at the forefront of their minds on a daily basis.. It’s why I’m getting more and more indifferent (not against) when it comes to stuff like abortion rights and all. I’m pro-choice, but I’m tired of the hypocrisy when it comes to men (conscription, infant MGM in the US, lack of reproductive rights etc.)

It’s why I don’t watch many films today. Also respect has to be mutual imo. If you were raised to respect women, but certain women don’t respect you, you don’t need to respect them too. It applies to men too (though hardly anyone really raises their kids to specifically respect men).
/r/MensRights13/08/23 11:15 PM

Actually look at this toxic feminist’s post history. I find it ironic how they love making fun of “incels” (no doubt that blackpill or what not is toxic) when they profit off of their existence (OnlyFans). If there weren’t lonely guys around, these types wouldn’t be as successful as they are. So yeah, these kinds probably do want guys to remain lonely and not express emotions to them.

We should start throwing these terms back at them. For example we can say we focus mainly on fighting Benevolent Sexism because it harms women so much. That women should see equal (and we know “equal” in feminist terms just means more women than men) representation on the battlefield because they need to share the glory.

For me, specific to countries with male-only conscription, it’s being conscripted against your will. The statistics show that women are safer then men, so if you're concerned, how do you think we feel? Lol we are just taught to be brave and not feel a thing. So while we might statistically be more in danger, I think men are generally less fearful. It’s toxic shit as it’s basically male disposability at work. In general, the elites only care about themselves and their kin. They dgaf who their laws disadvantage as long as it benefits them. The general public tends to view women’s issues as more pressing, thus said elites are more inclined to care more about women’s issues as a result, just to pacify the masses (PR is still important for leaders). This leaves the problems that the average man faces, more or less unresolved.

In the insect (and arachnid) world, females are usually the dominant ones. Larger in size, more aggressive, with exceptions of course. In the carnivorous ones that means that sexual cannibalism can happen. If we’re talking about something closer to humans (like other mammals), hyenas are pretty interesting to look at. There is a matriarchy that puts any mature male below every single female in the clan.

Korean men, seriously stop voting for these politicians who do this… I’m not sure about South Korea, but in Singapore however you vote it will be for a party that does not dare to radically change the conscription system (e.g. including women, paying conscripts a reasonable amount etc.). that's what I mean essentially. Sure. But MRA =/= men, and feminist/feminism =/= women. When I say criticise feminism, it’s with stuff like the Duluth Model, or the WEF’s gender equality index. Or the prominent feminists like Mary Koss, who I think would be a more accurate representation for feminism than random internet feminists who may have good intentions. Feminism is an ideology, while men is a demographic. One can choose to be …

Former allows men’s issues to be discussed under the feminist lens; any criticism of feminism is not allowed. r/Mensrights is (for the most part) antifeminist and less ban-happy. I personally feel criticising feminism (not women) is inevitable when it comes to advocating for the rights of men.

While I was a conscript, we often joked (or were we?) that we were in prison. Strict regimentation with the constant threat of being sent to Detention Barracks or even prison, tough physical labour that you are not paid a proper salary for (although certain conscripts do get clerical/office roles, which then becomes a shitfest of office politics), and not to mention, when you do get to go out of camp, public perception of you tends not to be very high. All this while your female peers are out th…

I’m not from the US, but isn’t the right to vote for men tied to registration for Selective Service there? In my country (Singapore), most conscripts (which is only male) are not allowed to vote by virtue of being under 21 at the time of conscription. So while not directly discriminated in terms of voting, the very issue of male-only conscription is less likely to be taken seriously by politicians because the population affected can mostly not vote.

Speaking of the draft/conscription, in my country at least, the conscripts (only men) are mostly too young to even vote. So, it really is the “others” that are deciding their fates for them. It’s honestly quite pathetic that the “yes by other men” gang can’t even have a little sympathy.

Probably in their minds, benefitting women over men is the politically right thing to do that makes them look ‘nice’. So having 50/50 doesn’t particularly stand-out compared to not having anything for anyone. Just a postulation tho.

