Thanks for replying. I would not blame her if she had decided to leave me after the emotional affair. I am truly curious, what kind of narcissistic tendencies and red flags am I giving off? I’m not saying there are none and you are wrong, but I would love some insight.

I agree something needs to change. Most likely both of us need to change.

At first glance I don't think my wife suffers from NPD. But I will look into this some more. Thanks for pointing me towards some resources. I truly appreciate it.

I'm trying my best to hold it together. Some days are harder than others.

I would love to do more counseling but she is of the opinion that I am the source of everything which is wrong in the relationship and that a counselor will not help. We did try a few counseling sessions in the past. Now I am doing my own counseling.

You don’t believe in second chances? The emotional affair was years ago. Or do you consider looking at photos of random girls on instagram as being unfaithful.

Egg shells are definitely in the picture. My hope is that it will improve over time. But maybe not.

Interesting. I guess you don’t think it’s worth fighting for.

I’ve read both those books recently, great reads. I don’t want to give up. I’m glad someone else who is on the outside looking in feels the same way.

The emotional affair was years before we got married. I came clean to my wife about it and it was 6 years ago. I make significantly more than her. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
