Imo, absolutely not. An athlete training for the olympics will train a lot, up to 5-7 hours a day from what I gathered, but that is his job at that point and they can make time for loved ones, I imagine similar to other athletes. Now, professional gamers are forced to spend their whole 24 hours on their goals every day. During their day they may go to the gym, eat healthily and game, but they are forced to spend literally all of their time on this goal, or else they get tossed, and sometimes are…

Ahh... Yeah, I really think your guy is taking you for granted and comfortable. Because in a way, he keeps getting away with his behavior. You should ask yourself if you will be happy with this for the next years, if not the rest of your life. Don't fall for the sunk cost fallacy.

It really sounds like he has gotten comfortable enough to treat your presence as a given. Edit: Wait you didn't let him come over to you? oof girl.

You are perfectly reasonable, though at this point, what do you do together? No spa, not even watching movies? To me it sounds like you are his bangmaid, since, by the sounds of it, you just live together, but don't even do anything together except maybe in bed. Though I would need more information to judge this better, because he sounds either like a wimp or a manipulator. Either way, imo, this man will not change, at least not for you. The bar has been set to beneath the floor. My advice would…

I will never judge a man by his potential ever again, but rather by who he currently is and his current actions. My ex went to university, got a degree, but ended up later on in a job position barely better than a cashier, due to having no ambition. He ate like a hog, but had a good metabolism. Lo and behold, a year or so later, that stopped. He has gained weigt massively and is puzzled about it. Skincare? None. The signs were there the whole time. The "I'm unsure with my degree"s, the constant …

I don't trust men. They have to earn my trust and I don't make that easy. On the other hand, I have heavily prioritized making female friendships and living a happy (single) life. In a way I am actually happier like this. I still date occassionally, but since I have worked on myself, my hobbies and my social ties so much, I don't miss out on anything if it doesn't work out with a guy.

I think we may need a word for the men between lvm and hvm. The men that aren't trash, the ones that are alright, but have to prove themselves as hvm. They can in the end turn out to be mediocre and they wouldn't spark joy in your life as romantic partners.

Not to mention that quitting now would look really really damn bad on your resumé. I have a friend who works in the field and her coworker quit, leaving her with more work. They are definitely never employing that coworker again, from the sounds of it.

You don't. You don't try to date during a global pandemic. Drop this guy and work on your hobbies and yourself, connect with female friends. No HVM would risk exposing anyone and would similarily put off dating for now. Try dating properly again once this has died down, also read the FDS handbook in case you haven't yet.

There are only a few good anime and the rest is pretty much trash. That is however expected since japanese otakus put most of their money into that kind of trash, so it pays to be created. A lot of people working in the industry lament this fact. Miyazaki Hayao for example being one of them with his famous quote "Anime was a mistake". I barely have friends who would call themselves anime fans and honestly I understand. Some better anime that come to mind would be The Promised Neverland and Erase…

I would go weeks or so without really responding to his messages either because I just forgot or I didn't feel like it because I'm a natural asshole. I make a lot of self-deprecating jokes but don't worry about it, I like myself. You should work on leveling-up, this behavior won't make the right people stay. You should get some better friends instead, ones who don't just want to get into your pants. The shoes and gifts, the hotel, the list goes on. He will most likely expect sex either then or i…

You definitely need more time rn. 19 is very young, stay single for a year or more even and invest in yourself, learn to live with yourself. Men at 19 or 20 just aren't ready to commit anyway nowadays. Once you had a glow up and are confident in yourself, you can start looking for someone who adds to your already great life.

Again, he admitted he was inconsistent, apologised and said he didn't want a relationship (I don't want one either but I definitely deserve respect even if it is for a hookup). Said to me that he didn't want to "bind" himself to someone he didn't see very often (I didn't expect him to and I'm moving to the Netherlands next year). I am not sure what to tell you. You may have been clowned, but he is the real clown. Your new life starts now. Do not message him if you do not have to, secure your belongings and money(!!) and make plans for a future that only revolves around yourself and puts you in the spotlight of your life. You will get dependant on a guy while he makes you his starter wife. You will be his mom, his therapist, his maid and his hooker, while not getting anything but mental exhaustion in return. Once he is better off, he will dump you for someone else once you are an empty shell of your former self. Get yourself a lot of female friends who support you and who you can confide in instead.

