Probably. Congrats on not having your circumcision be a huge negative in your life. Some of us had to be recirced once we were older. Some of us experience ED with no cause and are still young thanks to being circed.

Yup. Female wrestlers. Just more fire to the drama. And bro, no projection here. I’m gay and proud of it. Though, the fact that you felt the need to call out my ‘projection’ is a good indicator of your own projective issues. But what do I know, it’s not like I’m a psychologist or something.... oh wait.

Again, learning more can be either good or bad. The learning in and of itself has no value judgement attached to it.

A change of of opinion, or indeed a change of anything is neither good, nor bad. That value judgement comes after the change has occurred and is a function of the group that is affected by the change.

Basically, despite what everyone wants to believe, bottoms are generally effeminate. The act itself has meaning. I look at it this way - I have to be a bigger man than most other guys to take a nice cock. I know straight men that would cry like a little girl if they had to even attempt it.

I'm a bottom. I'm not fem in the least. However, sports and cars don't really interest me. I know plenty of straight men that don't like cars or hockey. They just tend to be big D&D, sci-fi, technology geeks.

Being slightly off on years is far different from wrong. Please take a basic logic course and invest in a dictionary. How do they detach it during circumcision? That sounds horrible It's quite literally ripped off. If you've ever seen the head of a circumcised cock, it looks rough and bumpy. Just like some scar tissue. A circumcised cock head is much smoother.

During the first few years of life, the foreskin is stuck to the head of the penis by a membrane (called the synechia). This membrane or connective tissue dissolves naturally – a process that should never be hurried. http://www.kidshealth.org.nz/foreskin-care Stop being willfully ignorant. This whole idea you're supporting just seems completely false. If you aren't willing to research a topic, then don't speak on it.

I worked as a social worker with a kid whose mother was a hoarder and had OCD. My mom didn't have OCD, nor was she a hoarder. But she is Borderline. There were many times I was ripped out of bed at like 2 am because I didn't clean the kitchen "properly". Only to spend the next two hours cleaning like a fiend. Then get up two hours after to go to school. My sisters? Never had to do a chore until I moved out at 18.

Gay guys have it great. They can take long car rides without talking and suddenly the other one asking 'Are you mad at me?' No withholding sex until you figure out what you did wrong. No sitting outside the bathroom while you're trying to take a shit, telling you all the projects he wants you to do this weekend. I can see you've never been in a gay relationship. Actually it would. Any decent defense attorney would have a cognitive psychologist or a biologist on the stand in an instant to tear apart someones estimate of BAC based on BMI. You are wrong. Good day.
/r/MensRights14/07/15 07:45 PM
3

No. It can't. Not with any validity.
/r/MensRights14/07/15 04:16 AM
3

Yes, you could use BAC (and no, BAC is not determined at all by BMI - it's completely invalid as there are far too many confounding variables, additionally using estimates as to how many drinks a person may have consumed is scientifically invalid and wouldn't stand up in a court of law). But, how many people have BAC readers with them? How can you determine some ones BAC the day after the event? The week after? The month after?
/r/MensRights13/07/15 08:03 PM

Of course there is. When did person B have their first drink? Do they metabolize faster? Did they actually have 10 drinks or part of 10 drinks? Were the drinks of the same concentration (10 beers is not the same as 10 shots).
/r/MensRights13/07/15 08:01 PM

And? Different individuals can metabolize alcohol at different rates. Additionally, without baseline tests you would have no clue as to how ETOH effects each individual.

I'm a psychologist. I remember asking one of my supervisors for a referral to another psychologist and specified that I wanted a male. She looked at me like I was insane and asked "Do you really hate women that much?" Needless to say, it was the only class that I had a low score in during my entire graduate career. Coincidentally, the other male in the class scored just as low as I did while two of the women in the course who only attended about 50% of the class scored A's.

There are no significant medical benefits to removing the foreskin. UTI's can be treated with a short course of antibiotics, STD's are not appreciably reduced more than they would be with a condom. Phimosis (the only medical reason to do it) is fairly rare. Ask any man with a foreskin how easy it is to clean.

