You should inform the guys you’re going with that you’ll bring a gun. I’d honestly have to much saftey concerns going on a date with an armed stranger. So if you don’t want men to trick you into dangerous situations, please also don’t do this vice versa.

When we take those three categories, women actually score a point in who the most famous human in this discipline is. I’d say it’s pretty inarguably: Leonardo DaVinci William Shakespeare Greta Thunberg

Of course is sex not a need. But the title of your thread is pretty wrong nevertheless. Status among men comes with smt like cars or having the biggest box of WH40K figures. For some it’s muscles, but even they are more into each other, than who has sex. So no, men do not wanna have sex to “statusmax”.

So it doesn’t mean anything about his body, except when it means something about his body? Well played.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/26 12:16 PM

Yeah well, “tax payers” is the optimistic take. Soldiers would be the pessimistic one. They can be a little roughed up. This opens up a bunch of very dystopian possibilities. Human breeding would probably be inevitable in such a situation. Rn we only have a little bit of natural evolution. Cause no one makes a plan who procreates with whom. But if you just put an egg cell and a bit of sperm in an incubator, you’re inclined to optimise for certain outcomes. I think it will be hard to stop this te…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 01:00 PM

If the children are there, someone has to take care of them. In other words, if governments decide to pay women to give them their eggs and men to give them their sperm, and then go ahead an buy a bunch of artificial wombs to produce some future tax payers, theres really not much you or i can do about it. And sure this might sound like a stupid brain fart from our perspective rn. But if the technology exists and nations start to collapse because of demographics, we might talk again.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 12:34 PM

Well i can’t be sure of course. I’d just expect it to be this way. Mainly because i myself, as an egalitarian, are quite skeptical if artificial wombs are a good idea. But i am supportive of taking other measures to up birth rates. And i honestly think many feminists are as well. Involving men more in childcare is definitely a reasonable approach. The thing is, the framing around this topic became a bit weird. I think that is the case because people like Musk poisened the discourse and give thei…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 12:27 PM

Artifical wombs are probably only a few decades away from now. China is already testing it. It’s gonna be an interesting discussion then. I guess feminists will strongly oppose artificial wombs and any natural measures to raise birth rates. So they might end up being perceived as a death cult then.

To show that the initial statement that “you cannot force other people to change” is questionable. First of all we’d have to define “to force”. Are we strictly talking physical coercion? Or is strongly advocating for something also “forcing others”? If we’re strictly talking physical coercion, i am with the other commenter, that one cannot do that. But i don’t see how women are being physically coerced to approach, lower their standards, give chances, reject top tier guys and pay on dates. So fr…

Is it a “really weak tactic” as well to proclaim the destruction of the patriarchy as your goal? I mean according to you, one cannot force others to change, right? I am very curious if you hold feminists to those standards as well.

So if no one should ask women to settle, does that mean no one fulfils womens looks and status expectations?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/26 03:14 PM

Yeah. We’re both free. And i don’t wanna change that. Still i am not fond of what lies ahead in gender questions. Ostracising a big chunk of men from having sexual partnerships, might very well radicalise them. We already see the beginning of that. This could very well ramp up, if we more strongly embrace the natural hypergamy of women. And sure we can all put them into prison. But if we put like 20% (in this hypothetical scenario 20% of men are sex offenders) of men into prison there will be so…

What you say there has a lot of implications i think are really important. So, in animals, tons of males are left unfucked and mateless and die off. Never having spread their DNA women are now back in the biological position of being the choosers and selectors of mates in a way we haven't really had in society but it is more natural Do we wanna go back to the natural state? Because the natural state is quite something. In the natural state the males who aren’t chosen by females to pass on their …

Yeah i fully agree. But with the important addition, that not only looks can lead to genuine desire. But there are too many men who think if they somehow woo a woman enough, she will be attracted to them. And this is a pathetic approach tbh. But it can be hard to accept that it might take a while to find someone you are attracted to and who’s genuinely attracted to you.

Yeah nobody could ever see a trend that women tend to date older men. Do you hear yourself talking?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/26 01:47 AM

Actually, young people are far more likely to have their relationships status change drastically overnight. We are talking about averages here. Sure Kevins relationship status might change over night, but there are tens of millions of other young Americans. And they have behavioural patterns when it comes to relationship. Sure if we take snapshots the values might be a little bit different each time. But they wont change drastically in a short period of time. And 2 years is not that much on a so…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/26 01:45 AM

If you’re so good in critical thinking you might also understand, that the age composition of relationships of all young people also wont drastically change over night. Telling me my point is invalid because the single rates could be different now is like telling me i would lie when i tell you the temperature, cause i looked at the thermometer 5 minutes ago.

No, first of all we got a nominal gap of 29 percentage points here, not 50. Someone who is capable of “basic math” should be able to validate that Furthermore, part of the nominal gap is actually explained due to demographics. There are a bit more young men in the US than young women. But this explains only a fraction of the nominal gap. The remaining lion share of the gap can only be explained through age gap relationships. So i’d suggest about 20 to 25 percent of all women aged 18-29 date men …

I want you to think about what you wrote. If 63 percent of women aren’t single then who are they together with if it’s not men? Each other?! Excellent question. The answer is with men older than 29.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/26 12:55 AM
3

Is it impossible to fathom that those metrics change second by second? And? Can you provide a more recent snapshot than 2024? Thought so. Do you realize that some people would consider themselves not single but not in a relationship either? Well what i do realise is, that those surveys not simply ask “are you single?”. They ask several questions from wich they construct the relationship status of a person.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/26 12:52 AM
5

Not a red piller, but i can easily provide you with data from 2024 that shows that 34% of women aged 18-29 are single and 63% of men in the same age bracket. There is definitely contemporary data wich supports red pill argumentations.

