What do you mean make something of himself? Most average dudes will have a house and a stable job at that age. What’s the bare minimum of accomplishment you have wanted them to manifest?

Isn’t it so easy to tell them apart though? The ones with a huge ego are the loudest, always show-offy, always the stereotypical example of what they are trying to personify. A person who is real is going to appear pretty average, not talking about looks, but in career, hobbies, cleanliness, etc. Yet, people always want the above average, so they buy into manipulation. Idk just my view

That’s the second time this year I was caught up in convo and forgot to pay for my food
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/25 02:05 AM

Well the 5k went good. Finished in 35 mins! Even started talking to a guy at the end who seemed really cool and chill, actually he started talking to me! Except I was so anxious and distracted that I forgot to pay for food in line I just grabbed it and didn’t realize until after I started eating. I went up and immediately paid but the guy clearly noticed and was weirded out because he kinda didn’t seem to want to continue talking after that.

I know two passport bros in person (neither call themselves passport bro). One is 35 one is like in his 50s. The guy in his 50s got scammed pretty much, and the guy who is 35 I just met him and I think he’s only been with his wife a short while so I can’t say anything. I don’t know. The passport bro thing to me just reeks of desperation. You’re really going to put money towards that when you could be using it to build your life?

I had a couple shots of crown apple when I went to pick up the bar food because I was like “why not?” and took a couple hits of weed when I got home. Feeling nice. Yeah, true. I have a metal roof on mine thankfully, but if I stay for 30 years it might need replacing. Floors, I haven’t had to do at least yet. Though my water heater gave me a scare, but it was only the elements that needed replaced.

All in all, dating is luck and there is no strategy. Right time right place is all it is. You have to put yourself into situations where it is more likely to happen if you want it to happen. I believe you could learn to enjoy occasional outings if you found something you’re interested in, even if it seems like it isn’t up your alley right now. That’s all I have to say. Take care
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 06:01 AM

Coming from someone who has had severe social anxiety and has some remnants of it to this day, the only real way to get over it is to figure out what you’re anxious about (rejection, what people think of you, how people will treat you, whatever) and put yourself into social situations and learn to accept when it inevitably happens. Awkward moments are unavoidable for everyone, and they’ll especially come more frequently when you’re socially inexperienced. But you do get better the more you do it…

/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 05:01 AM

Honestly I have been thinking the same exact thing you’re saying in these comments. I read a post that I will link here after I comment and it kinda put it into perspective for me. Basically, you’ve just gotta learn to enjoy it. You aren’t going to really make friends with strangers at the gym, coffee shops, on the street, etc because a lot of people are there doing their thing. While some might be open to friendship, others aren’t, and while it doesn’t hurt to start small talk and be friendly i…

Let’s put it this way: if there’s a lot of single mothers because they picked bad men, that only means she picked a bad man that was in her dating pool. But we know that there are better men out there. So if the man was toxic, she fell for it and chose bad. I have to clarify I don’t believe this entirely, but it does happen sometimes.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/25 02:29 AM

I would think it leans more towards the correlation of “bad boy traits are more interesting to girls” than the “they are all going after chad”
/r/PurplePillDebate23/04/25 02:16 AM

I have nothing against single moms myself, I was just expressing that idea. Like you explained, it would be very easy to see it that way, but that doesn’t mean the single mom doesn’t deserve to be happy.

I was thinking about celebrating earth day going on a hike or something. But I don’t got much time today. My water heater needs fixed, gotta do my gym and food routine, gotta vacuum and do laundry, and it’s Tuesday, my dedicated writing day of the week where I go to a cafe to write. So… not much time. Maybe I’ll have time to walk around town at the end of the day, but not hiking. Tomorrow I have to take my car to get looked at, on top of my daily food/gym routine. But I also want to see a movie …

Do you not believe average-attractive people could be a virgin later in life? Let’s assume they had low self esteem throughout their life until their mid twenties, and, in their late twenties, actually earned their confidence and self esteem? But they live in a rural area, networking is hard there, especially in post-covid years. Cherry on top, they do seem to catch a woman’s interest once or twice a year, but not enough yet to come across an option that they reciprocate the interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/25 02:30 PM

Are you going after psychics? What they probably notice is you seem unconfident in the way you carry yourself. It has nothing to do with being a virgin. You’re not wrong, i remember when i was in high school, class of 2015, girls were using the word virgin like some kind of undateable outcast, but they can’t magically sense if you’re a virgin. I’m gonna go against the doomer grain here and suggest that later generations, like the middle or tail end of Alpha will be more sex positive and less uptight as the current generation. Gen Z incels and femcels will become an echo of the past, many will off themselves as they grow older, others will just become bitter, but some will actually change themselves and mature.

It’s hard to be a non-drinker in a world where drinking is popular. Even swapping vices, like another commenter suggested toking instead of drinking, doesn’t accommodate for the social disconnect there. So now if I’m at a bar or a club I’ll have one drink per hour and down a glass of water after every drink or two.