Men aren't monogamous by nature. Marriage and monogamy are artificial structures with the main purpose of procreation and child-raising which, admittedly, has worked out pretty well for our species up until this point. Patently untrue. Oxytocine and dopamine combine for a powerful effect that leads to pair bonding not just in humans but also in several other species. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monogamy_in_animals

Sadly, there is no good way to protect against regret sex accusations. This is when two people willingly have sex, and one party regrets it the next day (because they already have a partner, didn't really enjoy the sex, feel like they committed a sin, etc.). Especially since the current feminist narrative is that regret sex means it was rape and that consent can be removed after the fact. My advice: tell him to chose his partners carefully, always use protection, ask very specifically if they wa…

Clearly her interpretations can't be trusted. This is from the sixth text down: But it would have been nice to see you Emma interprets this as a "guilt trip". Thousands of cannabis users wonder the same thing. Once the precedent was set that an employer could monitor what you ingest off the clock with blood, urine, and hair samples - any thing becomes fair game.

Remember, you're talking about western society where it's completely okay for your employer to monitor your off duty activities with urine, blood, and hair tests. Where you can be fired for making a comment on a social media site if your employer doesn't approve of what you said. You are owned by your employer.

Yes, Medicare will cover a vasectomy (one time cost), and they will cover testosterone replacement (if needed). However, with women not only will medicare cover a tubal ligation, but also ongoing hormonal birth control (even if it isn't being used as HRT) - an ongoing cost directly related to improving their sexual health. Why wouldn't it be an apt comparison? One sex is receiving services to improve their sexual health, and another is not. One sex has the full gamut services needed for their se…

It's only a "confusion" because "Gender Studies" programs refuse to accept that biology directly correlates to gender. Gender is not an 'identity' it is a biological construct. There are hundreds of peer reviewed studies that point to this. It was several years ago. I raised a huge stink over it - hence why my grade got shifted to a C+ - after a bunch of extra work. I was in a graduate class. One of the requirements of this class was that you could not miss more than 3 classes - if you did, you failed. It didn't matter if it was medical reasons or not. I missed 2. The other male in the class missed 2. One of the women missed 9 (out of 16). I read every chapter of the assigned books, and did a monumental amount of additional reading. The woman who missed 9 classes admitted to reading half of the assigned reading just before class, and admitting to making bul…

1) A misunderstanding of statistics and research. Or, just an outright ignorance of what was said in the research. For instance the Labor Boards report on the pay gap mentions two statistics: the overall average (where there does appear to be a wage gap), and a corrected average (where things like job choice, hours work, etc. are analyzed). The first gives the 30 cents number that most pay gap fighters know, the second gives the statistically accurate number of 5-7 cents. So, it's a combination …

Stand your ground is never relevant in the home. Except it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stand-your-ground_law Forty-six U.S. states have adopted the castle doctrine[citation needed], stating that a person has no duty to retreat when his/her home is attacked. Twenty-two states have removed the duty to retreat requirement from other locations as well.[1] "Stand Your Ground", "Line in the Sand" or "No Duty to Retreat" laws thus state that a person has no duty or other requirement to abandon a p…

That's just it. Of course they aren't saying it openly. But let's look at the narrative around gender. Not only is it not a false equivalency, but to try and then say that homosexuality didn't exist because there wasn't a specific "gay culture" until the Victorian era shows an absolute lack of historical knowledge. The feminist movement co-opted that entire incident and focused it so narrowly on "he hated women" that nothing else could be discussed. I think in some instances it can be useful. For instance - many gay men are feminists. They see that feminism at one point helped those of alternative sexual identities gain rights and acknowledgement. Using the knowledge that many gay male teenagers end up homeless, and that this is a men's rights issue is a great way to get gay men to see all of the men's rights issues and how maybe being a part of the men's rights movement would help them.

Not in the Men's Rights area. Most issues that involve men's rights tend to be centered around straight men. Not that that is a bad thing, it's pretty much expected. Those issues that don't involve sexuality tend not to mention gay or straight - they are simply men's issues.

There was an article on Salon a few days ago about a woman who had her purse on the seat next to her, while she was listening to music with earphones. Apparently someone wanted that seat and tried to get her to move her bag several times. After failing to get her attention, he shoved her bag over. She turned the entire event into a racist, sexist, victim game. His white male privilege was what was focused on, instead of the rudeness of a woman (who happened to be black) and taking up multiple se…

Sure! This type of evidence wasn't really available or reliable until the late 80s. Up until then only blood type matches were available. Most if not all statute of limitation laws were written before then and probably need to be updated. Though in reality, any biologist can point out that DNA degrades over time if not properly prepared, thus calling into question old DNA tests. Up until very late 80s (I think 88 was when they became highly prominent) most of these kits used blood type matching …

