Interesting conversation, companionship, child-rearing, cooking, cleaning, sex, perspective... the point is that she shouldn't be dead weight, along for the ride, testing and complaining and challenging the whole way. She, and all the people you invest your time in, should contribute positively to your life.

who was arrested in a Miami park known for gay sex with a man who now owns a gay porn company. I am not a Rubio fan, but this is not true. According to the linked article in the Miami News Times, Barrios, who Rubio was arrested with in the park, owned a building, leased by his property management team, to a "Digital Media" company. According to the article, he was not aware of their activities.

I am probably near your dad's age. I would want to be told because I would want to make my own choice. I also would not want to burden my kid with the secret. You also don't know how your dad feels about your mom, this may bring clarity and allow action that he will feel grateful for later on. Your relationship with both of them will likely suffer greatly if you continue to harbor this secret.

Thanks for that insight, I think some couples do live a lifestyle not too different from that of couples in the 1950s. In some of those cases I have always felt that a reasonable amount of alimony for a limited period of time could be appropriate.

This information should be provided after the offer is made and accepted, conditional on background checks. So the salary negotiations would be complete at that point right?

Great reminder. I had several thoughts Regarding your application I couldn't help but think "Chad doesn't set up family vacations, handle every detail and plan activities." He does what he wants and others join in or not. Expecting any "credit" from the wife isn't realisitic. There is a whiff of covert contract here. As an related AWALT example, I took my daughters to a theme park from open to close last summer for one of their birthdays and as the park was closing they both said "thanks so much…

How can I accurately judge my own SMV? I can bring a lot to the table in a relationship. I'm certainly bringing more than she is. She needs me more then I need her. I haven't tested my SMV with anyone else so it was a gross estimate. Imagine you are flat broke, unemployed but with a wardrobe, in a crowd of men your wife regularly encounters in her daily life. What is your SMV to a woman newly arrived in town?

I started RP telling myself that divorce wasn't an option and dread was a betrayal of my vows but gradually I have changed my mind. In reality I could and maybe will leave her if things get bad enough. I do have the option to leave and take away most of my resources even if I don't divorce her. You have to be honest with yourself that your love and commitment is not unconditional. Even if you never intend to go there, making that admission to yourself, and subtly allowing her to become aware of …

I can feed myself, and I get more than enough appreciation from work. The only thing my wife is the sole-supplier of is sex.
/r/MarriedRedPill06/11/15 04:57 PM
2

Yes, it is a catch-22. No woman is worth all the effort and focus that 8 levels of dread require, on top of all I provide for her, just for sex. I have higher priorities and other interests that I consider more important than going out of my way to show her how valuable I am and create dread. But life without sex with a woman sucks. So I am stuck doing things that suck to avoid a life that sucks, and at this point, all of it sucks.

In the context of the old and new testament, adultery was sleeping with another man's wife. A married man sleeping with a single woman is not committing adultery. Sleeping with a prostitute is not committing adultery. In this context if your wife refused to have sex, you had the option to get an additional wife. You could not divorce wife 1, you needed to continue to care for her and even love her.

That was a great post, I will re-read and try to find 1-2 to mix things up with. Regarding the house, with older teens, the entire house is occupied. It was a lot different even 5 years ago when we had a firm bedtime at 9pm and 1-2 hours to interact as a couple. Anyone who thinks toddlers are the worst cockblockers hasn't lived in a house with 3 teens.

I manage a lot of people and can't really do my job remotely. Life with a long commute is very taxing and I am sure it is part of the issue, I have a lot less energy to invest in flirting and my energy levels are lower etc. That is why I am considering getting a small apartment.

Not trying to speak for everyone but about 2% of women my age (+/- 10 years) are single/divorced/solo and are just awesome to hang with. Funny, entertaining, smart, great personalities. They tend to be more fun in mixed groups, but in a pinch they can be great to hang with 1-on-1. There are another 5% of women that would be cool to chill with but are married so I wouldn't consider them for a friend. Even so, I almost always have something better to do than hang out with them. I wouldn't word it the way she did, but I think it is in the right direction. Using RP terminology: A woman should wait to give up sex until she has secured the relationship. How many posts have I read pointing out that women overestimate their SMV and give sex to higher SMV men expecting a relationship that never materializes. If she secures the relationship first, she will always fail with higher SMV men, and will spend her time finding men with lower SMV that she is nonetheless attracted to. …

Stop worshiping time with your son at this young age and focus on the big picture. If you care enough to be part of his life when it really matters in a year or two then get your focus right now. Play the long game and do it right. Your wife and son need a leader. If you can't lead her out of this mess, at least lead yourself to somewhere you want to be.