I think the best thing a man can do is put himself into those situations, where he will occasionally come across women regularly. You don’t have to date anyone who you’re not interested in, but you’ll have a better chance of meeting someone you’re interested in. I don’t know. I’m single as fuck so maybe my advice is stupid. But, dating apps are a waste of time in my experience and really aren’t worth the trouble. You think a good looking woman would pick your profile, have a prolonged conversati…

Are you pretty close with some of these male friends from the hobbies and sports? Has the topic of dating ever come up when you hang out? Do they know you’re single and looking? It puts you into the right position. Women don’t like being hit on at the gym, right, but that doesn’t mean you won’t bump into any and have a conversation. Leave the headphones at home, smile when you make eye contact, make small talk if they look open and not busy. I mean, this isn’t going to guarantee anything, but ne…

Any hobby groups in your location, or social activities? Sports? Maybe go to a pub, even if you don’t drink. Even just going about your day to day life in public places could increase likelihood - it is always possible to meet friends at the gym or, if you do any work in a cafe you might eventually start talking to regulars. That’s a pretty big thing for a lot of guys in this generation, because of the gender wars rhetoric being as loud and expansive as it is. Put everything you learned online out of your head, about women being afraid of men approaching, etc. there’s obviously some truth to it, but it’s highly exaggerated and varies from woman to woman. There’s nothing wrong with making small talk with people man. Don’t let it get you down when people aren’t as reciprocative of your small talk, some people just are…

Possibly an awkward moment. But that’s why you tread lightly at first so you can roll it off without awkwardness, if the vibes don’t mesh.

I’ve gotta be honest. It’s incredibly weird to me that that’s all you said, “she’s an awesome person, hope she’s doing well” and that’s the reason the girl didn’t want to continue. You either minimized what you actually said, she had another reason for not wanting to continue dating but she used that as a convenient excuse, or she is incredibly insecure.

One thing that is undoubtedly consistent is that bitter people are unhappy in their own lives, so the pattern you're seeing probably does mean something. Not that autistic people can't be happy in their own lives, just that some aren't and take it out on others.

Yep. I’m hopeful to make friends/meet a partner eventually by regularly going to the gym and nearby coffee shops, and going for walks. Not that they’re the best places to cold approach, but I feel like I might see a familiar face and start a conversation, or they might recognize me and start a conversation as well. I’m stuck in a very rural area, I like it here, but there are not much in the way of events and no sports teams for adults.

Myself i would think 1-2 nights a week, maybe a 3rd, we spend some time together. But usually once during the week and once during the weekend. And we take turns picking what to do: go see a movie, movie at home, go have some drinks, have coffee, dine out, go for a walk, or just stay at home, etc. I also want to take turns driving so we both have a turn to look out the window.

That mask isn’t going to stay on forever, and if your girl finds you a bit boring later down the road, or less fantastic than the show you put on to get her, there’s a chance she will not accept the real you and move on. Reread my very first comment: Considering all of these answers here that just go to show how picky most women are, on top of previous threads that show that women give reasons for not approaching men themselves and that the onus should be on men to approach, why is it assumed “something is wrong” with a man if they are a virgin later in life? Why is it so surprising a completely normal dude could just have not ran into the opportunity?

What’s with the desire to become above average in social skills? Is that something you really desire for yourself? You can’t be avoidant and expect to meet anyone, that’s a given. But you don’t need to be above average at it to make connections. Somebody you like can like you for other strengths that you have, if you have the social skills to meet them and hold a conversation with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/25 06:43 PM
1

I disagree. People do make progress away from social anxiety later in life. You can easily find plenty of examples. It doesn’t have to be a person’s choice in order for it to not be genetic, or for it to not be engraved in a person’s being. Just like addiction isn’t a choice but it also isn’t engraved in someone’s DNA. (Well, ok, addiction has been proven to be genetic in some cases). There are ways around it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/25 06:16 PM

Yeah, OP. If I was told to lower my standards because I’m reaching out of my league, I wouldn’t budge. I don’t think anyone would. I think we all have to have an idea of what’s right for us. A man who is reclusive and severely introverted shouldn’t expect a woman of high status. A woman who is severely overweight shouldn’t expect a man who goes to the gym daily. A man who is scrawny and a geek shouldn’t expect a gym girl either. A lot of it is about lifestyle similarities.

The unfortunate thing is men that are passive, subservient and submissive are often overlooked by a lot of women. And are often called creeps if their social skills are stunted on top of it (and since a lot of people take advantage/avoid men like that, it isn’t unusual for their social skills to be stunted)

Genuine question, since this seems to be a common experience from women I’ve heard on Reddit. How are men even able to manipulate women this way, especially unattractive men? From what I’ve heard on here and out of the mouths of various other ladies, don’t most women like dominating/assertive men? So isn’t it more natural to attract the conservative men you mention that see women as children?