You get most of the stuff terribly wrong here. And you assume that men are overall more capable than women, which is quite misogynistic. The thing is i also see at least a slight trend, that women in relationships tend to outsource certain decisions and tasks to men. Oftentimes this are tasks which require strict outcome driven thinking. But men tend to outsource a lot of tasks too in relationships. The best example is interpersonal care and decision making. And to some extend i think this is he…

What is love?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/26 03:21 PM

There are rules in place to prevent it, but the moderation doesn’t have any fucks left to give it seems. The rules regarding debate threads state, that you must demonstrate a willingness to change your mind. I see that this rule might be hard to enforce, since especially if someone posts for the first time, it can be hard to assess the persons willingness to change their mind. But making 69 posts which are basically the same rant over and over again, demonstrates pretty effectively, that one has…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/02/26 01:12 PM

If i remember correctly at some point you even argued yourself that love is basically just neurotransmitters doing their thing. And considering this, this post makes not much sense. Of course people get a massive dopamine boost through sex. That is really no news. So yeah, most people basically feel “love” while having sex.

just be yourself This is a bit of a euphemism yes. What it actually means is “figure out who you are”. But people don’t wanna tell other people that, so they say “just be yourself”. “Just be yourself” seems a bit like body positivity for your character. Which isn’t necessarily bad, but body positivity can be an easy excuse for not putting in the effort to change something - which would benefit oneself, so one should do it. But if you go with “figure out who you are” it’s much clearer what one sh…

Sure the older you get the less significant becomes womens “dating advantage” and at some point it becomes a disadvantage. The statement that men are invisible to women only applies to young people and of course even in this case it’s a bit hyperbolic. The struggles feel roughly equal for both sides For young people this can be quite easily dismissed by looking at actual data. No need to go with your feeling, when we can just look up if there’s a significant disparity in the single- rates betwee…

The men vs bear debate really highlighted the selfishness and entitlement of young men too Hell nah, people got triggered by a rage bait? That truly never happened before and wont ever happen again. Saying men make everything about themselves is kinda valid. Many men do. But women do as well. It is deeply disingenuous to say men would only care about thems…

It is not true that the majority of younger people opts out of relationships. The majority of young women is in a relationship and the majority of young single men isn’t opting out, but is having not much of a choice.

Ok, let’s accept the claim that all men just want sex and hate relationships. Why are so many women putting up with this? The majority of people have relationships. Are all the women just dumb, so they don’t get that they’re just being abused? If all men are that way, why are women not just having relationships only with each other? Aren’t you claiming also all the time that platonic friendships are the exact same thing as a romantic relationship without physical contact? Why do women then not d…

Sure there are some limitations for the interpretations of the adjusted effect. Part time work is a pretty robust example, but for e.g. profession coding can be a bit misleading. For example nurses don’t earn that much which is also true for male nurses. But it could be argued that part of the reason why nurses are paid relatively little is because it is a profession where many women work. And the economists who make such studies are aware of those pitfalls. Ultimately those models are of course…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 07:27 PM

The exact how is difficult to explain if you aren’t well versed in statistics. It took me a year to grasp regression models, so i can’t explain a particularly complex regression model to you in a Reddit post. The basic idea is to observe all other factors that influence wages (besides gender discrimination) and check if part of the nominal gender wage disparity is explained due to them. For example women work more often part time than men. Are people who are working part time maybe getting less …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 06:50 PM

So “normal” peoples relationships are really just two people who have wildly different views and opinions on life and society, but just say or don’t say stuff to be liked? This sounds pathetic to me ngl. I had two such relationships. And after the second one, i promised myself that i don’t gonna waste my time like that again. Not having a relationship is better than having a relationship with some random person you happen to find pretty in my eyes. But sure, many people might disagree.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 06:18 PM

and autistic guys just need to turn their inner Spock off This made chuckle… You’re probably right that dating is much easier that way. But i don’t think i can do that. This would mean i’d have to change my whole personality to have a relationship. So i just have to hope i find another Vulcan i guess. Yeah maybe it is valid dating advice to just don’t argue about anything, but i think it’s also important to keep in mind that if you make that conscious choice now, you can’t really complain later.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 05:59 PM

Ok, so when a men tells a woman on a date, that 20% of men get 80% of women, they shouldn’t argue and debate every grievance and pet- peeve? And just move on? Why are people even talking to each other when what they say is of no concern? Could people not just schedule to fuck, if what the other person says should be disregarded anyways?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 05:47 PM

I want you to ask yourself a simple question: Would you have responded the same way if i would have said one should point out that “20% of men get 80% of women” is wrong, instead of pointing out that gendered labor market discrimination leads to a about 5% wage disparity and not 20%? Would pointing that out, would make someone socially awkward as well?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 05:39 PM

Ie, he is anti choice and I am pro choice Yeah no… That would be a no go in a romantic relationship for me. I can’t be with someone on a romantic level if we have such huge ideological disparities. Not for a long term relationship. I would “well actually🤓” much too often.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 05:24 PM

Well i’d reply to your question “oh so there’s still a wage gap?” with “yes, this is the isolated effect which can only be explained due to gendered labor market discrimination”. I never said that this effect is insignificant. And tbf quite some feminists also know that the adjusted effect is the one which represents labor market discrimination. But there is a shocking amount of feminists who doesn’t understand that and doesn’t even try to understand it. So i actually got a bit triggered just by…

I get your point. Especially in a dating context one should not be overly combatative about everything. That is definitely a valid statement. I just think the framing of this paragraph is not helpful: I think people say this mostly to neurotic men who say shit like “women are SO SENSITIVE, you can’t even tell them the wage gap is a myth without them spazing out!” Because a “normal man” would know you shouldn’t be trying to argue and denigrate someone if you realistically want them to like you or…

It is extremely important to me to be able to call someone delusional when the person is being delusional, yes. But that is a gender neutral thing for me. You explicitly mentioned the GPG tho and this is a topic where quite some misinformation is being spread by some feminists. Because a “normal man” would know you shouldn’t be trying to argue and denigrate someone if you realistically want them to like you or date you Do i get this right: When a women states that the gender pay gap is 20% i shouldn’t point out that the statistically adjusted gender pay gap is only about 5%, even tho that is the objective reality, because this lessens the probability of the woman liking me? Only having sex with a men is considered to be bad. And many women support this narrative as well. Or how else do you explain that many women don’t wanna date bisexual men, yet most men don’t have a problem dating bisexual women?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/26 01:55 PM

Wont happen. And your assessment that only jealousy matters here is also quite wrong from my view. Many women also support the narrative, that sex with men is devaluing. A good example is that many women don’t wanna date bisexual men, yet few men have a problem dating bisexual women. Many women see men who have sex with other men as lesser or devalued if you will so. So we see, not just men push the narrative that having sex with men is devaluing.