Yeah for our country as an example, it makes no sense for most people to vote against NS, since the ones voting are mostly those already done with the gruelling two years of NS, or do not have to serve altogether. Conscripting those with no say in the matter is a pretty shrewd move eh. Not that any party in Singapore would currently dare to shake up the status quo anyways.

FDSers means participants of the subreddit FemaleDatingStrategy, which I highly encourage you to avoid. But terms like HVM (high value male) and LVM (low value male) are commonplace there, where they discuss how to best exploit men. It is important to note though, that even in reading such posts and comments, that they are not representative of women as a whole. Lest we make the same mistake as the people we condemn.

I think women on average are just average human beings (boring answer I know). The internet is a place for the like-minded to flock together, so it may seem like all the women on a particular place (feminist spaces for example) may be like that. Now feminists on the other hand, due to the label having roughly 2500 meanings by now, I can’t exactly say, but I could see how the …

Twisting words to make them lose meaning. Another example being the feminist “equality” meaning just women having more rights while just paying lip service to male issues (just cry more), or even worse protesting against actual equal gender neutral laws. It’s smart of these feminists to do this, I’ll give them that. It at least fools the majority of the population who do not have a vested interest in gender relations.

Perhaps if men had an in-group bias, there might be less men’s issues to begin with? For example, a comparative lack of the sense of need to sacrifice yourself for women, leading to the male-only draft (or the idea of it) to be more disdainful to the general public. Maybe the “by other men” gang might even be met with crazy looks instead.

Do we use “toxic femininity” to describe self-detrimental behaviour that are more commonly expressed in women? I …

Honestly, I view anyone who says this as clearly seeing it as “men vs women” by implying that each group is a monolith (or at least when convenient for them). It’s probably the result of feminism having a stranglehold on gender relations. What are women’s problems caused by? “Patriarchy” What are men’s problems caused by? “Toxic Masculinity” (Or “patriarchy hurts men too”) Even people I know who don’t necessarily identify as feminist often use these reasonings, the same way the layperson looks at the dictionary definition of feminism and thinks “feminism = gender equality”.

I believe some feminists will rebut using “this is why the patriarchy hurts men too”, so we “have to dismantle the patriarchy together”. It also depends on how the feminist defines patriarchy, which in this case they might use the “since most leadership positions are held by men, therefore we live in a patriarchy” definition. As if having more women in leadership positions will automatically make men have more healthcare.

There are also gender-specific tax reliefs. For example, the presence of a working mother’s tax relief but the absence of one for working fathers. Men do get a tax relief after they have gone through the two years of National Service, but a woman who marries a man who has gone through it get a tax relief (albeit a lesser one) despite not going through NS.

In my country (Singapore) at least, many authoritative figures in charge of kids/young men (think: teachers/superiors of conscripts in the army) are quite afraid of parents nowadays. If I had a child (though I don’t want one in this climate), I would make them know that should their teacher cross the line, they should let me know, and I would ensure that said teacher would be sorry for doing so. As much as I like to bitch about mandatory male-only conscription in my country (Singapore), I really do not believe our conscription is even comparable to yours. You know what was really retarded? The country actually had a “NS experience” camp for the public a few years back. A little boot camp aimed at (mainly) girls and women so they could experience “NS”. Naturally it was a waaaay watered down version, so if anything it creates a mockery out of the actual experience of the men who are serving/had served.
/r/MensRights13/09/21 02:12 AM

I think a reason why could be a combination of the traditionalist mindset of many people (men and women alike), and the fact that about 50% of the population would get disadvantaged (compared to the status quo) by a gender-neutral conscription. So the politicians have little need to pander to a minority of the population. There’s probably also the stigma of advocating for male issues vs female issues. Where the latter is seen as progressive, the former less so. Just my two cents.
/r/MensRights13/09/21 02:08 AM

Yeah, teenage me would look at the dictionary definition of feminism (“equality”) and identify as one. But their dubious methodologies and hypocrisy made me second guess myself. I think feminism has made both sexes fear/distrust each other more. For me, I find myself being less trusting of women in general, which is unfortunate, because I know most women are no doubt not crazy feminazis. I guess I’m fortunate I’m not one to get lonely easily, else I might qualify for the “incel” trope; in other words, I’m guessing this increased mistrust of the opposite sex may contribute to “inceldom” in some guys.