I do go to neighboring cities that have colleges, to hike and go to cafes to do some writing. That’s about it. They’re still around population 10-15k but bigger than my city. I’m hoping to start a nice chat with someone at a cafe some day, if I can come up with something meaningful to say. The other week I was at a cafe and an attractive lady sat nearby me when there were plenty of other places to sit. I shy’d out but maybe next time if in a similar situation I might just start small talk if she…

I wonder, are a lot of other guys on here from rural areas? Dating in rural areas is nonexistent. No meetup groups, no wide friend group unless you’re a part of “the” clique.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/25 08:41 AM

Do you have to be flirty/teasing to succeed with attractive women? It’s just not something I care to put effort into. I have a sense of humor, but I need all conversation to be down to earth and straightforward, and humor here and there sprinkles in. Can’t do constant back and forth witty banter, not only do I not have the skill, it’s just not enjoyable as an actual conversation. This is how I talk to all of my friends and family, so it’s what’s natural to me.

I didn’t see anything woe is me in his comment, at least not his first comment, so that’s quite an assumption. Just because someone says theyre passive or shy you automatically assume woe is me? Why couldn’t they just be saying it as an explanation why they’re a virgin (if they were asked why)? Also, how does being passive or shy not have anything to do with dating? Most women prefer dominant and boisterous men, and shy men make less moves.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/25 03:17 AM

I once again got on dating apps, just to be reminded of why I stopped using them. I’d get a match with someone I liked and start the conversation, in this case it was “I see you’re also into healthy eating and nutrition, what are your favorite healthy meals? Also how has your week been?” — just to never get a response. This is how my experience in dating apps has always been. And it takes two months to get another match with someone interesting.

So it’s the paradox of choice that’s the issue for you. Eg, “there’s nothing to watch” because you’re subscribed to dozens of streaming services. Some shows catch your eye and you’d probably enjoy them and be glad you watched them, but you’d rather keep scrolling until you found a show that you think will be 10/10

The one arguing in bad faith is you, you’re the only one being rude in your responses. My argument is leading more towards the second one, about whether to put more effort into building a quality relationship vs putting more effort into a career or saving for a quality house. The only difference is I would say that since a partner is more valuable I would want to take MORE time finding that, because it is more valuable I’m searching for higher quality, but it’s a more central focus. There’s obvi…

A relationship is less permanent than a house or a job? Sure, if you’re materialistic. Are you saying you’d honestly prefer to live and entire life without feeling love or loving anyone than live a life without a dream home? What’s so funny about saying love is more valuable than a house?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/25 06:53 AM

I responded to someone who made a similar point as your first two paragraphs: I guess you’d have to ask yourself why none of them are appealing. Is it the paradox of choice, where having more options means all options are less satisfying? Or are you really only coming across absolute bad choices? It seems delusional to believe that a woman would actually encounter so many men who would only use her for sex, if she was a true catch.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/25 06:44 AM

I don’t want to speak for OP, but I believe he meant a quality house/job. Of course nobody wants to be homeless or jobless. But even still, if you’re homeless, if you have real love there’s still a very valuable, unwavering constant in your life. I would say it’s more valuable, but not as essential for living.

I don’t see anything in the OP that indicates he can’t be happy alone. His point is entirely still valid, and you’re entirely correct that being happy alone is the primary thing even before being in a happy relationship. It doesn’t negate the OP at all.

I mean, they’d probably find out right before the sex at the latest, which would make the whole thing uncomfortable, the guilt of being caught lying while you’re just about to get intimate. I mean, there’s really no way you can just pretend to know what you’re doing the first time and be successful at it.

It’s not impossible for there to be both, but someone who doesn’t care about how they dress is more likely to not care about their cleanliness or being organized. It’s like dating jocks when you are looking for someone who prefers playing D&D over watching the NFL. Not impossible but it’s weird to look there. Not saying there’s anything wrong with it, just like there’s nothing wrong looking for needles in a haystack.

A lot of women on Reddit talk about how they’d like their man to help out more with chores around the house. There’s also the theme of wanting them to be college educated and being a hard worker. Being kind and loyal. Being good with money. Those are organized traits, it doesn’t have to be OCD level. But why seek those out in a rebellious type? It’s like finding a needle in a haystack.

That’s a good question because I don’t really have one. I do already talk to people but I suppose to continue to talking to people. Maybe some day I will bump into someone who will be a friend. I’ll try going out to the city bars again here shortly every once in a while. The guy that did my taxes this year and I had a pretty engaging conversation and he practically was inviting me to hang out, explaining that he had a shooting range at his house and he’d have to invite me sometime. Then after th…

I guess it’s a big priority because I hate the idea of growing old alone. At the same time I’m very introverted and usually enjoy my solitary activities except on the occasional times of day I feel lonely and worry about my future.

