TRP rules and principles are followed almost to the letter. BP stuff is very middle class. The higher up you go the more traditional it gets. Both men and women are expected to follow their gender roles. You will be shit tested more, men will shit test other men on their adherence to the rules. For example; you can expect another man to question you on your travelling habits; the upper classes travel a lot and consider themselves world citizens. There is less tolerance for different sexual ident…

BTW this stuff applies only to upper middle class. I've never interacted with the true upper class millionaires and richer so I don't know (all) the rules. Billionaires are also a different and stranger group of people that don't always follow homogenous rules. For example; Bill Gates is a billionaire but he is not upper class. Since he is a selfmade billionaire his background is clearly middle/upper middle class. Donald Trump is another billionaire who in reality is obviously lower class. The u…

If you are around college age you can get away with drinking beer. Never from cans, cans are for the lower class, upper class drinks bottles. When you are older you drink wine. And eat cheese. You don't smear things on toast, better is to have a cheese platter. Fast food is for the poor. You don't eat anything from the frozen aisle, fish sticks are for lower class. Eat fresh produce that you cook, have a cook, and a cleaner, and your future kids will be managed by an au pair. Watch upper class s…

Training Biggest rule is that your body will adapt to its environment. So if you are a couch potato doing nothing you'll look like it. If you lift wimpy little weights that are really easy nothing will happen. If you want to grow muscle you'll have to make your muscles push or pull something that is difficult. In the fitness world this is called hitting failure; you lift a weight until you can't. The moment you can't anymore is when you 'hit failure'. Your muscles will grow the fastest if you do…

That is a good list. And I have to admit I am also speaking from casual watching of ted talks. I have not made a classification and run the numbers. That said I don't find the list immediately proving or disproving of my original statement. There are definitely a lot of women talking about other subjects. At the same time all I have to do is go to page two to find these talks in rapid succession: Sarah Barmak: The uncomplicated truth about women's sexuality, Laura Bates: Everyday sexism, Thea Ho…

That DNA gives instructions to our bodies on how to grow and develop as we age. This is a simplification of what actually happens. A more scientifically accurate description (but still simplified) is that the DNA determines development of certain organs and structures in the body that in turn create hormones. It is those hormones that are ultimately the determining factor in driving your bodies phenotype. The problem occurs when the DNA drives the creation of a brain of one gender but due to mis…

I have no idea what Bill Nye has to say on the subject but in the scientific literature they talk about congenital adrenal hyperplasia, persistent müllerian duct syndrome, androgen insensitivity syndrome, and 5-alpha-reductase deficiency, among others. Gender is determined by hormones during development in the womb, and sometimes things go wrong.

Where do you get the idea that I am jaded? I don't mind at all that it's mostly men giving interesting talks. It seems to me that you are the one that brings emotions into this. In the real world the men are doing most of the work and most of the innovation, and the women spend more time on relationships and child-rearing. It's biology and I'm fine with it. I don't blame women for doing what they are biologically built to do.

It certainly looks like a blow out to me. And I get the feeling that the TED platform is trying hard to get women to have talks because there is a special TEDwomen event. I haven't seen a corresponding TEDmen event.

The original post and the comment by AnyDoughnut both voice an opinion about women in general. My comment provides actual evidence that backs up their observations. And if you read carefully you would find that both my comment and resnine's comment were talking about statistics and thus 'equality'. The only one here who is not adding anything of value is you.

There are thousands of TED talks. Just because there are 'plenty' interesting talks done by women doesn't mean that there is gender equality. It isn't anywhere near a 50/50 split.

I don't think you understand what these scientists are doing or what I am saying. menslaws.com obviously doesn't understand what these scientists are doing. So to be clear: It is biological fact that the mind and body develop independently of each other. Most people are born with a mind and body that match in terms of their gender. They have a male mind and a male body or they have a female mind and a female body. However, a small minority are born where the two do not match. It is possible to c…

Kids have minds that are male or female from birth, just see the side bar for that documentary, but their bodies, minus genitalia, don't start turning male or female until puberty. So if you are a person with a male mind but a female body or vice versa it makes sense to start the transition before pubert…

You appear to have a wrong understanding of what it means for something to be genetic. The fundamental rule is that you must survive and reproduce. All of your behaviours, including your moral behaviours, are derived and subservient to that fundamental rule. So generally you don't want to kill people, but you can totally do it if the more fundamental rule of surviving and reproducing is threatened. a child's underdeveloped ability to assess danger makes them the perfect candidate to take risk an…

We do have the desire to conform to culture but that has only a minor effect on the behaviour of people. And that desire is itself also genetic. Effectively, almost all moral behaviour is genetic. Think of a rule like 'thou shalt not kill'. Let's forget the obvious vacuousness of the rule as it stands and instead fill in the blanks with the standard answers. You'll find that this rule is followed because of innate genetic programming, not because of culture. If anyone were to ignore this rule th…

Morals and ethics were put in place to control the behavior of individuals for the benefit of society. I'm an atheist. And I think many morals and ethics are genetic in origin. A lot of these rules have very real survival benefits. Religion just co-opted them and twisted them. Religion is very good at making you believe they are the source of things, be it morality, community, good fortune or meaning of life.

