I started therapy 6 weeks ago after it become apparent that my soon to be ex wife and I were getting a divorce. It’s been a big help. My therapist actually told me to approach people more and put myself out there to get ready to get back to dating. It’s been slow going but if I wasn’t seeing a therapist I’d be in a much worse place. Just do it. My advice is to call 3 and make appointments with 2 or 3 as you might get a better match with one or another. It can take time to get appointments so you…

Thanks for taking the time to give me feedback. I really appreciate. You said a lot of helpful things. I’m doing my best to piece together what the new normal is. There are good days and bad. Hell there are good mornings, bad nights, and vice versa. I take comfort in knowing that I know what I want now and what I’m willing to accept in a relationship.

You are doing things on your terms and being honest with them. That is a good thing. They aren’t rejecting you, they are respecting your wish to not be in a relationship. Don’t beat yourself up over it and enjoy your time together.

Regarding my previous relationship: Why did the marriage fail? We both got caught up in our day to day responsibilities and grew apart. We didn’t communicate our needs and avoided difficult or potentially difficult conversations. She also had some mental health issues related to anxiety and depression. She basically told me she had not been happy for a long time and that she believed our relationship was the reason for it. I’m not without fault though. I avoided difficult conversations too. When…

Yes the therapist said that men typically have a harder time making friends as they get older. They get more involved in families, children, and careers while their social networks built during college and their 20s start to drift apart.

Yeah I’ve been reluctant to meet up with them as I don’t want to risk complicating the separation and divorce process but once some things become official I’m def going to try and meet up with them.

Yeah that’s the guy but I think it was a different video. I was watching YouTube before going to sleep and the notification of a new match popped up. I said screw it and just gave it a shot. Basically I was like “she’s 63 miles away. What do I have to lose?” I just kept going with it getting more and more rediculous. “Netflix is making a movie about my life.” “ it’s getting a lot of Oscar buzz”

Live on the inside makes a man hard. It’s tough on the outside. I’m trying my best to stay positive. I got a great box from an appliance store and a great spot under the bridge. Living under the bridge is nice because you don’t have to worry about getting rained on. “

Thanks, these days progress for me is getting through each day. Going to work, walking the dog, excercise, eat right, cook instead of take out, don’t drink too much. As for PUA stuff it’s kind of on the back burner. It’s simmering but I’ve got a lot of other stuff to deal with before I can dive in. I’ll try to chat up more people in daily life and make new connections with people. We’ll see how it goes.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