This isn’t about my feelings, it’s about the important differentiation between incels and virgins. And yes, there is a stigma against virgins, there is no denying it.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 05:09 PM
1

Fine, let me rephrase the question: I can’t help but suspect that, by the way you talk about them, you seem to have some kind of negative view of involuntarily virgin men. Am I correct in that? Not to mention using “incel” as a synonym for involuntarily virgin. Because incel is used to describe a particular misogynistic group, its literal meaning has been lost to time. And I’m not projecting insecurities on anything, I’m just trying to correct the stigma against virgins. Even feminists seem to a…

I can’t help but suspect that, by the way you talk about them, you seem to have some kind of negative view of virgin men. Am I correct in that? Specifically “in a society that doesn’t need them”, “feel their lives don’t have a purpose unless it has labels”, and grouping them all together as a hive mind and calling them problematic. Not to mention using “incel” as a synonym for virgin
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 02:52 PM

So you’re under the impression that virgin or unpartnered men are problematic? Why? Do you believe every virgin or unpartnered man is violent?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 02:34 PM

The issue I’m having is you’re conflating simply being a virgin with being an incel

I was hoping to build on the hobbies I already have. I go for walks (i thought i might talk to someone on my walk), I write (thought I might visit cafes and maybe talk with people), I go to the gym (I thought I might talk to people there). Well, in none of those places do I talk to people because I feel like most people are minding their own business and I’m afraid of coming off as intruding. There are really only bars in my area, but it’s a small town bar scene. I’m considering going out to the…

I’m a 29 year old dude who kind of got a bit behind socially in life. I’ve been picking myself up the last couple of years and have made progress. I’m at a point now where I know I need to push myself even further. I don’t know exactly what that means, but I know I need good friends. It’s hard to come across at this age, especially since I’m in a rural area.

I’m about 30 man. And honestly I don’t really have the desire to be someone I’m not, the only reason I sometimes dream of being more extroverted and witty is to attract a partner. Other than that I don’t really get my jollies from it.

Working out is so healthy it’s worth it. I don’t envy girls or guys that don’t lift. It is okay to take time off as needed. The fact you seem to be disappointed and long to return to the gym is a good sign. Illnesses, cold weather, and other inconveniences suck but they’re a part of life. Don’t let it demotivate you.

Question 4 the ladies: Do you perceive any man who is making small talk with you as having an ulterior motive? Even if he doesn't say anything flirty? Let's say a coworker, a customer (if you're in customer service), someone you don't know who is out for a walk if you're out for a walk yourself (or at the park).

One thing I learned about being in this sub is to not take stuff as word of law here. Life and people are way too chaotic, especially when it comes to relationships/sex, to be pinpointed like that. If you're a decent person and put effort into your life, while you aren't guaranteed anything, you have a good chance of getting laid. Don't worry about it.

/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/25 01:44 AM

It’s not necessarily really boring, it depends on how much you require to feel excited. For some people, simple pleasures in life are the best. Occasional trips, going on dates and on walks regularly, and living basic. And there doesn’t necessarily have to be mindless obedience in order to be an obedient person. Just someone who doesn’t want drama, who is fairly passive but is assertive when it conflicts with something they find important. And you don’t have to be a clown to be funny from time t…

The reason I mentioned the above average thing is because that’s exactly what these men are reacting to. They’re not saying women should have zero standards or just date anybody. They’re talking about unrealistic standards. And yes, I know that dating isn’t necessary. Which is why I said do what you want. But if you are complaining there are no good options, this is the exacted reaction and it’s entirely sensible if the person has unrealistic standards. Let me ask you this, if a guy told you he …

/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/25 04:44 PM

Sure, but if you’re in a rich environment hunting for unicorn meat and complaining about being hungry, hunters that are in scarce environments are going to point out that you have options and it’s absurd to them that you think they’re not worth your time. Like I said, you can look for perfection all you want, best of luck to you, but if you come around complaining about dating issues this is what you’re going to hear.

Intellectually and emotionally and physically attractive doesn’t say much because those are descriptions of basic standards that everyone looks for. Nobody wants to date an idiot, nobody wants to date someone who is rash, and nobody wants to date someone they find ugly. It’s what you exactly mean by those things where the things get gritty. For all I know, you could be the woman equivalent of the guy who is looking for 10/10 blond chicks who are intelligent and also have their shit together. “Ho…

A human is only capable of so much. Part of being in a relationship is accepting a partner’s flaws if you love them for their other aspects. But if you want to keep looking for a per…

Scratching my head here because I remember seeing women say something along the lines of “there isn’t just a male loneliness epidemic, it’s across both genders”. lol fair enough. On rereading it yeah I see that. I wish straightforwardness was more socially acceptable when it comes to asking people out, I’m not great at flirting especially if I don’t know someone

Is it kind of hopeless to ask people out over People You May Know? <image> I’ve done it a couple of other times and got rejected, both times they were friendly about it so I’m grateful for that.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/25 04:35 AM

I don't mind if someone finds me less attractive than their previous partners, as long as they're committed and they love me. But if they told me they settled for me I wouldn't expect it to last long, and I don't believe they'd actually love me.