I guess framing it as affecting women more is the only way to get through to most people’s brains. Since many would rather fight for animal rights than for their fellow species’ males.

I have also seen how women are mostly the ones who suffer. I hope you mean that’s what those people said. Because I don’t think floods, droughts, or famines caused by those care about your gender, race, or sexuality lol. The poor being disproportionately affected, I can believe. In fact, I believe I’ve come across an article where the UN actually intentionally withheld food from men in a ravaged town. But yeah, humans in general are more sympathetic to women’s (and children’s) suffering, than th…

Hmm I wonder if students used these kinds of pointlessly gendered language in their English class, would their grades be affected? Something like “Tom mansplained to Kathy. Kathy then proceeded to femsplain back to Tom.” Probably get better grades for the first sentence, but downgraded for the second.

Oh there is a stigma against mental illness here. Plus we are infamous for having horrible work-life balance. I guess everything is dandy if you are well to do enough, which applies to most places anyways. And another particularly sexist incident in school was when I was 11, this female teacher would enter the room everyday and ask all the boys to stand up immediately. For being disruptive. Even if some of the disruption were from the girls. And not all the boys were being disruptive. Plus growi…

Yes but the vast majority are sexual assault/rapes. Hence I used “many of the men”, not all. I also did not say it wasnt sexist. I have witnessed the public caning of a schoolboy when I was 8. He was being disruptive in class, like most 10 year olds tend to be. Extremely humiliating, and I wouldnt wish it on anyone. I as a Singaporean would know how sexist and how normalised it is to be sexist towards men. Some of my own relatives (younger women particularly) have the same “woke” culture that ha…

While that is true, in practice I dont think it is really applied for such cases. As a Singaporean, most of the cases of men getting caned in Singapore prisons were convicted for serious offences such as rape. Usually murder = death penalty. There was a recent case about an evil woman who abused her maid to death, which I reckon if the abuser was a man, would warrant the caning as well (https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/gaiyathiri-murugayan-admits-killing-maid-piang-ngaih-don-142630…

In a way the feminist movements trying to go against men help programmes are creating more misogynists. And not of the kind of their definition (which is any man that disagrees with them). Kinda shows that feminism is more of a move for power rather than a genuine movement for equality, or that the feminists in charge are just plain stupid, which I find hard to believe.

I bet a feminist had an orgasm reading that. But seriously that is f’d up, even if many of the men receiving those punishment did very horrible things. If they were born a different way, they would be a “protected species”, regardless of how many horrible deeds they did.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/05/21 11:13 PM

Yeah feminism’s message to men is often very contradictory as well. It’s like men are expected to be psychics who must be able to read women and react accordingly. I’ve found the “not giving a fuck” mentality to be pretty liberating, of course, as long as I’m not doing anything immoral or illegal. And no, ignoring women’s opinions of my hobby (or even looks, which I cannot even control) is not immoral, feminists.

Not to mention, if you would like to consider the pay ramifications, it would be more like taking away your last 2 years of working pay (towards retirement), rather than the first 2 years in work. But let’s be real, I do not think conscription will ever be abolished. The elites do need their (essentially) free labour to safeguard their wealth and well-being. Also women have a choice to childbirth (as they should). Not at all comparable to a law that forces you to give up 2 years (or more or less…

I wouldn’t say feminism as much as tradcons for the older men here. And honestly for some older women too. But in my eyes feminists and tradcons share the same goal of keeping men in their traditional gender roles. They differ when it comes to female traditional roles, where the former seeks to free and the latter seeks to enforce. Also probably has to do with the “Women is wonderful” effect. I can’t personally give you an estimate on the amoutn of local men being in each category, as I don’t ty…

Yeah things can get quite pricy. But if I were to compare it with US, i think the healthcare is a step up in terms of affordability. Also basic stuff like food (if you know where to look) I will say is pretty reasonably priced. Getting a car is super expensive, but the public transport is honestly quite good. To answer the policies/laws portion, I honestly don’t see how one can look at them and go “wow, women are disadvantaged here”. Recently there was a ruling to allow women to get equal access…

No I don’t think so, maybe more prevalent in the younger males though. Considering that in some respects, the government here is “China-lite”, I don’t think many residents care enough to potentially get themselves in trouble by posting such stuff publicly. Don’t get me wrong, it is generally a good place to live if you are well-off (low rates of violence, good healthcare), but sometimes the government reminds me of the feminism subreddits’ posters in terms of their averseness to criticism lol.