If men want to have a movement similar to egalitarian feminism, that requires men to stop being selfish, quite frankly. I don’t get it. How can men be selfish because they don’t want a movement that centres themselves? Leftist men support feminism, which makes em selfish, because they should found their own gender advocacy group… It doesn’t add up for me.

What has been achieved by feminism in the last 10 years?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/26 12:32 PM

Yeah, women stick around for the responsibility in the absolute majority of cases after having kids. And a mother leaving her child has quite another ring to it than a father leaving his child. It more frond upon societally. And i get that many women don’t wanna risk becoming single mothers.

Sure there are some weird subgroups of feminism out there who basically deny the possibility of a men getting raped by a woman. But feminists also helped to get the law to a point where it was acknowledged even acknowledged, that men can be raped by women. They pushed the idea of rape being gender neutral in the first place. So i think one has to give feminism credit for that.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/26 09:25 PM

I am specifically talking about the situation online. There is a bunch of feminist literature which points out mens problems as well. I also said in the OP that feminism has a track record of caring about mens gender equality issues. My central point is that feminism doesn’t gent perceived that way anymore by many people. Because of online feminism, which doesn’t quite hold up to the standards of academic feminism. And that damages feminism and ultimately also the idea of gender equality.

This view strips women of any agency. From your perspective the relationship between men and women is a bit like between a human and a dog. When the dog misbehaves its the owners responsibility to punish the dog so it learns for the future. So ultimately every misbehaviour of the dog is a failing of the owner, because the owner is responsible for the dog’s training. So the owner “has zero reasons to be upset at the dog’s behaviour”. I can’t speak for all men so i just speak for myself. Two, they vet for the lowest self-esteem, for a woman who will agree to less than nothing This couldn’t be further from the truth for me. I actually find myself gravitating towards women who show a lot of self confidence. When i still went to university, every semester i had a new crush on some professor or teaching assistant cause i don’t find many things more attractive than a woman talking about some difficult to grasp topic with confidenc…

Yeah. This has a few implications sadly. It means that red pillers are not totally wrong for blaming women for staying with abusive men. Of course, victim blaming is bs and the responsibility lays by the abuser. But women should at least be aware of their own biases. That possessiveness is explicitly wanted (but without all the negatives) is something that can actually be described as a “bad” preference. I know all those terms are loaded, but i just try to take it objectively for what it is. Wom…

The second one is when he’s identified a woman he wants to commit to: he can be as possessive I mean you basically just explained that possessiveness is a good thing and that all the smut novels are based around it. Why can you tell women, what they may or may not want? Men are “groomed” into the role of the financial provider quite often. Should we blame women for that? Or dies everyone can like and do what they want?

What do you think the "princess treatment" is that women are expecting in any significant number? This can be all kind of different stuff. It’s not the same thing for all women. Well i don’t know. But what i know is, that it doesn’t make sense to tell men how they should change, when the actual goal is, that everyone does what they want. When the goal ist that everyone should do what they want. Every societal movement like feminism would be morally flawed. Because it tries to challenge people in their ways, and therefore doesn’t support the notion of everyone doing what they want. I am not quite sure if you realise the ideological/political implications of your stance. …

I think it’s fair to say this is just the most straight forward example. Another good example is the notion of princess treatment i think. I don’t say it is a bad thing necessarily, but it would be very naive to believe that this wouldn’t mean emotional labor for the men. I am always kinda hesitant to use the term emotional labor anyways. I tend to like doing things for my significant other. Well i don’t know. I hear all the time from feminists that toxic masculinity is the origin of most bad stuff. That men should stop competing so hard and actually be emotionally available to each others and so on and so forth. Feminists have much to say about what men should change in their behaviour. And they mainly target patriarchal gender norms in their critique. Which i think is totally fair. But when i do the same and critique the patriarchal gendered expectation, that men should take a fin…

Nah, bell hooks says all the right stuff honestly. Some people even misinterpret that as pandering to men or putting on the kids gloves for men. Which is of course bs. bell hooks just realised, that sustainable solutions can only happen if all voices are heard. She’s a good example how academic feminism is very reasonable overall. I’d argue historically, not the act of having sex is relevant for becoming an adult, but having the ability to procreate. Solana never was the face of feminism. Tate arguably is the face of TRP. The difference between them is how popular they are/were within their own movement.

Valerie Solana’s actually said herself that she was just joking. And that was like some 40 years ago? Do you have some more relevant examples? I am quite critical of feminism myself. But in contrast to TRP, feminism is a coherent ideology. Of course there are fringe groups within feminism. But if we compare the most prominent feminist speakers like e.g. bell hooks to the most prominent TRP speakers like Andrew Tate, we can see a huge difference in how rationally sound their arguments are.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 04:39 PM

But isn’t TRP meant to be only taken seriously very selectively? You’re not supposed to take anything Andrew Tate says seriously or are you? Is the advice that i should pimp out women for my sex cam empire part of the canon, that needs to be studied and taken seriously by TRP members, or can you skip those topics in the text book? Why do you think that is, lol? Many bi men hide their bisexuality, because otherwise they are disadvantaged in dating women. Bisexual women are far less concerned with masculinity in male partners as a rule. Probably yes. Not a universal rule tho.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 03:46 PM

Ok, but then let’s be completely fair here and acknowledge another fact. Women do harm other women proportionally (to the total assaults of the gender) more often than men. This is an interesting perspective. And indeed kinda hard to grasp for me as a bi men who considers himself to be sapiosexual. /r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 03:55 AM

Let me give you an example to that that seems very fitting for your post. You claim that men say all men use their options if they have one, so attractive men are less faithful. It is common knowledge that straight women prefer straight men over bi men on average. Can you overcome your 200k year old hard wiring to chase after 17 yo’s? I can. So do most other men. Most men probably think some 17 yo women are physically attractive, but they would never engage them. Which can be due to social pressure, or due to a genuine disinterest in the typical personality attributes of a 17 yo. Or both, or what ever reason. It is quite possible to act against your evolutionary wiring. We just have to set norms as a society.