I mean what other goal is there? I have no strategy. I am really just kind of hoping to bump into them someday. Maybe at the gym, maybe at a cafe, maybe on a walk, maybe at work, maybe at a bar.

I live in the rural Midwest. Mine is little below average in price, the low end shit boxes are about $40-60k. $70k is iffy, fixer upper. Mine is actually pretty good for the price, even has a metal roof and three bedrooms. It’s interesting you mention that we aren’t shown how to talk about it or what to do about it. Some boys do learn about it, through their dads, moms, their friends. You can’t deny there’s a huge stigma about it. And no, I don’t think any virgins go around announcing they’re a virgin, but they might be picked up by being a bit uneasy in sexual topics that naturally come up, or not having a sexual sense of humor. They also are likely to be shy around women. This gets more noticeable the older you are, because the less virgins there are at your age. And, not to mention, if you’re on a date and they ask you questions that, even if you don’t directly say it, cou…

The op doesn’t say the dad said she can’t so he hasn’t done anything wrong. How he handles it is one of the many paradox-situation a parent has to resolve their own way. If she directly asked to come along, I would say “Sure!” but if I wanted this to be a boys trip, it would feel out of place for me to go up and ask just because of how she might’ve looked at me. Then again I’m not a dad.

The top comment and the OP seem innocent. Like asking someone out a one and done, or especially just being like “Do you like X restaurant?” Why is that a problem? Why should that get someone fired? /r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 06:43 AM
1

That’s fair. I’m glad we can agree insults shouldn’t be normalized. It sounds like you aren’t the type of person who would go out of their way to insult someone if they didnt deserve it. And that’s really all I’m saying here.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 03:16 AM
1

Being called a fat feminazi online where nobody knows you is probably not comparable to being accused of being a creep in some pockets of your local social community.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 03:09 AM

What experiences? The point of this debate is to get to the bottom of what constitutes as creepy. Obviously you can’t expect social change from Reddit arguments. So the only thing I’m trying to do here is 1. Make people realize that “creep” is a huge accusation. And 2. Asking people out is a pretty normal thing, especially when young and dumb and looking for love. = 3. Do you gotta be so cruel about it, if it’s innocent? Don’t call people creeps if they’re not actually creeps. That’s it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 03:07 AM

It sounds like a bigger inconvenience to call someone a creep and make a big deal about it instead of saying something to deflect or straight out reject. I really don’t see how being kind to people in the moment of ANY social situation is an inconvenience.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 03:04 AM

Nobody is owed anything. But it doesn’t cost anybody anything to be a decent human being instead of being rude about it. I’ve rejected women before, and I’ve always told them kindly I wasn’t interested. And yes, sometimes women can be very aggressive to that response too. It really doesnt cost me anything. If a girl was behaving in a way that I was afraid of rejecting her, I’d be more stern about it and avoidant, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to make her feel insecure about asking me out, beca…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:58 AM

All men should pay the price for the actions of a few dickheads on this sub?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:53 AM

Both
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:51 AM

Couldn’t there be something in between a polite rejection and being absolutely rude about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:51 AM

I guess I can understand that. One question though: should we normalize that as socially acceptable? Or should we call it out? I mean, asking someone out is 100% just part of the natural order, especially when you’re young. I wouldn’t advocate for death threats to telemarketers becoming socially acceptable, much less calling dudes asking girls out sociopathic predators.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:49 AM

So is it socially acceptable for a woman, who feels uncomfortable at a guy merely looking in her general direction, to label him a creep? And before you say this doesn’t happen, you can see plenty of that crap on TikTok from gym girls. Or how about women making exaggerated stories of men asking them out to their girlfriends, to make the man have a way worse light than he deserved? Should that be allowed to be normalized or should that be called out? Because that’s a thing too, for a lot of girls…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:45 AM

I can say in my early twenties i slipped my phone number to a few cashiers and drive thru employees. It seemed innocent, I didn’t pressure, I didn’t flirt then and there, I just slipped my number. I never got negative feedback from it, one girl laughed about it but not in a laugh-in-your-face kind of way. I just never received calls back, which is fair. I wouldn’t bother someone if they’re clearly avoiding me. But i will try to make eye contact or small talk if i see someone attractive. Sometime…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:37 AM

Yeah, I agree all of those things are creep behavior. The thing that makes them a creep is they clearly don’t have respect for you or your comfort and go out of their way to trap you in their vision. Now that we agree “creep” is a serious accusation, do we agree it shouldn’t be used lightly or for anything less than an obvious creep? If so we’re on the same page and I wish more women would be mindful of how they used the word
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:31 AM
4

