Society Wants You to be Dependent. Be Independent.Heinlein said it best: Specialization is for insects. Other examples: Car maintenance: Be it an oil change or air filter replacement, mechanics will markup materials before adding labor. Cleaning after your damn self: I used to live in a managed apartment, where if anything was wrong, you could place a work order and it would be fixed. Then the rent came up, then the apartment enrolled everyone into a trash pickup system, which nobody could opt out of, and cost an extra 50/month. | 1 | The *MAIN* Problem of Young Men Today isn't Feminism - it's Spectatorism-EscapismI grew up with videogames as an escape. Work gradually helped me game less, but it wasn't until I started focusing more on value-building activities that I realized I've been gaming less. For now, my main escape from videogames has been learning how to make things. It's been an interesting last few months. I decided I would give metalworking a try (and lapidary to a lesser extent). A few things got me interested: I was playing too much Skyrim, so I figured I would learn to smith for real. The Tu… | /r/askTRP | 21/05/16 11:44 PM
For people who are going towards successIt's not so much if you're on reddit or not, as much as what you are on reddit for. Are you using reddit for learning, or looking at cat pics? | /r/askTRP | 21/05/16 11:14 PM
What would you do differently if you could go back to being 18?18 was a bad year for me. I got on trp rather late, last year (I'm 29 now). Honestly, I think the biggest thing I've noticed is that over the last year, I've gradually been doing more in real life and spending a lot less time on Skyrim/Minecraft/etc. I have actual nonprofessional goals besides "chase women." | /r/askTRP | 04/05/16 12:24 AM
What would you do differently if you could go back to being 18?I would have waited a year before doing college, or barring that would have looked for more extensive counseling on-campus I was a social and emotional wreck with no real friends, self-harm as a coping mechanism, and dealing with intense self-hatred. After being blown off by one clique, I slammed my face through emergency glass in raw frustration, and said "I fell down some stairs" at the campus clinic. This was 11 years ago, and I feel like professional help would have been more useful then. | /r/askTRP | 03/05/16 06:01 PM
Jump starting my smv? Also, how to meet better women? So, a few things have changed since I posted last. Regarding women, I went on way too many "first dates" through online sites. I was definitely focused too much on women then, and did try the whole "designer chameleon" thing. Around 3 months ago, I got offline altogether and started looking for a pursuit to focus on especially since I struggle with work burnout. (Software developer in a cubicle and stuff). I spent too much time video gaming too, and figured if I'm playing Skyrim, I might was wel… | /r/askTRP | 02/05/16 07:42 PM
Society Wants You to be Dependent. Be Independent.I dunno, getting a trainer "can" be helpful if you're starting out later than normal with gym. Another important one? Car maintenance. If you're going to get your oil replaced, stuff like air filter replacement/etc can be done by yourself for way cheaper. | /r/TheRedPill | 02/05/16 07:05 PM
Anyone else in their late 20s/early 30s feel like they're running out of time to find a decent woman?Purge your facebook. This solves half the problem; it's not about you wanting to find someone, but the perception that others have something you don't, and therefore you must want it. | /r/askTRP | 02/05/16 06:00 PM
Jump starting my smv? Also, how to meet better women? One thing I've been interested in (by interested, I mean "pipe dream and haven't done any research whatsoever") is gauging the interest in a center for crowdsourced adult classes, akin to Brooklyn Brainery or so. We already have a makerspace, but the idea is for stuff that isn't as tech-bent. | /r/askTRP | 29/04/16 11:55 AM
Jump starting my smv? Also, how to meet better women? Thanks, that's actually a really interesting chart, especially the breakdown. The majority of things I've done or am scheduled to do either fall into "intellectual stimulation" or "marketability." "Physical activity" is in the middle. Very few have been "meeting women." Main passion of late has been diy/artistic pursuits. Blacksmithing, gemcutting, homebrew, leatherworking, etc. EDIT: It wasn't from a woman, one of the other guys there. Still is odd. | /r/askTRP | 28/04/16 06:13 PM
How do I get better at socializingTry Toastmasters. They're a nonprofit that trains people in public speaking and leadership/communication skills. Look up if they have a local chapter. | /r/askTRP | 28/04/16 04:28 PM
Online dating: 3 flakes this week. What am I doing wrong?Women on free sites are usually: Just on it for validation/boredom. Trolling for Instagram followers (funny case, there was one website called "how about we", where you put a date suggestion in your profile headline. One girl's idea was "Follow me on Instagram!") Conning schmucks for free dinners/drinks. Not actually women. 419 scams are still a thing. Look up the "this is my underage daughter's phone" scam. ...honestly, I feel a lot better offline, now that I've started finding my own hobbies f… | /r/askTRP | 28/04/16 04:21 PM

Knowing about RP, does the song "Honey I'm Good" annoy you? Some rap is better once you swallow the pill. The most notable one now would be No Role Modelz, by J. Cole, just in the main line itself. Don't save her. She don't want to be saved. | /r/askTRP | 29/09/15 12:40 PM
