| Alcohol truly is idiotic. You just reminded me of a good quote (and I totally agree with you on all points, BTW. 7 months sober, quit cold turkey.) : “A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any other invention with the possible exceptions of handguns and Tequila.”

OK thanks BPP! This is the what I was looking for. I've been working on my own "Be a Man Plan" (aka Man Plan, aka Get My Shit Together plan) for a while, but this is a different way of looking at it. I've been lurking for 6+ months now and am way overdue for a self-post. I've been improving for 2+ years prior to swallowing the Pill, but I think with my wife's severe and long-term depression the writing for the big "D" is already on the wall. I'm no longer mad at my BP self for the past 15+ years…

Thanks! Here's probably the best resource I've found on mental preparation and focus: Psychological Skills Training Manual - United States Fencing Association 2001. I was given it when I fenced many years ago, but I believe is essentially the same Mindful Meditation skills that most athletes are given.