Lol when a male minister from Singapore even said that “serving is a privilege”. And not to mention the country even had a bootcamp for members of the public (mainly girls and women, since they naturally don’t have that “privilege”) to experience a short “military” stint. Yeah, this problem will continue to exist for as long as Singapore exists. Honestly, if the conscripts were better compensated for there would be less complaining (but losing 2 years of your prime is really hard to compensate f…

I had listened in on someone’s rant recently. Well, she started going full “SJW” and stating how “it’s so sad that the average father is so bad”. Well, I took exception to that, since my own father, who is a loving and great father, was also in the general vicinity of the conversation. And obviously making a blanket statement about parents based on their gender is not wise. Obviously she didnt see anything wrong with that statement, as she continued ranting on. But then I thought about it, aren’t men more likely to suffer from stranger violence? And if I know I do not have any ill intentions, why should I stress myself just to placate someone else’s paranoia? We’re in a public area afterall, it’s not like I’m trespassing or anything.

It’s sad that sexism against men is so normalised. It seems to be perpetuated by both genders too. As it is, I feel that “men love women, more than women love men”. Men really need to stop putting women on a pedestal (not treat them badly, but just not favour them just because of their genitalia), because often that appreciation is not reciprocated.

Yeah male discrimination in SG is very normalised sadly. The media still mainly talks about women’s issues though, like most western countries, and many still hold the believe that here, “women’s issues are more important than men’s”. I think for the most part, we are still rather conservative though, so less (or maybe I live under a rock) SJWs type.

1) Yeah. I believe that is a part of every military. All the propaganda to try to make you protect your country, when really you are fighting for those in power. In times of war, I think the sad truth that will always happen regardless of country, is the less fortunate will tend to die first. It is not uncommon for conscripts here to just do the bare minimum to not get into trouble, and I honestly cannot blame them. 2) Yeah. I do not consider myself to be money-minded. I think I’ll combine points 1 and 2 together. 1/2) Yes women get a “Working Mother’s Tax Relief” which is 15% for the first child. And they also get further Tax Relief if they are married to a man who has been through conscription (albeit at a 50% rate compared to a man). So let’s use an example: Person X and Person Y are two Singaporeans that have an annual income of $30000 (assume this amount is already subjected to all the gender neutral tax reliefs). Let’s say X is a female while Y is a male…

I don’t want to demonise the women, like the “Kill all men” feminists. So I’ll just say “assholes”, which is gender neutral. As for the benefits, for reference. I personally save about $30 a year in taxes based on my current income. I bet if you asked people who have gone through the conscription, they would rather pay that extra amount annually than lose those two years. That’s not even taking into account the extra income you couldve earned if you were not bogged down by conscription. For exam…

As a Singaporean male, I feel this to be one of the more fked up law here. Being essentially a second-class citizen until you “serve your dues” just because of your gender. Have no issues with females fighting for equal rights. But quite a number just want equality in parts where they’re disadvantaged (I’ve seen pay, promotion opportunities, workplace sexism brought up for example), and want nothing to do with equality when the situation benefits them (mandatory National Service, equal punishmen…

Yeah singapore is a very sexist country. Male-only conscription (2 years + 10 cycles of reservist), which may deter employers (due to reservist). And it also means females get to go to university 2 years earlier, with no mandatory breaks during employment (childbirth is a choice). Not to mention if you are homosexual, you better be female. Because male-male sex is illegal while female-female isnt. Oh yeah, and the stupid “females cant be rapist” law.
/r/PussyPass09/09/20 11:20 PM

In Singapore we ‘joke’ that it is illegal to be born male. Since you have to go through two years of ‘jail’ (conscription) before attending university. While those with vaginas get to go straight to uni.
