Nope. He’s an atheist. Just a very insecure one.

He was deeply insecure about his “skinny legs” and felt like the long Johns made his legs loom bigger. Weird, I know.

My ex used to wear long Johns, year round under his jeans. Like the same pair of them, in the middle of summer. He wouldn’t wash them regularly either. 🤮

You keep doing you. People are going to hate. It’s best to not engage, but simply put your headphones in until the show starts. Show them how much queen energy you have. Good luck and keep being the badass you are!

You definitely need an attorney you trust who will give you good advice about how to move forward. Do you have access to accounts? Do you have an accountant that will show you the accounts? Do you have access to his private computer? Try and get access to documents and make copies of everything.

Exactly!! That shit makes me so mad. No second date for guys who lie about their height. Why do these guys think we won’t find out they lied? Do they really think we are that dumb?!

I was just talking with my step mom about this. Her husband (not my dad) has taken such poor care of his health and how it’s somehow her and other peoples fault that he’s in such poor health. I brought up that another reason I find my boyfriend so attractive is that he goes to the dentist twice a year and sees his family doc for a yearly check up. My NVM ex didn’t go to the dentist once in the 10 years we were together. Yuck! I will never be with someone who doesn’t value their mental, physical …

It was my mom’s birthday last weekend and I tried to get a reservation at one of her favorite restaurants and there weren’t any available. I told my boyfriend that we’d have to wait for a table when we got there. He said “why don’t I go there 30 minutes early and put our names down so you guys won’t have to wait so long?” This gesture made my mom tear up. Edit:grammar

I went to residency with a guy who was kicked out of residency after he was alleged to have sexually harassed several female colleagues and medical students. He was training to be an OB/Gyn. Thankfully, he won’t ever practice medicine again. I agree that male gynecologist are a creepy bunch.

I wish I would’ve kept my last name. I got divorced and then changed it back to my maiden name. My son has a different last name than me, which used to bother me, but I got over that. Plus I have my doctorate and didn’t want to forever be Dr. ex husbands last name. I think a lot of professional women don’t change their names but go by their husbands last name in their personal lives.

I used to disassociate during sex and dealing with my past traumas via EMDR has made my sex life so much more enjoyable. I can know orgasm looking into my partners eyes when I previously used to keep my eyes closed.

Reminds me of my ex husband. Out of rehab, a month later is in a serious relationship, then 4 months later his pick-me girlfriend lets him move in with her and her 2kids and now he works for her company. SMH at the red flags.

Thank you for posting this. I have felt needy and clingy in so many past relationships. Now that I’m with a man that exhibits a ton of high value traits I realize that I’m a normal human, with needs and desires and he never makes me feel bad for asking for what I want or need. It’s quite refreshing to feel validated.

I can attest this still happens. When I was in medical school and residency, it would be a line up if people doing pelvic exam after pelvic exam on anesthetized patients. Starting with the attending, then 1-2 residents and then 1-2 medical students. It always made me feel icky but I never spoke out against it. Oh, how I wish I would’ve said something.

Yes to this. My NVM ex husband used to criticize my buff arms and back, saying “have you thought about not lifting so much?!” I never stopped lifting, but did feel insecure about my arms/back for the longest time because I thought I looked too manly. Then when I left I realized he was saying all of this due to his own insecurities because I looked physically more buff than him. I never looked manly, I looked beautiful and in great shape. He was a skinny-fat, bitch. Edit: grammar and spelling mis…

My lvm narc-ex did this exact thing. “I never hit you!” Yeah, but you destroyed so much more than breaking my face. It’s been two years of intense therapy and I can finally say that I’m going to be okay and actually not have to convince myself.

Thank you for this. I left an emotionally, abusive narcissists when my son was just 2. I’m happier than I’ve been in YEARS! Thanks to FDS, EMDR and the love and support from my community, I’m a better friend and mother. I’m finally at a point where I’ll be fine if I never meet another man.

Listen to NYT The Daily’s episode from today about Japan’s declining birth rate. There are similarities to what’s now happening in the us. Mostly it comes down to gender inequality in the workplace and in the home and Japanese women are sick of it!

Exactly! I experienced this when I finely left my ex after he was injecting drugs, yet according to his mom it was still my fault he’s an addict. I made him that way. Please. No, you made him this way. They are both enmeshed in each other, it’s gross. It’s not my problem anymore. My LV-ex has a new girl that can worry about that toxic dynamic.

From my experience with my narcissist ex-husband, I’d say that’s correct. He doesn’t use therapy to be better, he uses therapy as a way to “prove” he’s not the problem.

This article resonated with me so much. I’m so thankful I never got to the self loss part of my relationship with him. I was close, but left him before he completely destroyed me as a person. I find myself still missing him, even after almost 2 years of separation and mostly being no contact. We have a son together so we have to communicate, but I’ve worked so hard to limit my interactions with him, for my mental health.

My ex husband once told me (actually multiple times) “your back muscles are so buff, have you considered not lifting so much?” Umm nope. I should’ve seen that as a red flag and left then.

I’m a single mom with a 4 year old, too. My ex is definitely trying to be a good dad, but he’s spoils him so much and it’s making it so hard to continue to set boundaries especially when it comes to material objects.

I was married 6 years, divorced November 2019, but left in April of 2019. There were lots of red flags especially regarding his drug use, and when he starred using methamphetamine and became psychotic, I left. He refused to go to rehab so I filed for divorce. Life post divorce has been very eye opening to the gaslighting, controlling and abuse I suffered during our marriage. I’ve dated a few guys, but haven’t settled down. My NEX isn’t an alcoholic but an addict to opiates and eventually meth. He dabbled with opiates, mostly pills, but never seemed to have a problem. Then he stole medication from his lab job, and nearly got kicked out of school. This was a year after we married. We stayed together as I wanted to be the supportive wife, but this snowballed into him using IV meth, hallucinating and me finally leveling up (with my son) and kicked him out. After this he refused to go to rehab. Only after he was arrest…

Ugh. This disgusts me. I’m a physician and I am called nurse, or hun all the time. People look at me so surprised when I say I’m their doctor. Female doctors reduce mortality, so you all should be glad to have women taking care of you. #micdrop

I was with my NEX for 10 years, married 6, and the repulsion for sex started before we even got married. He was lazy, skinny fat, stayed on his computer for hours a day and then would expect me to just be ready to fuck when he was ready. There was so intimacy. He would just get up and leave after sex, no cuddling. I think I lost my desire for sex when I felt like it became a chore for us. Neither one of us enjoyed being kind, loving to each other. It was always tit for tat. That along with his w…
