Yes, this. If a man I’m dating won’t have period sex or is even the slightly bit squeamish about it, he’s cut off. It’s that important to me

The guy I'm dating now takes me on such fun dates that I actually look forward to them. The first few restaurant dates were at really nice places with cool food and drinks. After that we did a cooking class, a private dance lesson (I always talked about this), Christmas light show, kayaking, museums, mini golf. This past weekend he took me to dinner at a moderately famous place with a 4-course meal... it was beautiful. With my ex it was like one pathetic/underwhelmingly boring chain restaurant a…

I stopped reading after the fourth sentence because it was too embarrassing. Hold the door open for a man. I think I'd rather lick broken glass.

I'm not that much older than you (25) but if I could go back 5 years, I would have de-prioritized men and prioritized HV female friendships. Don't date/continue to date anyone you don't see yourself marrying. I knew the guy I was dating at 20 wasn't "the one", but I continued to waste my time because I liked "being wanted". Gross. Choose yourself.

Divorce. Now. She is 22 years old with 3 children under the age of two and according to him, she sits on her ass all day? Horrific. I want to have children and stay at home to raise them when they're young for at least a few years, but stories like this really scare me. It's why it's so important to continuously vet, have your own savings, never EVER be scared of divorce, and have a strong escape route should anything go as terrible as this.

I will never date another man with less education/lower income ever again. My current boyfriend makes more than me and is smart and well-educated (without being arrogant/obnoxious about it). It is a world of difference to be with a man like this, rather than losers who are insecure about and offended by your accomplishments

Back in my pickme days, I had a loser ex who would like his ex-girlfriend's thong bikini pictures. I was literally in denial trying to convince myself it was crazy to care about this/bring it up to him.

So cheap and pathetic. There's no way he's as low maintenance as he claims. Also - get a weekly housekeeper! If I was her I'd tell him- I'll quit the job to take care of the house full-time OR we can get a housekeeper. If he wasn't married to her, he'd either be doing this stuff on his own or paying someone else to do it. Yet, he thinks a wife entitles him to a servant. Oh my god it's so embarrassing. Marrying a man like this is actually one of my biggest fears.

He worded it as "ASKED her to pay for" ... not even like she took out her wallet to offer to pay and he allowed her to. He, on a third date, said to his date "Can you pay for your/our sandwich/sandwiches?" That's so incredibly rude, she's a smart girl.

I just read that book and loved it! The section on fertility was so important as well.

I have a friend whose boyfriend will only have sex with her if she's on her period if SHE goes and buys condoms (they normally don't use them). She told us "he gets grossed out by the blood." Such a loser. I would never date a guy who wasn't 100% down/comfortable/ok with sex on my period (if I was in the mood for it).

FDS and this community has changed my life for the better. I've been dating men since high school (for 10 years now) and the amount of time I've spent in physically, sexually, or mentally abusive relationships is so sad. I'm so happy I'm able to see the light now and go forward with the rest of my life with myself and my priorities at the center and only allowing the best, truly HV men anywhere near my heart.

Love this so much. The only thing I disagree with is "it doesn't have to be your income level." - I wouldn't date a man (ever again....) who wasn't at or above mine. I'm intelligent, ambitious, financially secure and make well over 6 figures in my mid-twenties - at this point, what good is a boyfriend/husband who doesn't provide?

Exactly and I 100% agree! Plus I live in a high COL area- 900k is really not that much here, rather standard.

When I was dating my ex, I was casually looking at houses on Zillow one day. I saw a house in my home neighborhood that was for sale for ~900k and commented on how nice it was. My then boyfriend immediately snapped back with “You don’t need a 900k house.” .... Nah I more than deserve it, you just would never be able to afford to put me in a 900k house. Such a loser lol

How do we handle it when they have trouble getting hard because of an actual, serious medical issue (not porn addiction)? My current bf (we've only been dating a few months) had trouble getting hard in the beginning of our relationship (I was very concerned at first). He booked a doctor's appointment about this issue and the doctor found something on his bloodwork (don't want to disclose too much personal info) and prescribed a few medications to treat it. Sometimes the medications work- but som…

I’m not sure why I forgot to post about this earlier, but for Valentine’s Day, the guy I’m dating bought me the set of pink roses (my favorite color that last a year (the $300 ones). I wasn’t even officially his girlfriend yet (he asked me a week later). I love them so much 😭

I am 25 and also never have had one. I’m just commenting here to let you know it’s ok and probably way more normal than you think! :) I read a helpful book recently called Come as You Are by Emily Nagonski - it went into the science/psychology behind numerous sexual issues and gives actual strategies to work on your orgasm. I highly recommend it!

