This was a common courtesy that you should extend to anyone. you were already doing it. I presume if you were already standing there waiting for it you would have done the same thing for another guy. This is not the same as Nice Guy syndrome.

Why are these guys getting the girls? They're physically fit, they have hobbies and interests which makes them seem like they're doing something besides just sitting around the house, they have a circle of friends so they can meet women through friends. I don't think it's that women love hockey, I think that these guys have something going on that you don't. Go get physically fit, find something that you're good at, and get a circle of friends, and then you should be in there!

Just like you got busy and didn't have time to text, he can too. Don't panic. People aren't always waiting by their phone or computer. Sometimes I leave my phone in my car or else the battery dies and people think I've dropped dead. Calm down.
