I don't know how I can be friendsYou don’t have to be friends to co-parent. She simply wants the relationship without the physicality. It’s not a “I want this but not that” type of situation. It’s all over. My ex and I don’t get along personally but we co-parent pretty well for the most part. Kids don’t see our issues and we make sure time is spent with them from both of us. That’s what matters when you’re talking about what is best for the kids. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/05/21 11:32 PM
28 years old, No kids, No mortgage, I’m simply no longer happy with my spouse and want out.Your divorce will be so easy. If you’re not happy, then get out brother. Wish mine was as easy as yours will be! | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/08/20 12:52 AM
Final strawI gave my ex wife 2 months to end her affair. She went to meet his family and went to Niagara Falls on Labor Day weekend and left me again with the kids as she had been doing. I contacted a lawyer that week and had papers turned in for filing 2 weeks later. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/07/20 12:24 PM
DatingMy advice is to not date for a while. I know the urge is there, but you’ll likely find you’re not ready. I met an awesome gal and it honestly could have been a great relationship, maybe even a new wife had I not met her while I was in the middle of my divorce. After that short relationship, I didn’t start dating until a year after I had filed. I am now happily with someone I connect immensely with on an emotional and physical level. I encourage you to wait just a bit and find comfort in being bo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/20 12:26 AM
DatingMost states are no fault states now in regards to extra marital affairs. The only thing I complained about during my proceedings was my ex wife bringing her boy toy/AP around the kids. The magistrate sided with me and said anyone either one of us was seeing should not be around the kids | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/20 12:24 AM
Did anyone here divorce over a sexless marriage?Honestly without kids, you should be able to iron out the assets. If there was no prenuptial agreement, I’d imagine everything gets split in half. My ex and I split everything 50/50 in money and physical items and we have 2 children together. She may not want to face the music, but it sounds like you’ve tried to engage in actions to save your marriage. If she won’t reciprocate on all levels, you need to leave. You should be happy, not miserable. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/12/19 10:43 PM
A taste of freedomThat’s rough man. I’m sorry for that. I had to do it for about a year, but we each would leave on our days with the children and stay with family/friends so the kids could have one roof. Best of luck to you man | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/19 03:14 PM
Legal separationThanks for the clarification. I just remember looking at it and saying “nope, just divorce her” when going through my own s*** storm | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/10/19 02:22 PM
Legal separationTrust me when I say, lawyer up. In Ohio, separation and divorce are essentially the same thing. Was your ex a stay at home wife? If so, then yes there will be alimony but it’s not permanent. CS will be a ton though for 4 kids. You’re most likely going to give up half of your retirement, that’s pretty standard here in OH. I’m sorry she cheated and is doing you dirty like this. Best of luck to you man. Best thing I’ve ever done is keep my kids in mind with everything to block out the BS of divorce… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/10/19 05:02 AM