That’s… not helpful. What entails being creepy? I said in my post 1. Being inappropriate (touching, asking in sketchy areas, harassing). And 2. To keep perusing after the rejection. Would you agree those are what “being creepy” means? Or are there more situations?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:26 AM

Well what is more likely to upset them? “No thanks” and walk away and going about your day? Or making them feel like crap about it and telling everyone they’re a creep (again, if they didn’t do anything beyond just asking you out and handling the rejection fine)?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:23 AM

The alternative is for ladies to understand where the guy is coming from and kindly reject him without calling him a creep(whether to him or to her friends), laughing in his face, or making a big deal about it? I don’t think lesser of women if I turn them down. I know they’re thirsty to feel love when they are asking, I’d never treat someone like crap for desiring that if they’re respectful with their proposal.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/25 02:21 AM

Sure. A dark alley, when someone is shopping or clearly running errands, in a parking lot, etc Someone out for a walk? At the gym when they’re on the treadmill by you (if you were there first) or finished with their workouts? At a pub or bar, of course? At a cafe? I think those are likely to be a hit or miss. If someone misjudges the body language, I think it could make the person annoying for a bit, but not a creep. The standards of creep that I set were if they were doing inappropriate things,…

Yeah. I live in a place where a basic house price is $70-100k and gas is $2.99-3.60 population 7000, not a meth town but just far away from the big cities. Even still, you need a full time job to afford $800 a month rent, a car, and other expenses. Not to mention full time jobs offer insurance. One broken leg without insurance and you’re in debt for a long while.

Kindness is seen as a weaker more feminine trait, thus less attractive. Roughness is seen as more masculine and attractive. There's of course a spectrum, but it's obvious which side that's leaned on more leads to toxic people.

I’m amazed by how much stereotyping you can fit into two paragraphs. I’ve met the most immature pieces of crap who’ve gotten a degree but couldn’t find a job and struggle balancing their debt, and very stable blue collar folks who get more than enough income to raise a family, afford a house, and even go on vacation annually. And their job isn’t “in the mines”. Electricians, plumbers, factory workers, farmers. Just to name a few off the top of my head. Going to college doesn’t say much about a p…

The narrative has been “if they’re a virgin this late in life, there must be something seriously wrong with him” if you read the above comments. The reasons assumed have been actual red flags and issues, nothing coming near “shyness”. Low self esteem was mentioned, which isn’t the same as being shy.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 08:04 PM

Shyness can be and often is something that goes away as you get older.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 07:59 PM

Shyness isn’t something wrong with them. It doesn’t even have to be completely debilitating for them to end up as a virgin in their adulthood.

If you got any askwomen page, you'll see 99% of them say it isn't an issue. I wonder why this page alone has such an issue with it in contrast. It's also funny to me how the common rhetoric on this page is "Men should be above average, otherwise they add nothing to the relationship", and it seems agreeable among women here to have high standards. And then they wonder why there are adult virgin men? You'd have to be blind to the years of debate here, which all people have come to agree to --that …

If it makes you feel any better, I don’t think you’re a terrible person, I just think the idea of leaving a life partner for the simple reason that things are not as exciting as before is a tragedy and misunderstanding of what love is, which explains why we would guilty for doing that if we did that. And if you don't know if you're an incel, you're probably not an incel. Yes, mental health issues can make dating hard, make the world seem like a dark place. Could I give some advice that helped me? Take some time out of your day, whenever you can, to go for a nice long walk. Do this regularly. Reflect …

/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 06:34 AM

Would you stop giving overconfident rowdy guys a chance if you had an experience or two of them being toxic in some way? I get the turnoff of insecure, but I believe some people overthink it. Shyness isn't insecurity, a truly insecure guy you could tell from talking to them for a bit. I'm just saying it makes no sense to think 'all short guys' or 'all shy guys' are bad because of some bad experience with one.

Am I wrong here, or do women see a man who might appear to be that stable type and are repulsed because they believe it’s too good to be true? I’ve heard women say that they choose a rowdy carefree man because “at least he doesn’t hide his flaws/try too hard” or some other excuse like “at least he isn’t boring” or “maybe being with toxic men is what I’m used to” Just curious how common it is that women may assume a man is lying about his stability or good personality and choose not to give them …

It isn't about my integrity. It's about her own. She has to have the integrity to know herself, why she had sex with as many people as she did. In other words, she's the judge of her own character. A rational person wouldn't do something irrational, like sleep with all 1000 men in their inbox to find out who's worth dating 🙄 Therefore no man is going to judge her for profiling through a couple dozen men, perhaps going on dates with a few of them, whatever she needs to find a suitor. The argument men here are insisting is that actually, no, men do not. The argument here is that men have no choices, and merely get stuck with the 1 woman who will have them because women do all the work filtering for them. Men do not go after the first woman who gives them attention, we too have to filter through. Also, both parties have to filter for themselves. The woman has to want that man, and the man has to want that woman. Right? And it is much better to be more aggressive and filter ear…

Any cake that is not a long term match cake is damaging to us, according to you men. It wasn't ever denied. It was just emphasized the importance of personality. Both are important, whichever is more important more likely depends on the woman/man. I myself am a pretty visual man so I would say attraction is slightly more important than personality, but this isn't true for everyone, and that isn't to say I don't care about a woman's personality if she's attractive. Again, both are important.

