Girl, wait til they keep dating younger women like one after another. My ex literally tells me he’s not even trying to date younger they are just the only women that seem to be interested in talking to him. And I believe him because at a certain age women just get to old to deal with his crap. But all the women he dates have a lot of mental health stuff and chronic health issues, so part of it might be him preying on the vulnerable. Either way you did your lesson with this guy let the next girl …

This is bringing up fond memories of a ex that dumped me everytime he ran into a girl he had a crush on and then the next day called to say he made a mistake. I was super young and always took him back. The self doubt about your own worth these men instill is a real thing.

100%. I have a girlfriend he gets r*ped on most dates she goes on. She says no. They say ok, but then they scare her into it anyways. Then she tells me it’s somehow her fault. And I have to nod along because if I call her on it I know she’ll just hide stuff and be more reckless. Some women are both amazing, enduring, inspiring creatures and sooo exhausting at the same time.

Ya. Definitely the risking the girl he likes part is bs. There’s no justification for the cheating really but he was also technically kidnapped.

In Upload I will say it’s a bit of a hostage situation though. Can you really break up with someone who could nix your life? Not to support the behavior, just to say this one stands out as not as straight forward. But ya, most films seem to portray cheating men as the misunderstood underdog, but if a women even smiles at another man she’s a total wh*re.

Lol. You’re just describing all of healthcare at this point. One of my clients told me today the difficulties they’re having while their family member is in hospital. She said everyone is so burned out and rude rate now. Except the doctors… wonder why…

My mom after my husband and I split- called to check on him, offered to take him out to dinner, asked if I thought he would be alright. All things she has never in her life done for me. Now she’s out of my life and constantly trying to get back in. It’s important to remember self respect is thicker than blood.

Seriously, if they want to help us leave us alone and refuse to associate with their rapey friends (or if they’re the rapey friend stop being it). I don’t remember asking for a teaching position.

Honesty. I think honesty is the most dangerous rhetoric therapy teaches us. “Good relationships are built on honesty.” we’re taught. We hear “Good men are looking for a good, honest woman.” Or the minute you break up with them men shouting “That lying B*tch!!” Total honesty from women makes us easier to control. It stops us from discussing our men’s bad behavior with other women behind their backs. It stops us from keeping an emergency fund. It gives men the opportunity to see when we’re waverin…

I believe coercive rape is absolutely the most prevalent form of rape, whether they get it from us through fear, pity, or the use of societal pressure/obligation. I actually can’t think of a woman in my life who hasn’t been coercively raped. Can anyone here say they’ve never been pressured into sex they don’t want?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/01/22 08:56 PM

I adore living on my own. I did a five year relationship like this and loved it. I find most men want to live with us to reap the free benefits. I can’t think of any real benefits for the woman though. The money saved on rent is lost in additional groceries (even if they pay for half they eat more), cleaning (because they’re less likely to be bugged by the mess), time, and space.

Honestly seeing their true side makes such a difference in getting over them. When my ex and I broke up so much of the manipulation was around had sad he was and how destroyed he was. Little did he know that our daughter’s iPad was logged into his account (luckily push notifications were off and she was too young to find where the messages were), so I could see all the things he was writing to other women, all the lies he was telling me. I mean I feel like this denies all the work women have done for 1000s of years to support society. We haven’t been laying around tanning for the past few millennia. If they mean our work has only been valued since the 1960s I call shenanigans. And if they say we’ve only been compensated fairly since the 1960s, errrr, wrong again. The only thing that may have happened in the 1960s is the beginning of the acknowledgment that what women do is work. It’s not nothing, but we have a lot further to go.

I felt bad after a date I went on with a guy. He went on for most of it about his grandma being sick and nearly dying. He was going to go visit her after our date, so even though the date was just meh I messaged a few days later to see how she was (I’m a nurse who works with palliative people regularly). Well he essentially told me to back off and he’s not interested. Even though I literally only asked if his grandma was feeling better. My bad. Remind me not to show men human decency.

I think it’s hard for society to understand sometimes that there are parents, not just men, that take pleasure in our pain, and unfortunately the system is not set up to protect us from them. When people talk about boundaries and getting other people to respect them they are missing the fact that boundaries aren’t for other people. They’re for ourselves. And they’re how we teach ourselves that we are worthy of being protected and cared for. I’m happy you cared for yourself enough to try to remov…

And Friday the 13th is bad luck because Freya, the goddess of women, rules Friday. I explained that misogyny is so deeply interwoven in our society we don’t even know it. The challenge with being raised in these beliefs is they become subconscious programming. Ya. I just feel like it would be better to be able to communicate with them. I would want details about what went bad, not to say their experience isn’t valid, just that what they didn’t like might not be an issue for me. Plus they might not have even noticed red flags since most people aren’t FDS minded.

I always say if they want to make a dating app that women actually want to use all they have to do is allow women a way to connect with women who have previously gone on dates with the men they’re matching with.