Yeah, i don’t want to argue against that. From a strictly “civilisational growth” standpoint monogamy is extremely efficient. I just made a point why that’s the case. I tend to believe that the main advantage of a patriarchal monogamous system was the reduction of in- group violence due to an decreased need for mating competition. That’s what gave monogamous societies an advantage over polygynous societies and therefore monogamy became the standard system.

In my view socialisation isn’t something people can have different amounts of. A lack of socialisation would be a form of socialisation as i see it. Everyone is socialised one way or another. And if we want to have gender equality and an efficient mating system, the upbringing and the norms people learn from a young age onwards are very important i think. Yeah, the whole concept of evolution thrives on competitiveness. And i majored in economics so i get the importance of competitiveness in certain cases. Sure, birth rates are an important consideration. Demographic problems arise in basically all developed countries and an abandonment of monogamy could significantly add to this effect. No, the whole concept of a “evolutionary deficiency” is kinda dumb tbh. Evolution is a permanent process of optimisation. Individuals with deficiencies just die without reproducing. So if there are differences in men and women it’s because from a survival perspective those differences make sense. And i think what evolution “did” can be summed up as follows: Men are expandable. So dating is about finding a person that you do like. Which means you will also date people you don’t like. Because i do get your point, it makes it harder to convince them. But that just means that you need to put on the gloves and beat them in their own game. If they don’t speak like you, you have to adopt their language and point out inconsistencies in their ideology in their own “language”. If you just surrender because you can’t talk to someone with a fundame…

However, I have not actually heard from the men here on how women can help. There is a very simple answer to your question. Women can speak to and convince other women who are actively putting down men or just passively reinforcing toxic gender stereotypes. Just like left leaning men should speak to and convince red pillers, that their hegemonic gender stereotypes are outdated. I had many feminists telling me that i should do that as a left leaning men. But somehow feminists oftentimes seem baff…

It’s an interesting thought for sure. But ultimately it skews Maslow’s model quite a bit. Because the sexual reproduction part of the base tier is literally just that. You kinda said that yourself by pointing out how it’s not directly comparable to the other strictly personal needs. If we had any means of non sexual reproduction, this method could perfectly substitute sexual reproduction in the base tier of the pyramid. The reason i still think it’s an interesting thought is, because i personall…

It shocks me how many women we can have here and still have a horrible toxic male culture This made me almost spit my tea out. How can people be so ignorant? Why is a dating situation where men hold the cards a “horrible toxic male culture” but the dating situation generally where women hold the cards is not a “horrible toxic female culture”? Men are not secretly plotting to be bad in high school just so the boys have a dating advantage in college. I can tell you that much. So we can conclude, t…

This post is beyond funny. First of all it’s classist. Just because someone will make a few thousand bucks less than you a month, doesn’t make the person a bimbo. Have you ever considered, that this disgusting mindset might be the reason no one wants an LTR with you? And yeah of course the men are the problem when all the women want 20% of men. Women are wonderful, so it’s not their fault. But the attractive men are just disgusting. Like they don’t even pick you over a fucking nurse - a NURSE!!!

You cant beg for empathy while you have little to no empathy for others. Its that simple. If you don’t give two fucks if no one understands you, fine. You seem to equate “having empathy” to “being nice to everyone”. But that’s just not what empathy is. Empathy is the ability to feel what another person feels. This often leads to the empathic person understanding the motivations of another person and therefore being less ignorant towards this person, which can be interpreted as being nice. But if…

I almost feel like an idiot always making way for people. Are you a men? If yes are you 60+? Because if the answers to this questions are Yes and No, you should ask yourself if you’re really as special as you make yourself out to be here. I agree that most of the people who are making problems are men yes. But i reject the notion that almost no men below the age of 60 would act cooperatively and make way when that’s the most easy solution. I do this all the time. I have several male friends who …

The same applies to self-awareness and empathy. If you never try to be mindful of other people’s feelings, reactions, or perspectives, then you cannot reasonably expect others to extend empathy to you in return. I think it’s weird to frame empathy as a zero sum game. An empathic person should absolutely be willing to be empathic towards someone who is not, because to empathic persons empathy is like your tool for understanding other people. Having empathy doesn’t mean always being super nice to …

I think the most posts on here who follow a clear line of reasoning and use credible sources to back this up are by men. But maybe my perception is a bit biased since there is one female poster on here who always uses communication ala “he said he doesn’t want a women with baggage like kids or trauma, so he dehumanises children” and posts multiple times a day and only ever uses tik tok as a source. You don’t get the analogy it seems. I am not saying women are literally crying about that. I say this framing is totally valid, when you say the framing “men complaining about male financial and status standards is just them whining about not getting their dicks wet” is valid as well. My personal opinion is neither of this narratives is valid and people should not antagonise anyone for expressing how one gets repressed by patriarchal gender norms.

Beauty standards and not getting laid are two different contexts. So are male financial standards and not getting laid Why is this so extremely hard to understand for feminists? Yes, let's criticize capitalism. Let's criticize the financial expectations of men, created by men. Do you not get how silly you sound? You are trying to use the fact that some men created something 3000 years ago as a moral club right now. I am not 3000 years old actually. And i know no one who is. So it wasn’t me or an…

I am not too much concerned with this dude, who’s obviously a troll and set up a tinder profile for social media attention. No, i don’t think most men who complained at some point about mens dating situation did so because they didn’t got hookups. Most men can’t get hookups, that really no big news. It’s more about young men being significantly more often single than young women.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 03:09 PM

Those pesky men rather go fishing than being with wonderful women. Maybe it’s because of all the talk how ridiculously low the bar is and men still failing it. No one’s interested in solving the problems of other genders. Men who complain about their dating situation, commonly get framed as just wanting to get their dick wet. Women who complain about their dating situation get dismissed as chad- chasing Karens. Neither side is taking the other side even remotely seriously. As long as this situation prevails, gender equality progress is on halt and may actually reverse again.

