It is interesting how divorce/separation defines who your friends are and you were never your friends. I think your male friends realize that it can happen to them too and they get quite scared and retreat. That is valid too.

I am in a similar situation. 4 months in, still dealing with the disaster from a high conflict separation. However, there is this woman, which is quite opposite to my ex in all the good ways. she has been separated for 3 years and she knows I am not there yet. Still, we continue to talk and it is getting intimate. I do know I am still off, but attention and caring feel good. I am a family guy after all.

Nailed it! You forgot: 9) Monkey Branching by the end of the relationship 10) Boasting being "honest" and she is doing everything not to hurt you.

WTF ...were you spying on me? This hit me like a sac of rocks. This is precisely what happened to me , however, I do not regret it at all. I feel like a father to my son and he loves me as father. So that is that.

It is the same movie all over again. It is like how can she do this to me and then you see the same story here. It blows my mind. The evil, callousness, malice, it is like one is paying for a crime against humanity and must be punished.

Well, I was adamant to believe about stereotypes here, after 2 months she is sleeping with a guy. She must have been sleeping with him way before.

Update: two days ago, she stated she is not leaving because without a job she cannot find a rent. She claims she cannot leave her son (an adult) behind living with me. I wonder if looking for a new place is the best idea. Although going to court might be a win for me.

She is the one leaving. Can you extend your idea?

You read my mind! That is precisely it! She knows my insecurities/vulnerabilities better than I do! In hindsight, she has always played them very well!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