Yeah, that's where it crosses the line. When they treat you like a creep instead of saying "no thank you". Granted, every girl that rejected me were nice about it so far, so I'm grateful for that. I think you’re arguing against the wrong premise. From what I understand, the experiment was to prove the argument not that women have an easier time getting matches, but to prove women have an easier time getting GOOD matches. The entire rhetoric was something along the lines of, a man with a good paying job, is attractive, is respectful, and wants to date. The guy who ran the experiment found 7 of those matches in less than 24 hours.

Stability usually is routine based, planning ahead, being conservative in their spending, eating healthy, and not as risk taking. A stable man will probably also be introspective and enjoy nuanced topics like self improvement and mental health awareness. All of this might make them a bit boring, even if they do occasionally go out of their way to have fun. If that’s not compatible with you, you’re more likely to end up with a man who isn’t very mature.

Being resentful is a choice and it’s nobody’s fault but their own. Some people are dicks, and everyone experiences harsh criticism. Besides, isn’t this just a carrot on a stick kind of thing? “If you want a girl like her, you’re gonna have to lose some pounds.” It gives incentive, ambition. Don't feel bad about believing in something or wearing what you'd like. People will probably be off-put if you're too flashy about things they aren't very interested in so my advice would be to try and relate to others more while balancing that out with who you are (astrology+vintage fashion)

Ah, so to your first point, there should be some implication that the girl thinks you're hot before approaching? Maybe even if it's some subtle thing that you might be reading into, that's an appropriate reason to take the risk and make small talk? (e.g. if a girl has seemed to been following you around the gym and it could be coincidental, it wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to her if you run into her while she's leaving - but if it's just because you see a girl from afar who's attractive, don't …

Yeah, I'm going to go out to the bar tomorrow for Halloween. I don't expect to pick up a girl, I'll probably just try to politely butt into groups. But if I do end up talking to a single girl, I might ask her to dance to avoid showing too much social awkwardness haha. Thanks for the tips!

Helpful. I would say I'm good at showing interest in others and asking questions to keep a conversation going (sometimes), whether it's enjoyable or not is a hit or miss. I've always just thought to ask the questions I genuinely was interested in knowing the answer to and might make the conversation more interesting (from my perspective). Do you have to be a 10/10 conversationalist to have luck in dating? If your aim is 7/10 women or higher? I can't help but think most people don't realistically…

What are good social skills and how do you develop them? I feel like I understand the basics but apparently I do not impress the ladies. Only a few male friends, ladies like me as friends but never romantic. And I am pretty sure I’m at least 6/10 physically, if not more

Something tells me you haven't experienced a 'first time' yet. It's like walking into the engine of a train and expecting to know how to operate it on the spot. You'd want to let them know you're inexperienced, or else they're sure to find out the moment you and her are alone in the room together.

I'm trying to get my social skills better, it's difficult in this redneck town I live in where 80% of guys are typical right-wing hicks who are competitive and have a distasteful sense of humor, and not to mention the population is literally 7000.

I didn't see anything about the attraction being only physical.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 05:38 PM

I wasn't? Who said anything about wanting to "fuck someone's privates"? By attraction I thought it was already implied they have feelings. Not to mention, a single person who is physically attracted to another who they enjoy spending time with? It's far fetched to believe that wouldn't develop into feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 05:36 PM

It isn’t about entitlement, because the person doesn’t have to act on it to have the feelings. Having an immense crush on someone and seeing them going home with someone else or loving someone else more naturally stings.

What if your hobbies are exercising and writing? Both are pretty solitary hobbies. What is inherently wrong with solitary hobbies anyway? It’s best to have hobbies for time apart, to keep one an individual. Which is why many married men end up falling into mechanic/wood working hobbies, as an escape from the family time. Same with women and knitting, girls night out, whatever. You can have solitary hobbies that interest you while also spending time with your family, and taking your wife places y…

/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 01:01 AM

It doesn’t seem like having a lot of dating experience is the common denominator for emotional maturity, considering many people with prior dating experience are still immature and there are plenty of mature that have little to no dating experience.