So do you feel like you can understand the male perspective much better, than men can understand the female perspective? Knowing you’re not privileged requires you to also understand the other side. Because you can’t even know how privileged you are compared to the other side, if you do not know their life reality. I think it’s pretty simple. Both men and women are privileged but in different areas. Only insecure people would make a competition out of whom is less privileged.

You seem to be desperate for attention and approval of feminists in spite of an obvious disdain That puts it very well. I always thought feminism is a leftist movement. But if i hold this assumption contradiction pile up. Monoliths are not a monolith. Neither are woman, men nor autists. This phrasing was a bit weird i see. What i meant is that it’s not a lack of morals that leads to some (well bellow 5% i’d say) women liking the gangster stereotype. They actively are attracted to a men that breaks moral expectations. I can’t really say why they like that. It’s oftentimes just boiled down to “they like the danger”, but i guess what’s also relevant is the picture of a men who just takes what ever he wants without asking. “Just be yourself” is the only viable dating advice at all. Maybe if someone doesn’t shower that can be pointed out to. But more precise one should not say “just be yourself” but “figure out who you are”. This step is the most essential one for two reasons actually. If you concentrate on the things you enjoy and are good in you have the best chance to get exceptionally good at something. And being exceptionally good at something opens you many doors in life. Let me give a silly example for this:…

This has not much to do with morals. One can make the objective observation that men are on average sexually attracted to a bigger proportion of women the same age, than vice versa, without making any moral implications. And tbh i think even some red pillers (or maybe you would call em black pilled then, idk) would agree that it is not a moral flaw of woman to be sexually attracted to a smaller proportion of men than vice versa. Yeah, that’s what i imagined too when i imagined a Dan. And therefore i think it’s a valid question why he is less successful than the stereotype of a gangster. I think this has much to do with the expectation on men to “dominate” their environment. Which can ultimately be boiled down to men being expected to behave in a mascu…

As someone who is sapiophile i can confirm that it’s very possible for men to only be attracted to a small percentage of woman. How about just explaining why you expect people to become asexual on the third date? As i said almost all people wouldn’t go into a relationship if they knew there will be no sex at all. Also most women wouldn’t. Are all those people nefarious assholes, or might it be the case that you are just an outlier? Maybe you want no sex at all and therefore think other people should also want no sex as well. Which would be pretty hilarious.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 12:02 PM

If you’re not even entertaining the idea of a relationship without sex by date 3, then relationships were always optional to you. Sex was the main goal. If you’re meaning with relationship “romantic relationship” here, you’re probably just asexual. Almost all people wouldn’t go into a relationship if they knew from the beginning that there will be no sex. If you mean relationship here like “friendship” i get the point. But thinking people get asexual because they like the character of another pe…

Feminists can have their own opinions on dating as everyone does, because it’s not an economic, political, or legal right Why do people not get that legal gender equality is basically achieved? Give me a list please of all the rights men have and women don’t. It’s gonna be a short list isn’t it?

Yeah it’s pretty hillarious. I even saw feminists suggesting men should just reflect really hard how they themselves nurture the patriarchy and try to stop that. This would appeal the most to women. What are the economic, legal, and political rights that you think men don’t have and feminists should fight for? The goal is that women’s rights be equal to men’s rights. Hence EQUALITY. I understand the terminology. And i’d say also the concept of equality. Please correct me if i get something wrong here: My understanding of equality is that if we wanna accomplish equality between two (just to keep it simple, it applies also if we add more genders) groups, all factors that disadvantage one group are relevant and must be solved to accomplish equality. The by far most common response when asking why feminists don’t care about a certain gender equality problem concerning men is that they don’t think it’s too important and men should fix it themselves. I am not questioning the general legitimacy of feminism. I am pointing out, how perpetuating made up “facts” is bad for one’s reputation. Especially if you frame yourself as an academic movement. If you present yourself to be a truth teller (and don’t get me wrong i don’t mean that negatively, feminism has important things to say) you have to be quite careful of what you’re saying. Depends on how you define “radfem”. If we go by the official meaning a radical feminist is someone who wants to abolish all gender norms. A big part of the whole feminist movement subscribed to that idea. But certainly not all of them (i’d argue certainly not even a majority) is also biphobic. It’s undeniable, that biphobic ideas exist within feminism, but it’s more of a fringe position. In my eyes feminism as a whole can only be blamed for not pushing back hard enough against those ideas.

I can't say I've ever run into any significant biphobia You are quite uninformed then. There are streams of feminism which center around lesbianism and declare attraction towards men as inherently suspect and nurturing the patriarchy. This is of course just a small group within feminism, but it also is just one of the most extreme examples. There exist plenty of similar, but mostly less extreme streams in feminism. The notion that men just care about the male gaze and therefore care so little ab…

That’s just my personal experience. I should have said that. I doubt that there are any official statistics on this matter. My perspective is probably biased, since i interact more with feminists than with conservative women. And it is quite possible that stereotyping about bi men is more common among conservative women than feminists. But nevertheless i am concerned about how often i witnessed this behaviour by self proclaimed feminists. It undermines the whole idea of abolishing gender norms, …

Nobody has to spend anything on beauty products. If you’re broke because you bought to much mascara, just say that. If you can’t pull a men without smearing a fortune in your face, well, sad for you. But that’s really not my problem. Maybe just buy less makeup if you can’t afford to go on dates otherwise. It’s pretty straight forward. Should women pay the bill if the dude wears a rolex? He clearly spent so much to impress his date, it would be wild to make him pay his half right?

First of all, not all bi’s are bottoms. Dating a bi men doesn’t necessarily means dating someone who sucks dicks. The comparison between having a preference for not wanting to date people who suck dick and not wanting to date people who sleep around is kinda interesting tho. They are similar in the regard that many people think it’s ok when they do it, but not ok if a certain other group does it. So both cases are strongly tied to gender stereotypes. What personally gets me triggered is when fem…

Well there are women who do more than just refusing to sleep with you. There certainly are women who talk crap about bi men. And unfortunately they are oftentimes feminists. For some feminists it’s their most beloved bs argument to claim men hate women to the point where they turn gay. Being bi is seen as being corrupted, as being anti- women. It’s a shame that those who wanna dismantle gender norms all together are at the forefront when it comes to stereotyping about bi men.