This is where stoic philosophy gets pretty nuanced. Stoicism says that you should not let your happiness be dependent on your ability to satisfy desires. But that doesn't mean you are not allowed to satisfy desires if you so choose. Stoicism also teaches that external outcomes are not under your control. You for example might fail to accomplish your goal of perpetuating your family line. And you wanting to have offspring is just as much a desire as someone wanting to pork HB9s.
/r/TheRedPill26/02/19 03:40 PM
2

Don't tell me what is and is not stoic. I've read the discourses and the meditations and the Enchiridion twice. There is nothing in stoicism that says you must have offspring. However it does clearly say; "Follow where reason leads".

You know what you want and that gives you purpose. This is great and you should strive for what you want. But this is still a personal preference, you cannot from this now say; all people should live this way, or; this is the only good and right way to live.

I think its amazing that you know this much about your families history, and I believe this makes you an outlier. And if this family line is important to you and gives you meaning in life then all the more power to you. However, I believe that what I choose to do with my life is up to me. When my ancestors decided to reproduce they did this knowing full well that the line could end one day. What they did in their life was up to them. I owe them nothing.

I'm 36. I feel fine. Those friends and colleagues getting married and having kids all find the thing horrible. Take a look at the childfree and antinatalism communities if you want some stories about how it can also turn out. Also note that you have the choice of getting married, you don't have the choice of living happily ever after. Many marriages fail and those that stay together don't have to be happy. And then of course it's perfectly possible to have a life long LTR without marriage. I nev…

I feel that spreading my genes around is a bad deal for me. Evolution works at the genes level, my genes want to continue to survive and they are using me and manipulating me into behaviours that suit them. Basically, I am their temporary tool to be used and discarded. The discarding part will happen especially fast when a newer younger copy (i.e. a child) comes on the scene. So I feel that for me to get the most out of my life is to actively resist my genes manipulation and prevent reproduction…

Yeah this was my conclusion as well. And I think my original reply "oh, thats so cute" was right on the money. I was re-evaluating my interactions with her and this was one that I wasn't entirely sure I had interpreted properly. It felt a little like she wanted to find out if I saw her as a future mom. When she got back she tested me a bunch more. Pushed me into a beta provider role and withheld sex. I shut her down hard and she is now no longer interested in me. I'm going over everything we did to see which things I fucked up on and what lessons I can learn. But it is possible I'm misreading some things. Edit: actually I think they may have been comfort tests rather than shit test. I'm not too clear on that part of TRP since I'm new to this. For context; she left for three weeks and in those …

If you have the time you should read up on the whole story. There is an invasion by a huge empire of smaller cities who put aside their difference to fight a common enemy. There are heros, traitors, prophesies, defiant last stands and huge battles fought against all odds. And it ends with the empire being defeated and driven out. The whole thing is so awesome its hard to believe its history and not myth.

It is said that when Alexander the Great was handing King Darius III of Persia his ass, Darius lamented, "My men have become women and my women have become men." In other words, they embraced androgyny - and this is true, if you examine how their customs changed over time. Wow so much historical revisionism. Let's see; it wasn't Darius III who said this it was Xerxes I, and it wasn't said in reference to Alexander the Great but against the naval might of Athens, and it wasn't a comment on cultur…

I guess I'm afraid of unnecessarily dropping a plate over it. It's not that I would be upset about losing one or two but if I can help it I'd rather keep having sex. Basically this pattern is running in my mind: Her: (finds gift), where did you get that? Me: Oh it was a gift from a friend Her: Who? Me: Becky, a good friend of mine. Her: Are you seeing other people? And now we are talking about exclusivity. Ugh. Admittedly, I'm probably overthinking things.
/r/askTRP20/02/19 02:42 PM

I don't know what behaviour would constitute 'implying exclusivity'. But I'm definitely not telling any girl any time soon that we are exclusive. I also don't bring up that conversation, I don't call them my girlfriend, I don't even tell them I love them. The heart-kiss smiley is as far as I've gone so far.

Option 1: Her: I love you You: I know Option 2: Her: I love you You: You are so sweet Option 3: Her: I love you You: (smile) Her: not gonna say it back? You: No. (look at her with a big teasing smile on your face) Her: (some kind of kino, poking at you) You: (grab her and kiss her), I love you too You also win if you withhold the 'I love you too' for some time. So if she says it and she has to do work for you to say it back that is good too.

Self reflection is good and can help, especially if you are a follower of stoicism. But ultimately it's like sending bullied kids to school counselors pretending that the problem is in their head. There is probably very little wrong with your perception of reality, it is more likely that you feel miserable because your life sucks.