Just do what you do. Be you. Eat what you want, when you want. Relax the way you want. Spend time the way you want, where you want, with whom you want. Be welcoming if she elects to join you. Radiate joy at your happy, happy life. This will require that you not spend most of your time in the spiraling pit of misery your residence has become.

If you like having her in your life, and understand that this is not going to be the end of it, $150 is a screaming bargain, and far less than what you will eventually be in for if you have kids. If you told her you would cover her insurance, then either leave her or get her covered. You sound very young. Life is very long. Is this who you want to be with for a very long time?
/r/MarriedRedPill21/10/15 08:12 PM

Me too. I think that where I am at right now is that she isn't worth all the shit I went through to try to sort it out. Even if I was doing it wrong, it was with good intentions but none of that matters. Now that I have more of a clue I just can't bring myself to care if it makes a difference. All the advice about how to escalate is wasted on me because I am not willing to do anything only for her even if it means sex for me.

If you really have a plan, and are committed to it, then tell her you have a plan to work on you and let her know that if she isn't willing to wait that is ok with you. No more. If she wants to leave, that is on her. Then get busy. Keep lifting, get the readings done and start on the 12 levels of dread.

I am stuck. My wife adds value, cooks, cleans gives massages if asked with no hesitation, but is only DTF if the kids (HS age) aren't home because she "doesn't want them to hear us." If I push through while they are home it is a mixed bag but usually tense starfish. Still lifting, bodyfat down to 19%, dressing well, not giving much comfort when sex absent. I honestly just don't have the energy to figure out what to do about it.

An offer for a crap job really demonstrates that the person making the offer doesn't value you. Maybe you shouldn't be insulted, but it is annoying to have to even acknowledge it. In spite of your lack of effort to figure this out by yourself, I will tell you what I am doing, my body fat percentage has been cut by ~25% in 5 months with this program: Measure all intake for 3 components: Protein, Fat, Carbs. 35% Protein, 25% Fat, 40% Carbs by weight. Aerobic Cardio 1-2x per week for 30-50 mins. 5x5 workout 2-3 x per week, takes 45-60 mins. A 2 year 24hr fitness membership is $369 at Costco so that is where I work out.

I have similar moments to OP and I think your response is great. A good question is "Is she adding value?". I agree, it is connected to the reason people intentionally had many children; life was hard, you needed help to survive. It wasn't possible for one person to manage all that had to be done to survive. Women worked hard, as did men and children.

I have 2 girls and 1 boy, all teens now. The beach is gender-neutral. My girls love skiing, camping and sightseeing as much as my son. They also love shopping, makeup, movies, music and girly stuff. 50 is not the age when things normally stop working, you need to re-calibrate. Because ED is so common in older men, many assume that it's part of the normal aging process. It's not. Instead, ED reflects the impact of chronic diseases that become increasingly common with age. The most important are atherosclerosis and hypertension, which affect blood vessels, and diabetes, which strikes both blood vessels and nerves. Many drugs that older men take can interfere with sexual function, including so…

All of your responses lack an awareness of incentives. Your LTR is making choices all the time and you are giving her incentives to spend your money. Either you adjust your activities to a level that she can afford on her income, or you take all her money and control what is spent by both of you. Any other choice = you are BB. Why? Because AF doesn't pay for it.

I could be wrong but it sounds like you haven't fully moved. You need to learn how to leave one place behind and pick up somewhere else. Maintain your friend and family connections "back home" but develop a social world where you live. 6 hours driving is a waste of your life and rarely worth it long term. In my case instead of trading up to my next home, I re-financed to a 15 year loan, then bought another one just slightly larger and rented out the first one for positive cash flow. This was about 2 years ago. I am working on paying off the 2nd home in 15 years too, at which point I will move out and have 2 rentals, move to a lower cost of living location and live on the income. I assume I need to do more work on my side, but I am not confident that even when I reach my goals of body/frame/dread that it will work.