But this would mean they manouvered themselves into a position where they can’t say anymore that e.g. slut shaming is a bad thing. As a bi men i don’t really agree that it benefits women to stereotype about bi men. Just as it doesn’t benefit men to slut shame women. I actually think bi men are on average the better partners for straight progressive women, because they naturally don’t support traditional gender roles.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/26 11:45 AM

The goal of it to my understanding has never been to erase all gender roles, but rather to allow people free choice when and how and which gender roles they take on That is not quite correct. Radical feminism does state exactly that as its goal. That’s why they’re also called gender abolitionists, because their official goal is to abolish all gender norms. So it is clearly hypocritical if a radfem dislikes bi men. And i guess most of them do not. But it is just really easy to attack those who do…

Men are somewhat more likely to be socially isolated than women. They are more likely to say that they are “not meaningfully part of any group/community,” for example. Yeah i read the article. I don’t agree with the assessment that women are more lonely than men. I think there are less women who are socially isolated than men. But i get where you are going with this statement. Many women might have large friend groups. But women tend to be quite competitive with each other and throw their “friends” quicker under the bus than you can say “loneliness epidemic”. This post is a textbook example of starting with a conclusion and then reverse-engineering a narrative to justify it. The core claim that straight men’s dating profiles are “curated for the male gaze” rests on a series of deeply flawed assumptions about motivation, attraction, and gender socialization. First, a profile that is not optimized for what you imagine to be the “female gaze” does not logically imply that men are trying to impress other men, nor that they “do not care” whether they attr…

I disagree. A system is fair when there is equality of opportunity. This is neither the case for dating nor for the job market. According to you the gender pay gap is totally fair. Nobody forces women to take on lower paid jobs. They do this voluntarily. But it’s very short sighted to frame it like that. And the same goes for dating. As long as there are groups who do significantly better than other groups dating isn’t fair. That every system based on supply and demand is a fair system is a lie …

Mh well. It is normal as well that female members of a species are pregnant like all the time. Or at least once a year. That is because as soon as they become fertile the male members of the species will just “rape” them at will. I guess nobody’s advocating for that totally normal behaviour. I don't know what that percentage is, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's roughly the same as the percentage of people who feel same-sex attraction This isn’t quite comparable, since same sex attraction is pretty much set in stone and a preference for older men can dwindle over time. The cheating example works just fine. First of all there are statistics that show women cheat more. And furthermore you are assuming that men and women change topics at the exact same rate. This is pretty unlikely. If either women or men change topics only slightly more often, by your own logic changing topics would be a gendered thing.

So most women don’t even have the experience you say all women are reminiscent about. I think the proportions of men and women who like cnc are roughly equal. Sure, claiming the male loneliness epidemic is caused by feminism is pretty short sighted. Social isolation of women drastically increased as well. I’d argue it’s pretty obvious, that the internet is the main reason for that. 30 years ago the only thing you could do while socially isolated is reading. Nowadays you can binge watch Netflix or play video games. So the perceived drawback of being socially isolated got less extrem. You can still have fun while being socially isolated. But if we look …

Not all men desire the same thing in a woman. If you’re 35 and actively hit on 20 yo’s, then you probably desire physical attractiveness above all else. There is not much to argue about the fact that 20-25 yo women tend to be the most attractive. The key issue is the principle of individualization. If men receive harsher sentences ceteris paribus, meaning for the same offense, the same criminal history, and the same sentencing guidelines, then a group level characteristic is influencing sentencing despite being irrelevant to individual culpability. That is exactly what we would immediately identify as racism if it occurred with race. Drawing inferences about an individual based on statistical patterns of their group, whether consciously …

If we say there is nothing morally wrong with it and most women just don’t have it in them, then we’d have to say also most women who do it don’t have it in them. Maybe that’s not particularly healthy for your psyche. And self destructive behaviour can be seen as morally questionable.

Because if you declare yourself to be fighting, you are not open to constructive discourse that might involve your group being critiqued. Make love not war seems pretty fitting here. But have constructive discourse not war would also be a huge leap in the right direction. But when everyone’s fighting the only thing that happens is everyone getting hurt. Might sound a bit melo dramatical, but i thi…

This is so spot on. If women commit to a relationship they should clearly sell out to the highest bidder. Profit maximisation should be taught in like 8th grade so all women are prepared to set up only fans accounts when they turn 16. Hell, why aren’t women auctioning themselves off already? Wouldn’t that be the best solution? Elon Musk can get a harem and no woman sells herself bellow a fair market price anymore. What a dream scenario.

I do know that yes. I mentioned indians because the OP does as well. Me not mentioning other groups that got oppressed in the past doesn’t mean i am denying their existence. And as i said, in a situation where a minority is oppressed fighting for this minorities equality is warranted. But when the systemic oppression is solved, the partisan approach must be stopped and discussions have to be held in a bipartisan manner. We solved legal gender equality and equality of opportunity between genders.…

The problem with this take is, that feminists would be insanely hypocritical if we accept that you have to read the subtext. Take “women chase chad” for example. Almost all feminists fully reject this statement and would never consider this to be just an allegorical vent about female hypergamy. Female hypergamy is a real thing. There are countless studies on this topic. So you can’t cry about people not interpreting your hyperbolic statements in good faith if you yourself don’t interpret hyperbo…

This post is just pathetic rage bait. Saying autists should just learn social skills is like saying women should not complain about the GPG but just learn to make money. Explaining that people were shitty to you in your childhood is not an excuse to be shitty to people who are not shitty I like the mental gymnastics on that one. Who determines who is shitty or not? This seems pretty subjective. So you keep yourself the option that being shitty is fine, as long as you deem the people you are shit…

This post misses one extremely important point. When women and indians were second class citiziens it was righteous of them to stand up and fight for their rights. But just because you want to change something doesn’t mean you should fight for it. Men are not oppressed as women and indians were. This is something many feminists don’t get. Women aren’t oppressed anymore so fighting is the wrong thing to do. Cooperation would be much more helpful to achieve something now. But feminists most often …

But you do get, that wanting to make a lot of money yourself and wanting someone to just finance you a nice life, are to very distinct things right? Women get rarely critiqued for wanting to make money. They get critiqued for wanting someone to just gift them money.