Is it still a red flag if you met a guy your age that is a virgin, but he wasn't extremely weird, awkward, or unkempt? Maybe he is shy around the ladies though. I guess I'd have to ask you why it is a red flag for you. The average man does not have as many relationship opportunities as the average woman does, it's entirely possible for a man to get preoccupied with life and not ever bump into that opportunity. I don't know how you got 'abusive or untenable' from 'small personality disagreements'.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 05:19 PM
3

I don't disagree. I think the 'nice guy' debate is taken out of hand, but I think there's some truth that nurturing men are more often going to be more timid and feminine, and that will repulse a certain chunk of men and women alike because it doesn't seem masculine or appropriate to their gender role, hence resorting in poor social lives for even a nurturing man.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 05:17 PM

I'm not sure what your generation is but I'm in my upper twenties. I think it makes more sense to pay for two houses than to sign a contract with someone you've only known for a year, or to discard them on small personality disagreements before even all of the seasons are through.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 05:12 PM

This doesn't apply to people in rural areas, unfortunately. There are literally no hobby groups and maybe once a year can I afford to go to an event like a concert.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 05:06 PM

Maybe I'm not understanding you. How does one not know the difference between abuse and love? Especially if the person in question recognizes that their parents' behavior was abusive, why would they seek it out again? Why would someone seek out someone that makes them feel uncomfortable in general? People who were abused can still generally tell if someone is being disrespectful or intentionally overstepping boundaries.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 04:00 PM

Where are you getting this information? It seems very assumptive. The fact that you are favoring one type of narcissist over the other is a bit concerning, but I'll try not to read into it much. Sometimes you can do more damage if you use the small chisel. What did you mean by this?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 05:08 AM

Being a good man doesn't hurt your chances with everyone. In fact, it'll inspire your chances of meeting good people over bad people. And, if all else fails, there is a certain integrity and self esteem thing in knowing you evaluated your morals and made responsible decisions, a pleasure quite comparable to sex but lasts the lifetime.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 04:58 AM

"Covert narcissists are often the worst" I don't see why covert narcissists would be worse than extroverted narcissists. But the reason you gave, their being judgmental to others, doesn't seem like a genuine reason to say they're worse, considering what narcissists actually do to people.

So do you think it is true or not? If it is true, it depends on whether the traits women are picky about are worthwhile. If it's about mundane things and less about personality, the effect on the average women could be just as harmful as it is to the average man.

Just hoping to inspire some self reflection about what names you call people. As I see it, it really boils down to 1) You're an empathetic person and you'd try to understand how terrible that word is and should only be used when really meant. or 2) You don't really care what effect such slurs has on a person and you lack empathy.

On top of that, after spending a long time struggling and not getting rewarded for all the effort, these genuinely socially awkward guys sometimes decide to just push the boundaries on purpose even when they understand them because they're so sick and tired of trying so hard and still being side-eyed. So the line between unintentional and intentional becomes a bit blurry, like they usually have trouble, but they're also willing to be wilfully ignorant on occasion when they can get away with it. …

Is there ever a case where the man never becomes sexual or flirty in any direct way, is avoiding disrespecting your boundaries, but his occasional nervousness or his excitement when talking to you (maybe causing him to ramble on or smile at awkward times walking by you, something seemingly weird but nothing threatening) would make you perceive him as a creep?

Men put in a comparable amount of effort into themselves as well: cardio, weight training, emotional independence (since male friends are almost never going to be emotionally support type the way women friends are), the societal expectations of a man (career, social statues, finances), and often having to be the initiator when meeting women they're attracted to. A man who does most of those things usually dates up as well, it's understandable. But generally if a woman is fit and shaves, they'll …

/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 05:34 PM

Well, I still don't understand how you don't think it's wrong for someone to try and tempt someone they know is married. Not denying that 95% of the person in the wrong is the married person, but you don't think there is anything wrong at all with the behavior of the other? It's pure manipulation. On the other hand, at least you're consistent between genders.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 05:29 PM

So it's safe to assume if a man was tempting a married woman to sleep with her, when he knows she's married, and she confides, then the entire blame is put on the married woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 05:21 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 05:17 PM

I honestly don't think it's as common as you think. like i said, assuming you're observing this behavior in adults and not just school kids, find new people to hang around. most people are not that pathetic to call men incels or virgins in real life. And besides, there's no way they will know your sex status unless you tell them.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/24 01:56 AM

90% of men are invisible 90% of the time. Male virgins maybe ridiculed <10% of the time unless you're talking to people who are still in high school.

I simply don't believe this. Not to the extreme of what you said. I can't imagine someone, unless they had serious problems of their own, who would fixate on someone's sex life like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/24 10:34 PM
1

Man, I myself have a different experience with the women I meet in my life. And I work in a factory, where you'd half expect people to be toxic like that. Yeah I've heard 'virgin' used as a slur, but never anyone who'd actually berate anyone like that. I tend to just keep my sexual status to myself, and just don't appear desperate on the outside, so there's no way of anyone knowing my sex life until the moment we become intimate, by that point it doesn't matter much.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/24 10:24 PM

If women are being indoctrinated and more and more women do this, then men absolutely have a problem with it. Because there isnt enough good women around anymore, and if they want to procreate, they have to settle with these hoes.