Statutes aren't about letting someone get away with something. They are about the State knowing that after a certain amount of time, evidence will simply not exist. No evidence (or bad remaining evidence) will not get someone convicted, and that trial will now cost more money than it is probably worth. Additionally, human memory is very fallible. Even after 10 minutes most people have forgotten 80% of what happened 10 minutes before. Now, add 7 years to that. Add 15 years. Add 30 years. Human me…

There's an easy solution to this: not only do you put the seat down, but you demand that the cover is put down as well. This forces all parties involved to expend effort and lift the cover or the cover/seat combo to use the toilet. It also insures that no one "falls in" due to laziness.

I respect the right of parents to make choices for their children I don't. Parents don't magically get a PhD when they pop a child out. Then this can be said about anyone under 25. If your definition of maturity is completed neurological development and the psychological development to go with it, it's wrong to sleep with most people under 25. Uber is a "ride sharing" company. I can become an Uber driver, receive notifications that someone needs a ride, and give it to them. That individual pays the Uber company some money, most of that money comes my way. However, the company has a nice habit of upping and lowering prices at "Prime times". There is no use for a word for non-trans. It adds an extra layer of "we're different!" by adding more labels. Yes, they have a precedent in mental health. Yes, Cis and Trans have been used to describe molecular shape. This is far from being used by the medical/psychological community as others claim it is. Cis is a non-essential label that was created to reinforce the differences between people it serves no other purpose as can be seen by it's near immediate use as a pejoritive. Transfolk can discuss trans issues without discussing "cis" people.

You don't. See, feminists like to say that feminist theory is all about inclusion and making everyone feel welcomed. When in reality, feminist theory is about assigning as many labels to people as possible. This necessitates the creation of new labels. Instead of being a male. I must be a cis-male simply because I don't question my biological drives. Feminism's goal isn't to remove the "other" feeling. It's goal is to make sure we each feel like an "other" and thus will treat each other better.

I'm stoic because my mother and step father beat the emotion out of me. There is no excitement because that led to punishment. There is no sadness, that lead to punishment. There is no anger, that lead to being beat. I would hazard to guess that a lot of stoic people learned to be stoic this way. Any showing of emotion was punished. Stoic acceptance of your circumstances was rewarded - even if that reward was simply the cessation of punishment.

I disagree. From a psycholinguistics stand point, the goal of the movement was clear - it's right there in the name. Just as patriarchy was used to relegate all men into a bubble of oppressors, the unconscious tone of the feminist movement has been to reverse that power dynamic. They've done a great job of it in the west so far. Feminism has never been about equality. It's used equality as an illusion. It's goal has always been to move the balance point far to the other side.

If you can give it to a partner, you can contract it (you have contracted it, or you couldn't transmit it). Men get HPV all the time. It causes genital warts. What men don't get is Cervical cancer, which may be caused by some strains of HPV. It may (evidence is mounting) be the cause of some throat and oral cancers. It's as much for your protection as for women's.

To be honest, one should always wonder about the intentions of someone who repeatedly tries to sell them something they aren't remotely interested in buying. Closing your ears and going LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU. Is childish and exactly what SRS and much of the "Fempire" does. It's nice to see people using that wonderful tactic. /s It is ultimately irrelevant if some of SRSs concepts are valid in theory. It's easy to be radical behind a computer screen. There are no real repercussions for sitting behind a screen and spewing bullshit and hate. IRL - those who are radical and behave that way will get instant consequences, from the losing of friends to losing a job. This is especially prevalent on Reddit. Mods have absolute control over subreddits, so any idea that they don't agree with, or as Robotanna/SilentAgony/Archangel-squad like to say "violates safe space" (a concept none of them actually k…

This actually happens here too. I've been down voted and tagged as an SRS member because I can see some of their arguments and try to bring their perspective into a more rational light. One idiot here told me I was femsplaining. He didn't talk about my post, just that I was femsplaining and an SRSer (even though I've been banned from most SRS reddits). People are people. Many of them don't think rationally. Unfortunately this is part of the MRA movement as well.

Source 1: Not a real source. No science, just someones opinion on a web page. Yes, it has a .edu ending. That doesn't make it science. They also give no sources for their claims. Source 2: While this one does have citations they are limited in scope and extremely out of date. Research over 10 years old is usually considered invalid as populations and their behaviors change much more rapidly than 10 years. Source 3: This is the same bullshit you used earlier, and the critiques still stand.