You simply ignore that there are A LOT of women who do not quietly accept the stuff you mentioned. You literally said cat calling 12 yo’s is just an unfortunate fact of life no one bothers to call out. This is of course extremely wrong. You denying reality at this point. Men get called out for a lot of things. And parts of feminism completely demonise men. They tell you all men are oppressive pigs that would rape their own daughters if they’re bored enough. The second point is all you need to show the hypocrisy. And the sad part is most women did get rejected in the past. Not necessarily in the same way men get rejected, but i’d say most women had at least one situation in their life where they made pretty obvious advances and the guy didn’t act on it. It’s a bit more indirect, but i’d still consider this rejection. And i guess most women wouldn’t wanna stay friends after they tried to shift things romantically for a while but failed. I am pretty divorced from traditional masculinity that’s right. Who are you afraid of that you need some cowboy who protects you? And why aren’t you learning to use weapons yourself if you’re so concerned? A men with a Glock is just as dangerous as a woman with a Glock. I’d argue you have absolutely no rational need for a protector. You just like the idea of such a dude. And that’s totally fine. But don’t expect that many men will fulfil this completely unnecessary role.

Sure, i am completely with you, that the unadjusted wage gap (23%) is a number that doesn’t mean much. Women work part time significantly more often which of course leads to smaller wage increases over time compared to someone who works full time. This and many other factors must be statistically accounted for to arrive at the number which truly just reflects labor market discrimination. I agree with you that feminists tend to concern themselves with non existing problems (e.g. menspreading) and tend to ignore huge leaps in the solutions of certain problems to not take away from the relevance of those problems. I know women for whom this is not true at all. But i gotta agree, that this is a valid observation for many young women. They are so used to men simping for them, that they feel like it’s normal to get romantic gestures and return the favour by just existing. They feel like they don’t have to put any effort in a relationship because they have all the options. Egalitarianism might be the answer yes. Unfortunately feminism makes the problem even bigger. Feminism is explicitly set up to favour the problems of one gender over the other. That was necessary, while women were much more heavily oppressed. Do 13 yo boys or girls are fawning about getting married? I guess it’s pretty obvious which gender is more desperate for relationships. I know quite some women who can’t even handle being single. When their relationships fail, they will go into the next one right away and even admit they need to be in a relationship to feel self worthy. Of course this is purely anecdotal and there might also exist men who operate in such a way. But to me this behaviour seems much more typical for women.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in wanting a partner with resources, if you provide a roughly equal amount of resources as well. I understand not wanting to decrease your own standard of living because you’re dating someone. I talked about financial hypergamy. Why would young men encourage age gap relationships? Those are the main reason why young men are significantly more often single than young women. So it’s definitely in the interest of young men to call out age gap relationships. Young women often frame themselves as so much more mature than young men. Yeah you don’t have to be an asshole to be interesting. You can be interesting for another reason. But for many men being an asshole (and therefore a beast to be tamed) is the most easy and convenient way to make yourself interesting. If you’re interesting for another reason, there is no problem with being nice. But if you’re not interesting being nice makes it even harder to make yourself appeal to young women. Because it makes you even less interesting than you are by default.

Sure if we only speak about this small group of pathologically lying men, i get your point. You can’t just become one of them (it’s actually hard to do for normal people) and you really shouldn’t want to be one. But i think the “nice guy” thing is about something different. It’s not that simple. Of course you shouldn’t pursue a relationship with someone you dislike. I'm unsure what you're thinking is neglect. Women opting out of taking up men's issues isn't neglect. We have no obligation to take these things on. Y'all aren't even oppressed. Some of y'all just don't have the courage to push back against these gender roles of patriarchy. And it isn't up to women to give you a back bone. This is just provocation, nothing more. Even the way you’re wording it shows that provocation is your only goal and finding solutions means nothing to you. Imma show you how t…

Feminists have spent a VERY long time without any men at the table, and with a fair amount of bitterness at their absence. Why should feminism entertain men now? Sou you know it would be better if men would participate, but now you don’t want it anymore, because men waited too long? So it’s just out of principle? I wouldn’t even agree with your premise. I think men are involved in establishing feminist ideals for a long time now. All the laws that got changed wouldn’t have been changed if men co…

I’d say mutual interest is kinda required for two people going on a date. If one has no interest in the other person one should just decline the offer. In my eyes it’s dishonest to agree on going on a date if one has no interest in the other person.

This comment makes me sad. So the mens rights movement is riddled with misogynists? Well can you really critique that, when considerable parts of feminism are riddled with misandrists? That is because of the bipartisan approach. If there would be one big movement where men and women unite to work towards gender equality, this would lower the number of misogynists and misandrists among progressive people considerably. And let’s be real. It is very easy for you right now to claim the work of other…

I my eyes this take is quite naive. Because if you say men are on their own to fix their problems you 1. neglect that the support of men was important to achieve feminist goals and 2. more importantly you will then also have no say in how men do this exactly. MGTOW did literally exactly that. Not fulfilling classical gender roles is central for the narrative of MGTOW. And yet feminists and supporters of MGTOW hate each other. This is because MGTOW frames itself as a movement that’s necessary cau…

I absolutely agree that abortion should be legalised. I disagree that abortion not being legalised means that women are considered less valuable than cell clumps. I live in a country where abortion is technically illegal but there is a law which prohibits its prosecution, so every women who wants an abortion (and can pay for it) can have an abortion in germany. We also have universal health care, so it is a big point that women have to pay for it by themselves. And i’m advocating for changing th…

But seriously comparing Manspreading to male suicide? That's like apples and hand grenades I didn’t want to say it is necessarily a useful comparison in and of itself. Of course the severity is not comparable at all. And everyone but straight up misandrists would agree with that. But it is a comparison that is relevant for understanding how men perceive feminism. It is about this huge imbalance, that feminists even talk about stuff like men’s spreading and what should be done about that, but not…

I agree that it should be that way. But it obviously isn’t, when men are labeled just as ally’s and not as equal members of the movement. An ally may not define your own narrative. An ally supports you if your interests overlap. Try posting on r/AskFeminists that feminism should focus more heavily on male issues and the post will probably be blocked. Maybe not, but most people there will disagree and call you antagonistic.