I was friends with a guy for years who did just this (🤡). He would literally call the waiter back to order more when he realized it was my turn to pay. They will capitalize off you any way they can ladies, and you will never get it back from them financially or in any other form of support.

It’s actually still legal in a number of States (or was a few years ago) for parents to give permission for their children (I think 14 and over) to get married. But what isn’t obvious is that actually means they can “make” their child get married and until their child is of legal age they have no way of filing for a divorce. By then they often have had children with the man they are married off to and don’t want to risk losing them by leaving. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_marriage_in_th…

And I’ll add to what others have written here- Needing to have a “talk” every time you don’t want to do what they want. For my ex every time I didn’t want to have sex (which he wanted an excessive amount, like 2-3 times per day) we had to have a “talk” about what was “wrong”. To the point where it just sometimes felt easier to give in and have sex instead of having an hour long psychology session on why I didn’t feel like it. Similar to guys wanting “closure” when you break up. Talking can often…

Ask them to tell you about “the one that got away.” (You can even comfort them into telling you by saying “everyone has one.”) Even if they vaguely mention someone it’s time to exit. You can never live up to the pretend version of someone from their past that they’ve built up in their head. Holding onto past relationships in an idealized way is also a method of emotionally isolating yourself from people currently in your life. I dated a guy from Peru who was a self-proclaimed feminist, but as I pointed out to him, you have to look at when your country started giving women rights to understand how far along feminism has progressed in their society. It’s where the guy (or any person) sets things up so you’ll feel like you’re pitted against another person. Sometimes parents will do it by telling one of their kids they should do something for them because their other kid would do it for them. Similarly this guy is setting up the situation so OP will feel both competitive with the BFFs and also like she can’t complain about anything because the BFFs are cool with it.

One of the greatest illusions in society is that all men are powerful. Men are not innately powerful. They only have the power they take or that is given to them. And more often than not it’s just given to them. This creates a sense of weakness because realistically they rarely “pull themselves up” and the mental muscles required to persevere are left weak and under used. There is a reason men are so afraid of things like FDS and independent women and it has a lot to do with what will happen whe…

Sometimes I like to pay attention to couples out in the wild. Sure, sometimes they seem happy, but often it looks like a lot of awkward silence or a lot of one-sided convos. I spent so many years compromising like that. I’ve been enjoying the “selfishness” of listening to podcasts on topics I like, watching whatever movie I like, spending hours doing stuff just for me. Ok. I’m just going to admit my inner nerd here. But one of the few things I’ve found enjoyable lately is Star Trek: Discovery. Most of the main characters are women and they’re kickass! Misogyny went out with the spaceship. And if any race of aliens is sexist they can be blown up. Soooo comforting.

Love this! On a side note, when I love a clearly misogynistic rap song I’ll download the song they sampled from instead. Half the time it’s just as good if not better. So here’s your J.Cole replacement fix- https://youtu.be/n1WSC99ANnQ

Oh Girl! I hear you. This is my sister and I. I consider her my best friend, but I cut our abusive mom off a year ago and every time my sister is upset about her guess who she takes it out on. It sucks. We’ve been tight our whole lives, but the fact is sometimes you have to remove yourself from their lives so they have no one to scapegoat their misery on. You can’t win the race for them by dragging their fighting body over the line. Leave her to her own problems and hopefully she’ll be back when…

Exactly. The term empowered fails to recognize that women are naturally powerful and society is geared to suppress that. We don’t need empowerment. We need freedom and support to use our own capabilities. Empowerment refers to the allowing of us to momentarily use our facilities but it isn’t a permanent transfer of power. It’s a temporary loan to distract us from the fact that they don’t want to reorganize society in our favour. It’s like being handed a cookie and a head pat while they walk arou…

Yes! I’ve heard that quite a bit from my friends that work in tech. I definitely notice a lot of entitlement in guys that are more tech oriented. I’m not sure why. For healthcare I notice a lot of the free therapist expectation even though nurses make nothing near what a therapist makes, and it’s not really part of the written job description. It’s just expected. And the government where I live doesn’t want to put any funding into mental health, so nursing becomes a catch all. How convenient.

Honestly, I’ve been in nursing over 15 years and I find it to be a type of grooming for abuse that’s very insidious. I do long term nursing with clients in our care for many, many years under a system that is very broken and it often baffles me how much our company directs the failures of the system back onto my coworkers (fellow nurses) and how often my coworkers assume it really is their fault. I think we need to be very wary of female dominant professions because they seem to be inherently op…

I’ll never understand the women that push other women to have babies. Men I get. They don’t know what the heck they’re talking about. But I’m absolutely amazed how many women pushed me to have a kid and the minute I was pregnant they all started saying “Omg, you’re never going to sleep again.” Where were the warnings earlier? Support the child free women in your life. Tell them the truth about the sacrifice and cost. Having kids is an acceptable life choice, but why are women blind siding each o…

I absolutely hear you. I work with sick people in their homes and often have to deal with 30/40/50 year marriages where men were junk and women bent over backwards to look after them. 9/10 if the woman gets sick first the men want to know how to get rid of them. If the man gets sick first the wife will absolutely kill herself trying to keep him home and receive no gratitude for it. You can imagine the advice I give. If you can switch off doing couples counseling I’d do that. It’s hard to help tw…

This is exactly how I feel about this topic with the slut shaming. Although I’m not bi, I often find it funny when girl friends worry about someone thinking they’re a slut. Who are you telling about you sex life?? Men have been keeping their sex lives on the low down for millennia. Why tf are we broadcasting this stuff? Do you. Have fun. Wear protection. That is all.