That article from March 13 is bullshit. First it's a GA news report, not actual science. Second it gives no sources for it's claims. Third it only talks about prosecutions. Since there are women that admit to false rape accusations that aren't prosecuted (I know of at least one, and I'm sure you can find multiple news articles talking about others) then these statistics are invalid. Right, and the argument I'm making is that if they saw statistical significance with only 300 men. This, at the very least implies a large effect size. Adding extra participants is unnecessary. Thus peterporky's claim that the sample wasn't large enough is flawed by ignorance of statistical power and effect size. He has yet to catch this. In all likely hood, 300 men (assuming 150 in each group) is large enough to give validity to a claim. His first claim was that you needed 10,000 participants. …

Actually it doesn't. It needs to be specific to population. The U.S. is a distinct population from the rest of the world. Additionally, most of the rest of the world have much lower rates of circumcision than here in the U.S. And 300 may very well indeed be enough to describe a population - depending on effect size. Try again.

There is no ambiguity. English is pretty clear. 1 GA citation does not dispute the 19 others provided. Try again.

Nope. Still depends on effect size. Since you don't have the information needed to determine what effect size your looking for, you can't possibly know or even estimate the number of data points you need. Statistic classes are cheap at your local community college.

Redundancy isn't an issue. Again, the scientific process calls for it. Have you even had any college statistics and research courses? It appears not. You've provided no citations. Thus, you get none in return.

You're AP Psychology teacher needs to find a new job. Power of results depends on the population and the size of the effect you are looking for. Cohen's d (a measurement for effect size) will tell you roughly what number of participants you need. For the United States, unless you are looking for a very very small effect, 10,000 is far more than you need. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effect_size

Sadly, I see similar arguments in MR all the time "I didn't use a rubber, but I don't want a kid, so I shouldn't be responsible". I'm sure it's only a small portion of the MR movement, but that is the portion which is going to taint the movement horribly. Yes, I know that men have custody issues. Those need to be addressed. However, OP gave the impression that this isn't about custody, this is about him simply not wanting to be there.

His responsibility is half the cost of an abortion plus lost wages and inconvenience from the pregnancy. Neither party expressed a desire to have a child, and both were apparently insufficiently diligent in applying contraceptives. Then he should have used a rubber. Yes, and that sucks. I completely get that. I feel really sorry for my bio father. However, he took no action to prevent me. He didn't attempt any of the other options (abortion, adoption) but instead left me with a woman who was bat shit insane who then married a drug using alcoholic who beat the crap out of me. Sperm doner = insult for bio father who runs away. Egg donor = insult for mother who did her best to make life as difficult for all parties involved as possible. While you may be advocating for adoption/abortion, this line: "I don't want this kid to grow up without a dad". but that's what would happen Show's that you're willing to drop a kid who had no choice in this situation just because you don't want to deal with it. No, not analyzing it from a 'traditionalist' mindset. I'm anything but traditional. 1) After I was born. 2) Yup. Said he'd be there and everything. 3) Nope. No contraceptives were used. At all. 4) 1978, so not really sure. But adoption services were in place. No excuses there.

In my case it was 90% his choice, he did not ask for an abortion, nor did he push for adoption. He simply walked away (He and I've talked about this - he felt that "I didn't want to get in between the bond you and your mom would form"....)- much like OP is threatening to do. That is his choice. His choice has consequences (which my sperm donor may be paying for now - my egg donor is a super bitch).

As the child of a father who willfully ran so that he didn't have to pay (or interact, or be part of my life, or....), I find this organization disgusting. Their reason for existing, while in some ways valid, is beyond monstrous. They claim a success rate of 250,000. How do I approach the "have an abortion, please" conversation? Say: I don't want a kid, and we should discuss abortion/adoption. How does paternity testing work, and when does it happen? The easiest and least dangerous way is to wait after the kid is born and do a swab test. It will cost some $$. If it must be done now then there will be amniotic fluid testing which is more dangerous, more expensive, and less likely to happen over just a paternity issue. Am I legally obligated to take care of the child if she fails to give it up for adoption? Yup. And you better be there for your kid. My father wandered off. He's still an ass. I was told I wouldn't lose length, nor would I have any weird scars. I lost about .5 of an inch (a very tight circumcision) and have some interesting scars. No one complains about them, in fact I've gotten many compliments, but it's still a self image issue.