A 38 year old man working "very hard" and for that- 50k? Seriously? I was making more than that at age 21... Maybe they're in a lower cost-of-living area but still..... what even? I refuse to date a man who isn't earning 6 figures and no longer feel bad about that...

I have a financial advisor who manages a portfolio for me so that's mostly ETFs, mutual funds, etc. Mid-2020, I started doing a very small amount of individual stocks - I bought CHWY at around ~$80, Draftkings (DKNG) at ~ $50, SNAP at around ~$45. I'm up over 10% on all of stocks on my own and it's only been a few months - success!

I'm doing a galentine's with my two friends on Saturday at my apartment ... I'm making cupcakes for them so maybe I'll give him the leftovers? If there are any? Would rather spoil my friends :) Also, I ordered my bestfriend flowers for delivery - she deserves them :)

For Christmas, a guy that I had been dating for about 2 months/not officially in a relationship yet (my decision to not be in a relationship by that point - I want to take things slow because I am recovering from my past, etc.), got me a gift and gave it to me after taking me to see Christmas lights and out to dinner. I was so pleasantly surprised by this gift. It was a really nice like $70 candle in beautiful packaging - so appropriate for how long we were seeing each other. I've been in longer…

I think there's a line. The guy I'm dating cooked me dinner the other night at his apartment after I had a long day at work. The old me would have brought wine, thanked him 500 times, cleaned all the dishes, wiped down the tables, put everything away, etc. - I would have stretched myself thin and gone above and beyond - and then I would have really been the one doing the nice gesture. What I did was: compliment him on the meal, say thank you, and that's it. HE cleaned up the dishes and the table…

I love Pilates, dance, reading, crafts, cooking, skincare/beauty/nails (not sure if the last is exactly a hobby- but I’ll count it!). My LVM ex’s hobbies were the same 2 video games and watching the same children’s movies/superhero movies over and over again lmaoooo. The guy I’m seeing now is into very similar things I’m into (not the girly ones like beauty and Pilates)- but he’s very intelligent and is into reading, history/trivia, crossword puzzles. And he doesn’t play video games or watch por…

These are going to be embarrassing.... but: 1. My ex asked me if I would go on the birth control pill after the SECOND time we had sex .... according to him the condom made it difficult for him to ejaculate. 2. He always seemed upset that I had other things going on/didn’t have time to hang out with him everyday? His ex-girlfriend didn’t have friends/a job- while I have a lot of friends and a demanding job... so I made it clear I wasn’t going to act like that. He wanted me to be so needy and dep…

I’m 25F- for some reason, when I see engagement/marriage/baby pics from people I went to HS with- I simply don’t care at all. I love my single life and still have so much to do before I get married, etc. I’m working on my self, my friendships, my career, and my bank account.

The guy I’ve been dating for 3-4 months (it’s very new) got me a Jo Malone candle for Christmas. Not a cheap one at all- it’s a $70 candle with beautiful packaging. He remembered I said rose is my favorite scent and how I always light a candle while reading in bed. I didn’t even get him a Christmas gift because us dating is so new (oh well!)

Congratulations! I had a great year at work and got the highest performance rating possible again! This will come with a pay increase and a great bonus (more than double my typical bonus) in early March :) Without the weight/stress of a LVM, I feel so motivated to accomplish my work and personal goals.

I can't understand it either. I would NEVER unless I was married. I live with my female roommate who also happens to be my bestfriend- and I love it. I have someone to watch reality tv with, do crafts with, cook with, etc. So peaceful and fun. I don't have to deal with her making a mess everywhere and expecting me to do all of the household chores for 0 compensation besides stress. I've also lived by myself before and could afford it now, but I like my living situation.

I used to (after being abused/treated like shit by men) feel bad when I would reject an ex for sex, when I would breakup with a guy, etc. My self-worth/esteem was so low (because of these men). A lot of work on myself and I feel like I'm making so much progress on this. I no longer feel bad about anything as it relates to men lol

The guy I'm seeing right now is 25 and he works full-time, but is attending law school next year. Currently he has a good job and everything is going well... but it makes me a little concerned if we keep dating and he's in school

The advice written here is all so smart and spot-on. I will add one thing - read a lot of books. And prioritize books that you can learn something from - whether it be career-related or just interests. It will just add to all your knowledge you'll be gaining in life during this time.