Do me next! Do me next! I seriously wish I had your brain to break down my dating this way. But I would take your conclusion further and correct it from “so many men struggle with how much attention to give a woman” to “women struggle with men not knowing how much attention to give a woman.” I would make the assumption that they don’t struggle (or think about it) too much at all. The challenge seems to be that men are raised to believe they are worthy of all things and women are raised to believ…

I always have the same problem. The guys I’ve pursued were lazy, mommy-wanting men and the men who chased me were controlling and exhausting. Must be time to throw that whole half of the species out.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/04/21 03:52 PM

Yup. The easiest way for your friend to find out if he’s interested in her or the convenience of her is to turn down the option of living with him. If he keeps dating her anyways and doesn’t try to negotiate her into changing her mind then she can consider it. Otherwise the only other way to find out if he’s using her is after it’s too late.

Ya, unfortunately this can’t happen because much like serial killers often target easy prey (prostitutes, homeless people, young women), men do not actually hurt and kill women because they’re “angry”, they kill them because they feel powerless and scared. Obviously this is a subconscious thing and I’m not trying to create pity for them, but the fact is they won’t actively hunt Chads because it would greatly reduce the chance of them “succeeding” and thus proving they are “strong” and “brave” (i…

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, and I second the gratitude for what FDS has brought us! I only found out about codependency as an addiction about a year ago. (Why aren’t we teaching people this stuff in the mainstream?!) I never joined the CODA group but I had joined some CODA Facebook groups. They made me pretty sad to hear how trapped in their own victimhood everyone seemed. And I agree the advice was pretty lackluster. Luckily around the same time I came across the book Adult Chi…

You are essentially describing the witch trials. Historically we pretend they burned women for magic, but what they burned them for was not towing the line. The fact is if we don’t give men our power they have no power, and that scares the crap out of them.

I had a therapist gaslight me for two years worth of weekly visits. As someone who was raised codependent but unaware of this (something a therapist should help you discover) I completely fell for her stating I “needed” the weekly therapy and went into great debt because of her, despite making little to no progress over the two years. My suggestion (or what worked for me) is to also consider carrying on your own mental health investigations. I did this by listening to the Therapy Chat podcast an…

This. ☝️ A guy told me on our first date he was a drug dealer 5 minutes in (he’d at least known to hide this in our prior conversations) and I acted cool with it and interested the whole date just so he wouldn’t hide that fact from the next girl. The minute I got home it was block & delete. Until they come up with a proper warning system for women this is the only this we can help each other.

I’ve been a long term yoga and meditation teacher and I’ll just say the most you can do is waylay them for a bit. Dissociate. Distract yourself with other focuses, maybe fake sick for a while so you can lay in bed on your own. But “getting rid” of emotions is so unhealthy to do and it can make you sick. I think the better plan might be to go stay with a family member or friend you trust. Or fake a reason to leave for a bit and maybe book an Airbnb for the week and just grieve. Obviously the othe…

I also find men often denote the term “dream girl” to women who reject them. Especially if they weren’t able to lock them down through kids or a marriage first. Every time I’ve asked a guy who mentions a dream girl what characteristics made her the “dream” they are hella vague about details. Although not asking for anything from the guy is often one of them. But from the stories they tell me I know the girl didn’t ask for any major commitment because she wasn’t that into the guy. It feels like t…

My 70 year old therapist was the worst for this kind of stuff. She was always pushing me into relationships to help me “grow” whilst never mentioning the fact that I was codependent (I didn’t find out until I left her). The sad fact is the older generations come from a time where women needed men to survive. Sometimes they can’t understand our generation. You shouldn’t have to convince her of your reality. You’re not trying to convert someone to your religion, just get help.

100% this! And the thing is we pretend we start out on equal footing, but really we start out with less support, have to work harder, and have society working against our success. It’s not how high you climb, it’s how deep was the hole you climbed out of. Then throw in the fact that women are naturals at EQ and completing emotional labour, as well as natural multi-taskers. I mean I’m not even sure we can put men on the same scale as us.

The funny part is you give an ugly man a chance and he thinks to himself “I knew it! I knew I was awesome!” And yet if a woman thinks she’s even slightly beneath the man she’s dating in any way (looks, finances, personality...) she’ll spend the entire time with imposter syndrome. It’s so crazy!!