Also why it’s so easy to get laid on vacation in a remote place: little LTR potential out of that hookup. I found that insightful. I never fully understood it until you wrote it in this context. Thanks!

In your mind , even if you don't feel it yet, you've got to at least pretend it's all about you. Every action. You and your kids. She doesn't even exist other than some teenager with a problem. And get chill with it. Thanks for that, I needed it.

"Healthy" and "Good Cook" are relative terms. I have the same issues with my parents but really, they just have no clue, and what you describe is better than what many kids are stuck eating. Don't worry about what your mom did, or what your dad thought about her cooking, especially don't try to convince them to see the light of all the bad food they have! Just focus on you.

Agreed. You have to explicitly ask men for help. Asking for help when you really need it is one of the best ways to build relationships between men.

CYA is probably too broad a term. What I was focused on are things like saving emails so that when things go south you can point a finger of blame at someone else and deflect it from yourself. I agree that getting employment agreements in writing is essential, not only to protect yourself but also to ensure both parties are clear on what is being agreed to. It is also best practice to document project charters, project scope, requirements, test plans, marketing plans and anything where it is imp…

I am a senior manager at a public company, (that isn't a brag, there are a lot of senior managers in a lot of public companies), just letting you know my position. I have also been a principal at a small consulting company and worked at medium-sized consulting companies. I am an introvert, and work in technology. Here is my advice: Working for yourself = sales and marketing first. If you aren't able or willing to do that you will not succeed, only survive. In any position, have a direct, visible…

I think you have a lot of changes to make, getting control of your own income in an individual account is a great start. If your youngest child is 10, she needs to get at least a part time job to pay for any item not related to your children, including school, personal care activities where you are not present etc. I provide my SAHM wife with an allowance for $120 per month for her use, all other expenses must be for the household or the kids.

AWALT is one of the harder concepts for me to fully swallow, but let me offer another example of how it is absolutely true, but perhaps for some women, more is required to trigger it. I am married with 3 kids, my wife treats me well, is very honest, loving, caring. We went to a convention where one of her favorite actors (nobody major, has only been in like 3 movies, 1 starring role) was signing autographs with his female co-star. After we all passed through the line and got our signed photos, s…

Wow, great story, pretty rare to hear of women making good choices on this sub, so nice to hear.

Thanks for the balanced perspective. Some women over 30 may be getting off the CC and marrying beta bucks, but they are the exception, not the rule. As of 2005, the most recent survey I could find, most American women have fewer than 4 sexual partners by age 44. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/ad/ad362.pdf Women who marry over 30 also have a lower percentage of divorce than those who marry younger, especially if they have a bachelor's degree http://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2013/article/marriage-and-div…

It went well for me adopting the approach I recommended. I don't recommend walking on eggshells or trying to be positive, you still need to maintain frame to avoid heading back down the BP hole. I think you got it; during the first 1-2 weeks your goals are probably better focused on reconnecting with her and the kids, not starting a struggle for control.

I was deployed while in a relationship and my recommendation is to be very careful in how you communicate with her while not physically present and for a little while after your return. I don't mean that you should act all BP beta, just keep the focus on yourself until you get back and things calm down. Women with children and deployed husbands have to alpha up to survive. The transition from her being fully in charge to you regaining your position as leader of the household can be tough so focu…

1 - 3 times per day is a lot of time spent alone wasting energy. I know from experience that it limits your potential. Make it a goal to find other ways to use that energy in the company of others, even if it is only going to the gym and giving a nod to someone else there, it is better than staying alone in your room with porn.

My experience is slightly different but I totally agree with your point. The changes need to happen on my side, she is not the problem.

I agree. I no longer have the opinion that I should preserve the marriage at all costs, and I can easily see a life without her being just fine. I think that comes out in ways I don't even detect; to my benefit.

Thanks, I was initially turned off by dread because I didn't really understand it. One change I have made is stopped giving beta answers to shit-tests like: "Do you think she is cute?", and stopped reinforcing her notion that Japanese or Asian women are superior mates etc. I have more work to do in this area.

Thanks for the feedback, I had an initial negative reaction, I am still digesting the concepts and don't feel ready to apply it yet. I don't want to proceed haphazardly and felt ready to take the other steps I have taken first.

I agree. Many churches, like the public schools, have morphed into a reflection of the feminist culture in the US. I think that is one reason why more men than women have left it behind.