The evidence is leaning very heavily in favor of a biological origin for homosexuality. We haven't identified the exact mechanism, but the evidence is mounting that it is indeed biological. See Chandler Burrs: A Separate Creation, and Gay, Straight, and the Reason Why by Simon Levay for two great overviews of the research.

You're right. I'll tear apart your argument piece by piece. You're argument that we aren't focusing on Asian males is as ludicrous as saying we don't focus on Latino males, Indian males, etc. We don't because we are focusing on ALL males. If you feel the need to post Asian male specific information, please do. But don't come and bitch about us not taking special note of one race over another.

Fact: Many people believe that Asian Americans intrinsically have poor communication skills. Citation not peer reviewed/refereed. It's an opinion piece. In fact, on closer reading it is quite clear the author cherry picked their information. Television news casters/OKcupid: Citation not peer reviewed/refereed. It's an opinion piece. Asian men are practically invisible in society. Citation? Relationships Citiation? Stereotyping Citation? You're personal anecdotes don't cut it. Nothing you typed up there can be expected to only be experienced by Asian men. In fact, I know many white, Latino, and black men who would say they suffer from the exact same things. Please provide refereed citations that show that Asian men are experiencing these issues more than any one else.

Yes. And since there are no known laws that require this, it is most likely an issue with the doctor. In that particular thread, several people mentioned that they had encountered similar issues, and that according to the OPs own attorney, it was a "cover your ass" issue for the doctor.

I believe it depends on the doctor as to whether men need consent from their wives to get a vasectomy. It's not a state/federal/city law.

Because the poster implies that the only reason people are gay is because it's "forbidden fruit". When for most gay guys this simply isn't the case. I would love to really like vagina. I don't. And it's not because liking cock instead is taboo. It's simply the way I was built.

While said individual may have been acting poorly (okay, he was) the fact that she is generalizing her entire post to be about "men" and not about that "man" shows a serious issue with the world. You probably wouldn't. I had to have it re-done at 18. At the time I thought "this wont be so bad." Worst decision ever. 6 weeks of pain, no sex, constantly trying to keep a boner from happening and a loss of .5 inches was enough to convince me that circumcision was a bad idea. Also note, I was told by my urologist at the time that there wouldn't be any loss of size, no abnormal scarring, and it would look cosmetically fine. Lies.

Actually, no - they haven't "been there for" me. And no, I'm not a "bad person." I did not get "spanked" for being a "snot nosed brat." I was beaten for no reason other than the ass hole was an alcoholic and didn't bother to control his anger. If you consider being beaten for no other reason than sitting on a couch as being beaten for as a "snot nosed brat" you have a very skewed view of reality. You are making judgements based on a lack of information and are the "bad person."

Good for you! If they are there to provide you a safety net, were decent parents, don't try to guilt trip you for your birth, didn't use you as a punching bag, etc. etc. Then great! Help them in their older years if they need it. I bet they'd be there for you right now if you need it. Just because they are forced by law to be in prison for 18 years (their words), doesn't mean I have any obligation to help them in retirement.

Nope. They had sex without rubbers, or any form of birth control. They knew what they were doing. They can say "mistake! mistake!" Argument invalid. I did not choose to be conceived. Secondly, my mother has used this argument to get so much out of me until about six months ago. It's not fuzzy thinking. Both sets of genitals have clear correlates. While it is true that some female circumcisions remove the clitoris, not all do. Secondly it doesn't matter if it's fuzzy thinking or not. Child mutilation is not fuzzy thinking. Cutting off a non-diseased, functioning part of a person's anatomy is mutilation (and child abuse imo). No matter the reasoning.

Experiencing these many many women is the reason I don't I agree with the feminist movement even in the slightest. The women I have known who called themselves feminists wanted all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks. I think your understanding of vaccines may be a bit low. Vaccines prevent someone from catching it. It primes the bodies immune system to be ready for that particular virus. Once the virus is encountered, your body destroys it. Vaccines prevent infection and spreading of the infection.
/r/MensRights04/10/11 04:45 PM

I actually argued both. It made no sense that HPV (at least that particular strain) wouldn't cause cancer in men, there was at least a small chance. Being a gay man fairly familiar with anal and oral sex - it was a concern. Straight men go down on women who may have contracted HPV - it made no sense that they wouldn't gain a risk for oral cancer. I remember one person saying they had no responsibility to protect another person.