It sounds great in theory, in a make-believe world men could be taking care of the household, the meal preperation, the shopping, the children and so on. Reality is just that it would not work out. Short-term maybe. But every SAHD I know is not even taking care of the kids, the mother still has to do that on top of working. And making food. And has to come along for grocery shopping. A lot of my friends have really, really low standards for men. They then get used like wet rags and get discarded, only to hear from them again weeks afterwards for another quick lay, then wonder what they did wrong when they got discarded again. Again, again and again. If this guy wanted something serious from you then he would put in way more effort. Put yourself in his shoes for a second. I think any human being can look decent to a degree, no matter what. The ones that don't and straight up refuse to, are usually the ones who don't improve themselves in other ways either. They then spend all their time online, and men being men obviously, when hung up about not getting the hot girls, may encounter the red pill. From personal experience I can say some pick-mes don't realize that they have to put effort into themselves. They also do not understand that looking good every day requires effort. Therefore they resent and deathstare these "pretty" girls whose level they think they can never reach. They then pick up pick-me behaviors, because they think it makes them stand out and be better than "those other girls". It really shows that when you are happy with yourself and don't hate on others like that, that …

I just realized that "coffee date" means to just get a simple coffee together somewhere. Most if not all cafés in my city are really elegant and grand in some way, you also usually always get a light snack, a pastry or similar, along with your drink of choice. I think most people where I live would think about a good café when talking about a coffee date. So yes. I would go on a coffee date, but only if it is the kind I described. If he's taking me to starbucks then no.

Meanwhile men are allowed to be extra picky with a side of misogony and we are supposed to kiss their asses. Take a job interview for example, you have to chase that job and get it. The job does not chase to get you. Some have already mentioned this part, but no. Jobs do chase you if they need your skillset, quite a few countries have a shortage of skilled workers even. It just tells us this guy has a low salary or low education on top of being a shortie with issues.

Don't ever be "low-maintenance". I used to see it as a good thing and now I realize what a terrible thing it was.

I have no words. Like we know this about men and yet I have no words.

Once you are done I would love to read your review of it!

And when they in a few years realize what nobodies they are for not having learned or accomplished anything at all, during the darkest nights, they will blame... everyone else.

Well men do always seem to beg for you to "give them a chance". This is good to know

Hell yeah, sister! There were a few posts lately about the myth of "the wall" on here. I am about your age and I tell you, reading those posts made me so much happier that I am not rushing anything.

22 is young, the older you get you will learn to realize this. Your whole life is still ahead of you. You are not missing a lot by not dating. I would say to work on yourself, your education/work and your self confidence first. Don't let others walk over you, including friends and family. Think about your goals in life and what will make you happy. Once you have a good grip on those things, you can start dating. Remember that a man should not be your other half or anything like that, but someone…

Simple. NTA. You have standards these men do not meet and your reasonings are valid. If it is a deal breaker then it is a deal breaker. Put yourself first.

Thank you! I am still working on myself and my education, so I aint got time to waste on men atm, but I'm sure I will stick around for a while.

I am honestly so glad I found this sub. Especially because of the point about dating multiple guys. I always found myself having to stop messaging one guy once I went to a first date to see if it would work out, even if I had good chemistry with someone else as well. That meant I had to drop it with everyone else and once it didn't work out I just had to start over. Now I realize how much time I wasted with that. You cannot believe how truly grateful I am for that one alone. If I aint someone's …

Thankfully I am not 30 yet so I can still wear my wasps.

Simple. One of us might be one of the 3% who actually responds to one of them in OLD, and then they might just be expected to pay for a date. Can you imagine our audacity for having standards.

This is super nice to know. I'm still young and was worrying about this a little, I will admit, but I am taking care of myself and if my mother (and father, he is one of the lucky few actually) is anything to judge by, I have nothing to worry about as long as I take care of myself. The myth really is all projection from men, I should have known.

The only thing missing is a back-handed insult towards all women in general and the word "sapiosexual"

This moid is bitter as fuck about someone he hasn't even talked to! I like how he admitted he would just have used her anyway. The money aspect is also laughable. I know a guy who is in deep debt, but brags about his incredible future income... while having a shitty job and having to do overtime every day just to make an okay living. This guy reminds me of him. Don't fall for it.

God this makes me feel nauseous. Every woman should read some of this handy guide so they can spot this bullshit right away. Gross.

that's why you'll almost never see one of them ask if they should limit their earning options for love. This. This difference is what no one talks or even thinks about. Only women have to consider halting their education or even life for a man. Men don't get told they should not take [great opportunity], no, they HAVE to take it actually, even if it means making their wife/gf/family unhappy. Put yourselves first sisters.

Let's start looking at this shall we. This man cannot even set up a screen capture while recording his voice. He records with a camera. At the beginning and later on you can also see this guys task bar. He has not customized it for his uses, having default programs on it, including Internet Explorers of all browsers. He is obviously inept with computers and probably older in age, seeing as it is common for people over a certain age to be shit with computers like this. Next up, there is something…

My friend and I had a discussion about this subject the other day actually. She felt it would give a man power over her if she let him pay, but this and the Don't Split the Bill sticky posts make really good arguments which I did not quite articulate that well at the time. If I have another discussion about it with her, I will bring up the psychological aspect as one point of view. Thank you!