Alright i gotta surrender. If you don’t agree that curing cancer and curing diabetes is completely unrelated and gender problems are not i can’t say anything that might change your mind. And if you say the provider- caretaker asymmetry is as unrelated as finding a cancer- or- diabetes cure, i actually think i’m wasting my time here, with someone who argues in bad faith.

Those aren't "different problems." They are related, which is why shelters separate by species and don't house cats alongside dogs. They are kept in completely separate areas where there's no chance of interaction and they won't see each other. I don’t understand what you wanna say. It is very obvious that if you achieved “no street dogs” you haven’t achieved “no street cats” automatically. That is obviously not the case. Same for cancer and diabetes. Having a cure for cancer wont magically heal…

I could come up with some concrete examples sure, but i think it’s more useful to answer that more abstractly. Since single examples could seem not quite as important. Right now many feminists state that the goal of feminism is gender equality. But the actual actions feminists take almost exclusively focus on how to improve the situation for women. And this is understandable. This is the historic goal of feminism so i don’t critique this approach in general. If there is significant inequality yo…

I agree that the standards feminism achieved in western societies must be uphold and defended. But as i said in the OP, the main question changes from “how do we achieve this” to “how do we keep it as the status quo” (of course there are also some problems left that still need to be solved, this is about the greater picture). And i think to really establish gender equality as a societal norm that is (almost) impenetrable, it has to become a movement for everyone. That’s why democracy is such a s…

If you put cats into the dog shelter, do you think they won't "affect each other in any significant way?" If you put dogs into the cat shelter, do you think they won't "affect each other in any significant way?” As i said. It’s not about two different problems. It’s about one problem, namely gender equality. Feminism isn't about "gender equality," it's about advocacy for the rights and needs of females. Egalitarians have corrupted the message but they are wrong. It's not about advocating for men…

You summed that up very well. And yes exactly what you’ve described happens to me quite often. Feminists tend to say: “well if you really want gender equality, then you’re a feminist”. But i think what makes this argument very weak, is that big parts of feminism see male allyship as the only acceptable way for men to partake in feminism. As the “oppressive gender” men are just not allowed to shape the narrative in a way women can. And therefore i am obviously not a feminist in the sense that i a…

Alright, imma engage with your direct line of argumentation then, but i gotta warn you it will be a little bit condescending, because in my eyes you made a very obvious error in your argumentation. You definitely can open a cat shelter without opening a dog shelter at the same time. And yes you can engage in cancer awareness without having to focus on every other disease. But achieving “no street dogs” or “no street cats”, can be seen as entirely different problems wich do not affect each other …

Yes, but this should change the perspective and the way one operates. It is no longer a viable solution to treat men as only just ally’s. If you really want a new status quo, that doesn’t get vilified but accepted by basically everyone, you need a movement that gives everyone the same voice. Otherwise it is set in stone, that the movement that claims to have the only viable answers gets part of an oppressive structure itself. And everyone who gets excluded from having opinions that matter, has a…

Yeah as a leftist men you’re pretty much alone with the opinion that men shouldn’t pay for both. I mean sure there are liberal women who support this notion too, but there are also self proclaimed feminists who argue men should pay for both. I’ve heard the most ridiculous of arguments from feminist when it comes to this topic. Some argue that they spend so much on make up and their appearance in general, that it’s only fair if men pay for the date. I mean this arguments can easily be shut down b…

So it is true that women have all the leverage? Because otherwise women would compete with the “quality of life of being single” as well right?

Do i get this right that cold approaches are only bad if they come from men? You just mentioned the unwillingness of women to just approach someone, but not that it’s of course inappropriate as well if you ban all cold approaches.

but at least in academic debate favoring neutrality would weaken your case? Absolutely not. In academic work, neutrality doesn’t weaken your argument, it legitimizes it. Being academic means you don’t start by taking a normative stance. You don’t argue for a preferred outcome; you evaluate what the evidence supports. Normative claims can be discussed, but they must follow from empirical data or rigorous reasoning, not preference. So an academic approach isn’t about “arguing for one side.” It’s a…

A six pack with 20% body fat is most certainly not possible. For a six pack you gotta be below 15%, some people gotta be below 10% to have visible abs.

And I don’t know where we’re getting this belief that men don’t also fuck around in their youth and then try to settle down later in life Let me enlighten you. There are considerably more men than women who don’t do that. In the age category 22-34 13% of women say they haven’t had sex in the last year and 24% of men. So while it’s of course false to say men wouldn’t do that at all, it is well documented, that women engage more in fucking around in their 20s . The single biggest reason for that p…

Yeah ok but that seems more like overestimating your ability to fight rather than overestimating your physical strength. I think basically every men has a pretty good idea that they’re stronger than 95+ percent of women (similar age) and could rank their physical strength in a set of men pretty accurately just by looking at the other men. But i agree, when it comes to fighting, many men tend to overestimate their abilities.

I just know it for a fact that when you see men say they’re into these kinds of women, he is 100% capping. Often these girls are for only short term fun Right, because no men ever was into short term fun. Never happened and will never happen. In fact all men do, is fantasising about getting married all day long.

I think it is totally fine for feminists to uphold that gender norm. But the moment you say you’re a radical feminist (aka gender abolitionist) and uphold this gender norm you’re making a laughing stock out of yourself. You can’t argue for just abolishing the gender norms you happen to dislike. That is intellectual surrender. But for all “non- radical” feminists i can’t detect any hypocrisy.

Yeah i think it’s really telling to constantly tell everyone that you don’t need a men. Like of course you don’t. Nobody needs a romantic relationship. It’s not required for literally anything. So it feels like they’re trying to convince themselves of something. Since we established that nobody needs a romantic relationship, it becomes obvious that the real question is: “do you want a romantic relationship?”. So it would make much more sense to go around and tell people that you don’t want a rom…

So basically the tables have turned and men don't like it. Sure, why would they like it? Especially since many women say they’re advocating for equality not turning the tables in their favour. This seems like only abusing the idea of gender equality to get more power.
